[Music] overall that um yeah I mean in general I think pretty encouraging obviously my last start I kind of talked about feeling more like myself and and tonight I think it was that but more and obviously kind of some weird plays in that game and and you know it happens but it is what it is and um you know make a better P ball on and play all that kind of but um no I felt a lot better I'm as encouraged as I've been since you know 2021 probably cutter was like par fast cutter was that potentional or just like what you had a feel for I mean if you if you look back in my career that's kind of been what I do I've obviously had times where I I feel really good about the lighter and and you know at times like throwing decent change UPS here and there but really I throw four team competitors and change ups and um you know kind of getting rid of the big slider and and trying to make the cutter a little bigger to right I think is a big thing for me obviously they they had seven Lees in there today so um didn't have to do a ton of that but um yeah all in all I think kind of the the basics of pitching when my delivery is is Right seem a lot easier strikes throwing first bit strikes throwing curveball for strike throwing curveball under I think all of it seems a little um easier I guess when when my body is in the right place now you know I think we keep talking about performing and and obviously the the line isn't as good as as I would like to be but you know I felt I feel very encouraged by by tonight how do you separate the two the weird plays the bad defense the numbers that might look L from the progress you feel you're making yeah I mean I think it the the longer I've been here the more we look at these kind of like underlying num stuff and and all of that and I think tonight was probably one of my better starts in a long time from swing Miss strike percentage things like that and so you kind of have to trust that and and believe that you know it's all going to even out or whatever but uh you know it's one of the better offenses in in baseball right now I felt like at least I had like a fighting chance to get everybody out it wasn't kind of like I hope they get themselves out I felt like I could get guys out and um there's bits and pieces that didn't go perfectly like that but for the most part I felt pretty competitive when you talk about feeling like yourself is that with the mechanics is it just the way you're able to attack guys tonight like what is it honestly the biggest thing is if I just pick my leg up and throw a ball and not think about it like it needs to be a strike and it it hasn't been for a long time and um um you know in the bullpen last before the last start it felt like that it didn't really play out that way but tonight it was kind of in there and I didn't have to um cue it if that makes sense I didn't have to like tell myself to do something to hope it worked out um I felt just a lot more like I picked up my leg and was able to kind of throw the ball over the plate at least is that something you think just comes with time as you come back this year just yeah I mean it's it's time it's delivery it's mindset it's all of the stuff and you know I probably made it harder on myself the way that I think about pitching in terms of all the tinkering and all that stuff like it it probably has made this process longer and whatnot but um you know at least today and when I go to sleep tonight I I'll feel like I kind of um am somewhat myself again and and that's that's a big big thing for me did you say this is the most you felt like yourself since 21 yeah I mean 22 I didn't have very many game one one good game that I remember other than that I you know I think I think tonight was my best start I had the one good game here against ciny but I thought I threw the ball better tonight it just kind of worked out a little differently than I would have wanted but um in terms of the ball doing what I wanted and and being where I wanted and velocity and shapes and all the kind of other that we talk about like I I think tonight was probably the best thr the ball thanks guys
