Nick Sirianni is Useless and Matt Lafleur is to Blame | The Optimistic Fan Club Instant Reaction

Brazil's Terrible Field shame on Brazil for that venue overall like the field conditions Terrible No One seem prepared for it but I do have one note on that obviously when you're going overseas 9h hour flight you want to have these guys playing on a good surface especially considering you know what kind of injuries could have happened completely non- cont just from slipping out that's a whole other canbor worms but I wanted to start on this yes Philadelphia won tonight yes they looked good because they are so loaded with talent and they now have Vic fangio and they have kmore on the offensive side of the ball like Nick serani just knows how to be a CEO head coach I guess but I mean I don't know how much of a real leader and grasp he has on the team we're going to get to that in a second but Philadelphia just looks so stacked with Talent saquon Barkley that seems like what Baltimore was trying to go with with the mobile quarterback and Lamar Jackson and then bringing in a big name running back in Derrick Henry except Philadelphia did it with a guy who was more conducive to the modern game of being a three- down back because he's a great receiver like that catch he made to open up the scoring in this game was beautiful like not a lot of running backs can do that it's really Chris mccraft free sequan there's not a lot of feature backs bigname guys who can do it that well receiving and running but he was just on one this the center position without Jason Kelce when you lose a Hall of Famer that's pretty tough they'll get those smaller things ironed out I never put too much stock into that and you know Adia Brown looked great Devonte Smith looked great Jaylen Jalen Hurts' and Nick Sirianni are Carried by Talent Herz I think the numbers are kind of lying in this one two 2 78 two touchdowns two interceptions as well the interceptions were bad they were really bad and he had a lot of turnover worthy plays as well now I am a Jaylen Herz fan I've come out in defense of him I like him more a lot more than I like Nick serani as the head coach but it didn't seem very convincing even when they're making great plays downfield field it just seemed more like you're hitting layups you're hitting the open shots you're not really in command in the pocket throwing the ball downfield in the same way that Nick serani leans on his coordinators Jaylen Herz leans on his talent and that's all fine in Danny but at some point you have to make an evolution to where once free agency starts to become more of an issue guys want more and more money a lot of contract tracks get renewed at once you need the guyy who's going to be the staple of stability as time goes on and I don't think that serani nor Herz are those guys right now when you watch Jordan Love's Trajectory is Greater Than Hurts' Regardless of Outcome Jordan love tonight I know he played bad at times Miss some open throws through also a bad interception really bad interception falling back off of his back foot into triple coverage essentially when he's on it looks intentional it's so convincing his arm Talent is undeniable late in the game on that final drive rolling to his left when they're trying to go for the win with 23 seconds left which we're going to get to in a second that throw was Rogers esque right down on the sideline on the money you know rolling to the opposite side of your throwing arm that's crazy stuff right there and it was more than just that Jordan love you got to pray just for the NFC in general that he's going to be around this year because that injury late in that game it looked a little I don't want to speculate too much but it's either an ankle or a knee maybe he's back if there isn't a f te anything you don't again you don't want to speculate too much but didn't look great so you know prayers up to him he's such a exciting young player and that that's the thing with Green Bay the Eagles were in the Super Bowl two years ago this game if they were really building off of all of these things that they had established and if they really were that much of a Powerhouse in the NFC I don't think this game should have been as close to as close as it was the Packers are really young home grown team outside of Josh Jacobs it's like all their skill is drafted and developed and I think that's the point where you walk away from this one as long as you're not an Eagles fan looking at Green Bay as long as Jordan love is healthy and say like I kind of believe in that trajectory as the season goes on and into the playoffs a bit more than Philadelphia because Philadelphia's been to the mountain top they were right there I know that Green Bay was in the NFC championship last year but they overachieved to get to that point or sorry they went to the divisional where right a like a kick from going to the NFC Championship they overachieved still last year and it was love's first full real season as the starting quarterback of that team so there's there's just really something Philly is a Loaded College Team and Sirianni Should've Been Prepared unconvincing I know it's game one but just unconvincing about the Eagles because they just seem like a team that's great at recruiting in college football just a collection of the best players at their positions across country and that can work to win the big games this is something I talked about in my video last night for the instant reaction after the Ravens game you can be so so talented and have these great pieces and these guys you know Lamar Jackson jayen Herz great players great Players whose legs and ability to create things on the Fly help you win a lot of games Prime Time games and all that but at the end of the day in the playoffs are you going to be able to be the guy the franchise dude that hangs back in the pocket hits the throws in the face of pressure makes the right decisions personally still after today if I had to make my pick in the plast I would take the Packers over the Eagles for all of those reasons and now I I want to talk about Nick serani for a second if you've been following my page you know that I put out my video the Nick serani problem yeah great title right I can't get past this one thing about tonight two years ago the Eagles play the Chiefs in Arizon Iona in the Super Bowl what is happening all day in that game one thing people are Slip Sliding around because they aren't in the right