FAMU Rattlers ESCAPED Week 0 Against Norfolk State, Will RATTLERS REPEAT

were you not entertained in week zero Mex swack challenge between North forol State University versus FAMU I got to be honest with you they gave the fans something that they've been waiting for and that was for the football season to kick off and guys I know many of you out there excited the fact that the football season is here no more smack talking going on in the background so everybody trying to figure out exactly who's going to do what when why where so on and so forth we here now and guess what people got to put up a set up it's no more just selling these wolf tickets trying to get everybody to understand exactly what's going on what your team got popping off so on and so forth right now the time is now and guess what you got to put your best foot forward week after week after week after week after week to let everybody know that this thing is real and the question I got to ask is with the family rapers wee well guess what they start off on the right foot against North Folk state but guys we going to talk about exactly how everything going to turn out because the question I got to ask now is Will these two teams be coming back to Atlanta oh we see two other on in this thing cuz like coach what you got going on Hey listen the coach is finally coming down off the honeymoon and and getting the kids back to college and all this other stuff you know my last job went off to college man I don't know what to say right now I'm really uh um I'm really just trying to collect myself I'm not I'm not I'm not I'm not sad I'm not you know I didn't even cry when she went went away to college that's kind of spooky but I'm going to be honest with you uh my oldest boy he graduated from college uh in May my middle son he's over at Fort Valley he's going into his third year my daughter's going into her freshman year so guys we going to go ahead and make this thing work you know what I'm saying but like I said I'm so proud of my kids I just don't know what to do it myself I am one happy uh father as well as a happy husband so I'm just going to go ahead and do what I to do and which is entertain you and we going to go ahead get on in this thing because I'm like I know yall like coach we don't want to hear about all this stuff what you got going on with your personals we don't care nothing about all that I I get it I get it I'm going give y'all the football content that you waiting for so we go get on in this thing but you know what I gotta be honest with you Northfork state in this game they had that Southern University mentality when it came to running the ball and they Rush the ball for over 200 yards in the game and I mean FAMU defense they looked a lot suspect in the first half I got to listen when they finally settled down and said listen we're going to cut out all of the stunting going on up there on on the on the line of scrimmage we're just going to play football when they got into that space of just playing football they came out there and was lights out with it got you got to give them props as far as what's going on now I'm going to be real with you FAMU gave North Folk State University opportunities to win the game in which Northfolk they could not take advantage of the opportunities and guess what in games like this you have to do just that why do I say that well I'm going give you a couple examples when you got people coming up to the line of scrimmage and you trying to go for two points I don't need to see you doing this trying to get the crowd engag I need you to get your behind down on the line of scrimmage get set so we can run this freaking play and make sure you got your assignment down pack not allowing anybody to get in the back field screw up my dad on play that's what we need to see not only that not not only that but I I like I like how FAMU uh uh uh FAMU receivers was out there cooking man listen this one young man I got I gotta get this young man this props because there's nowhere in the world you got one man out here cooking like he was cooking out here on this field uh uh Saturday night I mean Jamari Gatson excuse me Jamari Gasson oh my God that kid there is going to be special this season I mean coach odm forgive me for saying this but I'm be real with you defensive backs y'all was watch y'all was doing too much watching and not paying attention to what's going on you were biting on plays trying to make a play it got to the point to where folks want to play Hero ball instead of just playing Team ball and do what you need to do you're starting to sit on routes which Gatson was just oh I mean blow just blowing by you double step heesy who out of there he up the field 10 yards you're not catching him money shot touchdown and this man had what eight receptions for 110 yards two touchdowns I mean Daniel Richardson was putting that thing out there and I mean even when you had opportunities to uh uh slow Richardson down he still find a way to make a play and I mean that's what it's about in these type of games I mean it was it was a muddy game it was a murky game one of them games that normally you would see when coach Odin was over at sou over at Southern University coach you would normally see him walk up out of there with a game like that from time to time and in this instance it just didn't happen um like I said it was too much losing focus out there on the field where players just look like they were I don't know if it was the heat you know heat exhaustion that caused you to start you know thinking one thing and something else is going on and all of a sudden you getting discombobulated and you don't understand what's going on but I got to be real with you coach odms you got a quarterback on your hands that you're going to need to let that young man let that ball fly Jaylen Daniels I mean he threw the