NEW San Francisco 49ers Depth Chart AFTER 2024 NFL Draft Ft. Ricky Pearsall

[Music] this is the San Francisco 49ers report by chat sports hope all of the Faithful is having a fantastic weekend and we have a great show on tap for all of you today and you're going to learn more about this football team because on the docket an updated ners depth chart after all of the moves that San Francisco has made in free agency in the NFL draft and with this udfa class let's first get you caught up on some of the newer additions to this Niners roster by looking at their draf and the undrafted free agent San Francisco goes with Ricky Piera a luxury pick round one 31 overall wide receiver out of Florida has a lot of ability good footwork love the toughness that he exudes same could be said for Renardo green as far as the toughness and the Swagger but also the physicality he brings to the cornerback spot San Francisco little bit of a reach with their first two picks but two players who fit their identity Renardo green led the ACC in pass breakups at Florida State last year Dominic puny offensive tackle at Kansas might be an interior offensive lineman at the NFL level one of three left tackles last year to not give up a sack on more than 700 snaps he loves his versatility person uh personally and he said that he thinks that he can play every single position along that offensive line he could have an opportunity to start at Right Guard maybe he could push Colton mckivitz for snaps at right tackle but his arms a little bit shorter Malik Mustafa just a stacked and built athlete who's arguably the best tackling safety in this class I love the value there round four the safety out a Wake Forest grew up a Niner fan Isaac gendo some people like the pick some people don't I happen to like it 63 220 with 43 speed one cut Runner a good pass protector can catch the ball out of the back field I think that he could challenge Elijah Mitchell for rb2 snaps Jacob cowing is a player like Ricky peera who's a refined route Runner very experienced very productive at the college level I think both of those wide outs because kle Shanahan in previous years hasn't played a lot of young wide receivers could challenge for snaps in 2024 and make this offense deeper and more Dynamic Niners address offensive line again with jerck Kingston another tackle who did not give up a sack last year he could play offensive guard maybe Center Tatum Bethune a physical linebacker who compared his game to Dre Greenlaw a little bit smaller but that's why you take him in the seventh round at of Florida State as for the ners udfas Evan Anderson an intriguing defensive tackle out of Florida state with a quick First Step Tariq Owens the son of Terell Owens a late bloomer as originally he wanted to play basketball little bit raw as a route runner from everything that I've seen and the tape that I've broken down Cody Sher a fan favorite the guy just grinds off the field and trying to improve his craft but on the field he grinds because his legs never stop moving trying to get that extra yard Jaylen Mahoney safety out of Vanderbilt briaan Maz a center out of Southern Miss by way of West Virginia tayor Mory we're going to talk about him a little bit later this week talked about him with Ryan Hensley on his YouTube channel I'm going to play that segment coming up on the Niners report and then Drake nett could he challenge Jake brandle be to be the team starting center he started every game last year for the national champion Michigan Wolverines not a loss lot of losses on tape very good athlete in climbing to that second and third level and then Mason Pline another player who I'm excited to see a tight end at a Ferman a former basketball player who started playing basketball at FIS state made the switch to playing tight end and you can see that with how he goes up and gets the football now by looking at the draft class the udfa class we take a gander at the Niners depth chart every single player offensively and defensively quarterback set in stone it's chalk here I imagine kle Shanahan's going to go with three quarterbacks on the 53 man roster Brock pie your qb1 working off of what was a tremendous 20 23 I think he can only continue to get better finally has a full off seon to work on his craft tone the offense work with his weapons and he's not having to come back from a serious elbow surgery like he did last year Josh dos a player who in a pinch can really Master the offense I think that's what Drew Kyle Shanahan to him gets a few million dollars and guaranteed money from the Niners to be the backup Brandon Allen and Tanner morai I think it's going to be a training camp battle to see who it's the qb3 spot Brandon Allen is a favorite of Shanahan a former backup of Joe burrow but doesn't have the athletic upside of a Tanner morai who's athletic and has 44 running speed to the running back position Christian mcaffrey coming off a 2000 allpurpose yard season