Isaiah Rodgers is exactly where he needs to be.. He was born to be an Eagles cornerback

oh here we go I'm good a long time uh it's been fun you know I've been waiting on this moment and it got here faster than I thought but you know I've been just uh enjoying it and having fun and flying around so you've been I think running with the first team pretty consistently start camp or I think the last four practices feel like there's been some separation at that like spot leading the back at this point uh I won't say that I think uh it's you know it's a competition at the end of the day and you know I've seen this happen before you know you can have one good week and one bad week you never really know so it really comes down and the coaching staff it's not really up to me at the end of the day so I'm really just going out there and trying to do the best I can and it's competition at the end of the day and and we both understand that how help you going against HJ and Damonte day in and day out uh it definitely helps you know going against the best best guys in the league you know it makes your game a lot easier when it's time to go against Other Guys across the league because you're going against the best of the best you know even through walkthroughs and day in and day out and just picking their brains and understanding you know what I'm doing wrong and them telling me you know what to do better so they definitely make my game a lot better say you made a a mistake obviously was one that like didn't hurt anyone did you do you kind of feel like it was unnecessary for the Colts to cut you as a result uh I won't say unnecessary you know rules are rules and you know I I I did my time and you know I'm blessed to be here so I think you know everything happen for a reason that's the way I go throughout my life so you know I'm here for a reason it looks is it looks like you have your here I guess how meaningful over the past year is it have and your family with you everything uh it's definitely everything I need it you know it uh kept me motivated throughout the year you know give me a reason to wake up and keep going and you know continue to chase this dream what were you doing at this point last summer what what were you doing uh I think the Colts and Eagles had a joint practice around this time last year and that's when I actually uh got got reached out to to you know s me so I actually I think around this time I was you know really is working out and waiting on the call so do think when you came I think overall as a person on the field and out the field I'm better you know in every aspect I think I I took this year to reflect a lot and I think I definitely understand you know this is something I never want to lose again so I'm definitely not taking it for granted and I've been locking in on my craft and and really just trying to be better in every aspect of my game since like big value's versatility in secondary where do you think you are in that how vers you be as a defensive back inside outside uh I I could really do whatever you know coach say you want me in the slot and I can do the slot it it was a time where uh we didn't know who was in and I end up having to do a little nickel rep and a dime rep so you know you never know when your number's going to be called and you know I always preached that throughout my whole entire career so going back to when you caught the eagles's eye at joint at joint practices how did how did you learn that uh my agent called and just said uh the Eagles just had a joint practice with the Colts and they were fighting then they called and said they wanted me so I was like I want to be there so it just went from there you w't practicing no no I was home I was sitting on the couch when I got a call you said they were fighting it was yeah the Colts in yeah last year I heard about it yeah both two great guys great guys you in touch with anybody with the uh yeah for sure I call uh I talked to Kenny a lot Julian Blackman EJ speed out here so the guys I came in with and and you know took me under their wings so definitely family end of day is there a moment when you were either like camp or training C where you made a play you just felt like you know what I'm back ready this I think it was the other day I got reinstated I came down here and I had a condition test the next day and just been able to run you know run with the team cuz you're never in football shape till you get back so I think been able to run with the team and noticed I was in shape I when I knew I was I was fine been a long time since you've been in a game would you like to play Friday night against the play the whole game but I don't know if it's possible but if I can I I will cuz I definitely I think the coaches want to see too I want to see where I'm at and you know just finally just run out the tunnel and play a game one thing you want do when when you're on the game like break up that be like right back I I want I want to pick six kick return I want everything I just want to make up for you know lost time so is corre me if this wrong at Round 428 428 yeah did you still run that now yeah I'm faster than that now faster than that yeah way faster than that has anything surprised you coming back like you forgot and you were sort of like Oh shoot that's right this is I forgot really how good AJ and Devonte is you know I watch them throughout the year but it's not really they don't hit you till you're in front of them actually have to guard them so that's one thing uh I've been I've been learning the new return rules and stuff like that but it's it's really going to kick in when you go against a different team and and really get the full speed live rep so how's the communication it's funny he he's a quiet guy but when he talks he always got something very very important to say so he we always joke around with Toledo his college and you Mass with mine so we just really just always have laughter throughout the building you mentioned oh yeah you m better than Toledo any day I always tell him that you mentioned the nature of like the competition but what's have been like competing with these guys with also getting to know them throughout Camp oh it's fun it you know it keeps you level hited you know you can't come in here and take a day off cuz it's guys that you know we got a lot of guys in the room who can start on any team in the league so you can't really take no days off you can't come in here and not study your playbook like you really come in here and be locked in every day and I think that's what I needed to come off my suspension obvious with that what have you Lear about's him as a person what think U he's he's he making a lot of plays on the ball but end of the day it's not even about key you know it's it's about me key we got other guys in the room the spots open you know so really is it's not just me and key in this race so we really just all just enjoying the time right now and and working hard apprciate for
