welcome to day three we are here in oos Rios Jamaica the last time I was here in Jamaica was about 10 or 11 years ago on the Freedom of the Seas so I'm happy to be back today we are going to the Ryu Hotel Beach and Resort it's an allinclusive I got it on uh the resort for a day website and the most attractive thing about the resort to me was not only the all inclusive drinks but the transportation is included from the ship and is about $70 so we're going to get some mud water from the Leal Marketplace and then head off the ship and head over to the resort already I can tell that you wouldn't need to go far uh I could see a couple beaches here I think there's like a Margaritaville right off the uh the port as well and there's also like all this beach front down here so if you're not comfortable going far in Jamaica then looks like there's some nearby options as well [Music] and we're off in Jamaica now I got to find these you know the third party Resort guys are always it's always a scavenger hunt finding these guys in the port so we'll see what I can do maybe do some exploring along the way I do only have about 15 minutes to get to them so hopefully there's no problems looks like we have a taxi uh list price here you can pause and uh zoom in on wherever you're going to get a fair taxi price so it looks like it ranges anywhere from like 10 to 50 us for taxi and this is per person so it can be quite expensive okay apparently we're looking for a guy holding a resort for a day sign so just kind of walk around here and try not to get lost okay I found it funny thing is it's like go through this International building there's not even an international building here so I don't know if those instructions were for another Port but I found the guy I'm checked in and we're just waiting for everyone else before we go so right outside the gate you literally come off the ship here are all the tour buses here and I guess the like third party private guys are just down here but it's all inside the uh the gate here there's a the gate over there where they control the access to tours so um doesn't look like there's much around here to like walk to but uh that's just my first impression I'm not actually sure okay we're here at the Rio resort okay I'm going to just give you guys some information first the when we were getting a drive over here the driver said that it's like a 2-minute walk from the port to the main street in oos Ros so it is very walkable and then uh also I lied this Resort cost 120 for the day pass so I think I paid a 40 deposit earlier and I thought it was around 70 something but let's go find where the pool is I'm all checked in and we'll check out the beach here look at this wow that is beautiful water's so calm today oh man looks like there's a nice little bar here you stop by there later but if there's one closer to the pool that would be great I did see that there's swim up bars I did get Wi-Fi as well so I'll be checking in with Kayla soon okay pool bar this way we're finding our way looks like they have some nice little pool bar set up there we'll check it out in a minute I don't know it doesn't look still kind of early so I don't know if everything's open right now but I saw people having breakfast so probably get a little snack beautiful Resort this is a five-star Resort uh from what I can remember it's why it was kind of costly in my opinion oh yeah check this out oh nice I have a ramp too for anyone who needs a accessibility also I love how the um there's a ledge here like an infinity pool ledge kind of looking out to the ocean and there's like even these little chairs over here that um are kind of like inwater lounging chairs those are great it's going to be a scorcher of a day let's go to this other pool over here cuz that's where the pool bar is so let's see what that set up is like oh yeah this is this is where all the fun happens here look they got loungers they even got little seats with tables and then like tables in the middle just for like chatting and then yeah the pool bar set up there that's going to be good I'll probably spend a good amount of time in here also kind of like the infinity ledge there leading out to the water is beautiful but uh let's walk down to the beach and see what that's all about so far a really nice resort I always say like you need a few things right you need Wi-Fi need a limited drinks need good food and I would say some good music and then I don't know what else you would want oh yeah the beach is really nice the sand is um a little bit hard but but in a nice way you're not sinking into it and it looks like you only have natural shade but there seems to be a ton of it um and also a lot of chairs they're okay chairs right like they could be worse they could be the ones with like the lined straps on them and then they leave like marks on your body but check that out wow you can even like you guys probably can't pick it up on the camera but that's how close we are the ship kind of right there see I'm still wearing shoes but let's see if it's like Rocky or anything like that and then looks super super smooth oh yeah definitely take a dip in the ocean later yep so far this is looking really good okay let's see what kind of food options I have this is still breakfast so I don't know if I'll get anything okay we got some bacon sausages eggs some cornbread there yeah your typical breakfast kind of setup I got uh different kinds of hash browns and whatnot over there and let's see what they got over here just like meats and some greens some fruit there then they just have the some pastries here looks pretty good we got a little Beverage Station over here Waters juices and like a limited Pop I guess oh I didn't even notice this you can pour your own beer here that's cool try that later overall a really clean uh food area not going to lie it was kind of impressive uh for a resort in my opinion and then okay so what we're going to do now is get connected to the Wi-Fi find a place to sit down and probably get a drink as soon as I can not having the drink package I'm due for like some frozen like fun drinks just been seeing people drinking them all day sun sun sun days no clouds in the sky about to get away feels like it's SP a freaking deade sorry don't call me cuz I'm going to be sunny day sunny day