Cincinnati Bengals Starters For 2024 Entering Their Week 1 Game Against The New England Patriots

we are just days away from the Cincinnati Bengals taking the football field for the first time in the regular season I'm excited I know you guys are excited too show that excitement for me right now in the comment section by spamming HUD day happy Labor Day Bengals fans Stone Shields checking in once again with another edition of Bengals breakdown thank you so much for joining us here on a Monday today's video we're going to be looking at the starting lineup projection for the Cincinnati Bengals for their week one opener against the New England Patriots we're going to go position by position and break them all down for you guys that's going to be the focus of our show here today quarterback of course Joe burrow is back plenty of reason to be excited about that of course coming off injury last season I think it'll be just a sigh of relief and everybody will be super excited to see Joe burrow back out there at the quarterback position I for the bangers that one goes without saying now we move on to the running back spot I'm putting Chase Brown here I could have went Chase brown or Zach Moss kind of taking the easy way out here which I will do a little bit later on in today's video but I'm going with Chase Brown of course he was the guy that started for them in their preseason opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers now of course Zach Moss was a little under the weather was not able to play in that game we're going to see a lot out of both of these backs but I'm giving Chase Brown the advantage here I just think his speed and um you know he's really done a nice job kind of getting accustomed to the game at the professional level really excited to see what he can do Zach Moss I think some people are certainly sleeping on him in terms of what he can do out there on the football field he's had a really solid NFL career to this point I definitely think Bengals fans are going to be pleasantly surprised about what Zach Moss brings to the table but I'm giving Chase Brown the edge here in terms of the first guy to take the field at that running back position on on Sunday for the Bengals that leads us to the pin comment of today's show who is going to be the Bengals leading rusher in 2020 uh 2024 Chase Brown Zack Moss or trayon Williams you see their numbers right there so type those the number of who you think is going to be the leading rusher for Cincinnati in 2024 at the pin comment of today's video moving on to the tight end position I got Mike gaseki here of course free agent Mike coming in from the New England Patriots faces his former team week one of the 2024 season uh when the Bengals released their first depth chart they had Drew sample at this spot but you know those first depth charts they aren't really um certainly not gospel by any means and um I think a lot of the newer faces were found their way a little bit further down on the depth chart Mike keki is going to be their guy he's going to get a lot of those slot targets that Tyler boydd um you know has taken up for you know the past half de decade or so so mikek is going to be that tight end starting tight end that number one tight end for the Bengals really excited to see what he can do in stripes for Cincinnati moving on to the receivers of course I'm putting Jamar Chase here again that clock is ticking on a potential extension leading up to week one but I will be totally shocked if he is not out there for Cincinnati against the Patriots so I've got him at this wide receiver one spot as one of the best wide receivers in the National Football League now depending on where you look his lines are a little bit different I've seen this one floated around a little bit um 1,50 receiving yards for Jamar Chase seems really really low to me but uh uh I do think that they um take injury risk into account at uh to some extent when making these lines so sound off for us in the comments Type M if you think he's going to have more than that uh 12,000 or excuse me 1,50 receiving yards or less if you think it's going to be less than that number sound off for us in the comments of today's video Wide Receiver to of course T Higgins probably going to be his last year as a Cincinnati Bengal but that to me looks like the best one-two punch in the National Football League and you got Joe burrow out there at the quarterback position those are your superstars on this team and expecting big years from those two guys wide receiver three that was a battle com uh going into training camp and the preseason there were several guys buying for that spot and I think ultimately we'll see Andre Yash go out there for first for Cincinnati certainly Charlie Jones and Trent Irwin um have a lot to bring to the table as well and are going to get their uh named called at some point Jermaine Burton maybe a little bit later on we'll see if he gets too much or you know a decent amount of playing time not really expecting a ton from him to start the season but Andre Yash has been outstanding in training camp and I'm really excited for him to be the third wide receiver out there for Cincinnati it almost seems unfair to me we'll return to our lineup projections here in a moment looking for kind of a bounceback year I don't want to say he was terrible last year in 2023 but he certainly didn't resemble the player that he had been in years prior in terms of his stin with the Chiefs and the Ravens Bengals hope he can get back to that form in 2024 but there's your starting left tackle Orlando Brown Jr left guard Cordell Volson is going to be Manning down this spot once again GTO volson's a guy that got beat up a lot in the m in the media I felt like he was kind of unfairly criticized I understand the numbers aren't great but I think he took a little bit too much of that um burden in terms of how the offensive line underachieved in recent years I think CTO volson's going to have a really big campaign in 2024 really excited to see what he can do Ted Carris one of the best centers in the National Football League fresh off his extension he is that guy at your starting center spot you also feel good if something were to happen to Caris you got Matt Lee seventh round pick by the Bengals he had a really solid preseason Phil good about him backing up Ted Carris Right Guard Alex Kappa is back and um feel comfortable about him in this Right Guard spot on paper this seems like the best offensive line of the Joe burrow era we get to that last spot on the offensive line here's our first or of the day either amarius Mims or Trent Brown look I would be coming to you guys straight and if he didn't have that PEC issue I would 100% be saying it's a Marius Mims here but we still don't have too much detail on what exactly that peek is doing right now in terms of the recovery of amarius Mims so I got the or here think the Bengals would love to have amarius Mims out there I think he was well on his way to winning that job but with the uh you know injury concern where things are at we don't really know exactly so we'll say it's either going to be him or Trent Brown again another opportunity for you guys to get interactive with our show here at Bengals breakdown what is your confidence level in the Bengals offensive line again I think this is the best offensive line Joe burrow has had to work with in his NFL career it's a big year for Frank Pollock I think there's Talent on this line he's got to get the most out