Jets and Bengals Disappoint | NFL Top 10 Week 2 | 2024 NFL Power Rankings

the top 10 NFL teams heading into week two ladies and gentlemen last week we premiered our top 10 teams for the 2024 NFL season and here it is behind you this is what we landed on before the games were played Casey at one Detroit at two San Francisco at three the Ravens at four Jets at five eagles at six Bengals at seven Texans at eight Rams at nine and Packers at 10 so before we do the uh top 10 for going into the week two I want to remind you this is not a kneejerk reaction situation just because the Bengals lost to the Patriots doesn't mean we take them from seven and move them to 32 okay so let's take a look in week two so KC remains number one Detroit remains number two San Francisco remains number three they were really really good I think all of them had good wins Casey uh lucky kind of Lucky at the end there with the Isaiah likely's toe being over the line to get to get the win against Baltimore more Detroit Detroit is turning into one of those teams and I talk about this all the time where really good teams just find a way to win KC Detroit Philadelphia and Detroit is that team now Decades of losing has taught this team how to close out games how to win games they probably shouldn't and they beat a very game Rams team the Rams looked really good too Baltimore I'm not sure if they should drop very far from that performance you you know you take the defending champs to the limit on the road I think they'll be fine the Jets really disappointing the Jets were very very disappointing on both sides of the ball it's easy to say Aaron Rogers wasn't good and it's easy to say the offense wasn't good but my god when you're talking about a top the number one defense not even the top defense the number one defense and you get Absolut gashed by a backup running back when you know they're running the football 180 something yards on the ground when they knew what was coming they couldn't stop anything Rogers was pedestrian at best he at least looked physically able like Kurt Cousins looked like you could tell there were issues with his plant foot there were issues with with his Achilles and I'm not I'm not the doctor but didn't look good for cousins Rogers physically looked apart he just looked like a guy who had played football in a year so I still have hoped for the Jets but they certainly aren't going to be at five uh the Eagles so I thought the Eagles were pretty good I know the Jordan love in just injury kind of changes things for that game but the Eagles are one of those teams where they're just going to keep on pounding away and force you to stop it I thought the Eagles were pretty solid so I like where they're at I certainly like them uh to win the NFC East the Bengals no doubt about it really disappointing I mean how in the world uh just it goes to show you ladies and gentlemen that when these teams don't practice it is not a given it's not a given they're just going to roll the ball out and be sharp from day one uh we saw that here you know Jamar Chase situation it's crazy it's lingered this far in the season but you it's a they're a well-oiled machine until they aren't they're a well-oiled machine until Burrow's missing some pieces or burrow is hurt or this player is hurt or this player is holding out I think C you'll be fine but I don't think they are necessarily the Cincinnati team that we were used to seeing so there's definitely some holes there they will drop as well Houston really good win good win against a divisional opponent a team that you know I think is right there with him I think Anthony Richardson Indianapolis I love love what Shane Sten does but Houston got the win good teams win what I tell you you good teams win even if you're not at your best so Indianapolis has a big problem with their defense their defense is they're going to drop back they're going to play that shell don't beat you over the top defense and that's it they don't change they don't switch things up so it's kind of crazy to sit there and watch Nico Collins absolutely torch them I have the box scores pulled up here let's see what Collins ended up with Collins ends up 6 for 117 and uh the Colts never ever thought about changing their defense to stop him so you know it happens but the Colts put forth a good effort uh that that'll be a you know wire to wire those two will be going at it for that division but Houston's going to get a bump the Rams won't get dropped that much they did lose so they will drop but I thought the Rams were really solid especially with AA going down now nakua being on the IR I do take that into effect so Green Bay drops out of the top 10 they lose and Jordan loves out for who knows how long I'm going assume I'm assuming a couple weeks I mean no reason to rush him back uh if it's Malik Willis or Ryan tanning Hill it doesn't really matter to me they certainly are not going to be a top 10 team a team being introduced into the top 10 a team I was dead wrong on is the Dallas Cowboys so I thought the Dallas Cowboys would struggle because of their off season with Dak and with CD lamb and you know some moving parts and Ezekiel Elliott and dvin cook being the running backs and I'm not a big fan of Big Mike and Dan Quinn leaving Mike Zer taking over the defense a lot of variables there that was a tough game going on the road to Cleveland Cleveland took money including my money uh a lot of sharp action was on Cleveland and here's the bottom line for Cleveland Deshawn might Deshawn Watson might be the worst $275 million investment in in just business history wow I mean the fact that they are tied to this guy with that guaranteed contract