#13 Michigan Football vs. Virginia Tech - 2020 Season: Full Game On NCAA14 w/ REAL Michigan Players

michigan football fans it's coach jimmy back for the fourth game of the season the final out of conference game for the 2020 wolverines here on ea sports ncaa football 14. we've had a tough season an interesting season so far two last minute last second wins washington ball stay and then a nice comfortable 26-10 win last week against arkansas state now we've got michigan virginia tech the number 13 ranked wolverines led by yourself myself coach jimmy taking on virginia tech at the big house let's get it rolling go blue all right kicking off uh you can feel the thunder in the crowd we did that coin flip before the game the wolverines won decided to kick off it's pouring rain here in ann arbor and this is a game we're not going to want to you know have an upset for so stephen's been good for the team so far this year offense we've struggled uh i've got my handy playbook here so i've got some plays that i think are going to lead us to victory on offense today so we'll see what we got well i get the game going why don't you guys mccaffery or milton i've had milton start all three games although i don't think uh i have played to the capabilities of of what joe will play during the season but 360 yards on 16 passes four touchdowns in the game against arkansas state so he's gonna get the start today but what do you guys think milton or mccaffrey in the real season in the opener at washington as things stand now things could always change in the future so let me know in the comments i really love to get this debate going i know the the the casual fan of michigan football might not be you know interested in video games etc but i thought this would be a fun opportunity to have fun this summer while you know there's not a ton going on in the world sports not a ton going on with michigan team reporting today i saw giles jackson driving across the country in his car giles hit me up i'll pay for a plane ticket for you on the dl if you want big time booster but uh let me know what you guys think milton orr mccaffrey is we got ronnie bell back to get the punt as my defensive coordinator defensive coordinator dc don is what we call him uh gets a stop on this one in one virginia tech team michigan as i said we're 3-0 although we really could be we really could be one and two in a lot of ways first game against washington if you didn't see touchdown with under 10 seconds left rushing touchdown and then lad the second game this guy's jackson 29 yard touchdown pass on the last play of the game he decided not to go uh for the field goal 46-yard field goal decided to go for it big and um go for a big touchdown last play of the game so we'll see what happens it's gonna be an interesting offense we'll switch it off as a playbook today we lost my custom playbook that i created for the first game trying to switch playstations here at the chat sports office so new playbook but we'll see how uh how this goes if we if we're you know learning any issues gosh penalty in the first play of the game trying to learn that playbook but that is what it is great great jim harbaugh though while i'm getting a penalty grade jim harbaugh a b c d or f and if you just say a b it's a rookie move you got to give a plus or a minus so if you want to actually have a take so great jim harbaugh five seasons with the wolverines which is kind of crazy to think about at this point um but that's what he's you know that's how long he's with michigan's football team as their head coach and it's been a really nice run i don't think it's lived up to expectations by any means but um i think a lot of fans are satisfied but you gotta start beating ohio state and that's my rallying call all year is beat ohio state again right here you go nico all right i'm feeling good about this offense today we're going to keep it simple i'm impressed with the points you guys might know notice we switched from four minute quarters to five minute quarters and that forward may you know make it easy for me to play games but it's actually really been a struggle to get a rhythm going on offense with uh with such short quarters there you go aj henning it's refreshment i like aj heading i think him saner stroll and jackson are you know for underneath guys obviously nego collins ronnie bell i think it'll be the outside guys in a lot of ways but for underneath guys for getting the ball speed in space i'm not gonna you know give away any secrets but i don't think josh gaddis thought that the team and the players he had last year and the ones that were entrenched from the wide receiver uh core that they were really the kind of guys he needed to get in his offense i think he likes oh my gosh look at this play oh my gosh look at that play that's an all-time play that's an offline play that is awesome i'm gonna show you guys this replay look at nico collins three hurdles turtle hurdle turtle i'm not even gonna say what he's doing to the guy there you guys know type below in the comments what was niko doing to that defender there what was a little bit