quarterback to start a season opener in Kansas state's history we saw him last year he is very he's a dual threat and he's really really shrewed on the ground makes very smart decisions the question marks around Avery Johnson are through the air against the Skyhawks I mean he was only 14 and 21 for 153 yards two touchdowns in in an interception the interception was a clear mistake um now he's not getting beaten up over it he's a Young quarterback but it was a mistake he ran just three times but for 37 yards it is this running game that the wildcat's offense is you know going to be known for well their defense their defense is excellent but their running game is very very good DJ giddens was a monster 124 yards on 13 carries 9.5 yards per attempt now it's going to be tougher doing that yolman Stadium as a team the Wildcats ran for 283 yards and two touchdowns 31 times they ran the ball uh they're very good and again back to what Johnson's capable of Avery Johnson with running the ball 333 yards he's rushed for in his career 6.1 yards per carry I mean 37 and three I mean he knows when to do it he's never thrown now we're only talking three starts but he's never thrown for 200 yards he's gonna have to prove that he can beat you through the air or teams are gonna load up the box Skyhawks are incapable of doing that can Tain do that John sumall era in New Orleans no more I shouldn't say nobody thought but it was a surprise that he was named the starting quarterback at chain they had the fstar uh Oregon recruit a former festar Oregon recruit Tai Thompson they thought Kai Horton had a chance they have a veteran offensive line to protect Tech Daran menah and look this is his that that was a practice game against South Eastern Louisiana now it's real with Kansas State coming to town uh noie says seeing 50% chance of rain during game time so I want the under but I am betting to Lane and I just wanted to say it all out loud hear what you guys had to say hear what the chat had to say before I pulled the trigger uh this line you know hadn't moved in a while and didn't expect it to you know over the hours of our show so I want to Lane I'm very interested in the under dabby cab take it away wild cats Green Wave yeah and I gotta remember sometimes I might repeat a little bit of what you said but you know I cap it coming in I I thought Tai Thompson was gonna be the quarterback so I'm on that page with you I think only people tied in with the two-lane program you know that are very close with it knew MSA would get the the shot as a freshman I mean 205 yards two uh two touchdowns 10 to 12 in that first game just outstanding and then behind him um you got M Makai Hodge Hodes he he's proven also in the back field talking about this kstate offense on the other side though you know they only have four returning starters there's a lot of um there's a lot of turnover here I am also high on Avery Johnson I'm not too concerned about the interception uh in that first game and I know he only had 153 yards uh but when you run for 20 283 yards you don't have to throw the football I mean they were averaging 9.1 yards a carry in that first game um so so they did whatever they wanted to on offense right there's there's nothing to really worry about there I am high on Avery Johnson um now do I think K State's gonna have that same success against a two-lane team you know that was 25th in yards per carry um last year no obviously I don't um two lane does have seven returning starters on their defense Jimmy so I like that with new coaches in the program it's still going to be a little bit of jelling going on with tlane uh but you got a you got a lot of people returning there especially on the defensive side um on the other side defense for K State I look at them I see six of seven defensive starters are back on the front seven um and as a whole last year K State was 19th in success rate as far as defense goes and I'm kind of just pading your under looking at some of the stuff on this the only thing that would scare me away from an under in this football game would be the fact that both of these teams move fast right they're they're very quick with Tempo I think two lane was like in the 50s uh K State was I don't want to put a number that's out there wrong but K State was 19th or something like that maybe I don't have it in front of me so go look at it but it's it's very um it's a very they're both they both have quick tempos right um that being said I think this is going to be a defensive game and I think if K State does get the lead they'll be happy to run the football and eat the clock uh so I like the under with you I haven't bet anything in this game but I like it well that's really all I need to hear I'm going to move on it wi time backing it uh I'm GNA move on both I would prefer to bet a little more on Tain plus n but I'm going to move uh on both Tain and the under plus n under 47 and a half and I'll do that when the show is over
