Kobbie Mainoo or Angel Gomes? ASMR

hey everybody back with another video um and in this video I want to talk to you about copy Mayu or Angel Gomez for England now as those of you that subscribe to the channel already know I'm a big man united fan have been since a very young age I'm 35 now unfortunately for me and I I worship the ground copy Manu walks on I love him he has been you know since January the only Shining Light in my world as a man united fan but to address this conversation this debate come Mayu or Angel Gomez I want to bring this to the context of England and I feel a good starting point for this conversation is England at the Euros where we once again got to a final so for a team that got to a final what was the negativity uh you know what was the conversation regarding what could be better you guys will all know this throughout the tournament there was a conversation around balance okay balance so when we talk about balance you've got 11 players in a team right it is not always the best 11 players that you have in that country that makes the best team I'll give you an example one of uh the the English national team's biggest travesties of the last 30 years Sven Y and Erikson's 442 Gerard and Lampard as the two Central midfielders with Paul skulls on the left wing which led to ball SKS retiring from International football at the age of 29 now that is actually a great example that was ridiculous it just so happened that three of the best players in England happen to be Central midfielders and that is a way that you try and Sharm them into a team I'm not a fan of Shing players into any team Gareth wasn't that extreme however what do we have the Euros you had trippier as a left back which he can do but in the system that Gareth played with Phil foden ahead of him that also wants to cut inside W trippy is a right footer so he will go inside we had a we had a massive massive issue down the Left Flank the entire tournament is a miracle that we actually got to the final you also had Harry Kane that loves to drop deep and as I spoke about in the last video you know you didn't have any running Beyond it because you had Belling him and fod and that want it played into feet so that was a huge problem as well huge huge problem in the central Midfield area we had now let me try and get this right we had we had R start every game but Rice's initial partner was Galaga I think feel like it was calaga could it been Tren one or the other caliga Tren and calaga is that giving you the balance that you want to be able to progress the ball from the back through the middle third into the attack no it didn't do that Trent as a central midfielder who I believe at Club level had only played three games in his entire career as a central midfielder did that work now as we saw he got taken off at half time and then copy came in copy came and it gave you a lot more balance a lot lot lot more balance but we still had issues progressing the ball from the defense through the Midfield third now in the last video I spoke briefly about how that 15minute Cameo appearance from Angel Gomez that we saw against silent I was extremely excited about that guy is like the Energizer Bunny on crack he never stops jogging so he'll play a ball and then he Sprints to create space and he can do that I I've just seen him do that against Finland for 90 minutes that's special he is exactly the same height at 5'6 as enolo con he plays like enolo con when enolo con was in his Peak years now he is not as physical and he is not as good a tackler but what did I see is Angel gas's strengths against Finland his energy is Elite I was genuinely like wide hied I couldn't believe how much energy this guy's got energy is top level so he is constantly creating passing Lanes there is no better friend to a footballer than somebody that continually offers you a passing option Angel Gomez is a constant passing option for whoever is on the ball it is amazing it is Andrea pesque it is Luca modri esque and I'm not overblowing this for one game guys it was that that was for that one thing that was world class like legitimately world class I was amazed at how good he was at that secondly he is extremely neat and tidy on the ball I've not seen any STS from that game I'm probably going to go actually straight after this video and go and look at statman Dave on Twitter I would Hazard to Guess that a he had the most touches in the match of all 22 players and B he had the highest pass completion rate he keeps things extremely neat insidey so why it doesn't matter that he is five on six in a central Midfield role is because he never puts himself in a position where you can tackle him he buzzes around you because he's so energetic and so quick creates a passing Lane and plays a one one touch pass that's all he does for like 90 95% of his entire output is just doing that one thing and he is an absolute [ __ ] Master at it an absolute Master at that one thing so by the time you try and press him and Tackle him he's giving the ball away to someone else already having said that the other 5% of the time which he did to unbelievable effect is when he do give him a bit of space he loves a diagonal to to the wing like a floated ball to the wing he must have done like 10 of those in the game it was brilliant absolutely brilliant does he create like the drop of the shoulder like you saw with copy against the ne uh who was it did whoever it was in the Euros drop of the shoulder beating two men that are pressing him that magic moment no will he do like a a line splitting pass that takes out four people like copy can do on occasion no can he Tribble like copy can to drop the shoulder and break the lines now can he do like what we saw from copy against wolves drop the shoulder not make somebody and then Cur it into the bottom corner to score a goal now he's not a moments player he doesn't create Magic like copy Mayu does but do I think he brings here's the here's the question right is Angel Gomez what England need need more than what cby may knew is what England need after one game hand on heart as a man united fan who worshiped the ground that copy made walks on I would say it's a wholehearted yes I would say almost he's the missing piece what he allowed Dean rice to do the way he dropped in between the two Central Defenders he is is a phrase I'm going to use right that you hear about players like Luca modri like Andrea pillo see I remember when Italy beat at Euro 2012 and Andrea P just dictated the entire game I felt the angel Gomez last night and I know it's Wembley and I know it's against Finland he dictated the entire game and a lot of idiots that watch football will have watched that go in oh he didn't do anything you don't know what you're about you don't know what you're talking about he just did the simple things to such great effect that if that was Spain right if that was Spain Spain would have struggled to have pressed England playing out from the back because of the passing options that angel Gomez continuously created for 90 minutes so much so in fact it is a great example Declan rice didn't have to offer a second passing Lane like he did at times with copy against Ireland because Angel Gomez was just so available it made it look so simple and just so easy I can assure you that what he was doing isn't that easy it's just so Elite and world class what he was doing it was amazing absolutely amazing and I say this with heavy I I think he he probably needs to be there to stay in that England team um the second thing that I want to talk about when I talk about so I've talked about balance here right we saw it again with Gordon we saw it again with Kate dropping deep we saw it again with Trent Spain were not only the best team in the euro and frankly won it won it at a caner they were the most balanced by a mile if you think about that Spain team and and you know what I didn't do this in the last video but let's go through it you've got unai Simon who's a solid goalkeeper but major strength playing out with his feet guess who else does that Pigford when you create an environment in front of that can happen Spain have got Robin Len norand and um who did El was it Eric Garcia or was it it wasn't p uh I can't remember these other Center back is but they've got two center backs that can play out from the back you would say that we've got the same with Pro probably I'm assuming we getting to the point where our first choices Jon stones and M but actually we've got four options where that can happen coner and Maguire can play out from the back they've got Danny Carval elite elite elite right back who is extremely solid on the ball he's probably more in the Kyle Walker mold than he is Trent but we've got a leg up there with Tren I mean God the amount of chances he creates so not like for but fair enough and then they've got MK carea who inverts inverts but also gets down the wing that's probably more like Trent and we've got at the minute we've got what you've got Luke Shaw to come back into the F but they've got a back four that can really confidently play out from the back we have that we have that if you get the right back four and you've got the right options in front of them they've got rogery right the best six in the world Baron Baron and then alongside him Fabian Ruiz who is so so technically competent and has added physicality to his game and just a perfect partner for rogery and keeps the so when you've got Fabian Ruiz rogery in front of you you're never under pressure to be pressed with Angel Gomez alongside rice that's more in iTune with that and then they've got the high and wide Pace you've got you've got luminum ale that would prefer to cut inside but he very very quick you got Nico Williams that will just go so quick Anthony God payo saaka that's like for like almost and then you've got alaro marata who gets of stick but he's excellent at linking the player droping deep Harry Kane Lee Carley has almost created a Spain mock up there to a degree oh yeah and Danny went greish same kind of thing it similar Angel Gomez that she missing link that