of this i don't know i'm just saying i'm just saying but joe milton looking good so far in this game on this first drive porn range torrential ground downpour uh here monday june 15th now we got zach charbonnet involved walk-in touchdown wolverine [Applause] all right so a lot better start today uh i practiced a little bit um extra day you know we were supposed to play this game you guys know um supposed to play this game yesterday but technical difficulties at the chat sports studio so we had to delay it till monday didn't have a production staff you know in the office yesterday so that's why we didn't get it going yesterday and the game though it was a uh let's get the latest now inclement weather is what we're calling it at this point wisconsin down to purdue early first quarter they're number six michigan coming in if you didn't see guys number 13 in the country 3-0 started 17 so popped up four spots thus far it's a nice kick from jacob moody hearing some rumors actually and i'm gonna try and do this i'm gonna try and turn these games into kind of uh an insider style show in some ways but i have been told that there was a chance that jake moody might actually redshirt this year uh his third year in the program right second year 30 or 30 in the pro i'm whatever it is but to give quinn nordine the opportunity to be not only the main guy for um field goals but they went back and forth all year and norden kind of got at the end hit that long long field goal uh in the first half against alabama but that nordeen wants to have oh gosh i am no really bad play oh what am i doing here nordin wants to have the ability to kick off this year which we saw moody's doing for us so it would be interesting if nordine who didn't red shirt uh as a freshman if he decided to redshirt in his third year i don't know i'm off topic i'm 90 sure it's his third year um get him gosh i gotta be better at hitting people that's all right sacked for 11 yards hendon hoover uh who i don't know actually who that is but i've been told that's the guy that's going to get the start for virginia tech but wouldn't that be something if nordine decided to uh or took all the uh field goals and then also all the kickoffs in a year-long audition for the nfl and then potentially jake moody uh decided to redshirt and have a couple more years to be uh you know the man oh gosh second 21 now it's third and 14 after hookers quarterback picks up about eight on the scramble gets tackled so uh i'm pretty interested in hearing that some kind of inside info um yeah i'm sure other people have that info i'm not trying to i'm going to doubt that but i heard that from from a friend who uh who's been in a recent talk and now that michigan is back in the things you look for when you have a young quarterback the team's important today and tomorrow and now they are a little bit early i'm gonna have a lot more information from you because when no players are on campus when no uh practice or working out anything like that there's really not a way to get any inside info i mean how do you get inside info on the michigan football team you know in the last three and a half months you call you know call up giles jackson and ask him what he's eating for dinner i mean there's no way to compare and and now the coaches are gonna have a chance to get in front of these players i think we're gonna start getting a lot more information who's looking good who's looking bad uh i've heard actually michael barrett who we've got starting as our viper uh looks a little thin so i'm interested to see if that's true or if that's just kind of uh you know hearsay and happenstance we'll see about that but that's one little nugget i heard to keep an eye on was that michael barrett might be uh might not have put the you know the depth in his muscles that that mission was expecting defense coming good at play [Applause] so the quarterback can't get the ball in there charbonnet and hasken that's a really good one-two combo running back for mission i think either one of these guys is a good uh you know get that yes runny bell that was uh i threw that ball i regretted at the last second i thought that middle linebacker was gonna jump up and catch that but good thing that it's just enough uh i'm fine i thought milton's off to a really good start look at that um you know what was it six and six seven five something like 130 yards wherever they just flashed on the screen as i was calling the play how about passing does my full back in this situation kind of going under center um come on sharps come on so i tell you just one extra minute and a quarter seems like it's so much more because usually by my second drive successful or not uh you know this team would be already this game already in the second quarter so i'm glad we added an extra minute which will probably do the rest of the season as well we're going to keep running as you see we're we're practicing speed and space i've got i've got hashtags as my and he's tackled at the 10-yard line they're down let's go let's go on the ball on the bottom on the ball we're a running team oh you're not hitting