what's up happy Thursday welcome in girls talk boys talk presented by jigsaw the preferred dating partner of the Dallas Cowboys in the s swbc studio we got Aisha morson we got Jaz Monet we got myself Nicole Hutson in the studio what's up in the stew in the stew what was that what was that that you just did in the intro what you did I was dancing you was dancing I'm not that coated oh I got excited cuz it just hit me like until we was just talking like Chris was saying um man we got football coming up like it's about to get real out there no ain't lying we got football coming up we got some exciting news dvin cook is now officially a Dallas Cowboys and we heard from Cowboys owner in GM Jerry Jones yesterday and here's what he had to say on the dvin cook signing uh dvin U is someone that we all have an appreciation for his career and uh uh he gives us a chance to uh get in here and learn the system he's uh initially on the practice squad gives us a chance to get in here and learn the system uh we had hoped that as time went along in this off season that we'd have an opportunity to uh maybe look at a player like of his statue uh if the right circumstances came along they came along we're appreciative of that uh he's in U we had the workout for him he's in good shape uh he'll get a lot more work but he'll learn our system as he goes and uh he could easily really help us out this year all right some good things Jerry so country that's what you got from that I'm dead he probably say like that and not like that he's so country and is I'm cry sound like he's still kicking in Arkansas I'm weak uh but no I mean we got a chance to see him in practice today and before we dive into um you know what we expect out of dvin cook what what are y'all thoughts on first what Jerry Jones had to say and how realistic do you think um it'll be for dvin Cook to actually see the field this year very realistic I mean you can tell listening to them they it sounds like they've had there's been interest I think I saw reports for that I'm sorry not quoting the reporter but I've seen that they've been looking at dvin cook for a while and this is just it just worked out to be the time for him to come in or whatever so you know how the Cowboys are if they see a guy that maybe they missed on and that's why Tre Lance is here that they didn't get to get then they want to take the opportunity I think it's realistic that we might see him because it's just the way that this running back room is right now I mean and and you know long season you have this guy on the practice squad to call up I could definitely see it um when Jerry Jones said appreciation for his career I was like that sounds like a pretty accurate phrase to describe what they're seeing from him because a lot of the critics of this particular move are pointing to what we saw or didn't see from him uh last year um but there seems to be an appreciation based on what Jerry Jones said and also a couple of things Mike McCarthy said for what he's done in the past and maybe a certain level of belief that coming here he'll have the opportunity to pull that out again so we'll see if uh they're they're correct on that um that that's all we can do is is wait and see at this point for sure and we saw him today in practice wearing the number 20 the number that Tony Pard wore for the Dallas Cowboys he is no longer here with us anymore but we have dvin cook ladies uh and he was working with a member of the training staff today in practice just working on footwork skill uh footwork drill and um I saw some pictures I didn't get a chance to see um it up in person but I saw some pictures on Twitter where uh you see Zeke and cook just kind of like people are like talking right I think I think that's pretty cool now like Zeke has a veteran guy in the room with experience right to help him you know with these younger guys but uh he still has some learning to do um do y'all think that it'll take a little bit of time just for him to get some you know used to the system yeah I mean of of course especially when you're talking about you know P protection assignments and things like that he has to learn the Playbook and thankfully running back's not super complicated it ain't too crazy it's not I mean it is you know maybe he's going to need to know some of the blocking assignments but it's it's it's typically an easier transition positionally than most most positions so I think he'll catch up on things quickly and it I mean it's not that complicated getat the ball and run honey catch R is what I'm worried about it's it's the fact that they from listening to them talk that they really seem to believe that they can go back to earlier in his career in terms of what he produces and how he performs and so I'm like if that's what they're expecting well I mean that that might take a little bit longer unless he's got something yeah exactly if possible unless he's got something up his sleeve that we just haven't seen don't know about unless he went to wakanda while we while he's in the offseason what I mean look the reality it's just the reality and when you said we got some exciting news I was like what's the exciting news you no like don't don't get me wrong like here's my thing about it this is what it is M this is what it is they ain't pick nobody up off waivers you got a game to prepare for next week they saying this hit this is what we believe is good enough to wins I'm going to go into my Optimist Optimist