>>> DONALD TRUMP AND JD VANCE WANTS TO DISMANTLE OUR HEALTHCARE SYSTEM, REPEAL THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT, AND ELIMINATE SECTIONS FOR PRE- EXISTING CONDITIONS. EITHER THESE GUYS DON'T GET IT, OR THEY JUST DON'T CARE.>>> THE NEW MEXICO GOVERNOR MADE HEALTHCARE CENTRAL TO HER ADDRESS LAST MONTH AT THE CONVENTION IN CHICAGO. DURING TUESDAY'S DEBATE, FORMER PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP REOPENED THE DISCUSSION ABOUT REPEALING THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT, SAYING HE HAS "CONCEPTS OF A PLAN." WHAT IS YOUR RESPONSE TO HOW FORMER PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP HANDLED THE QUESTIONS AT THE DEBATE?>> HE DIDN'T ANSWER IT, CONCEPTS, HE HAS NONE, HE WOULD BE WELL PREPARED TO TALK ABOUT IT, I WAS IN CONGRESS FOR MOST OF OUR BOATS EVERY DAY. IT HAD DO WITH DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY REPEALING THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT. LATE SENATOR McCAIN SAID NO TO REPEALING THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT, UNDERSTANDING WHAT IT DOES TO MIDDLE-CLASS, MINORITY AMERICANS WHO HAVE EXPANDED COVERAGE OVER THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT. THERE IS NOT A PLAN, THEY DON'T BELIEVE HEALTHCARE IS A RIGHTS. IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE THAT INCREDIBLY CLEAR, ONCE AGAIN. >> VICE PRESIDENT HARRIS CLASHED WITH TRUMP ON THE DEBATE STAGE ON THE ISSUE OF ABORTION RIGHTS. HOW IS THAT ISSUE PLAYING OUT ON THE GROUND IN TERMS OF VOTER CONVERSATIONS WITH YOU, AND WITH OTHER DEMOCRATS? IS IT REALLY A TOP ISSUE IN TERMS OF DRIVING DEMOCRATIC TURNOUT AND WINNING OVER OTHER VOTERS?>> ABSOLUTELY IT IS, AND IT HAS BEEN. NEW MEXICO HAS BEEN VERY FORWARD LEANING, IN TERMS OF MAKING SURE WE ARE A PLACE WHERE WOMEN ALL ACROSS AMERICA CAN SEEK PRODUCTIVE HEALTHCARE, ABORTION CARE, AND AFTERCARE. WE HAVE A NATIONAL HOTLINE SO YOU CAN REACH US, I JUST DID A GROUNDBREAKING FOR A CLINIC, WE ARE PAYING FOR CONSTRUCTION AND CAPITAL WORK. THIS IS A PRIMARY CARE ISSUE, THIS IS HOW YOU DO CONTRACEPTIVES, CANCER SCREENINGS, AND OTHER HEALTHCARE SCREENINGS, THIS IS HOW YOU TREAT WOMEN OF ALL AGES, AND THEIR FAMILIES, AND WE ARE CLEAR, IN RURAL PARTS OF THE COUNTRY, THIS IS PIVOTAL TO OVERALL WOMEN'S HEALTH, IT SAVES LIVES, IT IS A VERY CLEAR ISSUE HERE, AND I THINK MOST MEXICANS UNEQUIVOCALLY TAKE TRUMP AT HIS WORD, AND HIS LACK OF ABILITY IN THE DEBATE. WE BELIEVE HE WILL BAN ABORTION IN THIS COUNTRY, THAT HE IS SQUARELY ON THAT SIDE, THAT HE HAS NO UNDERSTANDING OF THE RISK TO THE WOMEN'S HEALTH, AND THEIR REPRODUCTIVE FREEDOMS, AND FRANKLY, I SAID IT IN MY ADDRESS, I DON'T THINK, ULTIMATELY, THAT THEY CARE ABOUT THE INTERNAL WELL-BEING AND HEALTH. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE MENTAL ITEMS. IT IS A VERY CRITICAL ISSUE IN MEXICO. >> GOVERNOR, DO DEBATES MATTER? ESPECIALLY THE LAST DEBATE BETWEEN HARRIS AND TRUMP, MANY DEMOCRATS FEEL SHE HAD A COMMANDING PERFORMANCE, NOW THE FORMER PRESIDENT SAYS HE WILL NOT DISSIPATE IN ANOTHER DEBATE, IT DOES FEEL LIKE WE ARE LIVING IN AN EPISODIC MOMENT IN AMERICAN POLITICS, THE NATIONAL VOTER MEMORY ABOUT THESE ISSUES, PRESIDENT BIDEN'S EXIT AND THE ASSASSINATION ATTEMPTS TENDS TO BE FLEETING IN TERMS OF CONVERSATIONS ON THE GROUND. WHAT DO YOU THINK THE LONG-TERM IMPACT WILL BE, IF ANY?