that and they'll oh be a little short of the first downline well they get some positive yarns but this defensive line i'm going to go for here feeling ground offense today i think i'm going to go for it so they're going to go for it here michigan mason back in the game i like these odds yeah got it nice first down so they go on the ground and pick up another first one they are stringing together a nice little drive here would be hard to keep them out of the end zone [Applause] uh get in there touchdown [Applause] that's what i'm talking about that's what i'm talking about we're feeling good baby we're feeling good we're bringing it i'm going to stick uh i'm gonna you know maybe a little conservative this game make sure that we're we're not taking too many risks early on because the offense is just starting to feel good i did a little practicing over the last week or so and that's uh what we're seeing today i place you here worry about defense you see i am not that good at um i'm not that good at controlling a defender when guys in the open field so they're quarterback and if they were in a screen game i'm actually kind of nervous about that because even arkansas state had a little oh god had a little success running game on us the wolverines are looking down on defense but you know the flying around the statue is really good so far aware of what this offense is trying to do and dismantling them every single time right 14 nothing michigan end of the first quarter let's keep it rolling to the second quarter as they have three wide receiver set uh called 11's offense one one running back one tight end and then you've got three wide receivers jackson find a way the slot corner really interesting to see we see out of seldom because i think he was under valued as a recruit and throws it in um i think he's a true freshman we're going to see him get some snapchat early and that critter really helped him but unfortunately he only got about two months in before they sent all the players home but everybody seemed to like what they saw uh when he wasn't there gosh i'm so bad oh god he's in bounds and made a nice catch he is set i could just control these defenders and this guy's gonna get his hands on it you know the thing i'm concerned most about this year is they come out i was just thinking about this the other day don brown before the 2018 penn station right michigan oh gosh so michigan got crushed by penn state saquon barkley in happy valley in 2017. hey i remember don brown leading up to the 2018 game you know players saying oh he played this game this play over and over where penn state tried to score on us last second and don brown said he didn't sleep right for an entire year leading up you know after that game um and he thought about it every single morning when he woke up what i'm concerned about is why hasn't don brown said that about ohio state right like 59 62 points 56 points uh the last two years and 59 points per game haven't stopped them at all in the second half we'll have to do anything they want in both years in the second half which is really disappointing just like you know just like alabama did in the second half of the bowl game um but i haven't heard down brown you know have the humility about that and i know he said oh it's my fault and this stuff but i would really love to hear these michigan football coaches talk about even if they fail and that's you know some humility they'll have to swallow that we've been practicing for this game every single day all year we talk about ohio state we think about ohio state we wake up thinking about ohio state and i've heard about penn state i i feel like you've heard it about michigan state too which is surprising but i don't know if we ever heard it and the focus has been there so high upstairs so i've been on social media since feed ohio state again and we'll see but i'll shut up for a little bit here now um and get uh the play a little bit if you guys have any questions feel free to ask in the live chat here on youtube premiere or uh you know kind of beneath the uh the video in the normal comments if you're watching it later on you wouldn't be surprised if things changed in the second quarter 37 left a little more traditional offense get some of these guys involved mission coaches had to use him as a defensive lineman against wisconsin in the red zone and then decide oh we're gonna hand the ball off to our defensive lineman ben mason uh you know right early in the game after a big ronnie bell play inside with a 10 yard line uh which turned out to be you know kind of a disaster oh gosh there you go nico cohen's um and he fumbled right it's not his fault why would you put your defensive alignment he was taking reps of defensive alignment as a running back inside the tan on the road against a really good wisconsin team and it made no sense so i hope michigan and josh gaddis and jim harbaugh learn from those kind of ridiculous lessons that uh they've got in front of them after last season oh shoot fire's incomplete okay that's okay that's okay wait too long in the pocket he's gotta be sure he gets the