make way all the stress and doubt yeah not today feels like it's been a freaking deade sorry don't call me just s up the Drone for you guys hope it turns out I was getting a very strong wind warning my drone was like please put me down but uh yeah hopefully it turned out the bar opens up in about 10 minutes so most of the Cruisers especially are just kind of waiting around for that to happen but uh the pool is very nice temperature's good and uh check out these views here people are just hanging out on the ledge here overlooking some palm trees and some water doesn't get much better okay the bar is open now I just started it with their local beer which I guess is red stripe um it was just called draft beer I'm going to assume it's red stripe and then I'm going to get one of the funner drinks later this one called Bob and Rita Marley give that a try but uh I guess maybe I should have started with the fun ones cuz what is it beer Bora liquor never been sicker but not going that hard so I don't have to worry about it okay the next drink I got was this Bob and Rita Marley look at this drink guys it almost looks like one of those like uh rocket pops kind of slightly different different colors but yeah it's got like pina colada strawberry dairi some kind of mango and then at the top it's like cira or something and then I just got a beer cuz why not let's give it a try all right I'm going to mix it up cuz who knows what that would taste like it doesn't look as good mix I'm not going to lie it looks like remember when you used to go to the movie theaters and you just like put every type of flavor of like soda in the cup that's what it looks like I can't remember what it was called I think in Canada we called it swamp water or something but here we go oh yeah it's really good I mean it's full of sugar how could it not be good okay I literally fell asleep and then one of those like pool loungers for like an hour maybe two it was so good um I'm on the hunt for some lunch now uh it wasn't right by the pool so I'm kind of wandering around doing some investigating see what they have oh they got this whole other pool whole other area over here it's so much busier than the area I was in wow this place is huge I I don't know if this is the bar or where you get some food but I'm going to keep looking around place is massive okay the amount of food was really impressive actually they had like burgers chicken fingers they had like sushi desserts Pizza anything that you can think of really I kind of felt like a like a Leo Marketplace they kind of had like a buffet style of that but yeah looking forward to it I got a I just got a burger put some meat I don't know and meat and cheese sauce on there got some chicken fingers this is like a chicken ball I guess and some cherry cheesecake okay let's try the burger this bun is excessively large like look how thick the bun is and I don't even know if I'm going to be able to bite it but we will do our best I mean tastes pretty good the bun doesn't need to be that big though it's good though yeah overall I'd give this buffet I'd say a 10 on variety cuz I had a ton and then maybe seven on quality let's say the Leal marketplaces an eight to give you a frame of reference the chicken's a bit dry and you know the thing with buffets is that the food sits there for quite a bit and it's pre-made so it's hard to be like too critical overall I was happy with it which is all that matters I actually thought the burger was quite good um but the chicken not so good but they do have drink service so so got a beer on the way that's a bonus yeah so it looks like the area that I'm in is maybe more here towards the adult only area then this area has families and looks like kind of a bit more of a Vibe so if you're going for like a party atmosphere maybe that's the way to go if you want to chill and relax then the area that I was in was way better cuz the music it kind of felt like the serenity right like the music was kind of low it was chill um no kids obviously so I really like how they're completely separate and that they have something for whatever kind of vacation that you want okay I got about an hour left before I have to meet with the bus driver so I figured I'd walk down the beach a little bit here and show you guys what else is down here seeing as I haven't even explored it all myself it's so such a big Resort yeah it's a bit clouded over now but they have basically an infinite amount of chairs so you don't need to worry about getting a good spot all by the water look at that that's really cute take a nice little photo there oh it's even got signs here Montego Bay Kingston Portland yeah cool also it looks like they even have a volleyball court up here I mean nothing special no one's playing right now especially with how windy it is it's pretty low too not regulation but you could definitely gather around with a group of friends play some volleyball now this was the pool that we saw earlier when I was having lunch a bit busier here but then over here they actually have like a poolside barbecue Line's quite long for that one but they have like burgers and [Music] hot dogs and that kind of thing oh wow they actually have another pool bar set up here and again it looks a little bit busier than the one we were at earlier so if you want more people more of a Vibe this looks like the place to go oh look at this this is the fifth pool and there's actually a pool volleyball game going on right now so endless amount of options here I think we'll stop in at uh This Bar up here and get another drink before we have to go hey you yeah overall I don't have really any complaints about this Resort it was great drinks Wi-Fi was fast pretty good food decent music nice variety for both adults and children yeah I'd come here again for sure just like that tuna is in the books I got you know one of the funny things I always notice about these Caribbean islands is like you know when they're passing each other on the roads and they honk each other they're saying hello but in North America okay may maybe it's just Canada I'm not sure let me know about the states but like a double honk on the horn in Canada is like okay wake up the lights turn green it's time for you to go and and then like when you hold on the horn it's like giving someone the FW you