brain and try to find good things now I will say there's been a lot of criticism of the dvin cook signing or whatever just because the league is getting younger at running back and it seems like you are going backwards a bit so I do get some people's frustration with it and everything um but I do think some of the stuff that I saw from him I watched like three games of him last year and there's he still has the ability to capture the edge he still has some acceleration it's just he ain't about to be has he making people Miss like he's not that's not his game anymore um he's not going to do a lot in the open field uh but there there still is some speed there and the vision is still there it's and it's and that's what it was irritating me when I was watching he can see it but sometimes it's just he can't get there or he'll see the guy coming you can see him recognizing the defense but he can't make that extra cut to make a guy Miss so um I don't I don't know this running back room is uh confounding I got that from brierton I love that I'm crying uh Jazz I'll start with you with this one uh since you got a chance to just see him in practice close and personal what what were your thoughts about him today's practice I know they didn't we obviously didn't see much it's only 15 minutes unfortunately but uh what did you see I mean I'm going to be honest we didn't really get to see a whole lot like like you said it was 15 minutes and for for for a good part portion of that I I feel like the true I feel like the I he it seems like he and Zeke will get along very well they seem like good friends like I feel like that's what I'm most prepared to comment on based on what I saw in practice because even would y'all stop laughing even what we did see we saw like a lot of you know fundamentals work a lot of positional work from everybody so like that's really all I can say I don't want to I don't want to sit here and pretend like that 15 minutes gave me like so much to evaluate when it comes to this guy um I'm glad that it looks like he's getting along nothing looked like out of place you know with me being a a trainer you know I didn't say this last time but let me reintroduce myself yeah I'm an athletic development specialist performance enhancement specialist so sometimes I do look at movements and body types and stuff like that so I didn't see anything that stood out in terms of that that I would be like concerned about but it was one time now you know next week the week after that I might have a little bit more to tell you yeah um because you can tell a lot about a player by the way they stretch and I'm going to leave that at that for now if baby if they stretch but there's there's a lot of uncertainty with this room because I don't how many players did you see from Zeke at training camp I hardly any I'm not going to lie to you no preseason at all no preseason and see we don't know if they didn't really do anything or if that's one of those situations where they're just keeping them from us because Mike McCarthy is known to do that to they probably have they probably had some private practices or some things offline or something or to keep his legs fresh too because again you know Zeke is at that age to where they're not as fresh right so maybe it was kind of something like that and or like you mentioned Jazz just not trying to show their hand with all exactly this running back room is definitely a mystery I think that's why it's been ranked so low by so many people because what we do know is is not necessarily that great when people write about this running back room they write about the injury history of Ezekiel Elliott and Rico D they they write about the size of duvon um there's not a lot that has been seen publicly that gives people a lot of excitement and a lot of Hope um and there's not really a lot to insinuate that the Run scheme is going to change a lot from last year so I think people are just kind of like okay what exactly happening here so your word was confounding my word is Mystery for this running back room and I think that's that's where we are until we start seeing something on the field when you talk about this running back room so far we've got Z Rico sorry Ezekiel Elliott Rico Dole Hunter lipkey and duvon um of course on the practice squad Malik Davis and um D and cook but when you talk about those guys who does it put on yeah they have them they sign on to practice Squad mik Davis yeah yep they signed on the practice squad um who does this put on alert uh as far as the true running back room that we have on this dep chart nobody need all of them they all a mystery yeah I I think worst case scenario they might be thinking somebody might get hurt again because of History yeah um and then like you know dece doesn't have a a a long injury history but what we've seen in running backs in the past is like once they have one injury um sometimes they tend to come back or something related tends to come back so that might be a concern that they're having and that's why they wanted to bring in a veteran um but I don't think it puts anybody on alert necessarily actually Mike McCarthy uh hinted towards that today uh in the press conference he he was asked about if he feels there's a true lead back um or if it'll be more situational his exact words where my definition of Committee is it's a long year you want to be able to have distribution throughout that position because of the toll that it takes on the running