ball in their hands let's see if nico collins is going to kind of come free from that defender there um but he did not so we're going to keep it running 256 left in the first sec first half second quarter [Applause] team [Applause] [Applause] a huddle up for a second and go to shotgun again you see his playbook is not the one i'm used to and so there's a lot of um there's a lot of plays that i don't think my all my situations i didn't need to get mike staying still in the game you see hanging in there so we're gonna get that cleaned up a little bit but all together i'm gonna go deeper challenge jackson here i think he's gonna look quiet i think he's the best player on this in his game for michigan no man it's an offensive lineman this is the worst team is your quarterback not only he's gonna do the same thing getting hit like that those linemen better pick that quarterback up and start doing a better job of taking care of it [Applause] [Music] [Applause] i said we're gonna go michigan should be doing it in real life we're gonna do it here should be going deep to nico count two times per game uh i'm gonna be a coward and punt it here because you took a sack and now it's fourth and sixteen dope will heart one of the best punters in all of college football so i'm gonna love miss with hunter's pictures this year defensive coordinators i might switch ronnie bell out of the park material i'm not sure if it's the right guy for michigan i know he's probably going to win the job but i feel like giles jackson or santa stroller henning would be a better or be a better fit for michigan takes it up to 43. he gets outside the 48-yard line to wolverines he's part of it and the rest of the team now is picking up his slack well this offense is still putting points on the board and i think at times they're actually using the wide receiver the go-to man who's drawing so much attention really as a decoy open up other avenues of this offense you've seen other receivers make some plays they're running the football so it'll be interesting to see what kind of adjustments this defense makes to try to slow down these other members of this offense okay who knows maybe 10 seconds you know they'd like to do something a little more than they did on their last drive when they had to put the ball away fire that right there get it get it oh okay milton's really good got some issues there but that was i thought i had that guy wide open i think it was that's that was hinting this week he's coming josh coach him up in the sidelines and really be determined here they are down by a couple steps what happens true i guess the big interception showing that character that their coaches wanted to see from their own 32-yard line first down okay it's second down six to go all on the 36 yard line we got michael barrett young man do a nice pass at jackson hill and that was an army game or iowa game last year good play okay third inches so they're out of bounds no timeout call for them they are probably gonna i mean they're gonna pass the ball i feel like here but maybe they'll run it i don't know so i don't think this quarterback can throw deep on me so i am going to protect deep but jam this line up big time the crowd of this stadium always a factor in a football game get him oh i don't know what that camera angle is sometimes you get close to the line they just switch the camera angles so i couldn't see where they were going 59 seconds left second quarter 14 nothing wolverines against virginia tech this is a game that was actually scheduled for a while for me to cancel it um but with the ncaa 14 they don't let you like alter schedule so you're going to notice in the big 10 play michigan is not playing the you know the actual season we're not in this year as the team will on the field in 2020 so the ohio state game and the penn state game are or how's the game the home game when it's supposed to be an away game i think the penn state is an away game it's supposed to be a home game so just got to deal with that stuff come on come on there you go and he's taken down around the 36 of the starting defense while we're waiting for these guys to kick the field goal so it's hudson saying it's witty pay it's a nice defensive line there with those guys and then former five star i don't know if he ended the five star but we all know um and carlo camp mazzy smith will uh hopefully get some reps no good yes this year uh michael barrett a new kind of a new face in the defense he's gonna be the viper starter i believe uh josh ross returning after injury and then kind of red shirting last year um camera grown and the secondary you're looking at the corners of vincent gray and ambry thomas the safeties of brad hawkins and that would be enough jaxton hill so that's your starting uh defense for michigan this year we're gonna try and throw it up see if we got here better than their last drive and i don't think this defense will lay down lightly they're gonna try to continue to rattle this guy kill kill check three [Applause] okay that's fine it's kind of like last play of the game you don't like any stat sheet but whatever 