>> GOOD QUESTION, I'M NOT SURE WHAT THE LONG-TERM IMPACT IS. FIRST, I AGREE WITH YOU, THERE IS AN ONSLAUGHT OF MISINFORMATION AND DISINFORMATION FROM THE INTERNET TO MEDIA, IT IS EVERYWHERE, I THINK IT IS OVERWHELMING TO MOST FOLKS, THEY HAD ONE, TWO, OR 10 ISSUES THAT THEY ARE FOLLOWING, TO FEEL LIKE THEY HAVE THE FACTS THEY NEED. VOTERS LIKE BEING UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL TO THE CANDIDATE THAT THEY ARE BEING ASKED TO VOTE FOR. CERTAINLY I'M SEEING THE VICE PRESIDENT REALLY DO AN AMAZING JOB GETTING THROUGH THE BATTLEGROUND STATES, GETTING TO VOTERS, TALKING ABOUT THE ISSUES, THE PLANS, THE MESSAGES, LIFTING THE MIDDLE CLASS, MOVING FORWARD, BELIEVING IN THE AMERICAN DREAM STARTS WITH BELIEVING IN AMERICA. IN THE DEBATE, THE FORMER PRESIDENT SAID WE WERE A FAILED NATION, I BRISTLE WHEN I HAVE ANYONE SAY ANYTHING LIKE THAT, I BELIEVE IN THIS COUNTRY, WE ARE ALL PATRIOTIC, WE LOVE THIS COUNTRY, AND WE KNOW THAT YOU CAN CREATE AN AGENDA AND BETTER DAYS, BUT YOU HAVE HER - - BUT YOU BETTER HAVE A VISION FOR THAT. HER COMMANDING PERFORMANCE I THINK CREATED NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE TO REALLY WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT HER VISION FOR AMERICA, AND I THINK IT SHOWED ONCE AGAIN THAT TRUMP HAS NO PLAN OR VISION, AND IS AN ANGRY, SHALLOW INDIVIDUAL, WHO IS PROMOTING AND MOVING TOWARD PROJECT 2025, NO MATTER HOW HE TRIES TO DISAVOW IT, BECAUSE HIS ACTIONS ARE COMPLETELY THE REVERSE OF THAT. HE WANTS THIS SORT OF REVENGE, IT'S ALL PERSONAL. SHE MADE THE CASE THAT HER JOB AS VICE PRESIDENT, AND HER FUTURE JOB, IF ELECTED, IS TO CARE ABOUT THE REST OF US. IN THAT REGARD, I THINK IT'S REALLY CREATIVE, THE TYPE OF MOMENTUM AND OPENNESS FOR VOTERS WHO ARE UNDECIDED TO REALLY LOOK CAREFULLY NOW AT THE VICE PRESIDENT.>> QUICKLY, IN THE FINAL SECONDS HERE, GOVERNOR, WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE FORMER PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP - - WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE MAGA COME TO NEW MEXICO? OR DO YOU HAVE THE WIN COVERED ON YOUR OWN? >> I FEEL REALLY GOOD, ROBERT, I DO, GIVEN HER POSITIONS ON SOME THE ISSUES, REPRODUCTIVE FREEDOMS, TAX BREAKS FOR THE MIDDLE CLASS, INVESTMENTS IN SMALL BUSINESSES, AFFORDABLE HOUSING, THESE ARE KEY ISSUES IN NEW MEXICO, I THINK THAT RESONATES, OF COURSE NEW MEXICO WOULD LOVE TO HAVE THE VICE PRESIDENT HERE, I THINK SHE WOULD HAVE A VERY STRONG, WARM RECEPTION. IF I WERE A CAMPAIGN STRATEGIST, I WOULD CERTAINLY WANT TO DEBATES, AND THEY ARE BATTLEGROUND STATES, WINNING THIS ELECTION, BEING VERY CLEAR ABOUT WHERE THE MARGINS ARE. TODAY, WITH RECENT POLLING, WE ARE SEEING NEW MEXICO CONTINUE TO MOVE. I FEEL GOOD, BUT THERE IS NOT OF VOTER ANYWHERE THAT DOESN'T WANT TO SEE THE CANDIDATES IN THEIR HOME STATES AND HOMETOWNS, AND THE VAST MAJORITY, IN MY VIEW, NEW MEXICANS WOULD BE VERY EXCITED TO SEE VICE PRESIDENT HARRIS WORK GOVERNOR TIM WALZ, RIGHT HERE IN OUR FAIR, FINE, BEAUTIFUL STATE.>> IT IS A FAIR, FINE, ESTATE, I DO BELIEVE YOUR NEIGHBOR, ARIZONA MIGHT GET A LITTLE BIT MORE ATTENTION THIS TIME AROUND.>> I'M HAPPY TO TRAVEL THERE AND MAKE THE CASE MYSELF. I LOVE ARIZONA, NOT THE SAME AS NEW MEXICO, BUT GOVERNOR HOBBS IS A GREAT LEADER, THERE