back position so yeah we want to play it in the flow uh but they just want to be able to utilize all those guys in a pretty much a normalized flow so do y all think that I know he said there's no lead back but the guy who could get most of the Reps will be maybe a RICO should be it should be Rico I think it should be if I had to guess out of who's on the roster I would also say R I agree but we don't know what to expect we no no we don't know like I don't know I mean as far as like an allaround I think Rico is the best allaround back you have right now and then when you factoring like yeah he's had injuries but that his legs are fresh yeah fresher than most of those guys now so I I'm but I will say in regards to what you what Mike McCarthy said though is like sometimes I do want them to play the matchup game yeah sometimes I do want to see want them to look at a defense and be like hey these linebackers take bad angles they do not tackle well at the second level whatever that's a de Von game that's getting him out in space that's doing things with him you know what I'm saying that's the scream game with Rico then you're like okay well you know this defense struggles on the interior and stuff like that okay well then that's a your power guys that's more so to me I do think that there needs to be if you are going to be like how Mike McCarthy saying then allocate guys based on the matchup and it doesn't always have to be it's just this rotation of guys because that's how we're doing it so that's just how I feel H you agree with that my bad oh yeah 100% I agree with that and something else I've also been thinking about is the fact that the makeup of our offensive line is a little bit different so how those guys adjust and you know kind of take to their assignments when it comes to blocking for the Run game is going to play a role in what we see as well like there are some people who who say that duvon didn't um have as good of a showing as he could have last year because of who he was behind whenever he was on the field so I agree with that I used to get mad I used to be legitimately pissed like why what are y'all doing this to my guy for like there were times he would get in the game and there would be defenders in the back field when he got the ball like consistently so him having some better offensive line play is definitely going to make things easier for him to be successful all that will make a difference for sure so Switching gears to the wide receiver star wide receiver we got back who put on 15 pounds bang bang bang what he look like you seen him he looks much stronger much stronger um from what we did see a little bit of him on Tuesday uh and Wednesday he looks a little faster as well um that's my thoughts and I was going to ask you know do y'all feel like him adding on those extra 15 pounds is good you think it's a little too much what's y'all's thoughts he knows CI one thing about CI through college through and through his NFL career his health has not been an issue he takes he takes his preparation and stuff very seriously so I trust that he knows what's best for his body um but then also too I wonder if it's a testament too like last we started to see a little bit more of yak CD again because when he came out of college that's what that's what something that people expected to see from him didn't get that as much in the Kell Moore offense just because of the scheme with Mike McCarthy coming in and calling plays we're starting to see number one it's a yak league but you have a guy that can do those things maybe too we talked about the running backs maybe we're going to see CD coming out the back field a little bit more and them using him in those ways so he's just building his armor kind of how Micah did um Micah's been doing as well so I don't got a problem with it it um cuz I'm pretty sure he knows better than we do about his body he called it a body armor too extra little body armor on him um just to take a couple more hits my bad Jazz yeah piggybacking off what you said we have seen him line up pretty much everywhere yeah so it could be like an anticipation of doing a little bit more that diversifying his role um I'm not worried about the weight itself I was a little bit concerned with the first report that I read that said it was 15 pounds of lean muscle I was like that is crazy but yeah but if it's just 15 lbs of mass most of that being lean muscle that makes a little bit more sense um and I'll say two things about CD lamb one is that every single offseason he improves drastically at something and so if that that was his Focus this year then I I totally trust him in that also from what we have seen in video clips that have been shared we've seen that he's been working on his agility we've seen that he's been working on his juking his movement his stability um catching the ball so the fact that he put on this weight while still also working on those aspects of the game to me says that his body is adapting sometimes when it comes to putting on weight um people might be concerned about a player putting on weight in a way that puts stress on their joints or causes them to slow down in a way but he seems to have been also focusing on like several aspects of his game as well so I just don't I just don't think it's going to be a big problem yeah he said he's been training for three hours a day F from between three to five days a week in South Florida so y'all know that he is crazy so he's