after him though this is a good poll question for the future who will have the second most rushing yards behind Christian mcaffrey at the running back spot don't cheat and tell me Debo Samuel because Elijah Mitchell it's been injured a lot productive but injured then you have Isaac gendo Jordan Mason and Patrick Taylor as the backups I wouldn't be surprised if any of those players make the 53 and you have to throw Kyle use check into with Brandon auk and Debo Samuel as well as Joan Jennings who's on that restricted free agent tag they could have the deepest and best overall wide receiver room in the NFL because you know what you have with your starting threat route Runner big play threat in iuk the explosive Dynamic Physical threat in Debo Samuel Mr reliable on the clutch Downs in Joan Jennings where if he were to go to another team I think that he would be highly productive because he would get ample opportunities to do that but then outside of those three Ricky Piera 31st overall pick Jacob coing in the fourth round Ronnie Bell popped in the preseason last year Tariq Owens Chris Conley Tay Martin Trent Taylor Danny gray it is going to be a battle to see which five or six wide receivers make this team so this is a very deep wide receiver room it's certainly a good issue to have and it's going to be interesting also to see how many wide receivers Kyle shanan elects to keep on the 53 man roster will it be five will it be six because you're also pretty stacked at other positions I think the backup tight end spot is a massive question mark and an underrated concern that not a lot of people are talking about the ners clearly looked into upgrading that position this off season trying to poach away Brock Wright from the Detroit Lions they wanted to draft the tight end in the draft but it didn't work out that way according to Kyle Shanahan Braden Willis and 2 are completely unproven Eric salbert it's kind of been a journeyman and a backup for a reason and then you have Jake tungas has the other tight end there George KD Stellar player All Pro last year best tight end in the game but he does have an injury history starting to get a little bit older and given how important the tight end spot is to this offense one of those young players needs to step up would not rule out a trade would not rule out bringing in a Rober tan or a Jimmy Graham type of player in free agency so tight end two definitely an issue for me going into training camp because again it's an important position on this football team to the offensive line did a little bit of a better job in the 2024 draft as compared to the 2023 draft in drafting offensive lineman in general but also fortifying the depth a little bit I like the left side Trent Williams and Aaron Banks I think that there are better centers out there better options maybe on this team Than Jake brindle look out for Drake nen to challenge Jake Brendle good scheme fit very experienced at the college level has that streak of nastiness then at Right Guard and right tackle I could see a couple of things happening here I could see Dominic puny taking over at Right Guard John Feliciano taking over at Center and beating out Jake Brendle and Drake nent I could see Dominic puny maybe taking over at Center I could see jerck Kingston taking over at Center could Dominic puny start at right tackle a wild card Spencer berford at right tackle that's been thrown out there on social media although I think that's somewhat unlikely but the point here being the middle right side of your offensive line once again an issue going into 2024 so Center Right Guard right tackle they will be good competitions in Camp for The Starting roles but also as the backups what can a Ben B do what can a Nick zel do it's up for grabs if you're ped up for where Nick Bosa Javon hardgrave are back Eric Armstead Chase young are out taking over for Eric Armstead Malik Collins who's been more durable more productive the last two years and then Leonard Floyd who is one of three players in the NFL over the last four years to have nine plus sacks lot of Ben good twitch coming off the edge definitely more consistent than a player like Chase young whose Highs are very high but his lows are very low and then as backups it's going to be a good competition here you turn gr Matos Robert Beal you signed gr Matos in free agency last year you drafted Beal who has a quick first step and then at the other end spot Drake Jackson Austin Bryant Drake Jackson it's put up or shut up time as I'm about to talk about and then back up defensive tackle you sign Jordan Elliott from the Cleveland Browns you brought back Ty y McGill you brought back Kevin givenin and you still have a young player in Kalia Davis who needs to be able to stay healthy I think this defensive line in 2024 can be better than the one in 2023 Collins can be an upgrade over Armstead and then grave hopefully can rebound to what he did two years ago which catapulted