lot to talk about I mean seriously seriously first and foremost though this team is the team to watch in the NL Wild Card Race Chicago cuups are still four games out whether they make the playoffs or not they are making it fun and you know who's making it really really fun Pete Crow Armstrong he has finally arrived just just it's a wonder what it looks like when this guy gets opportunities opportunities Craig cril David Ross this dude right here after being jerked around for bu of his young career up and down in the miners out of the out of the major so on and so forth uh this dude is a defensive Beast defensive Beast last night this dude had at least three clap catches that were just worth being in the top 10 on ESPN sports center including the Game ending robbery of a home run because even if the Home Run had gotten through the cut it would have been up by one run but I mean this kid is something else he even had a gold glove center fielder and Cody Bellinger sitting out there just looking at him like man I can't believe what I'm watching I cannot believe what I'm watching that cast just slid and caught it like the commentator didn't even know how to celebrate he was just like wow like wow so was I I mean like this dude is something else he is something else and shout out to sh imaga even though he got roughed up for three home runs those are the only runs he gave up he outplayed Yamamoto last night the Cubs rallied uh had a big eighth inning to take care of business and get this win over a really really good really really good LA Dodgers team now the Dodgers didn't do themselves any favors by um by just having um three errors and those erors were bananas uh they're pretty good in their division four and a half gam they should be fine they should be able to hold off to San Diego Padres so no no sweat off their back good thing that the Cubs are on the road taking care of business but that eighth inning the Cubs hey they put up five runs in the eighth inning and that was that was all she wrote that was all she wrote imanaga ends up getting a win in a game that it didn't look like he was going to get the win for the first time pretty much all season the Cubs picked him up and allowed him to get a victory in the game in which he wasn't his best uh seven Innings pitch seven hits three earned runs four strikeouts no walks good save for my namesake HJ out there taking care of business as well but the Cubs took care of business the bull pin and the offense got going when they needed to they took advantage of the mistakes that the Dodgers made that's all you can ask for and guess what the Cubs are now 37 and 37 on the road it was that point in the season where they didn't look good at home or on the road now they've improved to 75 and 70 four games out of the Wild Card San Diego lost last night so matter of fact let me see let me pull up the U the standings real quick I cuz these guys man like even like I said even if they the playoffs they're making the end of the season really really fun it makes me wish they above 500 or 500 baseball are better uh throughout the early parts of the season because they had a strong ail May uh June and July and then they've been really good from August forward so the Chicago CS are four games back uh the Mets lost last night there we go the let the Mets lost even though the Atlanta Braves did win the Cubs did pick up a game they picked up a game and that's all you can ask for is for this team to keep scratching and clawing so they're above 500 at home now they're 500 on the road plus 62 and plus minus uh in in the Run differential so it's just a team that you got to watch every single night when they came into this series I said they had to sweep the Dodgers and they are on the verge of sweeping the Dodgers I I can't believe it like they've already won a series that's what they need to do after losing the last two series that they played and now they find themselves in a situ ation where they can sweep the Dodgers I mean who would have thought coming into this series going out west and now that their schedule is about to go into a part where they can pick up major ground not just in the wild card but also in the division now that's a little too farfetched uh right now to say I know some people are looking like come on man like the division yes even in the division we know the Cubs had what a six seven game lead at this point last season and they um you know they blew it so it's not like it's not possible it's not like it's not possible the Milwaukee Brewers have a eight and a half game lead on the Cubs right now uh but the Cubs hey if they go into this NE this this situation right here where they if they sweep the the Dodgers tonight which is still no giving Jordan Wicks on the mound tonight uh good luck to him he's been pitching pretty well since he got back from injury but then they play Colorado three times the Oakland A's three times and the Washington Nationals four times that has all the making of a possibility for a 10 game win streak all it takes is for Milwaukee to lose a couple of games but we're more focused on the wild card right now the Cubs find themselves on a they win tonight they can find themselves on a 13 game win streak before they go on the road versus Philly uh late in September and then the close out the season versus Cincinnati so if they find themselves on a 13 game win streak oh they will be in squarely in the playoffs that's why I said earlier this season this is the most irritating team the most frustrating team in all of the majors simply because of all of these things they're showing what they're capable of now defense is showing up pitching is showing up coaching is making the right decisions and it was really irritating to watch them get shut out a couple of times uh three out of five games last week I mean come on but the offense has been they been doing the right things at the right times I can't give I can't be mad at them for that cannot be mad at them for that but Pete Crow Armstrong is a stud this dude is going to be a stud for many years to come especially if he stays healthy defensively go glove go glove simple as that plain as simple offensively he's going to be there he's going to get 30 plus 40 plus stolen bases as long as he has the opportunity to play every day now I know ain't nobody going to be KY Ripken Jr and even when everybody gets rest so on and so forth but this dude needs to play at least 140 games next year if he's healthy and let's see what he can do with a full full season an actual full season because he's showing us now that he now that he's had true opportunities offensively and defensively he's here to stay he's here to stay love what I'm seeing from P Crow Armstrong love what I'm seeing from Sha em managa who probably isn't going to be the Rookie of the Year because paulski has it locked up as the Pittsburgh Pirate I get it but shout out to these guys shout out to Bellinger and Bush as well playing against their former team Michael Bush did some good things again last night Cody Bellinger as well it's it's just been fun to watch it's been fun to watch and if they don't make the playoffs this year if they don't that's okay because next season this team is ripe Prime to to for for a strong year a strong year in which they should win the n Central and they will make the playoffs so I'm excited to see it man I'm very very excited to see it I know you are too as Cub fan so hey do not look away do not look away 17 games left and these guys have a lot to show the world so let us know what y'all think down below should do the Cubs have a chance are they still going to make the playoffs an interesting race or the end the Wild Card an interesting race down the stretch especially with that schedule they have in front of them I say yes and I say they'll find themselves in the Wild Card uh they they have their Destiny in their hands man like Atlanta's not going to win every game the Mets had their win streak uh the Cubs can go on the win streak just like the Mets did we talked about it earlier this year uh teams going six seven eight game win streaks Cubs haven't G gone more than I think what six so let's see them get on a nine 10 game win streak to end this series and make it really really really tight in