clearly in shape see I would worry more about that than the weight itself but but no we uh we love obviously hopefully the Improvement that um CD lamb has made but we got to take our first break and up next we talking the improvements on this defensive line how about lynval Joseph added to the mix you're watching girls talk boys talk presented love that love it love it love it all right guys ladies uh the Cowboys we talk about how they're all in right please they weren't all in this offseason but training camp up until now they have been all in bolstering up the defensive line let's talk about it lmal Joseph added to the mix go ahead and hear what he had to say he spoke to the media yesterday I know Zimmer I know this defense and it just I'm glad to be a part of this defense again cuz I played six year six years in here in his defense and it really helped my development of my game when you saw that Zimmer was coming here to Dallas was that kind of like a thing in your head where you're like hey maybe eventually I could go there too I mean I thought about it but never knew what was going to happen you know so when I did get the call it was like okay well kind of do make sense you know so I entertained it yeah ly Bal Joseph are talking about his experience under Mike Zimmer when he played under him as well as his during his time in Minnesota 14-year veteran uh adding another guy to the mix as far as that veteran experience um and he's now been with the Cowboys for what a week now um just I'll start with you Aisha um how big was this pickup when you talk about the one Tech position specifically huge I don't know how I don't know what the what's happening um it was necessary yeah yeah good word that's a good word like that word you needed to I've been screaming since Fe February Chris I mean I was on the draft show talking about some the DT position like I've been trying to get the sense of urgency for the need for the DT position for a minute and so um you know grateful that they went out and and grabbed someone another thing too is the fact that Zimmer has has a year he's this is a one-year deal yeah he definitely wants guys here that he's comfortable with that's why you see a Kendricks that's why olinville Joseph is someone these are these are people who can um kind of echo his coaching points and stuff on the field when he's not completely present so I get it um looking at lyol Joseph you you you you not about to get a whole bunch of special stuff going on from him he's going to sit up there eat up space take on double teams try to keep other guys clean he talked about that in his interview as well like I'm not here to pass rush my guy I'm here to do my job do my role and if you can get something from him in that regard I believe these linebackers are good enough to play free and clean up a lot of the stuff that we were talking about as far as defending the run so it was necessary um hated to see Justin Rogers be lost in the mix with some of the stuff going on but you you you needed DT helping and you got it in some way shap or form exactly um shape and form precisely um I think in terms of body type and experience um we we've definitely improved yeah um and not only when it comes to echoing Zimmer's coaching points but also just the culture one of the things that wasn't in the sound bite but that uh Joseph did mention in his interview was um just a couple of the things that he knows that Zimmer likes and doesn't like when it comes to how he coaches and what he wants from that room and so I I even think having guys who have that experience not only in the game but also with coach them specifically um who can kind of echo that and drive home what's expected and be an example of that will will help everybody it's kind of like and I hate to use this example but it's like well I think I can use it with young kids too I was about to say like with puppies but it's just like you know like when when one is like potty trained and then like the other ones can like watch them and then they learn faster I don't know I I'm putting up I'm picking up what you put down s so it's it's kind of like that it's like you know it's one thing for for Coach Zimmer to be like okay this is what I want but it's another thing for them to have examples even if they're not flashy on game day but they just do their job if that's what coach wants then they have examples of that and and I think that'll be good as far as like that trickling down to everybody else also Health goad gohe go ahead go ahead go ahead seriously also healthy for mazy's development I mean the loss of henkins affects him as well just not Carl Davis is well not having guys that do what he does or do like do what he's learning to do in that room we talked about that with Deone Clark even so he's H hasn't had a veteran linebacker consistently there to teach him and guide him through what the position calls for having someone like lynval Joseph in there that's experienced with two gapping and doing all that stuff yes that should be helpful Mentor wise to Mazi I'm just hoping that you get some production from some of these humans and production doesn't look like sacks and stuff from this position production looks like really holding up double teams and help out these DN and these linebackers to go clean up trash and knowing Ro Mike McCarthy said he'd never seen the linebackers smile so much I'm excited for them happy linebackers are productive linebackers and Jeff scina