ball on the day he threw it nine times complete and seven for 142 yards he got sacked two times one of the dagone incompletions in the game was um it no it was it wasn't that one it was uh he ended up getting sacked before he get before he got a chance to throw the ball but the young man had two incompletions in the game now I understand you're trying to make sure that uh he just manages the game but you got a quarterback that can get out there in ball yes you want to keep him um you want to keep him in Pocket where you allow him to manage the game to keep him from letting the game get out of control when FAMU got to the when FAMU got uh uh to the point where they were putting more men in the Box forcing you to Dag on throw the ball or bet had challenge in your run and you going three and out or five and out or whatever have you that was a time that you guys need to make an adjustment and and make it happen and I saw you guys were able to do that like later later on in the game but that third quarter was crucial in keeping you guys down in which fam you got that lead and they sat on it but um honestly truly Northfolk State they like I said before they had opportunities to win the game they missed those opportunities one was the Miss field goal before the first half fourth and two you couldn't you know you snap the ball to go ahead and kick a field goal the holder couldn't hold on to the ball um and you lose points on that one turn around we come back in the fourth quarter you go for uh two-point conversion and I I get why you go for two-point conversion so a lot of the players start falling out out there on the field that's understood a lot of players fall out on the field due to heat exhaustion so that's understood why you know coach made that call I don't have any issues with that but again it's just the missed opportunities the it's just the I call them brain farts it's the brain farts at the wrong time which kind of cost North Folk state that game um I mean it like like I said before you you you just can't have that I mean you got uh uh kavan King ball 14 times for 146 yards two touchdowns and this kid averaged 10.4 yards per carry especially off that 82 yard touchdown run that he had in was it in the first was it the first quarter uh the first time they got the ball they hand the ball off to him he take off he gone um and Xavion Evans you know he had Xavion Evans had 55 uh yards rushing the ball 12 times and he was averaging 4.6 yards per car so looking at what um what North State got going on over there they they're going to be a pretty formidable team against other opponents especially in the m and other teams that they play this upcoming season now one thing I say about this the running game for FAMU boy Uh Kevin Dean you almost gave one away big baby you dropped that thing on the ground boy like it was a hot potato like man I hey this thing too hot I don't want to hold on to it but I uh I I like this young man's tenacity because he he got back out there on the field after the fumble happened and he wanted the ball back he wanted the ball in his hands to show his team that they can count on him and make some things happen so I salute him for that as well he rushed the ball uh Le times for 49 yards uh you had Thad Franklin uh he also rushed the ball eight times for 38 yards so they was getting the ball going they was getting things moving with that running game so I want to see exactly how things going to pan out this upcoming season if fam is going to become uh past first team especially with Daniel richson being able to get out there and throw the ball for 286 yard be able to get out there throw the ball for 286 yards on 30 attempts with 22 completions three touchdowns so you got to salute that young man as far as what he was able to get out there and do as well but the DBS on fam you you guys had issues just like uh North Folk State University DBS had issues as well as far as with getting caught looking in the back field trying to make plays I understand this is week zero where there's going to be a lot of you know things that you know you know a lot of nuances here and there is going to need to be fixed and changed as you know as the season go on things will get a lot better as the weeks progress so I'm not worried about that but first glance you're sitting there looking like guys come on you got to keep your eyes on what's going on in front of you and not allow anyone to get past you especially if you are the last line of defense out there on the field so with that being said I give Coach Coy uh I give I give him an a for uh being able to make the initial adjustments early on it seems it seems as though he has the attention of the athletes on the field especially with all of the new players that he brought into the fabul rless football program that's looking to make sure they're able to get out there and repeat as champions again this upcoming season uh like I said before uh FAMU plays uh South Carolina State this week at the brag it's going to be a lot on the line history is on the line we're gonna see exactly how everything turns out especially between these two teams because you know what these two teams nor when they get together they have one physical game that's out there on the field and we're going to see exactly how all this turns out this is going to be coach uh shenis Barry uh first season as the head football coach for South Carolina State University as well as um coach cozy is going into his second game as the uh head football coach for the family rattles football program so this is going to be a great game to watch this upcoming season I am waiting to see how all of this turns out and like I stated before coach Willie Simmons got a winning record at home going on right now they trying to extend that streak right now is at 20 will it be 21 we going to find out
