"I'm has successful debut" - Jim Harbaugh speaks after Chargers' 22-10 win over Raiders

Jim Harbaugh getting his guys going I like to talk to my quarterback I like to feel my quarterback fresh off a national title at Michigan taking the helm for a Chargers franchise that needed some retooling and they've gotten going in that but it was the Raiders getting going early Garner mchu who won the job over Aiden o Connell finds Alexander Madison Raiders up seven to3 a talking two in order coach him hard Jim Chargers without a touchdown in the first half trying to get his guys going and JK how about JK Dobbins the new charger putting a charge into this offense just eight rushes for 22 yards last season before an Achilles injury in week one 46 on that carry first play of the fourth now Chargers now up 9-7 hand off to Dobbins keeps his feet and gets in for the score first touchdown of the Season there for the Chargers 16-7 now out in front this is what it's going to be Get It On The Ground rally to the ball harball football M you connecting with Madison that brought up fourth down Antonio Pierce late in this game electing to punt ensuing Drive hand off to do well you got to get a stop if you're going to punt there goes Dobbins Off to the Races but out of gas inside the 15 in the first half had four yards yes second half different story stay with the ground game they were patient that's what you said got to lean on it and if it's not there there keep leaning later in the drive Herbert ski skirt to Lad Maki switching directions making two misss makoni in for the score and the punt proving costly Chargers going for two here hand off the Gus bus Edwards is stuffed but some extracurriculars on the back end of the play Jack Jones Josh Palmer straight right straight right both of be ejected from the game Max Crosby throwing Quinton Johnson to the ground we know these two don't like each other just just making sure it's clear here on the new season another two minutes to go Raider down 22 to10 big F mchu pass tipped at the line by former Raider Kalo Mack that feels like forever ago it was intercepted by Puna Ford Raiders third turnover of the game Chargers win the turnover battle and they win it in the end 22-10 is your final score Jim Harbaugh now 5-0 all time in season openers it's been quite some time since we've seen him at this level not a whole lot change in the approach or the outcome it's the Charger's largest week one win since [Music] 2006 all right so we know that Coach Harbaugh is going to have his team prepped each and every week what about when you give them a whole summer this is what happens five times before now 5 and0 in week one games we'll see what Coach Harbaugh and these Chargers can do in week two when they will visit the lowly Panthers here's har harball postgame between how inspiring was that performance from your defense it was uh a great performance inspiring performance um the the Run wall I mean right right right from the beginning you know the third and one then then fourth and a yard and a quarter maybe you know and then to stop that was was huge uh you know the turnovers um you know real incredible the uh the one the one that uh the back backward pass and then U Christian I think it was Christian who scooped it but then khil got it man he was like a wrecking ball uh as a as a runner that was that was huge uh Joey Bosa played lights out in this game he he caused the uh the other fumble that was huge Puna Ford uh incredible play by him um I thought the linebackers uh did a great job Denzel Perryman uh Dan Henley uh there was just they were they were thumping uh it was coverage was was really good uh really you know minus the one play where we you know we gave up to touchdown um I thought it was uh you know lights out really really great defense by our guys and uh just super uh super happy about it you know as the the whole team the whole team was inspired by by the defensive play and uh you know just um you know when we we had to be our best we were our best you know being at your best when your best is needed most John Wooden quote uh coach wooden there um I thought that you know really put the flavor on this game that that uh that's what it felt like to to me offensively um you know in the second half you know when uh when we needed it uh JK Dobbins who won an incredible game uh breaking those two long runs and just the tough yardage he and Gus were getting no turnovers offensively um thought our line did a did a really great job against you know really one of the one of the tougher uh defensive front sevens and you know I guess I can't really say that because I haven't seen many defensive front sevens uh but they're darn good they're darn good um and lot lot to get better on a lot to lot to work on for us uh you know there's no excuse for the uh the penalties we had early but uh you know we'll go to work on that and you know going from week one to week two I think that's where you make your most amount of it's where you can make the most amount of progress the entire season in in a one week period so uh we'll be we'll be really focused laser focused on uh on uh you know getting better this week Jim you passed for 140 but you ran for 176 27 attempts can you talk about the commitment to running the football today yeah it was uh it was great commitment um you know running the ball and we felt uh you know we got a lot of confidence in our offensive line you know as you saw I mean we we feel like they're the tip of the spear you know we we feel like we we can attack and um with that group and they were they were outstanding ran Slater uh played a great game Zion Johnson yeah just just love him we love him uh Brad Boseman uh played really well and um you so did uh so did pip I mean what a great story story you know you know uh one of the fine tackles in uh pro football moves to guard uh thought he was outstanding and Joe Al he played really good super happy for for Joe um yeah we were we were at our best when our best was needed most Jim tell me what is the biggest they're not going to hide what they're going to do called the offensive line the tip of the spear proud of the intensity in the Run game and it Bears out results we'll throw punches you throw punches we'll see you in the fourth quarter and see who's left standing more times than not it's going to be the hard ball Le team we'll see how
