Eagles Offense just got BETTER + Jalen Hurts SPEAKS on Brazil Issues & Packers DC EAGER for Friday

Intro the Eagles got some great news at practice today as the team prepares to fly down to Brazil this week for week one vers the Packers where despite the new twists in the nonf football categories more birds have come to the fence of the outof country opener plus here why Green Bay's new DC is very eager to play this edition of the Eagles offense from Thomas M this is the Thomas M [Music] Eagles New Jersey Combo show everyone loves coach football and week one was fantastic including watching Eagles quarterback coach Doug nus Meer son play for LSU last night play great at quarterback or maybe you found a new favorite Michigan State player of the weekend in Long Snapper Jack Carson Wentz and no that's not a joke that's his real name either way though it's finally game we for the NFL and the birds of course were not only back at practice yesterday but rocking the black helmets after confirming that not only black helmets but black pants and white jerseys would be their home opening attire for their game in Brazil which also Green Bay they're wearing green FYI just for those still worried about the whole green at the stadium is not allow thing and as we start NFL Week 1 you want to go let me know we're going to draw that probably sometime next week now out practice BIG Injury News yesterday we got some really great injury updates including not only Isaiah Rogers but jix hunt Dallas GD and even Johnny Wilson all officially back after missing multiple practices with injuries like Wilson for instance we haven't seen him in weeks since taking this big hit in joint practices with the Patriots so again good to see him suiting back up as far as Dallas scard he missed multiple practices last week and officially just having his helmet on and seemingly being okay is really good news for the birds however the Eagles do not have to designate any injured players until tomorrow so we won't officially know who's probable or who's likely or who's doubtful but either way thumbs up for the birds being seemingly pretty healthy heading into week one now speaking of Birds Brazil Schedule the next couple of days here's the official schedule in terms of getting to Brazil they've practiced on Monday practice on Tuesday in Philadelphia before boarding a plane for the 10-hour flight to Brazil on Wednesday morning which is a long flight for some but not for aie Native Jordan Milada who said it's going to be a walk in the park it's a short flight they'll land in Brazil Brazil Wildfire Update get to their hotel and probably have a walkthrough on Thursday we'll hear from the players and coaches there as well before of course heading to the stadium for Friday night now in turns to the latest on the ground in Brazil those record wildfires they do continue to spread across the Amazon as really bad smoke and poor air quality heads towards Brazil Bans Twitter South Pao but recent political events have added yet another wrinkle to the whole Birds versus Packers on Friday night in South America for instance Brazil just recently banned Twitter or X from their entire country and has implemented fines do anyone caught using the social media platform going forward and no we're not getting political here on the channel it's a football channel although I tend to kind of lean towards the idea of free speech either way I'm explaining how it actually affects the Eagles game this means Eagles versus Packers beat writers and NFL social media Personnel will not be allowed to tweet from their cell phones or their laptops during any part of the game if they're actually in attendance which has caused a lot of media members to voice their outrage on ironically Twitter calling for the NFL to cancel the game and move it back back to Philadelphia well sure I'd support this from a free speech and I guess more simply the Eagles just getting to play at the link for a pivotal home match up in the NFC the NFL is not going to cancel this game no matter how much Twitter is allowed to be used or Wildfire air quality or crime or anything else people continue to kind of talk about heading into Friday's matchup the game will go on it will take place in southp Brazil and the Eagles are going to need to go ahead and win Slay Calls Out Brazil and with that in mind the eagle players themselves did a pretty good job pivoting from the Doom and Gloom of let's say last week's press conference by AJ Brown C Runner Johnson's tweet of concern even darus slay's comments last week on his podcast I do not want to go to Brazil you want to know why I'm here to tell you why they already told us not to leave the hotel they told us we can't do too much going on because the crime rate is crazy you know what I'm saying I'm like NFL why y'all want to send us somewhere with the crime rate this high and and like we out the country so you know the first thing people thinking is like something terrible can possibly happen I told my family do not come down there because like I'm not gonna be nowhere to be found really I'm be in a hotel chilling mind of my business playing my game after a long nine and a half hour flight so I don't have no intentions on doing nothing I'm going eat Hotel food I'm doing everything but they said yeah man it gonna be pretty crazy down there you know uh the police said they gonna be you know try to be the best they could possibly be the Top Flight security of the world create with Hurts on Defense eagle players this week seemingly pretty darn excited about the opportunity to play in Brazil and hopefully be the Packers for instance Jaylen Herz he had a really great response when asked about the whole situation I think it's a it's so once on a lifetime opportunity something to be very excited about you know the international stage Brazil from what I've heard it's it's a very amazing Place beautiful place um and a very very passionate passionate place as well when it comes to sports and and their fans and so I'm excited to get a taste of that the same can be said about running back saquin Barkley who was in this locker and asked obviously about going down to Brazil is it going to be weird is it going to be awkward do you like the idea and again another solid kind of business the answer from rb1 my mind said to go out there be locked in and try try do what we can to come out with a win and I think everyone's talking about you know not saying us but the questions that's being asked and you see in the media is oh what's going on there I look it as an opportunity we get to play on something we could do something that no one in NFL has ever done before um and I'm excited about that and at the words of jayen Herz squin Barkley or even Nick serani during his press conference weren't enough to kind of calm the birds down McKee Helping with Brazil they're apparently going to be relying a lot on backup quarterback Tanner mcke who spent two years in Brazil on Mission with the Church of the latterday Saints a few years back who apparently has been speaking to the team and helping answering any sort of questions as they prepare to head to a new country I think a lot of guys have questions about the safety and the culture mck said it's easy for people to be scared about things they don't know it's a completely different country