and he is so much worse than Joe Flaco and Joe I say Joe Flaco because he obviously was the Browns quarterback last year it is insane that the Browns could have virtually any other quarterback in the NFL and it would be an upgrade there are backups that would be an upgrade the question now for the Browns is jamus Winston one of those backups and can do you have the guts to sit your $300 million man or do you allow DeShaun Watson to tank the franchise he is so bad he is so so so washed so washed so Dallas enters the top 10 uh Dallas looked great I mean their defense looked good Michael Parsons was everywhere they and they just torched them on offense I mean cidd lamb uh look like he didn't miss a beat you know Ezekiel Elliott even got in into the uh into the End Zone look at that box score real quick uh Jake Ferguson a big piece of the Cowboys offense it looks like he did Dodge a an injury so that's good for Cowboys fans yeah CD lamb 5 for 61 10 targets Ezekiel Elliott 10 for 40 and there you go Dak uh knocking off some Rust I mean again 19 for 32 179 uh isn't going to get you in the Hall of Fame but could have been a whole lot worse and that whole lot worse is Deshawn Watson okay so let's go ahead and put these teams let's go ahead start moving some pieces around so we're going to move the Eagles up they're going to be our five we're going to move the Texans up they are going to be the six all right the Jets I will move them down to seven I still believe in the Jets I think the team I think it can be good you know they're I'm going to drop them from 5 to seven that is a difficult opponent like when you're going on the road and playing San Francisco certain I mean they're a four point they're a four and a half Point dog you know so it's hard to it's hard to slam them too hard for losing a game they are absolutely supposed to win I'm less concerned about the offense cuz I know Rogers will figure it out if he's on the field you got to figure he's going to be rusty again hasn't played in a full year um just you know any kind of football man's been doing iasa I'm more concerned about the defense a big part of the reason I like the Jets is because of this idea that the that the Jets have the best defense in the NFL and PFF gave them number one defensive line number one linebacker core number one secondary secondary got absolutely torched by Brock pie they were doing whatever they wanted defensive line linebackers got absolutely embarrassed by the 49ers uh running attack if Christian mcaffry is in that game my God so I'm still going to hold on here the Jets do have an easy schedule jet have a very very easy schedule coming up so I think they do write the ship so I'm not going to drop them too far uh Dallas I'm going to swing up to eight uh again I was very impressed with their performance on both sides of the ball for being Rusty and having some weird moving pieces in there I don't think Dallas is as good as Philly I don't think Dallas will win the division but the idea that they may miss the playoffs the idea that uh you know losing season I think that might have been a little over exaggerated the Rams I'm going to keep them at nine controversial yet Brave I'm going to keep them at nine um the only reason it's another situation where they're like a four and a half Point dog on the road to Detroit a team I think is the best team one of the best teams in the NFL the best team in the NFC the fact that they push that game to the Limit literally in overtime uh what can you do so good performance there I thought about dropping them because of AA um you know him not being there I think is a big deal but I believe in sha McVey I believe in their depth I I think they'll be okay Cincy I'm giving you a shot here I'm giving you a shot this is a loser leaves town match they are playing the Kansas City Chiefs they are a 6 point6 and a half point7 Point dog uh we'll see if they come into that game and they lose you know 27 24 and overtime whatever if they show like hey we can compete with the big boys all right they probably won't stay in the top 10 but they will stay in that honorable mention world if they go to if they play KC and get absolutely dog walked and they lose you know about two touchdowns three touchdowns all of a sudden then you're not totally sure what you have with uh with ciny so I'm going to keep them in the top 10 for now but who man Big Time Asis asterisk teams that got honorable mention looks with the Buffalo Bills the Miami Dolphins and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were all my honorable mentions there other teams that that you know tip of the cap uh tip of the cap certainly to the Seahawks tip of the cap certainly to the New Orleans Saints and even in defeat tip of the cap to the Jaguars tip of the tap cap to the Colts the rest of the teams you know Minnesota was good but New York might be might be the worst team in the NFL Cincinnati or Chicago fake box score that was a bad win the Raiders horrible from Antonio pierce the commanders not impressed terrible defense maybe the worst defense in the NFL Jaden Daniels is the new captain checkdown Arizona good effort early but beyond that what are you going to do another really bad defense Steelers not going to say impressed but they did get the win Atlanta who could have seen this coming I did Kirk Cousins is not healthy question is how fast until they turn to Michael pennick Patriots big win big big win there let's take let's take a look at uh let's take a look at that take a look at that box score see what we can deduce okay let's go the team stats here Pats Bengal pats on the road ypp now this can be a bit deceiving because if you're the