him to that 4-year $84 million deal with San Francisco with Drake Jackson the ability is there man he's 23 years old when he's played he has had some sack production but the coaching staff has clearly lost trust in him as evidenced by the chase Young trade and the Leonard Floyd signing they could have stood Pat in both of those instances they did not and he's also coming off a knee injury at 23 though again the ability is there but some people have question is work ethic if he doesn't work harder might not make this team put up or shut up linebacker position all going to hinge on the health of Dre Greenlaw here if healthy ners once again still going to have one of the best linebacking cords in the NFL Fred Warner the model of consistency and Elite play just an awesome awesome player an all-time franchise great and an alltime NFL legend at the linebacker position Niners picking up devonere Campbell to take over for that Eric Kendrick's role and I like the depth here I really do I think the D winners and Jaylen Graham have something as young players who are fast and instinctual Ezekiel Turner a backup linebacker who has a lot of special teams ability Tatum bethon you took in the seventh round a hard hitter Demetrius Flanigan fouls is a backup and then Curtis Robinson a backup too so with this linebacker room a lot hinges on the health of Dre green law there was some chatter about him coming back for week one I think that's lofty I think that would be risking it going into the off season quarterback position I thought was a big concern now it is loaded with depth and yes I am going with the rookie Renardo green to start on the outside opposite of charvarius Ward keep the Amador Lenor in the slot he's Elite there and he's very very good on the outside also if you keep him in the slot you're not going to have to pay him as much money I know it sounds messed up but this is a business if you need to put Lenor to the outside you can do that and he could certainly show up ball out there as far as your backups you're in a really good position Isaac yam Samuel wac darell lutter Jr Rock Yen Ambry Thomas another big year for him in the final year of his rookie deal and then your backup slot options Chase Lucas and Hall so at the quarterback position depth and overall Talent was a problem it needed to be addressed going into free agency I thought the Niners in free agency and the girat did a great job in bringing in some high level players there that could make the secondary a lot better safety taleno Hua Jer Brown they might clash as far as their Styles at the safety position I do think kuua should continue to be used as that chess piece Swiss Army Knight type of player who could play in the Box hybrid linebacker you want to include him on some some of those Blitz calls not really good option for the slot consistently because he's a little bit slow but is just an instinctual player with a good feel for the game Jer Brown in that case can be your deep safety although he does have a lot of the same qualities as taleno hu fona Malik Mustafa can be used anywhere Eric Harris more of a special teams player George Odum a very good special teams player that's why he got that contract given to him and then Taylor Hawkins he'll be fighting for a roster spot Niner Specialists Jake Moody All Things Considered I know he got the kick blocked in the Super Bowl and it ended up proving costly he missed the game winner against the Cleveland Browns there were shaky moments in the preseason and throughout the regular season but look the guy hit 250 Plus yarders in the Super Bowl and had a couple of clutch kicks in the playoffs good leg and as a rookie I actually did I think he kicked the ball well Mitch rowski continues to be one of the best punters in the game Taber pepper very reliable Long Snapper as for the return duties here for San Francisco Ricky piol isn't super dynamic as a punt returner according to his former Arizona State head coach Herm Edwards kind of said he's reliable didn't muff a punt at Florida he'll kind of Dart ahead for 10 yards little bit more explosive than Trent Taylor who doesn't make mistakes with the football but is a little bit small and he can kind of get you those safe 5 to 10 yards Ronnie Bell got experience there last year but was a little bit inconsistent and shoty but might have to be better there to crack this roster and then your kick Turners Jordan Mason Ronnie Bell and of course you have to throw Debo Samuel in there it's cool that you can use Debo Samuel in a situation in a pinch when you need a big play and now at these new kickoff return rules do you decide to use an offensive player and a weapon there to give your special teams unit and then in turn your offense a little bit of an edge also special teams players are going to be going down the field with as much velocity to lay as big of hits as they have in the past because they have to wait until that kick is caught so I'm