Footwear because the field was just kind of weird and slippery if I have a head coach who's been to a Super Bowl and who's trying to lead this team that is just loaded with stars and pro ballers who had future Hall of Famers on on it I expect you to realize going into that game and have my have your team prepared being like Hey we're only wearing six stud cleats today or five studs whatever it is we are going to have the advantage because we're prepared and for me as a head coach who doesn't call plays who's not involved in the defense who has not a ton you know maybe some things to do with the offensive scheme in general but I think that's a lot more Kell Moore you got to be on the little things like that like the logistics the small things about game day like the things that the secrets of football that bill bellich taught to Tom Brady it's just with Nick serani I have such a hard time respecting the guy as a head coach who you should be taken seriously relative to the amount of success that his team has had it just doesn't seem like he has it it just always feels like to me when I watch him with how emotional he gets the fact that he needs to have an emotional support bodygard big Dom I don't know man that that that's not who I want leading all of this Talent so yes great game by them all you know best of the luck in the world going forward they're going to light it up they're going to do a lot of things but I just don't trust Nick serani going forward deep down the stretch I'm sticking with that take going the season again I'm not saying that their season's over this not this is an instant reaction but my position on serani is rooted in a lot more go back and watch that video I'll link it below but I don't just I just don't buy Matt Lafleur Needs to Mature, Stop Making Same Mistakes into him too much now on Matt lefur though Matt lefur has a very young team very young Team all things considered like I mentioned a lot of it is drafted and developed homegrown throughout the roster but Matt Flur has been around for a while he's had some deep playoff runs when he had Aaron roders around and what was one of the big glaring marks on his tenure when he was with Aaron roders in the NFC championship against Tom Brady and the Buccaneers not going for it late in the game when you're in the red zone and giving your opponent the ball back giving Tom Brady the ball back and them running at the clock for just for Green Bay to never touch the ball again happens again tonight I know there's eight minutes left but kicking a field goal there where you're now still down to I know a field goal can win it but Philly's been moving the ball and late in the game with a team with a great running back and a very very good running quarterback I don't like those odds I would still rather make them March their way down the field when we don't get the touchdown because you need the touchdown to win anyways you're going to need two possessions if you kick the field goal I really don't understand that but then beyond that then after once you do get the ball back late in the game 27 seconds left because of you know the bad exchange at the goal line between Jaylen Herz and his Center they fumble kick the field goal now green be has Green Bay has to March down the field score touchdown to win and you don't tell your kick returner hey take the Touchback In The End Zone let's take the ball at the 30 don't waste any time we don't have any time outs instead this guy runs it out from Deep In The End Zone Deep In The End Zone only to leave you with 22 seconds then to try and win the game and Jordan love still sets them up for Hail Mary chance unfortunately gets injured would have liked to see him rip it downfield one more time you know on a Prayer ball maybe he could have really reul some Aaron Rogers magic but that that is a lot of that is on Matt lefur I really didn't like those two decisions throughout that game and if you are fortunate enough to get Jordan love back that's the way you got to start playing because that is the way football is being played now the Rams like their whole approach to taking gambles trusting your guys to make a play and go for the win it's what the Chiefs do the Browns do it a lot I know that's at a different level but the lions like that is the way you have to play and that's the way that you have to win early on after a 9-hour trip going to Brazil I want to try and play for the win in those moments even with 8 minutes left like let's make them come back let's stay on the offensive let's put them on their heels and try to make them score so didn't really like that overall fantastic game couldn't ask for a better pair of games to start the year super exciting stuff but yeah I just think overall the moral of the story is the Eagles are going to be really really talented I don't know how great of a long-term team they're going to be I like Green Bay's trajectory more because of Jordan love because I think those young guys are going to continue to make each other better as this season goes on because they're hungry man like they they really seem like they want it I feel like not Are Jalen Hurts and Sirianni on the Same Page? everyone primarily Jaylen Herz and Nick serani I don't know how much on the same page rights that was a big thing that was a big storyline coming out that there was some friction going on there I think serani knows he's on the hot seat I just don't think that there's as great of an osmosis within everybody being on the same page in Philly and that's based on nothing other than my speculation from what I've seen and what the past has told me so far so don't take my word for it that's just what I'm going with but again overall very very fun game to watch I hope you all enjoyed let me know what you think let me know what you think about the Nick serani situation do you think Philly will get back to a Super Bowl because that's really the only way I see Serana coming back if he loses in a divisional or in a bad showing in the NFC Championship I I think he's gone next year I don't think they bring him back because you still have enough Talent where you could just bring in you could bring in Bill Bell Che next year you could bring in some other high-profile coach when everything gets shuffled and you could still be a contender that's how good the organization has become I just think sirani is the wrong Figure Head for it but yeah let me know what you think if you think that's
