NEW Jordan Addison Update + T.J. Hockenson Injury News | Vikings News & Rumors

Intro [Music] what's going on everybody Welcome to the Vikings Now by Chad Sports my name is Patrick seatman and we got a big time Jordan Addison arrest update as it is looking like it may not have been an alcohol related DUI we'll give you guys the newest reports there and then also TJ hackinson hopped on the bus in with the boys podcast talked about JJ McCarthy talked about his injury and where he's at in this rehab process so you know I think we start off today's show with this if you guys want the Vikings to be fully healthy this season do not jinx it just hit that thumbs up icon without any injuries just drop a like on today's show all right let's dive into the Jordan Addison part here as the California Highway Patrol released an interesting statement guarding of the Jordan Addison Update Jordan Addison arrest and this is what they had to say in California site and release is the practice of police issuing you a citation for suspended unlaw unlawful conduct but not bringing you to jail for a formal booking instead you are released on the condition that you make a signed promise to show up to cour later on the process is mainly uh for lowlevel offenses such as mem meter or infractions and that is key because a DUI with that is alcohol related obviously is not a misdemeanor um or an infraction it would be obviously a lot more extreme than that so what does this mean for Addison well I have three options um I think number one he either declined the breathalyzer so no BAC content was able to be registered which still could be the possibility and if that is the case I actually think Addison could be in more trouble than we originally thought but number two and this is the one I think that is more likely it could be another drug such as marijuana but they couldn't prove either you know how high he technically was in that state when he was pulled over or the third option and this could either be you know worse or you know better for Addison it could have been another drug and they're still waiting on the lab work but I do definitely think it's interesting that he either declined a breathalizer or there was no blood alcohol related you know content uh registered there for Addison so this definitely changes things because if this you know if we got BAC levels and he ended up being hammered it would be a terrible look for Addison one considering what had just happened you know to his teammate Kyrie Jackson but it also make a lot better if let just say this was you know weed or Mar or marijuana related you know I could see the situation where Addison was hopping off the plane at LAX shout out Miley Cyrus for that one um and they just pulled over to the side of the highway you know fell asleep behind the wheel and they weren't able to test you know how high he was because you really aren't able to do so so that could be the situation or if it is the third option where it's like there could be another drug involved that could either be really really bad for Addison or it could make it better um in comparison to you know obviously alcohol so still waiting on you know exactly what went down in California but still um Addison still extremely you know disappointed in his actions you know I'm not trying to say you know it's better to drive high in comparison to driving drunk but you know it definitely is a you know better situation for Addison if it is marijuana in comparison to alcohol because if it is alcohol I could see him possibly being suspended for at least three games cuz that's due to the NFL rules but I could also see them overreacting and trying to send a message to the rest of the NFL that we are putting this to bed we are having a noons rule you know in terms of driving while intoxicated so you know I could see him maybe get half a season if that ends up being the case but I'll ask you guys this what say you here should the Vikings suspend Jordan Addison give me a y for yes give me an N for no put your GM hat on here obviously you know if I want the Vikings you know win the most games they can this football season I'm going to be saying no but you know obviously this is uh you know this is going to be key to the message that the Vikings send the rest of this locker room make sure you guys let me know should the Vikings suspend Jordan Addison and also if we get any more updates show TJ Hockinson hopped on the bus and with the boys podcast it was an absolute hoot and they were just asking him questions you know what do you think about the Vikings season what's going on with your latest injury history and then also what's going on with JJ McCarthy but they first started by asking him hey TJ hackinson what do you think the Vikings record is going to be this upcoming year and he had a very very lengthy response he went into full detail and he said 17 and0 obviously you know being a little satirical there but Hockinson has high praise for this Vikings team obviously you know he added a joke after this but you know I love having TJ Hawkins say the Vikes you're going to go 17 and0 you know set your standards up as high as you can and even if you don't reach those standards you'll be a whole lot closer than you know if you didn't kind of the old saying like you know aim for the moon and if you don't land on the moon you land amongst the Stars so I love that from TJ Hockinson you know he's got high praise for this team he