I couldn't do it without my boys at the o line ja man putting the ball right on me great ball honestly feels great did great for the fans man fans came show out Walker Champions had me excited honestly it was just a great experience did you anticipate a first game like this three touchdown um I mean it was great it was great touchdown that it happened honestly but I mean just with the plays I practice just getting the reps with j and everything like that you know something good to come out of it so I it was a great thing to see you didn't have sort of the the speed plays that I think a lot of people expect you to make and that you've made in your career but to have the impact does that what does that mean to you to do that oh man it just mean like it's a lot more out there that that could happen honestly like um just great just situational football man just team football just know where I fit in that just playing the ball what has it been like working with Jackson getting that chemistry down and how do you feel like the offense played tonight as a whole um I feel like it's great with Jackson honestly man I feel like I look at him like more of a older dude honestly not even like a freshman or whatever you would say that he is but honestly um I feel like offense played pretty well tonight um had a couple jobs out there that we wish we could get back but um we just going to correct from it learn learn from me look at him Coach will told us about Jal going to miss some time what's that been like for you guys just as a unit Jade now Jal trying to kind of Step Up and fill that production um yeah mean unfortunately them guys got hurt man I don't really want to speak too much about their situation but honestly we just need more people to step up man it's like honestly The Season's going to bring these things that TR to bring you down honestly but it's just about who step up and take that spot next and and just go honestly deut than what you um I mean it was great out there honestly tonight um I mean I probably could have feel like I left a little couple players out there that I wish I could have probably got on or me and Jackson could have connected on but man we got a great great team win so it was a great thing out there do you feel that on the on the sideline you feel like the weight of like I I need to go to this next level um can you repeat that question I'm sorry do you feel the like the weight of the moment on the sideline when you know that someone like jal's going down yeah defin it's definitely somebody got to step up bring the energy on the sideline man when you got a player like Jal man that go down like somebody got to step up and bring that energy man and try to replace his energy honestly so it's like yeah man let's let's get this going man CU I know that's J want out of L you had a couple touchdowns in the spring game your first game here three today four next week let's hope so man I hope it's four next week me to give me the ball early man just to get me going to get a feel of the game get a feel of the ball man I feel like it's a great thing that we got that type of trust man I hope we keep going on understandbly we're going to open up the whole Playbook tonight but still getting you involved in the running game how how big is that for you kind of going forward to start getting that part of the Ws down and chemistry behind the off all that stuff man it's big thing man honestly it's good man just honestly just being able to move different spots man just seeing what coach SE TR do with me as well just moving me trying to do little emotions create confusion with the defense man I feel like it's a great thing and I like it Howard was saying you know obviously he's a guy from a smaller school and transfers he only has one offer coming in but he said the two of you came on your official visit together and so the idea that you're both now in this position is not too farfetched but is it at all sort of like pinch me like wow that he and you are did what you did today man I honestly don't feel I feel like everything happened for a reason honestly man just when we first came up here it was interconnect man it just honestly V is leader the first day he came in he was vocal and stuff like that of course you the new guy coming to a new school same with me like I'm a new guy come same school but man it's a standard here I mean I want to be held to the standard too as well and I'mma held everybody else to the standard because D want me to do that so I mean I feel like it's a great thing coming from Purdue what's it like playing here at this this place now that You' you've got a full full game under your belt man um all respect all respect to Purdue man I love Purdue man it did a lot of things good for me man honestly here just with the Walk of Champions man I just I was just smiling like God man this is crazy man the love here is definitely crazy the atmosphere is crazy man so just want to do that for the fans with you know not too many passing yards tonight how much room does this offense have you know just to keep getting better and better man it we got so much potential man just to keep going and keep climbing honestly man you got some people that we probably didn't even see honestly man as the weeks going on like I feel like this is a starting point and honestly we just going to keep going up and up do you feel any pressure today um yes honestly I always do during the game honestly like you just go out there like you always going to have little butterflies and stuff like that but I mean um just do what you do honestly at practice practice I feel like coach BV do a good job of making practice harder than games so honestly just to play loose and just do what you do coach Venable said that you I mean you're a guy that's known to always have a smile your face but he pointed out how competitive you are what is what does that look like that we don't see I mean we see the what happens on the field but what does that competitiveness look like in practice uh playing cards I mean I don't know like where does that come out a lot of bleeps at practice with the defense honestly uh it's it's man defense is great honestly defense will frustrate you because he's like God it's experienced defense they've been playing together playing the ball a long time so if uh it's not going to go your way all the time offense going against our defense so just like but I mean it's just competitive love that's it yeah what when are you most competitive outside of football outside of football um I'll say sure I'm playing Billy or something on NCA honestly I don't want to lose so I I feel like that's another thing got got your defense had six
