Schedule Prediction foreign [Music] let me tell you something guys not a single person who watched this show last year I did the same question like 15 times between March April last year through August predict Michigan's record from 2022 nobody got it right now a single person got a 12-0 record right unless they were joking some people said LOL 12-0 et cetera I saw a ton of 11 of ones Etc uh so my challenge to you guys will predict Michigan's regular season record the 12 games that are on the schedule let's take a look at them really quick if you haven't seen Michigan schedule next year haven't paid attention that much East Carolina UNLV Bowling Green will be one of the weaker out of conference slates in all of power five then Rutgers Nebraska Minnesota Indiana how guys Michigan State shouldn't be that good next year you're gonna be at October 21st and I don't know if Michigan will even be challenged at this point through four or eight weeks of the Season then they got a bye week challenge you know the Slate gets a little bit harder after that I think Purdue will be pretty good next year in November Penn State I think it's going to be uh top 6 17 to start the year I really like what we've got we've got coming back out of Penn State they got their have two freshman running backs coming back they've got a five-star quarterback Drew Aller who will be a redshirt freshman or sophomore whatever you know class they'll have them in uh Marilyn we'll see about them again to his brothers coming back Talia and then Ohio State coming to The Big House November 25th Michigan will wrap up their schedule as always of course guys on December 2nd with the Big Ten championship game but just count the games through Ohio State predict Michigan's record next year in the regular season this year coming up uh we are six months and uh six months and two weeks away from Michigan playing the first game going for a three-peat in the Big Ten three-peat beating Ohio State so passing game is so mediocre and what do you think could be done to make us top tier um I think it's mediocre because Jim Harbaugh is a tad to old school and he has been two old school for his entire coaching career but there have been bouts where he's you know the lights gone on if even for a little bit um and if you look back to his time at Stanford his last year there they came with a a very high potent passing attack in 2010. 2012. they went to the Super Bowl they changed their offense mid-year Alex Smith got hurt for a few weeks they put in Colin Kaepernick and they completely reinvented themselves with a read option system at the time it was the first time an NFL team had gone to a Super Bowl with a read option quarterback guy getting 100 plus yards pretty much every game in Colin Kaepernick so how about shown that show times with Michigan but it's never really been consistent the only time he's really been Innovative is maybe the last two years going away from the passing game almost exclusively to a run heavy attack so I think it's Jim Harbaugh being a tad to Old School in my opinion is the reason why Michigan has struggled with a top-tier passing game we'll see how they can shake it up can Campbell new quarterbacks coach be some sort of Difference Maker when it comes to JJ McCarthy entering his second year as Michigan starting quarterback Penn State vs Ohio State next question coming in from Bill Graves bill says do you think Penn State or Ohio state is the bigger threat this year well let's think about that for a second Ohio State better threat guess you can make a good argument I don't really have a great answer for you yet because I don't know what Ohio State's gonna have coming back on offense I think Kyle McCord is going to get the job he'll be coming in his third year of this pro at the program top 25 recruit um they've heard a lot of really good things but they've also got a freshman we'll be in the second year next year Devin Brown if one of those guys can turn into a confident level quarterback like Ohio state has been churning out for 20 plus years I've been to Ohio State's the answer because they have the best receiving Corps in college football top five running back room good offensive line strong defense but if not a quarterback then it's Penn State because I think Drew Aller is that kind of quarterback and they've got big time running backs coming back two freshmen who basically were their top two guys last year will be sophomores strong receiving group uh and a solid defense although they are losing a few core pieces I think Ohio state will be ranked fourth or fifth in the polls to start next year uh Michigan maybe third at the worst I spent State Penn State to come in sixth seventh or eighth so for now I'll say Ohio state but I do think Penn State's going to be a hell of a team and I think there's a chance that you know two of these three teams Michigan Ohio State Penn State will be in the college football playoff next season but ask you guys this question which of these teams will be better in 2023 Ohio State or Penn State give me an OSU or a PSU down in the comments let me know what you guys are thinking Donovan Edwards Stats Tyler Princeton do you think Edwards could get a thousand yards rushing in a thousand yards receiving somebody at the show on Thursday said a cool Mission have 2 000 yard backs that'd be crazy if Quorum got a thousand Edward's got a thousand and then Edwards also had a thousand receiving that'd be kind of mind-blowing but let's take a look at what stats were last year um missed five or so games with injury was the backup running back still had 991 yards obviously those numbers took a big bump towards the end of the year getting the start in the last three games Ohio State Purdue and then TCU but they didn't involve in the passing game as much as I expected remember he had 170 plus yards I think it was 175 in a single game as a true freshman against Maryland only 200 yards total last year so I think the answer is probably no um but if anybody could do it I think it's certainly Diamond Edwards I think he is an electric player I think it's probably the most unique skill set Michigan has ever had on offense outside of Denard Robinson right Denard Robinson was maybe one of the best running backs in the country also a starting quarterback for Michigan for three years how they probably could have put him in a wide receivers slot and uh and had some serious success I uh I think it's possible but I think with Blake Quorum coming back in the freshman then the backup to play Quorum this year and many people said okay he's gonna be a starter in 2023 now quorum's coming back to kind of 1a1b get him involved more in the passing game get him involved more in the running game uh at times don't overdo it with Blake Quorum hell get him more in the passing game when he throws the ball I remember the Big Ten championship game is a true freshman through a 45-yard just absolute Dart uh not Dart but you know perfectly thrown past down the sideline to Roman Wilson I think he could be Reggie Bush 2.0 and absolute game breaker he's gotta the last show thought we'd toss this out there so this is arrivals.com um writer for Ohio State says Ohio state is trending in the right direction for Jaden Davis if you guys saw what I put on the show a couple days ago I said I think Jaden Davis If he if it shakes out if it shakes out past March 1st I think he ends up at Ohio State and I don't have any inside information on this I have not been on top of the Jaden Davis uh recruitment once um we heard from a decent source that he had targeted middle to end of December for a commitment maybe even like the week between Christmas and New Year's that came and gone I just kind of threw up my hand and said well nobody knows what this kid's gonna do but I get the feeling that um I still get the feeling I'm sorry that he will not will choose Michigan I bet it's going to be Ohio state they're putting the pressure on him big time they're making him their number one priority after Dylan Viola decided to decommit from there the number one player in the 2025 for class so I don't think he's going to have Michigan I hope I am wrong don't say you do you do you know about that I have no inside source on this it's just a gut feeling that I have that he will not end up being a part of the Michigan football program when he decides to make his commitment he's got only a few months to do it I mean he's going to be in college as an early enroll League in 10 months from now so it's going to happen eventually I don't think it will be Michigan just a gut feeling Pizza in Michigan one of you guys what is the best pizza place in the state transfer so uh someone like AJ Barner would help Michigan where uh I don't know Eric all would hurt Michigan but help iOS somehow um most returning production in all of college football Michigan is the fifth most returning production between offense and defense uh I think it's like the number four most returning production on offense and then defense 78 Florida State Kansas FAU Wyoming and then Michigan number five you see down there the gap between Michigan and other contenders in the Big Ten Michigan State 68 that's 45th in the country Ohio State 48th in the country and Penn State 56 in the country why I find this interesting is in the article from Connolly on espn.com he basically says it is unheard of for a college football playoff team to be returning this much of the team to be in top five of returning production he says it almost never happens so that is uh some pretty exciting news he also lists Michigan as the number two team to improve year over year 2022 to 2023 only second to four to stay if you think about what's an improvement from a 13-0 uh start to the season Big Ten Champions college football playoff semi-final loss I think we all know what that Improvement