come on he was smiling I caught him smiling um from the bleachers because I think he's just happy that he has a nose tackle that can take up space um and he was doing some uh lynval Joseph was doing drills uh double team drills with uh Denzel daxon and Phil Hoskins and I mean man like that dude they got him listed at with like 340 no 329 and he moves so well he's yeah huge human really hug I can't wait to meet him he's huge he's going to look down at me everyone looks down at me like it's fine it's fine I can join the club yeah yeah we're all miniature kind of fine but but yeah no I mean that was something that I noticed because I mean you hardly see Jeff ganina smiling I know or dapping up his players just because that's just you know he he's that he's that hard coach that wants the best out of you but I think he's just happy that the Cowboys have that um but something that you had mentioned about uh Lind ball is that uh and he mentioned in the sound B everybody has success being a defensive tackle in this system you have to be selfless wow yeah that's such a good way you're selfish this system won't work for you how much of that do you feel like was missing last year B okay all right check like when you talk about I mean literally when you talk about what Mike Zimmer asked from his defensive players in general we've talked about it in azim you know the defensive side of the ball had a lot of penalties last year and just things that didn't need to be there and Zimmer it sounds like he uh expects you to not not Perfection but he expects you to be to his standard and so we've heard multiple guys say hey if you ain't getting it you not about to be on the field exactly and so it kind of ties back into like I don't know how many times last year Watching film you see a guy leave his Gap you see a guy trying to get sacks you see a guy like a lot of that was happening so when you talk about what these guys are all echoing yeah it is it's selfless I'm so glad that he I'm so glad that he said that because that's a very good way to put it because if he if you just do your job it's G to make it easy for everybody else around you man and what you were talking about from last year those weren't just mistakes like how often did we hear people use phrases like herob ball or even outright talk about players doing certain things for the sake of their own incentives last year which I mean I want players to get their incentives obviously but I do think when you when you think about what Aisha was referring to and just some of the sound bites that we heard when it came to uh some of the frustrations of players on the defensive side of the ball you you heard a lot about the selfishness that wasn't necessarily put in check so I do think that's going to be a big difference that will make a world of difference in terms of what we see on the defense accountability I'm excited accountability in that room and yeah it just you just there were times and I can't even I wish I could remember how many times how many times have we watching a game it's a big play on third third down yeah they they get the sack they get the play there's a ho somebody somebody jumped offs a lot like there's just you know and so to him for him to reestablish like real discipline on this side of the ball um and accountability amongst each other is going to be healthy for the team I think overall Jordan Phillips uh do y'all feel I know he said that he feels more comfortable at the three Tech position so that'll be behind Oso digua do y'all feel he could be a nice Flex position maybe the one and the three behind you know ly ball and Mazy depending on I I do think um I definitely did see him do some things at the one and I know he's capable you're just going to get more from him from a pass rushing standpoint at that three Tech position just because he can he has some explosiveness can get up field um but yeah I I wouldn't mind him being at one depending on the matchup sometimes I guess yeah yeah but if if it's a yeah never mind okay got you no no no I I because I I was having trouble trying to formulate like what I was thinking about at him with him at the one as well but on running Downs would you obviously like to see maybe two big old guys like obviously amazzi and like lyol do you think that they could be special on the interior yeah cuz you're just forcing guys ain't nobody about to want to run up there you're bouncing you're forcing guys to the outside and you got these Looney Tune linebackers that I like so much and also yeah I mean if you have a tank on one side and a marshan nean who I believe is going to make people make some business decisions because you can't just one thing we saw last year is ain't nobody about to run it literally the best Edge run defender in the NFL with tank they were just running opposite of him just trying to not go his Direction but if marshan nean comes in and he's the guy that we've kind of been seeing with this run defense then it says well where you going to go big Hy where you what's happening so it's it it should help it may not be super flashy or pretty to everybody I don't know everybody what is this this is pointless certain Listen don't be who said it was pointless what I'm de well because lynval is old he's older you know we haven't seen much from him so people have their Reser reservations about what they expect from him and I'm like dog you just need him to do exactly what he just said yeah you have other stars