7-eleven 150-yard 149. in the first half what i'm gonna do is um i think i think my uh my depth chart has been changed here as we switch to a new playstation so i'm gonna pause for a second and make sure we are um make sure we've got mike sanders still in the game i haven't seen him unless somehow he got hurt i don't know about but we'll see we it's a torrential downpour in ann arbor fourth game of the season late september but you know we're in june i just don't like those setup players they look like they're always going to be trash we're about set to start things up again 10 fans come on tackle right around the 26 yard line one yard all right you sons of let's go let's go on this see we got they keep putting henning in there which i want seen or stole but i'm gonna get that changed for the next game but for some reason when i reset uh it has got hanging in there as the fourth receiver and four wide receiver set down i don't know see that guy he was on the m all right all right 14 nothing we are starting off really growing offense and now we're really stinking we're sucking i kind of look like a jim harbaugh offense in a lot of ways i think josh gas gonna take care of that this year but this looks like 2017 john o'corn jim harbaugh tim drevner offense there's got to be some sense of urgency to this offense right now they don't have elections you know i'm not that good at defense i don't like practice that much even though we're playing on under pressure oh gosh that's a good play uh all-american to be giving up many points this season i'm not switching to heisman i don't care if you guys shame me i'm already dealing with a delay because we're hooking it up through production software there's already a delay anytime i take a sack it's the it's it's the delay [Applause] jackson hill take on tavian robinson 39-yard catch now they're starting to they're starting to heat up now that's getting the entire game a little nervous [Applause] [Applause] sounds like a mob boss name sounds like he's the head of the uh blue chazy crime family it's a great name [Applause] all right we gotta get that going next time we gotta gotta cover that they were they just they ate us up the entire game made us up the entire game and third round space in front of him and he just kept on zooming until he had paid her damn they're gonna go for a extra point i gotta get my play sheet out we gotta score here [Music] all right we're up seven offense is looking great in the first quarter and has really stunk since chris evans back for the wolverines he's gonna be forced i think this year i think he'll be a wide receiver a lot uh special teams guy come out of the backfield i'm interested to see what we got one seventy could be on offense one yard so far in the second half it's that first drive but need to be complimented uh nevertheless something going here get intimidated be a bit overwhelmed they put that to the side gone that's why i like to see it we're hoping to do two touchdowns safer chardonnay [Applause] for a running team i get nervous that we might lose i just go to the running game and maybe that's what real football coaches do i don't know because i just feel like there's so much sometimes we're just going to turn the ball over every dang time got two interceptions from milton at the end of the second half second quarter so i just want to get in a position where we don't pick six or something crazy like that he's at midfield he makes his way to about the 48s okay now we're going to let it marinate for a second here three straight running plays was that four straight get eubanks involved a little bit here first down ten to go ball on the 48. there you go cut up the uh get four yards for three yards four yards [Music] [Applause] lobster out there get that first eubanks that was a nice [Applause] michigan i'm getting a little nervous here not throwing down field because i don't want to throw an interception but eubanks getting in zone yards and smell the end zone as they look to extend this lead okay spinning that all right it's good to know let's even pound in the end zone here get three touchdowns for charbonnet get in there touchdown [Applause] yes okay now you have a breathing room exhale everybody exhale with me two going uh i asked you guys a question who is going to lead michigan in sacks on the defensive side who's running the wolverines in sacks in 2020. we got a lot of cannons with camera grommets right um you know josh you say let's let the team uh your two kind of a hybrid linebacker position so it's not crazy to think that a linebacker would be that guy uh quitting pays obviously canada hutchinson is expected to be a breakout player after starting last year now kind of taking a chase winovich uh style star role from a defensive end as now he's an upperclassman in his third year um josh ross maybe i don't know michael barrett potentially i don't think it'll be kitten i don't think it'll be carlo kemp because i don't just doesn't seem like in general the demons of tackles don't um don't get a ton of sacks uh unless you're in you know in dominican sioux uh in college