Patriots here you get up to a a big lead which we'll call 10 nothing I'm not surprised that gerod Mayo said hey let's run the damn football let's run the damn football and get the hell out of here so in games like this with a huge Underdog who already is a very defensive oriented you know kind of a slower methodical offense defense oriented team sometimes ypp doesn't tell the whole story I mean right here ladies and gentlemen you know they run it they run it 40 times 25 times from R Andre Stevenson run for four and a half yards a carry basically so I'm not too shocked that they lose um the ypp barely though we look at everything else like total plays yeah 64 plays to the Bengals 48 um third down held the Bengals to four for 11 they were six for 15 themselves time of possession obviously big discrepancy when you have almost 20 more plays than your opponent uh and then of course the great equalizer turnover so if you look at this if you look at this box score if you showed me this I would say yeah looks like the team on the left win so this is a deserved win this is a deserved win right here this isn't fake this isn't fugazi like the like the Bears um you know plus two the turnover margin plus 10 minutes in time of possession ypp relatively the same uh rushing yards per Rush relatively the same also known as exactly the same yeah looks like a win to me so hard fought win not a it's not one of those things where you look at this and you say like you know the Pats might have something here I don't see that Pats might have a decent defense you could say Pats may be good defensively uh Pats may be able to run the football some of those things you can say but beyond that I don't really take much for the win so the Pats don't crack like my top 10 or anything they're still one of the worst teams in the NFL but they're I think you win a game like that you run the football like that and you play defense like that you do separate yourself from the Giants you do separate yourself from the Panthers you know that that is that's how that works out so you can kind of see before the season and we did this with Arizona last year where Arizona is everyone thinks is the worst team ever going into last season worst team ever and you watch him play and you're like well I mean this team's kind of Scrappy this team can do things this team can can play it's not it's not a complete pushover and then you quickly see like they are definitely not the worst team in the NFL and this season I think already already you can kind of start seeing who who those teams are like you can already start seeing those teams kind of kind of figure themselves out where some combination of some combination of let's see probably there maybe [Music] there yeah some combination of of Tennessee Washington Denver Carolina and New York like those are probably your five worst teams more than likely like this is kind of how it looks so you've got like if y'all can see the honorable mentions here so I would say honorable mentions Miami Buffalo Tampa Seattle and then and then like those three of The Honorable Menches th those three could have snuck into the top 10 then it probably goes Seattle let's see Jack in [Music] there then it probably goes yeah I'd be cool with Seattle Indie Jacksonville New Orleans Green Bay Sons Jordan love if Jordan love is there Green Bay is way higher up all right then let's fix some of this stuff uh this kind of looks about right so then you go Green Bay is like a huge asteris like ignore Green Bay because we we right now I don't know who their quarterback is if it's Malik Willis I'm dropping them big time it's Ryan tanah Hill I might keep them in the middle Jordan love maybe not even that hurt so we're just going to pretend like they don't exist they're they're they're on the total separate Island uh I would drop let's see so Minnesota's there i' probably have the Browns I still have the Browns kind of up I would drop the Bears let's see but Steelers there um maybe maybe like this this looks about right so quick real quick like 32 and from Jacksonville to about Chicago that is where you're going to see the most mixup in in the NFL it's where you're going to see the most moving and shaking is that like let's see that's 10 11 12 13 so 14 through 15 16 17 18 19 20 through 22 15 through 22 is probably where you're going to see the most shake up given any week that's probably the highest highest variable teams and then I'd be very confident saying the bad teams start here and go Arizona I'm not even sure if Arizona's bad to be honest that might be unfair but Chargers Raiders p uh Patriots Titans commanders Broncos Panthers Giants I'm very confident saying those are your worst teams one two three four five six seven eight so think we have a pretty distinguished just from one week a pretty distinguished eight uh bad what I would consider bad teams the Raiders are on whoopsy Poopsy watch because if if Devonte Adams is disgruntled enough and Devonte Adams ends up with the Jets which would anyone be surprised the Raiders are going to have a really hard time winning games really hard time because you're already a bad offense with a defensive minded archaic dinosaur head coach if you take Devonte Adams off that team I don't know if you can score points to win games that's going to be hard to watch really hard to watch so if I'm a Raiders fan I'd be I'd be very concerned about rumors about Devonte Adams so there's your top 10 here you go going into week two KC Detroit San Francisco Baltimore Philadelphia the Texans the Jets the Cowboys the Rams and the Bengals ladies and gentlemen let me know in the comments below your top 10 where I got it wrong where I
