Brandon Aiyuk Trade For Jordan Addison? + T.J. Hockenson Injury Update | Vikings Rumors

[Music] we're getting Wild on today's edition of Vikings Now by Chad Sports we're going to start off today's show talking about the idea of trading Jordan Addison for Brandon iuk and then on the second half of today's show I'm going to be answering questions from Vikings fans as a part of our weekly live shows we do here every single Wednesday normally around 300 p.m. 3:30 central time so if you guys could you know tune in for that I would really appreciate it but hey before we dive into it guys training camp is starting so if you guys are excited for Vikings training camp give me a scull but what started this idea of you know trading Jordan Addison for Brandon iuk well it starts off with Brandon iuk requesting a trade from the San Francisco for ners this was coming in from Mike garolo saying wide receiver Brandon iuk has officially requested a trade after an ex or after an offseason of unsuccessful attempts excuse me to reach an extension despite a recent meeting the ners haven't been willing to engage in negotiations since May so iuk has respectfully asked out now the thing is with Brandon iuk is you know he's a tremendous football player you know no doubt about it I mean the numbers don't lie for auk I mean this p last season he was great and you see the yards per catch he was fantastic almost 18 yards per catch for iuk this past season and even the years before that he was pretty solid as well has never really had any injury history you know 17 games played in 21 and 22 played in 16 games this past season and you know Jordan Addison he's been fantastic himself like his rookie year was special you know these numbers you see on screen right now these were majority from Nick Mullen Josh dos and jiren Hall throwing him the football and he was almost a 100 catch receiver with almost ,000 yards he had the Deep threat ability 13 yards per Catch 10 touchdowns and you know obviously with the off the- field issues going on with Addison you know the ners they don't want to pay iuk so they could take Addison on in a rookie contract and you know the Vikings aren't paying the quarterback big money so they could take on IU's contract if they you know extend him and you know this is my thought this would be fun but no like it would be sick to have Justin Jefferson you know Brandon iuk TJ hackinson Aaron Jones in the backfield it would be some of the best weapons in the National Football League no doubt about it but this you don't pay two wide receivers 30 plus million I had my dad call me almost every single day this off season saying oh you can't pay Justin Jefferson 30 plus million I couldn't imagine his reaction if the Vikings paid two wide receivers 30 plus million I just don't think it's the best recipe you know to winning a Super Bowl and plus with the where the Vikings are at right now you're set up to have a whole lot of cap space next fore agency I would rather have them allocate those funds elsewhere get an elite interior offensive lineman go get an elite you know interior defensive line and just do something with that money instead of a wide receiver too because hey also Justin Jefferson even though his cap hit over the next two seasons is you know pretty low at 8 million and15 million you know in 20 29 he's going to be making $39 million 2743 and then in 28 48 like if you pay auk you're going to have damn near $70 million going to wide receiver spot through two uh through 2026 through 2028 so listen you have a general re or generational receiver already in Justin Jefferson it is not a need to have a great wide receiver too and also I'll say this let's say the Justin uh or let's just say the Jordan thing spirals out of control Vikings end up cutting him they end up you know trading him for a six round pick it is the worst case situation with Jordan Addison receivers lately have been coming out of college more NFL ready you know compared to the past years I think it's just natural with a lot of these guys are playing a lot more seven on seven football when they're younger you know just the overall you know you know progression of athletes has taken a huge step forward over the past couple years I mean we've seen it Jamar Chase came in year one was a top 10 receiver even are Justin Jefferson he came in right away he was effective you know even puka naua last year he was a mid- round guy he came in and he was taking over the NFL for certain parts of this past season with the Los Angeles Rams but that's my opinion on it I'll ask you guys would you trade Addison for Brandon iuk give me a t for trade give me a p for pass down in the comments section really curious to see what this fan base is going to say about this but I'm going to say I'm going to say P for pass you guys let me know your thoughts down below all right let's dive into it the mailbag section of today's show I love this part where I just answer questions from you guys and the first question is coming in right now from my Vikings Legend Jared Allen saying will the Vikings suspend Jordan Addison we can stick on that conversation um I'm gonna say yes I'm going to say Addison gets suspended for the first three games um I think it is going to come out that this wasn't an alcohol rated DUI I think you know from what I've gathered right now this was he was getting off a plane he took an edible pulled over fell asleep behind the wheel you know that's what I would say um will happen so I'm going to predict it I'm going to go three games for Jordan Addison um but again I really have no idea as it stands right now um hopefully it's zero but you know I just think with the you know or following Kyrie Jackson's death I just think the Vikings are going to in the NFL you know they're going to have to overreact to this Plus Plus on what he did last off season with the reckless driving going 140 mph in a 55 zone so yeah that I I I really don't have a good answer for you if I had to predict it right now I'd probably actually in Dallas Texas so I'm in Cowboys country right now you know even just talking about that Gary I need to somehow get back to Minnesota and be around Vikings fans but how did you become a Vikings fan you know I can give my dad uh credit for that one um he wasn't really the biggest football guy uh growing up or didn't really have an affiliation with a team when he was growing up in Chicago then he moved to Minneapolis when I was born and that was when you know Randy Moss Chris Carter Cole Pepper that team was there he fell in love with the Minnesota Vikings so that's kind of where I got it I was born in Minneapolis my dad was a diard Vikings fan so yeah that's the that's the best answer I got for you on that one Gary but really appreciate your Super Chat man uh really goes a long way here so shout out to you but EV coming in with the next question saying with TJ hackinson out until Halloween nikil Harry moving the tight end making him have a chance to start yeah so we did get that report coming from OTAs I believe um that nikel Harry is going to make that transition to tight end but also TJ Hockinson was on the busing with the boys podcast lately and um he he said he could play week five against the New York Jets so he's not ruling that out I could see TJ hackinson also being one of those guys who like like how the hell did he come back from a torn ACL that fast and plus with modern medicine it just helps speeds along this process you know a whole lot but hey n Harry at tight end that would be a that would be a movie for the Minnesota Vikings but I don't know or my man Boris coming in saying do you agree with Randy Moss about JJ McCarthy great question thank you for bringing this up Boris um yeah Randy Moss said um on the kadam show that he believes JJ McCarthy should start week one and his biggest argument for that was he was saying back in the day like first second and third round picks that they all played immediately so he was saying the Vikings should do the same with JJ McCarthy um I'm still in the camp that I think um Sam darnold should start week one but I also retracted a statement where I said there's no chance JJ McCarthy starts week one I actually disagree with that now I actually think if JJ goes in the training camp and he goes and wins that job and he is the best quarterback in that room I actually think Kevin okono and the crew will run him out there at MetLife Stadium week one but Adrien Peterson coming in saying who is the most underrated player on the Vikings good question um you guys also let me know Minneapolis played his colle uh football with the Golden Gophers I think he's going to be great next to Ivan Pace not really household name as it stands right now but I guarantee you Vikings fans
