ANOTHER BROWARD STUDENT HAS BEEN ARRESTED FOR MAKING THREATS AGAINST ELEMENTARY, MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOLS. THE TEENAGER WAS ARRESTED OVER THE WEEKEND BUT THE FALLOUT WAS FELT COUNTYWIDE TODAY. JOAN MURRAY IS AT FT. LAUDERDALE HIGH SCHOOL WITH THE IMPACT OF THIS LATEST ARREST. >> Reporter: A LOT OF PEOPLE DID NOT SHOW UP TODAY AND THIS HAPPENED COUNTYWIDE. THE THREAT CAME TO LIGHT OVER THE WEEKEND BUT THE IMPACT WAS FELT TODAY. >> SHE ALMOST DIDN'T GO TO SCHOOL BECAUSE OF THIS. THE THREAT ON SOCIAL MEDIA NAMING HER SCHOOL FT. LAUDERDALE HIGH AND NINE OTHERS A TARGET FOR VIOLENCE. >> THERE'S A POSSIBLE CHANCE THAT THEY WOULD SHOOT IT UP. >> Reporter: THAT FELT REAL WHEN WE SPOKE TO HER MOM WHO CAME EARLY TO PICK HER UP. WAS IT HARD TO GET HER TO GO TO SCHOOL ? >> SHE WAS CRYING ON THE WAY. HER DAD TALK TO HER AND THINGS LIKE THAT. I'M HERE EARLY. I LET HER KNOW IT'S OKAY. >> Reporter: IT WASN'T OKAY FOR CLASSMATES. STUDENTS AT FT. LAUDERDALE HIGH TOLD US A LOT OF KIDS STAYED AWAY EVEN THOUGH THE 14-YEAR-OLD WHO MADE THE THREATS TOLD DETECTIVES IT WAS A JOKE. THE JUDGE TOLD HER SHE WOULD STAY IN JUVENILE LOCKUP. >> PARENTS, I'M CALLING ON YOU TO HAVE SERIOUS CONVERSATIONS WITH YOUR CHILDREN AND UNDERSTAND THE GRAVITY OF THESE ISSUES WILL MIMIC A THREAT TO OUR SCHOOLS. IT CAN CHANGE THEIR TRAJECTORY FOR THEIR REST OF THEIR LIFE. OFTENTIMES ENDING UP IN ARREST AND EXPOSURE FROM SCHOOLS. >> Reporter: THE SAME MESSAGE FROM THE JUVENILE COURT JUDGE. >> IF YOU ARE CHARGED AND FOUND GUILTY, YOU WILL ULTIMATELY BE FACING UP TO THREE YEARS OF CONFINEMENT IN A LOCKDOWN FACILITY. >> Reporter: THE SUPERINTENDENT SAID PARENTS AND STUDENTS REPORTED THE THREAT ON THE FLORIDA APP. EVEN THOUGH NOTHING HAPPENED ON MONDAY, SHE AND HER CLASSMATES ARE GETTING SCHOOLED ON THE REAL WORLD. >> YOU TAKE CHANCES LIKE THAT TO BE FUNNY, YOU CAN GET PUNISHED. >> Reporter: THESE ARE FELONY COUNTS.