football field and he led a great cause you never know we'll see the defensive line not very thin uh on the interior so i think that's uh he gets rid of this one somebody concerned really the only reasonable depth that i see is mozzie smith uh and michigan doesn't even be recruiting very well um at the defensive tackle position i know they had hinton smith uh you know a year ago in the 2018 class but hardly any recruits after that and they went a year or two prior to that that's why i ended up with last year you end up with um some talk about the 18 year old that was all dc donny um that's how last year you end up with ben mason uh playing real snaps against what a top 15 team or whatever it was wisconsin at defensive tackle just no depth that's why you're jesse spate jesse spate jesse spade starting against alabama what was that after michael jumped right kind of thinks yeah i don't think he was ever fit for the program i should say that and i was the one who broke the story that he didn't you know it was was uh was that whole story about him getting an operation that's not why he went down to the michigan game that was oh i forgot there were no decks still give a chance that was all he got an operation potentially but that wasn't the reason why he didn't play in the bowl game guys let's be real here you guys are you guys are smart oh gosh that was a bad it was stupid by me oh gosh daxter pick it up oh gosh this one will go into this oh yeah it's a roll of the end zone that's amazing um you know he would had checked out after that and he didn't have the opportunity to play so if that surgery was too true i guess it you know potentially was but it wasn't keeping him out of the bowl game he had not been a great fit for for a while even though he was getting some you know some play some snaps um but when he indicated that he was gonna look around and transfer like the michigan coaches just did not want him at that bowl game so that's kind of the reason why he if he did get that surgery when they said that's the reason why has nothing to do with him being unable to play with probably an off-season surgery regardless as we go to nico collins again jeep not been working as easy uh as good as it had early on you know we had some success there early on not happening so far since the first quarter so 13 15 seconds left first quarter our third quarter one thing i learned in passing you can hit controls and throw like a ball down the ground so even the guy's tight on him you can de-risk an interception by just lasering at the guy's feet which i did there we've got a first and ten welcome back to the action here as we resume play here in quarter number four next game up we have two nights between games so we're gonna play another game on wednesday uh i think was that minnesota is that right there you go [Applause] making my own lyrics up right you guys know let's go flex over 100 for nico uh him and and milton certainly seemed to have a good uh uh rapport um under coach timmy's offense let's go hell got these slants i'm gonna see what's up deep for him that safety comes down i'm throwing it nope he didn't oh fudge watch out there's a bad plate on me i didn't hit the right touch just shows you that you don't need to be sacking the quarterback to disrupt the passing game 41. oh i gave it i handed off what the hell that was there's always this damn delay in this thing running through a production software at that time it was well played by dag gummy i really want to pass yeah the problem i can't it's really tough to run that spread option because there's no there's just not anything i was pressing x to hand it off and this was a half second late because it's a half second delay on my production software first down grab by the receiver and he's tackled right around the 24-yard line oh this is a great job for this young man to get the ball out of his hands he was facing an all-out blitz and didn't panic at all it's a nice pass and a new set of downs to show for it there you go hey go joe milton and he's taken down we're a running team [Music] this safety is as vicious a player as you're gonna find he will make the tackle every single time hmm and this is the ninth play of the current drive you stand back there and take hits like that you definitely are going to feel it the next day okay third and goal i don't think that turnover will be a terrible thing here [Applause] um guess we'll see we got we might need a field goal kick earlier in the year and i haven't done a lot of it this year so far ah so we'll see we've got the kicking team is on the field they'll try for three kicks let's throw it out to reese now for a studio update we take you out to his battle all right purdue beats number six wisconsin they line up to kick this one away he's to the 20. he's tackled at the 30-yard line the wolverines have a defense that's a sight to behold kirk well they just play with a chip on their shoulder they are all over the field the defensive line knows their job the linebackers the safeties the corners everybody plays as one and they've been fun to watch today and here we go with the