that a lot of people haven't visited and they're going to speak a different language and the culture is going to be different it makes sense to take precautions and things like that we do that no matter what game we're going to I'm just telling the guys I think everyone is going to be pleasantly surprised how nice everybody is down there and the culture and the things like that and again at this point I'm tired of talking about non-f football things I know there's a lot going on in Brazil right now that do technically matter and should be talked about but right now it's about going down there being safe playing the game on Friday and beating the Green Bay Packers because 1 and0 versus 0 And1 is a massive difference in the NFL now I think the big matchup Becton vs Packers Dline again getting back to football here is going to be the Packer pass rush versus the New Look Eagle offensive line and well Nick serani apparently during his press conference didn't officially say Makai beckon is going to start at Right Guard not really sure why it's like not really a surprise at this point either way Lane Johnson at his press conference essentially did and confirmed just how important becton's play on Friday will be to the teams winning week one get as much confidence as I can in him um you know he's obviously super huge guy and you can't teach that and he has a lot of great traits uh but for him just about uh you know being confident in him um you know being vocal with him and uh yeah man just uh I think that's really it just giv him a little confidence that goes a long way and he's uh he's been great in the meeting rooms uh you know has been coaching coaching him hard and uh you know making a transition from tackle M guard it's a different you know lot lot shorter space here in the phone booth but he's he's played except exceptionally well I think with reps he's going to continually get better but you know it's hard to teach 68 uh whatever he is 350 60 whatever he is now Packers DC Not Scared Green Bay is going to be unleashing their new look defense led by new defensive coordinator Jeff hafley who's kind of known for this attacking style Fearless play calling kind of going all in all at once and he doesn't seem too worried about the bird's weapons on offense when he told report this past week he's going to let it rip versus jayen Herz and Company when your first game calling plays in the NFL is that exciting nervous what are your emotions going into it I'm excited um you know you put in a lot of work a lot of time and it's not just me it's really the whole staff right everything that we've been working forward from the moment we got hired and we sat down we spent a long offseason together uh we went through OTAs we got through training camp we pieced it together what we wanted what we liked what we didn't like a lot of hours of different thoughts and ideas and going through training camp and and seeing what we liked against Matt and then obviously in the limited time we had in the preseason games and and now we're in the process of piecing it all together and having a game plan and I mean for me it's like this it's just like I talk to the players and I mean this um we're going to work really hard up until the time we kick off and my Sheet's going to be in front of me and I'm going to let it rip and we're going to call it we're going to play fast and we're going to be physical and I'm not going to hesitate on the call we're going to get it in quickly to The Quay so they can look out and see what the offense is coming out in and we can go line up and play uh once that starts maybe I'll be a little anxious before kickoff but we're going to work to the point where we're prepared I trust the players I trust the staff and I just got to go call and they got to go play and execute and I cannot wait for that to Hurts Taking Over Protections happen I think the Packers DC is going to Blitz a ton early on just to kind of see how Beck in is kind of see how the offensive line feels and really see if jayen Herz has figured out how to play against the blitz which has been something that's been in the media a lot recently although Herz himself did assure reporters yesterday he's been preparing for this exact moment this this is a really good team it's a really good team they got a lot of really good players have a really good quarterback and running back and receiver core and the D line is dline is is is really good and attacking the ball and uh creating problems up front and we just um you know it comes down to preparation you you guys have heard me say it enough you know how how we uh how we prepare and how we have prepared you know and um have an opportunity to just display that and compete against a really good team still though it will be jaylen's first test not only in Kell Moore's new offense due the lack of preseason snaps we'll see how that goes and of course calling out protections for the first time something that made headlines in the media last week when Herz basically confirmed that Kelsey made all of the pre-nap protections over the past couple of years which seemingly kind of stunted herz's growth as a quarterback a little bit and although we're still wondering exactly how it's going to look in terms of the old offense and Herz of course calling stuff at the line pre snap jayen did confirm and double down to the media that he's pumped about the next step in his career in terms of this exact scenario I think as a quarterback you're always evolving you're always growing you're always taking in new new knowledge and new information and I think that's what makes us better you know and um that that's that's that's always been my Approach is to grow every day um grow every day learn every day and take in the coaching every day and as I said I have I have new roles and responsibilities but everybody has new roles and responsibilities on on each on each team in each year because no team is the same um when you go from your to year and so I'm just excited for this group my my role in that group and um you know we always talk about Domina in your box and you know accepting your role and doing that and so we're just taking it day by day I think the Packers are going to Blitz a ton early on it's up to Jen Herz of course to recognize it have the right Hots out of it and hopefully find Devonte Smith AJ Brown and even squin Barkley for big Gams now speaking of Devonte Smith I have him as an extra X Factor on Friday night not only after not being named a captain by his teammates maybe a little extra motivation there although neither to take one Barkley and so there's only so many captains logos to actually go around on a team not a big deal but really because Packer Star Quarterback Jer Alexander is going to be tasked with shadowing AJ Brown all night leaving Devonte Smith hopefully matches up one-on-one in the slot on the outside against the Lesser Packer Corners where he can feast all evening long it's crazy we're four days away from the Eagles actual week one opening game no more training camp no more preseason no more meaningless football games this one actually matters and there's a lot of noise going on right now we're going to cover everything happening as Philadelphia has another practice tomorrow flies down on Wednesday and hopefully has a nice smooth win week one
