San Francisco 49ers: Latest Depth Chart With Predictions

Rogers and 99 time to break down the entire depth chart here for San Francisco we start with the most important position of course quarterback and of course Jimmy Garoppolo is the starter he is the franchise he is the guy the real question is how many quarterbacks to the 49ers keep my guess is only two I think it goes to CJ Beathard as that second guy Nick Mullens has been pretty darn impressive so far this preseason I just don't think he makes the team I think Beathard is still the guy there for San Francisco at QB - now our friends at bet D si have the over/under set in terms of touchdown passes for Garoppolo in 2018 23 and a half so hammer away in the comments section you're going over or are you going under here's what I'm doing I'm typing oh here I think Garofalo gets around 26 27 touchdowns in 2018 especially with all the weapons that he has and especially when you look at the running backs for San Francisco four more pass catchers they're not you know bowling balls goal line backs it's not the reality of the depth chart there for San Francisco so I think there will be a lot of passing touchdowns this year for the 49ers give me the over on that one and this edition of the Jerick McKinnon he of course is your top-line guy Matt Breda there at 2 on shaky ground because well he's dealing with a shoulder injury most 'red is your special teams ace and the question is does Alfred Morris actually make this roster I think guys at this point you got to be done with Joe Williams I don't think he makes this team so it comes down to those four guys if the 49ers decide to keep three running backs if they don't then you can just X out Joe Williams and there's your running back depth chart for San Francisco meanwhile at wide receiver this is really interesting to me now I do have good one there as wide receiver number one but I think he's interchangeable with Garcon there Trent Taylor is your slot guy of course but Donte Pettis could emerge during the regular season I think San Francisco keeps six receivers on the team I think Aaron Burr bridge makes the squad especially because of his special teams ability I think Pettis of course makes the team Kendrick Bourn is inside that depth chart as well I actually think Richie James could be on the outside looking in there for San Francisco which is kind of sad to see because he's made some good plays during the preseason there's just not a lot of room for him at this point let's take a look at tight end now I have been singing the praises for George Kittel as a premier red zone target he'll spend some time on the football field as a starter along with Garrett Selleck there is a good collection of tight ends on this depth chart here could go in many different directions not the biggest deal in terms of question marks I think the bigger question mark actually is right guard right now I have Jonathan Cooper on the offensive line as that starter at that spot Garnett is right behind him though now I've been really holding strong in terms of this front five for quite some time Staley at left tackle Tomlinson at left guard Richburg is your center of course coming on over from New York McGlinchey is right tackle ken Cooper beat out Garnett that is my homework for you guys when you watch the game on Saturday night watch right guard who wins at the line of scrimmage and who does it better Garnett or Cooper keep that in mind could be even Mike person there's some buzz that maybe he could be the starting right guard although I think that'd be a bit of an upset if he does win the job all right I Football Focus stats meanwhile Solomon Thomas at that Leo position but watch out for Jeremiah etat you really intrigued to see what he can do and of course Arik Armstead if he is even healthy at defensive and and with that who will be the 49ers leading sacker this year because I just don't know I mean I want you guys hitting me up in the comments section right now because I have no idea it may not even come from a defensive lineman could come from a cornerback for crying out loud because edge rusher is a big time concern as we stand speaking of a linebackers well I had to take Eli Harold out because of that trade so Dakota Watson is your de-facto Sam linebacker right now at the starting slot along with Rueben foster now I will note technically Rueben Foster will not be on the 53-man roster to pick off the season because of that three-game suspension you got Malcolm Swift there at weak side as well so really intriguing story line who starts at mic is it Warner or is it coil keep that in mind there but of course when Foster comes back he'll be the elite linebacker that he can be all right let's go to the defensive backfield now I am really excited to watch this group fall out Sherman all-pro corner then you got Witherspoon coming off a really solid rookie campaign Kay Juan Williams is good at the nickel then you got tart and Kolbert at safety here so I love where the 49ers are at in terms of the secondary it was a big time concern heading into the offseason they addressed it some of these players are going to get better ie a witherspoon a Williams tour various more excited about him and then of course you have Jimmy Ward who is slightly overpaid JK he's actually woefully overpaid to be a bench guy but he is very versatile so with where the 49ers stand really good position especially in terms of these starters and then of course we got to give some love to the special teams Robbie Gould is your kicker I think pinion wins the punter job over Jeff
