Intro I’ve finished the main storyline of Star
Wars Outlaws and played over 40 hours so far, so I’m going to share some of the things I
wish I’d known sooner before playing the game, so you can hopefully have a more
enjoyable experience in the Outer Rim… No storyline spoilers here in this video…
Cheers to Ubisoft for the review code, so I could get these tips & tricks out to you
swiftly and let’s first cover some of the basics… …and that’s game length, because it took me
approximately 25 hours to finish the main story 10 | Important Info - Star Wars Outlaws at an average pace with another additional 20+
hours of play time where I still haven't finished all side content in the game, but I reckon a 100%
completion will take you around 60 hours or so… There are also 4x planets for you to
visit in-game, as fifth planet, Cantonica, is only available to visit through certain
quests, but they don’t unlock straight away, in fact, you’ll have an approximately 1x hour
storyline tutorial in Canto Bight to start, followed by around 2-3 hours of prologue quests
on Toshara if you stick just to the main quests… You’ll then leave Tosharas orbit and this is when
the game is fully open to you as you can choose to travel to the remaining 3x planets in any order
you wish, with no restrictions on when you leave… That said, there’s no New Game+ in Outlaws, so if you don’t want to power through the main
story quests and take your time exploring, then that’s fine, because each
region is like its own individual open world map… with the same world activities
to do in each one, so you’re not missing out… Which is a nice segway into some exploration
tips and world restrictions you definitely 9 | World Restrictions - Star Wars Outlaws need to know about… and that's because
you’ll come across certain areas early on in your playthrough, which you just
can’t access without a special ability… The first important one being the ability to
slice computers and locks throughout the game… Now, to get this skill, which I recommend
you make a priority btw… is to focus on the main questline in Toshara until
Danka gives you the “New Tricks” quest, which will allow you to recruit the Slicer expert… Now after you do and fulfil
the slicers quest requirements, you’ll be able to unlock almost
everything and earn rewards early on… Secondly, on Toshara there's rubble walls
you’ll need to blow open with your blaster… You can only do that after upgrading your
blaster with the power module thanks to the ND-5 quest on Kijimi, so I’d recommend
visiting that planet after Toshara… I’d then recommend to make your way to Akiva
where you’ll realise very quickly you won't be able to use your speeder over deep water,
so focus on the main storyline again here as you’ll get the upgrade quest very quickly
after landing and don't do what I did, which is ignore the main questline and
try and figure a way around it lol… Now, Syndicates, they are the most important 8 | Syndicates Mechanic Explained - Star Wars Outlaws mechanic in this game and there’s a few
important things here you need to know… The first being that you won’t be able
to see all 4x syndicates in your menu until you visit the planet of Kijimi,
which will unlock the Ashiga clan… As you play through the storyline and side quests
in game, you’ll be able to make personal decisions that subsequently increases or decreases
your reputation with that syndicate, with the reputational metre having 5x levels… those
being terrible, bad, poor, good and excellent… Now, in the name of Star Wars science, I have
maxed out all syndicate reputation metres to terrible and also to the excellent level and
nothing significantly game changing happens here in terms of story… but the
open world does respond to you very differently depending upon who likes you
and who doesn't… which we’ll go over next,… But what I would say, as you begin your
playthrough, is don’t fret about the reputational decreases or increases as they
happen or you’re subsequently forced into.., they’re very easily reversible and you should make the choice that is most fun for you
without worrying too much about it… Now, if you’ve learnt something new
or are enjoying the video so far, please do leave a swift like down below, as
it really helps me out so thanks very much… That said, some syndicates are better than
others in terms of the rewards they offer you, 7 | Reputation Tips & Tricks - Star Wars Outlaws as well as the opportunities
they provide throughout the game… In fact, I would highly recommend you
work on trying to get all syndicate reputational metres to “good” overall
and there’s a few reasons for this… Being at a Good reputation allows you
to freely move around all their faction areas across the different planets, which
you can’t enter when your rep is poor… This then allows you to accept new
quests, barter with new vendors, which sell upgrades at a discount
for your gear, speeder and ship… You’ll also be able to fast travel to each of these areas… which you can’t
do if you’re in poor standing… And if you reach Excellent
reputation with Syndicates, you will access the Crest rewards for each
faction, which are charms that offer you passive bonuses in your loadout, which have
a positive compounding effect overtime… Not only that, but if you continue to play in
a balanced way, you’ll also be able to bribe NPCs with your reputation instead of money or
credits, which is free and another great benefit, so all reps to Good and up is
the way to go early game imo… Which is a great transition into
open world activities because… 6 | Open World Activities - Star Wars Outlaws Another reason why you want to have
a Good rep level with a syndicate is, because inside every syndicate area
is a secret vault where they keep 5k credits as well as gear upgrades…
All you need to do is find the vault, accept the intel quest after interacting with
the computer near it and collect the 3x data keycards which are shown on your map…
This is a good way to get money early on as well as explore the game
so I recommend giving this a go… I’d also suggest waiting on clearing the
Imperial bases when you come across them, as you visit them on each planet via the main
questline, so I ended up clearing a few bases twice over… with no loot on the 2nd clearance
via the story, so 2x birds and 1x stone there… You can also clear pirate camps, which aren't
affiliated with any faction and are usually random events, which offer good materials and
upgrades, in fact, if you kill the arriving stormtroopers first, the pirates are currently
