welcome back everyone my name is Patrick you're watching the Oilers rundown well we're having a bit of controversy here this morning and it all revolves around Evander Kane there was the big reports on the weekend from the two mons podcast that Evander Kane was not going to have surgery he was feeling good he was going to be ready for training camp in September but Oilers Insider Bob staer releasing a report this morning that completely contradicts that stoffer reported hearing there is a very good chance that the Edmonton Oilers of Vander Kane won't be ready for the start of the Season that he may require surgery and is likely to be on ltir to start the year the two mons podcast issued this response to Bob stofer's report the Edmonton Oilers could be forcing a Vander ke's hand here on going for surgery from all the information we got over the last week he was doing well in his recovery he's been able to train and do activities Kane was planning on being ready for the start of the Season he would take part in the captain skates as well in early September going under the knife for surgery wasn't in the cards as of a few days ago Bob's information was not available to us as we were told what we reported and they go on to say that they're getting a lot of hate messages in response to their report and it being contradicted here by Bob stoffer if you're one of the people sending hate messages to them please don't do that there is absolutely no need for that yes their information is different than Bob's but I feel like there could be a bit of a disconnect here between the emont Oilers and avander ke's Camp he might be putting out one message the Edmonton Oilers may be putting out another message and it's all getting misconstrued here so obviously I'm going to go with Bob stoffer here on this one he is the Oilers Insider so if he's saying that Evander Kane is likely to start the year on ltir that is likely what is going to happen obviously the Oilers are in a bit of a salary cap crunch here they're little over 2 million over the salary cap I believe so obviously they still have to sign Philip roberg and Dylan Holloway they were involved in the two months report on the weekend as well they were saying those deals were going to get done this week so hopefully that does happen and it gives some more credibility to the two months report they have a great track record as of late that's why I went with their report and I think there are parts of it that are entirely correct and like they said that was the information they had at the time Bob stoffer is going to have more credible information than they do he is the Oilers Insider so we'll see what happens here regarding the rest of the report they had Leon dry cdle in the $13 million range on an eight-year deal and like I said Dylan Holloway and Philip broberg contracts getting done this week for I believe they said Holloway 1.3 and broberg 1.1 but going back to Evander Kane if he is on ltir that does solve the Oilers salary cap problems for now but it doesn't sound like he would be on ltir all season long So eventually the Oilers would need to make a move the Cody CC trade was the thing that made the most sense but if ke is going on ltir that Cody CEC trade does not need to happen right away and there's nothing for sure saying that Cody CCE would have been the one to go but as I said that is the trade that makes the most sense it clears the necessary cap space the Oilers have Josh Brown and Troy steter there able to step into that third pairing right shot roll so we'll see what happens here guys but but for now if a Vander Kee is going on ltir the Oilers salary cap problems are solved for the time being they can sign Philip broberg they can sign Dylan hallway and they'll be ready to go for September as those are the last two players that they need to sign let's see what happens there there should be more news coming down the pipe and who knows maybe we even get the Leon dry SLE deal done this week so that's all for now guys but just wanted to let you know the latest on Vander Kean let me know your thoughts on the two months podcast B offers report do you think there's credible information coming from both sides like I said there's seemed to be a disconnect between the elmon Oilers and a Vander ke's Camp All Summer Long the trade rumors all that kind of stuff so should be interesting to see how it all works out here but right now it looks like a Vander Kee will be on ltir to start the year let me know your thoughts on everything in the comment section below if this is your first visit to the channel and you like what you see please consider liking and subscribing for all the latest Oilers content you've been watching the Oilers fanatic thanks for being a fan [Music]
