just want to open up yeah yeah I'm obviously disappointed at the outcome um you know we did some things early you know the two turnovers in the first half were were tough for our team to overcome we couldn't really do enough offensively to to break through on them uh they're a very good football team and so um we feel like we have a good football team as well today wasn't the outcome we wanted uh but we'll we'll go back to work and we're looking forward to coming home the next three weeks obviously you guys talked you thought you were confident that you you could have a good performance here where was the disconnect you think well you have to you have to go out and make plays and do the things you need to do and we didn't do that in the first half we had some drops on third down uh we couldn't stop him a couple times and we turned the ball over uh you know we had the punt and then uh you know we had the long interception and so you know those are things you got to play clean you know we talked we were very clear about what we had to do to win this game and we weren't we weren't able to do it and so um it's a good football team you know I think I think we have some good young players I think we're a young a work in progress in the preseason and I think we'll get better every week so I'm I'm excited about that if you look at the one highlight Justin goes for 100 yard against the defense that ranked third nationally last year against the rush what did you see out of that I felt like there were things that we had to do today that were going to help us the rest of the season win or lose I know everybody's not happy with the outcome but we will be a better football team and I'm determined from what I saw from our kids today what we had to do today was we had to try to control the game and control the clock and not let their Playmakers run wild and that's tough when they have that many players and so um they're a good football team they do that to a lot of people and so we have to do a better job of crowning them and we have to do a better job of finishing drives yeah but it's specifically about Justin he goes for 100 yards what does that tell you about that young back in this no we feel confident that Justin can run the football and that we can run the football and that's you know not many people did that against Texas a year ago so that is a bright spot and um you know we need to do more things to convert and to finish drives and and obviously we didn't do that today was it kind of a Snowball Effect like you said you were kind of keeping close there and then all of a sudden that there's the pick there's a long pun return they ter touchdowns and low a fairly close game really quickly on RS yeah I mean they got they got explosive players that can make plays in a hurry and so we talked about their speed and how we can control their speed and we didn't do enough of it today you know and that's what happens when you play really talented people and so um you know I'm not discouraged at all um you know we didn't play as well as we could have today and what we needed to to to make this a more competitive game but I do know this win or lose we had to move on from this day and we have to go go forward and that's what we got to do how disappoint was it that an offense that you guys think has a lot of weapons a lot of potential wasn't able to move with much consistency obviously not find the end zone yeah we didn't we didn't make enough explosive play a day and you know they were they were doubling Tory which we knew we we were going to get um we needed some more guys to step up away from him and we got some pressure in the pocket so that that was tough on Braden to stand in there and throw and drop back so we've got to do a better job of that um I'm still I'm still encouraged that we have a lot of Playmakers and we'll be able to score points this year so that hasn't changed is the important thing how you react to this and bounce back next week absolutely yeah I think win or lose we needed to move forward with and and and really regroup and go after what we can do in the future and so I mean that's what we have to do and uh you know really today today doesn't change anything for us moving forward on that punt did it seemed like Patty thought it was going to get blocked and decided to make a play is that no Patty had an option to run the ball if he had a certain look and you know he just didn't he didn't he didn't execute it with enough confidence and and uh you know and that's something that he's got ability to do and you know I'll take responsibility for that and um and the turnover with Braden and um you know it's just it's tough It's just a very small margin of error when you play talented people like this and we just were on the wrong side of it so he has a green light with it's a certain one he did on that one yeah what's your kind of evaluation on the defense overall kind of held in early I got to look at the film but I mean we didn't do enough offensively to help him um you know you got to manage the big plays and that's something that we didn't do enough of today and so you know I'll take a look at the tape and and we'll see obviously we didn't we didn't we weren't stingy enough defensively and we didn't help them by scoring enough and make it a competitive game so you know it was a little bit of both sides good thanks