of him and uh do a good job being that offens line coach so scale for us in the comments one two 10 all right there's the offense let's flip over to the defense at this point uh in terms of our Edge rushers here Trey H Hendrickson and Sam hubber that's kind of your two-headed monster at that position feel good about both guys guys are they creeping up there in age maybe but I still think they have several good years left in the tank no question marks there you just cross your fingers for health moving towards the interior of that defensive line we've talked about it at length throughout the off season big question marks at this position you're bringing in a new phase Sheldon rankins who's had a solid NFL career of course played really well against the Bengals last year and the Bengals hoping that he can play well for them this season at that interior defensive line spot it's going to be him it's going to be BJ Hills kind of going to be his running mate at that defensive tackle position we've talked about the lack of depth kind of behind those two guys that room is going to get tested in 2024 we will see how they Faire but um at this point you're a little bit concerned about them applying any pressure from the interior of their offens uh defensive line on the cornerback quarterback or as well as just simply stopping the run so big question marks at TH at those spots need big years from rankings and Hill moving over to linebacker Logan Wilson is your main guy feel really good about what he's going to be able to do in 2024 one of my favorite Cincinnati Bengals if not my favorite I think he has a big year for Cincinnati this coming season Germaine Pratt also um a great linebacker for the Cincinnati Bengals who no question marks here in terms of linebacker one linebacker 2 it was Wilson and Pratt all day long Bengals need them to have better years than they had in 2023 and I feel both are very capable of making that happen now I threw a third linebacker on this list so if you look at all of our projections there's going to be 12 guys on defense obviously that cannot happen but I've got a Keem Davis Gaither slide slotted in at this spot as of now H yeah Muma Jong meta could potentially challenge him for this spot I'm kind of interested to see what AEM Davis ga's year looks like for the Bengals and if either of those two linebackers that they have on their roster bti or Jang meta can kind of challenge him for that spot but we'll see depending on how many defensive lineman the Bengals have out on the field of course will impact how many linebackers so if they're just got two linebackers out there it's going to be Wilson and Pratt but if they uh you know play a defense with that third linebacker I think hem Davis gather will probably be the first guy to step on the field let's get to the back end of Lou Anar rumo's defense quarterback One cam Taylor Britt he's a Bonafide number one in this league he's proven that he's going to match up against the best receiver on the other side and uh Bengals feel really good about what they have in cam Taylor Brit I think he's been an outstanding draft pick for them and he's developed into a nice young player hopefully can continue with that upward trajectory cornerback two here we go it's Dax hill we are putting him down officially as the Bengals quarterback too that was probably the biggest offseason position battle was it going to be Hill was it going to be DJ Turner both will play I think Dax Hill takes the field first Sunday afternoon in Cincinnati that nickel spot Mike Hilton has done a tremendous job in that role ever since he's arrived to the Queen City and um I expect him to have another big Year love seeing him get some pressure on the quarterback off the edge he's always in the right place at the right time he's a sure tackler feel really good about Mike Hilton coming back at that nickel spot now these safeties this is where the defense looks totally different than last year I think you know the safety play last year in large part contributed to the Bengals failures on the defensive side of the football but you're bringing back Von Bell after a one-year hius in Carolina super excited about that Von Bell when he was here was one of my favorite Bengals tough physical guy he ain't afraid to hit nobody I tell you that much and um I think he's going to have a big year for Cincinnati and it will be a calming presence to see him back out there you know calling shots on the back end of lumo's defense and Gino Stone I think Bengals fans need to get really excited about G Gino Stone I understand the awkwardness right he was a Baltimore Raven he had success against the Bengals but now he's in Stripes so I think the Bengals fans are really going to fall in love with Gino Stone as a player he's a gritty guy he was a seventh round pick he's really just fought his way to where he's at right now and he plays with that chip on his shoulder and I think the Bengals have a really really good good free safety in Gino Stone different player than Jesse Bates a couple of years ago doesn't have quite the speed Bates does but I think those two on the back end really going to help improve the Bengals defense this season another opportunity for you guys to get interactive with our show here at Bengals breakdown which side of the ball is better for Cincinnati let me know in the comments type O for offense or D for defense all right before we get out of here let's get to the Specialists here Evan mcferson fresh of his extension there was no question marks there there is another kicker on the Bengals roster or practice squad he is the guy just keep your fingers crossed that he's able to stay healthy throughout the entirety of the Season there was a punter battle as we've talked about plenty of times here on the show between Ryan Rico and Brad Robbins Brad Robbins had the hip flexor issue Rico wins the job by default Brad Robins of course starting the season on the short-term IR for Cincinnati so Rico's going to have four games to go out there and prove that he can be the punter for this football team so that's a position to really keep an eye on is that punter spot Ryan Rico wins that job for now and of course Cal admidas is back as the Bengals Long Snapper he's done a great job ever since he has been here expect him to have another good year in 2024 now from the returner perspective I think Charlie Jones definitely going to be your punt R returner for Cincinnati um that last preseason game you know he was back out there he was returning kicks at as well but I think just seeing that speed it looks like that knee is good to go for week one he's my starting punt returner here and then from a kick return perspective trayon Williams or chase Brown I think are kind of the two guys that you would think there but could it potentially be Charlie Jones as well taking over that spot as the kick returner in addition to being the punt returner that is another option as well so there's definitely some flexibility at that kick return spot don't want to count out Trenton Irwin either I think he is a guy that the Bengals might look to in that um you know returner spot a lot of question marks sers I think a lot of uh people around the team expected Chris Evans to be one of their main kick returners and of course he suffered a season ending injury so it is not going to be him but there you have it those are your starting lineup projections for the Bengals uh headed into week one against the Patriots [Music] oh [Music]