bugged out standing on top of each other which 1x grenade will sort out, so if you see it pop on
your map, it’ll take you 2x mins for good rewards… Now, on top of all of this, there’s
a couple things you need to be aware 5 | Wanted System Tips & Tricks - Star Wars Outlaws of about this wanted system at
the start of your playthrough… First of all, it's specific only to the
Empire and not the syndicates, in fact, when you decrease your reputation level to
terrible with the syndicates, they will send hired kill squads after you as you can see here,
which is similar but different to this mechanic… Because if you antagonise the empire
by entering restricted areas, stealing items in front of stormtroopers or killing
them, you’ll end up gaining a wanted level, which will eventually drop off after
several minutes, or you can slice an imperial terminal to remove yourself, bribe a
corrupt officer in a city or hyperjump to space… That said, if you reach max level, you’ll need
to kill the death trooper squad, which lands in a fortified specific area on the map… and
until you take the keycard from the ISB officer and remove your manhunt status via the
computer, you’ll be permanently wanted by the empire and they will search for you,
which can be problematic gameplay wise… You also get a Death Trooper helmet for your
speeder and an achievement for doing this btw… Now, I briefly mentioned the Slicer expert
earlier regarding important ability unlocks 4 | Best Abilities to get Early (Experts) - Star Wars Outlaws for world restrictions, but as you progress
through the game there will be a few intel quests popping up in your quest log about
unlocking new experts that will offer you actionable in-game challenges, which
will then reward you with a new ability… Some of these are better than others of course,
but there’s a couple here you should focus on obtaining sooner rather than later as you
can unlock these all on Toshara very early… The first is the Armoured Undershirt from the
already unlocked Bartender, which can be unlocked by purchasing or looting these materials
from vendors and increasing your health… The second is the Lightfooted ability from The
Slicer, which reduces the noise Kay makes when sprinting, which is super overpowered
and allows for fast stealth takedowns… And the third is the Scoundrel’s Pouch from The
Mechanic, which will increase your Bacta vials capacity and grenade storage, which is great
to have early doors, with the Mechanic also offering the speed boost upgrade for your speeder,
which is a no brainer when exploring, super fun… Now, when it comes to gear and upgrades, Outlaws
is a little different in this open world as stats 3 | Gear & Upgrades - Star Wars Outlaws aren't visible so it's hard to recognise the
impact they truly play when it comes to gameplay… That said, there’s only 3x gear
loadout slots available to you here… Those being chest, belt and pants with
your blaster having 3x different shooting modes upgradeable at the workbench, those
also being the Plasma module for damage, the Ion module to breakdown enemy
shields and droids and the Power bolt module used to breakdown walls and
blow stuff up, as we spoke about earlier… Now, each of the 3x wearable gear pieces will
come with a variety of unique stat boosts on them, with certain gear sets activating an
additional buff when you equip all 3x, such as this ISB outfit I unlocked
by maxing out my Pyke reputation, which allows me to lose my wanted level
quicker and avoid detection by Imperials… It's also important to note that this gear
piece is called “superior” and that's the stuff you’re after, so prioritise that as
the game's hidden stats on superior gear is way better than the standard gear
pieces, which is reflected in combat… Now, as for vehicles, the same kind of mechanics
apply here for them, where after you’re able to 2 | Vehicles & Transmog Tips & Tricks - Star Wars Outlaws fly your ship, as well as unlock the speeder
vendor for upgrades through the main quest line earlier on in Toshara, you’ll be able to
improve the handling and speed of both vehicles by cashing in the materials you’ve looted around
the world as well as purchased from vendors, as the game tells you need that item
when hovering your cursor over it... As for your Trailblazer ship, if you do plan
to head out into the orbit of each planet, you’ll find an assortment of activities not
too dissimilar from the world activities on the main planets, the only main difference is you’re
dogfighting in space compared to gunslinging on land, so if you plan to do a lot of space faring,
prioritise your metal materials to upgrade your ship as being able to dominate in space early
on will make things a lot easier for you.. You can also transmog the appearance of your
gear, Nix, speeder, blaster and your ship, you just need to head into the loadout menu and
press the change appearance button here, and you can change how you look without sacrificing
your stats, no need to visit any vendor to do so… Now, if this is your first Ubisoft game, there
are several secret and optional settings you 1 | Secret Settings - Star Wars Outlaws can turn on in the menu, which may make your time
with Outlaws less frustrating and more enjoyable… First of all, you can save the game
with your own save slots at any time, so I’d recommend doing this before
you decide to leave each planet or when you first arrive, just in
case you ever want to go back… In fact, the game autosaves a lot, so if
you find yourself losing reputation with a syndicate and you didn't mean to, just load an
autosave a few minutes before and you’ll be fine… There's also a huge amount of
lockpicking and slicing in this game, which can get tedious and annoying,
so you can have them all autocomplete, but just be aware that by turning this
off, it will affect the progress of your completionist trophy, so perhaps
turn it on after you’ve got that… Additionally, when you’re in combat
and use your blaster too much, it will overheat and you’ll need to time this
mini game correctly for it to reload faster… That also can get annoying, so you can have this
turned to autocomplete every time if you want to… Now, I’ve made another helpful video like
this one with even more tips & tricks, Thanks Reloads Club so give that a click on
your screen or TV right now, so you can get even more out of this awesome
game and I’ll see you there in just a second… My thanks to Nika for helping me in early access
to make this video for you and coffee is on me.
