orange beef if you ever had it you know how delicious this actually is slightly sweet very Savory and a tiny bit of tanginess and absolutely delicious now it was brought to my attention by you guys that the secret ingredient is this Tang this is what will make your orange beef even better than it already is I'm a little bit skeptical however with so many different experiments done throughout the years you guys have proved me wrong so many times and there's no reason why I shouldn't trust you with your requests now tank is a very interesting an ingredient this was not originally created to have an own food it's actually just a sugar drink let's just say it's quite similar to Gatorade it's sweet Tangy and a lot of people love it but let's see if this really makes orange beef better or you guys are just trolling me we'll find out right now because for today's experiment I'll be using these three beautiful New York strip as you can see they are 1 and 1/2 in thick Choice grade and perfect to make orange beef now since I have three of them this is how this experiment is going to go down I'll be using the first steak IM immediately and the first thing to do is to give it a little bit of trimming I'll be removing the silver skin on the edges also a little bit of the fat and chopping it up in small straps this is what I'm looking for nice and small slightly thin and it will cook quickly next to make a marinade into a bow I threw in all of the steak followed by soy sauce and corn starch mix it all until everything is fully combined because this will do two things to the steak obviously it's going to make it more flavorful because of the soy sauce but the corn starch is supposed to also make it more tender and at the same time it should give a nice texture when we're frying it as the next step is to set it down in a cooling rack so that the air can circulate and you want to let it marinate on your freezer for at least 1 hour once the time is up take it out and look it is slightly Frozen that's what you're looking for in order to make a wonderful orange beef now in a walk set the oil at 350° F and start frying them remember one thing it's slightly Frozen so be very careful with splattering because this takes no time at all to fry up and make sure to do it in batches so your oil does not drop the temperature too much once you got a nice golden brown color like this set it aside and now we got to prepare a wonderful sauce and we'll start off with oranges to be specific we're looking for orange peel you want to go ahead and chop them up nice and fine and into a walk throw in some oil followed by orange peel garlic ginger and chili flakes stir that up a little bit and let it cook as after about 1 minute throw in some green onions stir it a little more and immediately throw in your beef mix it and toss everything together as in a separate bow squeezing some orange juice followed by water rice vinegar shaing wine sesame seed oil light soy sauce dark soy sauce and sugar now mix everything together and combine and immediately throw it into the walk the key here now is to toss it and combine everything together to finish it off add some green onions because this is the traditional version of making orange beef and I'll tell you one thing friends it is delicious and if you never had it you don't know what you're missing you guys told me that it can even be better than this and I cannot wait to find out and for that I got my two other steaks first thing to do is to get them seasoned I went with a good amount of salt followed by freshly ground black pepper and garlic powder one of them is going to get the tank sauce I'll be showing you that shortly because now it just goes in the bag and nothing else the second one on the other hand we're going to give it the tank treatment let's just say a generous amount of Tang the more the better to be specific 8 tablespoon the only thing you have to do now is to vacuum seal them and they are now ready to be cooked svi I'll be cooking both in the same container at 135° f for 2 hours and I cannot wait to find out which one is going to be best let's go ahead and make the tank sauce the difference is here is that I'm switching orange juice for tank so I placed a good amount in the bow followed by rice vinegar shaing wine sesame oil light soy sauce dark soy sauce and sugar mix it all up and this is now ready now just like you saw previously I cook it exactly the same way the only differences here is the Tang replacing the orange with tang is the key here and hopefully it's going to make this sauce taste better than the original because with our svi steak we're just going to be dropping it here later on but don't forget we also have our tank steak that one I'm even more skeptical because I have a feeling with the tank sauce is going to taste real good and just in case things do not go well I decided to go ahead and make an awesome side dish and this one includes more protein to be specific chicken breast and the first thing to do is to chop them up nice and small cutting them the same size will ensure that they will cook evenly and I went ahead and made a simple marinade I first started with a little bit of water followed by rice vinegar dark soy sauce light soy sauce sugar oyster sauce and corn starch mixed that up real good and it was now ready then I plac my chicken into a bowl followed by a tiny bit of sesame seed oil and that sauce we just made then a generous amount of corn starch mix it all up until everything is fully combined this is what you're looking for next up to cook them into a walk I threw in some oil and immediately start frying them this takes no time at all especially because they're nice and small you will cook quite