like everyone doesn't have to be a star yeah everybody doesn't have to make the highlights like sometimes DTS are there for decoration they do their job and they go about their business facts so bang bang bang bang boom boom all right well bang bang boom boom We F to take our second break you're watching Girl Talk boys talk presented by jigsaw the preferred dating partner of the Dallas Cowboys will be right back the dicky family always mandated that preferred Dam partner of the Dallas Cowboys I'm Nicole Hudson again Aisha Morrison and Jaz Monet and before we wrap up JK we not wrapping up yet we got like 10 more minutes uh but no overall practice takeaways um Jazz I'll start with you what what was some one of the biggest takeaways from today I know I know I know we hardly see I know it's tough but like just something that stood out to you uh from today it was the first day that you know obviously the Cowboys have finalized the 53 man roster uh practice squad is complete with 17 what' you think um is it okay if I go more General like I said we were only there for 15 minutes so I I don't I don't want to point out negatives because yeah first day but on the positive side um I did like everybody's attitude it looks like there was like a Light Spirit in the room people were having a good time but also very serious about what they were doing um I you know I was closest to where the defensive linemen were I could actually hear them talking to each other see them trying to improve on each rep it didn't look like they were just like going with the flow it looked like when one of them like you know missed a step or whatever they they tried to improve like they were they acted like they have a a their first regular season game coming up and they're taking it seriously so so that was really good to see them balance that along with just having a good attitude being in good spirits seeing um like Dak being playful a little bit for a few seconds at a time you know but yeah that was good to see so far so far um would y'all is I guess since there's quite a few injuries I won't say quite a few I'll say about five uh you have W Thomas with the groin uh don Bland who of course we talked about it on Tuesday he'll be missing six to eight weeks for a stress to to fracture um and then you have lift tackle chuma yoga um and Nathan Thomas as well um on injur reserve is there any concerns with those guys being out no no no I mean thankfully enough safety rooms kind of deep Corner Room I mean yeah I wouldn't say that there's no no like you know perking your ears up at Don Bland being out because I think it changed some of the scheme and then puts Kaylin Carson in a position to where he has to learn different things you know a little bit quicker cuz he's going to be playing extended reps um as far as Nathan Thomas goes I really wanted to see what he had but they stashed them so it is what it is and um who's the other human got W and no no I said chuma chuma and chuma I think awesome I think awesome Richards has shown you that he's capable of man in that left tackle spot if necessary or left guard at this point so it's kind of like all right I was actually we talking about injuries seeing de Maran overshown back on the field was very encouraging seeing Deone Clark practice today was very encouraging because like we talked about this linebacker room might have to pretty up some not so pretty stuff sometimes so all those guys being healthy and available to go are something I'm looking for Ryan floro last night though him not again glorified walkr um these guys are in shells they they kind of chilling but him continuing yeah you you Dak Dak is one of those people he can't play he can't uh he wears hot on his sleeve with his football you know real quick who he like real quick you can kind of identify guys he's comfortable with and floi is a guy that I think is really starting to build a consistent connection with him and also too he's just it's just consistantly you're starting to see him every practice like making a play or doing something to where you're like this is this is who he is at this point so those are my few things I kind of anticipated that would happen he just seems to kind of have that attitude terms like he he's not like going to whisper his way into rotation like he's coming to claim his spot I age what's a what position room are y'all most excited about you go I need a second hold on you go half the D um receivers I I love receivers in general so I'm I'm anxious to see how CD fits in with everybody else we didn't get to see them work together you know in the offseason or preseason um and I do want to see what Flo does with back so about you you uh you told me to go off the toone I mean I've already talked about the linebacker room I I think I'll say the safety room um because of Mike Zimmer and the way that he uses the safeties I think we're going to see more blitzes we're going to see more packages with them they're going to get to do some things disguising and and have some fun there and be deceptive at the line of scrimmage I'm excited for those guys I think we'll see more safeties get interceptions this year I think they'll be in more position to make plays um on the ball it's hard not to be excited about our secondary in general for sure not for sure if we had to choose well my bad I didn't even get to go you're I'm going go defensive line um and because they were scolded so much about not being able to stop the run