went into more depth talking about just how much talent they have on both sides of the football talked about the free agent additions of Van GLE and Jonathan Gard how they have looked apart so far this off season so he thinks this Vikings offense and defense is going to be humming this year and I just love to hear that but the injury news on today's TJ Hockenson Injury News show this was TJ talking about his uh rehab process he said they haven't really put a timeline on it we're just kind of taking it day by day week by week there's just so many variables that you can go through in this process at this point I'm at now I feel really comfortable about being able to come back and be the player and I was an even better that's huge for me and also this he didn't rule out week five versus the the Jets they asked him like Hey are you excited to play in London this upcoming year like will you be ready for this game and he says I think I have a chance to play so he didn't give a definite yes or a definite no on that but it's also great to hear that hackinson said he's working back to get to his old self and you know I I just think with modern day medicine nowadays like this isn't the same situation where it was with like you know even though Adrien Peterson back in 2011 came back from that torn ACO you know better than ever think about that that was damn near 13 14 years ago and now now in 2024 like these ACL injuries yes it stinks for the player it still takes a long process to come back but there is no doubt hackinson will get back to the same guy he once was but I do want to share this quote about him talking about the injury Kirby Joseph because I'll call it like it is it was a completely dirty hit by Kirby Joseph and he says I wasn't too happy about it that's not a fun one to take that's not necessarily based on him as a player I got nothing against him I played with him in Detroit and I understand that's kind of what they expect you to do in the league but on the same hand I'd much rather gone down with a concussion for two weeks then uh then to have to go through this for nine months and you know I'll say this Kirby Joseph uh he's a scumbag you know I I I hate getting up on here and bashing a player like I am like you know as I am right now uh Kirby Joseph but I mean look at this hit he had on TJ hackinson literally just putting the crown of his helth hel just going straight to the knee and also I'm furious with the NFL he didn't get fined or suspended for this hit you should have sent a message right here this is unacceptable we are having one of our stars in the NFL get injured off this play and then what happened in the Wild Card round he did the same exact thing to Tyler higgy literally the same exact play leading with this crowd of his helmet aiming towards that knee what happened to higgy he tore his ACL as well you know people always talked about you know hip drop tackle this off season as that being a you know a huge play in the NFL that contributes to injury and also I'm in the camp that I want the NFL to get back to being a more physical style of play Hey Kirby Joseph hit him up here in the chest don't hit him at the knees this is some of the softest you could do you know in the NFL so you know Kirby I just you know I obviously him playing for the Lions plays a factor in this but he is definitely on a short list the players in the NFL I hate the most right now so you know hopefully the Vikings can dial up a play action play when they play the Lions and beat them over the top with Justin Jefferson you know or one of these receivers we have but Haw also JJ McCarthy talked about JJ McCarthy um in this podcast and he had an awesome quote and you know just speaks even more ammunition you know that we have for the Michigan quarterback but he said he's been grinding in the film room he's been grinding in the classroom he's a baller on the field obviously to have a guy especially a rookie when you come into the facility into the league you usually need to shut your mouth and go to work that's exactly what he did and listen we haven't heard anything bad about JJ we heard Blake Cashman the other day on a podcast Rave about JJ McCarthy Rave about his arm Talent say puts so much zip on the football that even though windows closed faster in the NFL compared to the college game he still able to fit in those Tight Windows throws and you know the thing about the Hockinson quote I like so much is when he was talking about how JJ just kept his mouth shut put his head down and got the work right away I think that's key in life especially if you are starting a new job if you're you know hanging out with like a new group of friends or you're new to like a aaou basketball team literally whatever it is and you're the new guy there the best thing you can do is just shut your mouth get the work prove yourself and that's seems like what JJ McCarthy is starting to do so that's great hearing that from Hockinson and I'm sure you know obviously JJ McCarthy had that great uh connection with loved one this past year the Michigan tight end I'm sure he's looking at TJ Hawkins and saying that's going to be my best friend besides just and Jefferson so you know just great news there love hearing that JJ and hackinson are building that connection and that Hawk is you know seeing it with JJ and it seems like he's also earning the stripes you know amongst the Vikings Locker Room but let's show TJ hackinson some love as