quickly once that's done go ahead and put them on a bowl and set them aside using the same pan I threw in some oil followed by green and red bell peppers then I added some garlic scallions some ginger peanuts and some chilies for heat mix that up real good and let it cook once the vegetables got a nice color I immediately threw the chicken right back in mix that up a little bit and added some of that sauce we made previously because to finish it up you want to add some SOA noodles and start tossing the whole thing the more you toss the better it's going to be and most importantly don't forget to add the rest of the sauce mix and toss until everything gets a nice coating as in the end the only thing left to do is to Plate it out first the soba noodles followed by the Kow chicken and to make it slightly spicy I went ahead and added some chili oil right on top of the SOA noodles this is going to be the perfect side dish to go along with our Tang steak because by this time my steaks were fully cooked so I went ahead and remove them from the bag Pat them dry really good as you can clearly see they need a crust on them to finish them off I'll be using my flamethrower and of course one will be tossed with a tank sauce because I know my sticks don't look that good right now but watch this [Music] all right everybody and here we got our beautiful Feast gentlemen what do you guys think huh it's not our traditional steak but you know what I'm not mad this looks really good how about this one it doesn't look traditional why does it look orange never mind it's not traditional but here's the deal we got a little experiment going on right here all right I want your honest brutal opinion to make sure if this is better or worse just let me know sounds like a plan so this is orange beef you have order to take out out you do the cooking I do the eating of course I do take out okay all right sounds good so this is actually our control you ready for it yep all right enough talking cheers everybody cheers M Saucy Saucy slightly spicy it's got very nice seasonings who hold on maybe not so nice anymore I'm a sweat today not going to lie Google I'm a little bit thrown off by the seasonings on here normally we're used to like Savory steaks but this has like some bitterness to it that's uh it's very unique I what I like the most is like it feels feels like there's like a glaze on it or something the spice is obviously there you can feel it a little bit you guys can tell immediately if the thing is spicy or not these men start sweating everybody even even if it's just a little bit spicy I'm a sweat that is our control okay I enjoy the flavor Everybody it's good it is quite unique like you said by the way this is orange beef it has a little bit of the peel from the orange it's actually the real traditional version the way to make it so I I really want to know if this one here is going to make it any better or worse especially because of what you said it's a little bitter yeah but first can we go to the side dish I can use a palet cleanser right now let's do it I want to know your honest opinion here this one Leo I'm just going to give you a warning it's a little spicy too all right hey I don't mind no spice enough talking let's give it a go cheers everybody cheers those noodles are super flavorful wow the noodles are very soft and really absorb whatever broth or sauce you use to coat this very nice I'm sweating boy this man is having a hard time that's the problem is I love spicy food but my body does not what I like is that it's not like a spaghetti noodle it's more like a like I guess the ramen noodle like it's got more of a bite to it that is delicious it's not that hard to make everybody something I highly recommend but with that being said let's go to the next one because I'm really really curious he has a very special ingredient here that I want your honest opinion and H most importantly I want to know if this is an improvement or a bad idea enough up talking let's give it a try cheers everybody cheers Che oh wow oh wow that's better oh my God that's so good this is definitely more yummy a little more Saucy that's the word yummy a little more juicy this is good I prefer that steak way more than the first one that we had it has more of a citrus flavor but without any bitterness the steak is softer the sauce is more flavorful and you can really like feel those flavors more in this thick cut of steak the steak is juicier the flavor of the sauce actually enhances the steak even though I use the special ingredient you guys asked for it it actually made it better I am pleasantly surprised because I'll be honest I think this was going to be a complete disaster it's just better for steak lovers like us this one's for sure better but we are not done yet we have another one over here which I mean take a look at it the nice medium rare yeah and orange oh boy here we go all right stop dissecting the steak okay bro this steak smells so interesting it smells good huh oh I can't wait to try this all right well let's give it a go right now cheers everybody cheers m not my favorite oh wow that is terrible it's so sweet yeah it's like a weird sweetness on this like artificial I don't taste any beef anymore it's just like a beef orange this one is so much better it's ridiculous yeah yeah and also whatever was on the crust of that lastic burned too so you have like a burnt taste as well in there tastes like that is absolutely terrible and it leaves a terrible terrible taste in your mouth and by the way this is the Tang experiment the what yes tank the one you like the one you love to drink and you drink all the time that's a zero out of 10 do not recommend I hope you guys enjoyed this