not being able to stop the run that was an ailles he all year in 2023 um they going to be able to stop the run they going to be able to stop the run they going to be Rush the pass or we going have to figure it out Mar nean I mean when you have Marsha nean who again has obviously was brought in because of his ability to stop the run but his work ethic as far as being a pass rusher has improved in what 31 days we were in Oxnard I will cry right now he's so like he wants to get better at that and I think the fact that he wants to prove everybody wrong that he can be a pass rusher um is going to make it a little interesting so I think I'm I'm really excited about this defensive line and you know how what they do with Mah Parson there some guys who are going to surprise us in terms of our passer you think so I think I think CH goon is a sleeper I think Chanty goon moving back to De is a sleeper for some pass rush stuff like I I think he he's going to surprise people too when I was watching them work on their moves today there were a couple of guys who stuck out in terms of just like how quick they looked and just how like you know how sometimes you look at a player in practice and they just look like ready like like if if somebody called and said actually the game is happening right now they would be like let's go who who you I I would I would say Osa was definitely one of those people um I would say like I I saw that from Joseph a couple times in so much as you can see it from him he did look like a tick slower like which you might expect from someone who's that much of a veteran but it's just like when I when I saw that it just kind of made me think like in terms of speed and in terms of like really being in attack mode I think we might like see some surprises this season do you think you know what I think is going to be a surprise this season that we're going to see who I think we're going to see dearion over rush the passer and not from the linebacker position I buy it I think we might see him do some things over there because when he was coming out of college a lot of people looked at him as having ability to rush the passer so I don't know I I think that if they need to manufacture pass rush it's going to come from the linebackers anyway I believe which I'm not a I I don't want to be the defense that can't get pressure without blitzing yeah I don't want to be that so hopefully they can figure things out I thought aquadine Muhammad was showed some pass rushh ability obviously he's out the first game so maybe he'll give you a little something but yeah what you got andc okay so with the way that like Zimmer disguises a lot of things you saw obviously the first preseason game they got no pressure on the quarterback but the second one you saw safeties coming in a couple of things that he just does with getting pressure manufacturing press pressure I think that'll be a lot of fun I did not mean to cut you off Jazz my I know you're good but yeah yeah I think be F I know it be will be very shocking I'm just going to go out on a Lim and guess and I'm completely guessing I don't know nothing about nothing nobody tell me nothing I'm just guessing huh interesting we going on 15 minutes of practice facts he has the ability he built like Michael too that good point good point there what's what position room are y'all most concerned about running back worried about why because like we said earlier they're they're a mystery tell us we want to know they're they're they're a mystery and I I think not only in terms of what can each guy do but how are they going to be used so it's like it's not so much that I don't have faith in these guys right but it's like like if I had to like list of positions and be like okay so which one is most concerning I'm just like yeah it's them I don't really have that level of concern which is interesting right I think in the past we've had questions about other rooms like this is I haven't been covering the cowboys that long but like I I feel like consistently we go into the season with questions about the offensive line and and questions about uh the receiver room um but this is like definitely one of those times I'm like okay they're they're actually all right it's these running backs I'm just like what what are we doing there mine is right tackle death let's say that yeah but I think is awesome going to be your swing I believe never seen him do right tackle that's what I'm saying you got Matt wetco as your backup right tackle and I've listen I haven't been hard on Matt Wesco I ain't even going to lie he played better in the Raiders game he did he played was it the Raiders no no it was it was the last last one the last the chargers chargers was the last game yes he played better in the Chargers game and I think that's what helped him solidify a spot but I do think that what really helped him solidify a spot is the depth and the lack thereof there but I don't know like when you talk about swing tackle awesome I thought would be your swing tackle but we haven't seen him do right tackle I have not seen him so I have no idea so that's a good point cuz that's that's something to definitely keep an eye on cuz well when yeah in training camp when you saw him like you saw uh nean lined up on the left side it it was curtain for mat so um I think that's something that I'm a little worried about if I had to choose a position uh that I'm concerned about most what you got I'm I'm not going to use I