know like hurry up and then here they're just saying hello so I always find that pretty funny okay so we're at the Leo Marketplace for dinner I was going to go to the Seafood Shack um but then I walked by and they had like fried chicken and heard to say no to that so let's give it a go I got to say I almost take back everything I said about the Leo Marketplace on the Jubilee and celebration it wasn't that good but on this cruise on the horizon so far it's been really good all right let's try the Fried Chicken they're missing like hot sauce or buffalo sauce something yeah the skin is really good definitely need some sauce but pretty good right now like what's going on tonight is the we got dealer No Deal which I love and we also have the Rock and glow which I also really enjoy so we're in for a good night those events are kind of happening later 9:30 and 10:30 so we got some time to kill I think I'm going to do some exploring maybe check out a few of the shops or just like see the general Vibe of the ship see what's going on and they got this cherry on top store sure everyone's familiar with it but oh those are cute Cruiser one Cruiser 2 kind of play on Thing One and Thing Two I like that but yeah any kind of K you want I a my absolute favorite is milk chocolate covered almonds and if they have that here I might have to indulge but yeah a store full of candy oh chocolate covered omond right there if my dog wouldn't rip this in a million pieces in 5 minutes I would totally get it oh it's got some weight to it oh wait what you put these in the microwave okay it's like a heating pad but a stuffed animal that's kind of interesting oh they got the best looking cookies here too and they have ice cream with waffle counts could be tempted now here's an area we haven't been yet is the actual piano bar it just hasn't lined up with the timing of anything that I wanted to do but Kayla and I had an amazing time at the piano bar in the Jubilee and I could definitely see myself coming back here I also really love like these features that they do there's like two of them one in each kind of area of the prominade and yeah they just bring a nice little kind of energy a little bit of a vibe to the area pretty cool this one goes right down to the casino check this out you can see who's winning and who's losing I got to say I've come by here every night this has to be the test Alchemy bar I've ever seen like the last two ships that we went on the even the bartenders were like kind of dressed up in lab coats and stuff and it was really cool and they were engaging with the guests and whatnot doing tricks and all sorts of stuff and now every time I come by here it's just kind of not that it's a ghost town it's just kind of low energy I didn't even know this area was back here I don't think this is a karaoke area oceans Plaza I had even heard of this so I guess we're watching karaoke right [Applause] [Music] now I'm leave the door all okay I had to step away from a bit because here's the Havana Bar I am just discovering this how am I still exploring the ship oh it kind of looks just like how I remember it on jubile celebration same kind of Color Vibe oh I actually love how the bands like in the middle there is a dance for on the other side but they could be surrounded by people over here oh that's be a lot of fun I haven't seen any events in here yet but I'm sure there has been and there's the bar here along with the dance FL down here a lot of space this actually quite a big AV bar I can't believe I haven't even seen it and there's the like in through those doors is where the like lower aft pool that I saw was but I don't think I'm allowed through there oh damn I came by earlier they didn't have any of this stuff but now Java blue is stocked with look at that guava cream cheese donut my God that thing is monstrous and then yeah bacon carot carel that's a kind of a classic yeah these are $4 each they might be worth it though look at the size of this muffin that think's a monster okay it's dealer No Deal time not playing this time personally uh I I like watching it but I think it's kind of a bit of a scam every time we play or watch like probably only like one to three people even get like $50 worth which is like what the cards cost so it seems like they could pay it a little bit more but I definitely enjoy watching it and it's time to find out who's gonna be our first contestant on Deal or No Deal let's go there he is there's the bank no why why what no no we're not drinking no stop hey bro we went to a meeting for this come on man Lord all right come on up if you have no case of 1 0 7 4 7 3 8 I am looking for Jennifer where is Jenn oh she loud and impressive that's how I got the winning ticket give let me hear you sing my hand make it I swe if you glow you know that is probably the most epic that along with their white party is got to be the most epic parties I've been to on a cruise ship let me know if there's a better party out there because the participation the cruise director everyone's glowing like they bring their own little glow sticks and sunglasses and Tiaras and stuff that are all glowing it's just incredible but to go back to the dealer No Deal um that was good she won 120 so I mean not the best outcome but not the worst and then like uh I really like how everyone gets so invested in in the person winning so that's what makes it fun even if you're not playing and then yeah the Rock and glow is just amazing it like one finished and then I had to like run up the stairs basically with the cruise director and get to the Rock and glow but yeah what a good time um that is it for day number three tomorrow we are in Grand Cayman I am just going to do some self exploring um we do have to water shuttle so that's going to be a first for me on Carnival um so I'll show you what that's all about I'm going to give it a little bit I'm going to probably get off like one or two hours after we're allowed to just so I don't have to wait for any kind of like shuttle line or anything like that and then I'll probably just walk around town see what gr cayman's all about I have been there before uh again on the same trip like 10 years ago and we did the stingray thing and if you're coming Grand Cayman I'd highly recommend that that was like a really great memory but if you