don't want to use the word concerned but I think this tight end room is a bit of a mystery as well I it's not as much of a mystery we have a little sprinkle information it's like you know we know a little something about you big dog but we don't know that much about this tight end room outside of Ferguson I think John Stevens Jr is still working his back his way back into getting comfortable um being a a pass catcher or whatever you see the natural body but I think he still needs to be a little bit more sure of himself um he has developed as a blocker which is going to be helpful to you uh schoon maker again showed some things in the blocking game still not showing that much in the passing game but he uh but he he unfortunately and I'm sorry y'all I hate to say it but we can't count on his availability at this point can I ask you something about the room because like people have been critical of the room right but I was wondering does part of the the questioning of the tight room come from the fact that like in during preseason we're seeing a lot of trance and he doesn't really connect with or use his tit utilization yeah I with that so I'm like I'm wondering if maybe you know once regular season rolls around well I asked christe and Nicole that on Tuesday because I was like have y'all it doesn't feel like they have been a focal point of Camp even at camp so that might be to your point that might be Reon why that's why I said I don't want to it as a concern I want to it as a we're it's a mystery still because we don't know and even with BR span Ford this is a guy that coming out of college was known for the blocking but he has some some receiving capability we didn't get to see a lot from him either so we're really going into this season yeah not knowing pton Hender shots out of here no offense on the practice squad you know we're really going into this season not knowing really who is going to be that second tight end that really takes advantage of what's happening with Jake Ferguson so right and I just wanted to call that out because I've heard not you obviously but I've heard some people say that the room is a disappointment I'm like I don't think they're a disappointment but it's like you said they're a mystery like we're still figuring it out um but with it being that they haven't done enough for us to know who's number two it does kind of beg the question where the concern comes in like okay do they know who's number two do they know what's expected of them or or going to be required you know somebody was like oh yeah with these running backs we're going to see we're going to see more 12 Personnel we're going to see more 22 Personnel I'm like are we do we know that for sure that's what I was dating for I'm like especially 22 like and you might see you might see more of that because they can block but yeah you need to threaten from a receiving aspect right and there's I don't know who's really threatening there I think it'll eventually I think it'll be John Stevens Jr here personally that's what I think I think eventually what it's going to be coaches are really high on him last year he got injured I think if he was on the field then they had designed plays for him in preseason I mean come on slip like little slip screens and stuff so I think it will eventually be him but he does you can tell that he is still gaining confidence in that knee and he's not that as explosive and uh and getting up field like driving up field once he gets the ball in his hands it's something that Mike McCarthy talked about with John Stevens that he has done a better job with um inline block in so that's something he's improved on um but he also just needs a little bit more work and Improvement in special teams that'll get him more opportunities so obviously we know that special teams is a way for you to get an opportunity on the field so you you felt that oh I was just thinking about the fact that we don't even know what running backs are going to help out on special teams so it's probably more of an emphasis even with the tight end to be able to help on a special team yeah well it won't be Rico he said that again today it won't be Rico I don't know how much Deuce gives you out there because of yeah limit limitations it may be TP well obviously T today at practice we did see them you know catch a couple of kicks and it was tping and dece so not a receiver no and I'm not I'm not talking about pump return I'm talking about like running backs be going down there blocking going down there protecting and doing things like that so it's like which running backs going to do that dvin cook he ain't never really play special teams either lipy is probably going to do the bulk of the work but with within this running back room who else we got there's not much so there's probably like you said there's probably more of an emphasis to do that with uh the tight ends at this point yeah so well a lot more what we got like 10 more days till yo September I'm about to get EXC I'm about listen I get to look at an actual opponent it I wish I could like y'all could zoom in on my smirk CRI it's CRI it's CRI I'm crying all right ladies well this is a good show we'll be back next week here in the SW oh you zoomed in why would you do that yes Chris let's go and you see the you an idiot man but it's been great y'all uh for Aisha Morrison and JZ mon I'm Nicole said we'll see y'all back here next week oh I waved at the wrong one bye like this has been a
