[Applause] and we are underway from NRG Stadium in Houston and he'll go down as this drive will start at the 25 yd line so out come the Rams now for their first possession leading the charge and quarterback the former Georgia Bulldog Matthew Stafford every time he leads his team out there's no question he's put the work in to earn his place in the NFL there's no shortage of stories we've heard throughout his career about the effort he puts in to be in this spot and that motivates everybody on his team right to the air here's Stafford that's caught pukaa and they're able to get this one across the 35 right away they rack up 10 yards on their first play from scrimmage that's a good start to the Ball Game maybe a little bit of a tone Setter offensively they come out throwing right away and it's an early completion and a quick first down so from the 36 now first and 10 now a play fake and it's Stafford and he's going to go down the Texans come at him and able to bring him to the ground the defensive end denal Hunter drops him impressive individual effort there no one was going to stop him around the edge yeah no doubt about it and that's why if you play in a 4-3 base and your defensive end that's why you get the big bucks they count on you to do everything defend the run and of course get to the quarterback after the sack it's second and 19 and the road gets a bit tougher from here back to throw Stafford and that'll be incomplete took a pretty good shot as he tried to pull that one in couldn't hang on third down already came through for them on this drive no surprise that they were hoping he could do it again an incomplete pass on that last play and that means they'll need to come up with something here on third down Stafford now to throw he'll drop this down to Williams it's a gain of six but not enough as they'll be forced to punt on their first drive of the game how about that strategy there Brandon third down they just said we've got faith in our tackers we give you the short stuff and just decided to protect the sticks so every time I hear fans telling me tackling is not a part of the game anymore plays like that I can clip and save and show them you have to tackle well if you want to be a good defense Ethan Evans on now to punt fair catch called for and taken right near the 30 yd line it's just a 32 yd punt with no return and the Texans will take over so out comes this offense to take over for the first time and leading them out there we get a look at their six3 quarterback and you'd think as a young QB there'd be some nerves leading an offense out to start a game but haven't seen any sign of them right now and speaking with him earlier this week since that the pressure wouldn't get to him he feels comfortable being the face of this offense and shouldering the expectations on game day even if he doesn't quite have the years of experience other quarterbacks do St to the air on First and 10 escapes the sack dancing to his left and he will not make it back to the line of scrimmage as he's going to be taken down multiple players combined for their team's first sack of the game and they get to him right out of the gate and this defense hoping that that's a harbinger of things to come yeah when you give up a first place sack makes your quarterback wonder if he's going to go to the sidelines and talk with his offens coordinator and head coach and say Hey you know that game plan we put together we might need to change it right now the sack cost him only a yard it's second and 11 [Applause] now Stout that one too wide and incomplete had the right idea there trying to throw it to the sideline but he led him just a little bit too much trying to get it out to his receiver ends up falling to the ground incomplete an incomplete pass on that last play and that means they'll need to come up with something here on third down as St now to throw and he bats it away and it falls down incomplete Zone coverage there and they were playing deep that makes it obviously a little bit harder to run by guys and that time there was not much of a window to get the ball in there and it winds up incomplete the Texans send the punter out as he's on to punt for the first time this afternoon and now a low liner I think he M hit it and this kick will be touchdown as they spot it inside the 45 yd line so the Rams coming back on of the field their second Drive of the game the crowd may be losing just a little bit of the edge after back-to-back punts they want some big plays they want to see some offense they want to see somebody break away whether it's through the air or on the ground now it'll be interesting to see where the patience is on both sides each head coach can you hang in there and not try and force something that could put your team in some Jeopardy good starting field position for him as they come up first and 10 at their own 44 Stafford throw left side complete to cup they'll give him four yards there and it'll be second down I think defensively you're okay with that you're in the first quarter he's going to get some catches but they rallied to him quickly and that's what you count on and I like what you just said first quarter can you do it all game long they catch it you tackle them they go down on the spot because when you're able to do that you don't give up big chunks of yardage after the catch now you put the offense in a position where every series they have to work hard to pick up first downs and you tend to stall them out when you do that second catch for him today and it'll wind up a first down Charles to move the chains that time they had to complete it into double coverage and they got it done and it's never easy overcoming multiple Defenders but he sure made it look simple found the right spot to exploit and won his one on two matchup so here's a first and 10 at the 38 a first run now for kyen Williams and he can only manage to get a couple second and eight coming up well any Lane that might have been open there was closed pretty quickly and that was because the defensive front they won that battle at the point of attack at the line of scrimmage they used great leverage help their spot and stacked him up on second down here's Stafford open man right side is cup complete and Cup going to pick up a Rams first down as the tackle is made at the 28 yd line it's a nyd gain and it'll keep the drive [Applause] moving now a hand off here's Williams and the result here a pick up of eight leaves him with two to go on second down someone's looking fresh and this old line is definitely looking their chops Everyone likes to run block if you're an offensive lineman nice early burst nice gain too from the 20 here's second down and two a shot shotgun snap for Stafford over the middle in complete to the tight end higgy and higgy going to have a Rams first down as he gets this down to the 13 yd line call it a gain of seven and it gets him a new set of downs that was a route run not just with dexterity but with intelligence found the hole in the zone made sure the quarterback saw him and was able to make the sure catch and flip the down marker back to one on first down it's Stafford over the middle it's complete and this will leave him a yard short nice pickup of nine yds on first down nice Rhythm throw there on first down he located his tight end made it a nice easy pitch and catch hoping he can break a tackle or two wasn't able to do that there but still good yardage from the four this is second down and one off of playaction here's Stafford under a heavy rush and down he goes the hard-hitting safety Jimmy Ward picking up the sack that time these strong safeties some people may not realize it it's really like an extra linebacker right it really is because they're hybrids half linebacker half defensive back the linebacker in him on that play emerged play number nine on the drive coming up and they need nine yds on third down now Stafford screen play set up for Williams and a pretty nice tackle there ranging up from his free safety spot as he'll stop him about a yard short eight yds on the screen there not enough and it'll be fourth down I wonder what was going through mind when he got the play call he just got sacked on the previous play he knows they're coming after him again a little bit of guts to stand in there take the hit and successfully complete the screen pass really well done and no move to get the offense off the field they'll stay put on fourth and one here we go on Fourth Stafford firing quickly here and that's complete and he'll be taken down but he does have first down [Applause] yardage so that one a hold Right Guard and you understand why offensive end defensive linemen probably go to martial arts schools and work on their hands so often because that can be the maker break difference on a play this time he had to grab a jersey in order to make the play happen got caught for the penalty and his kick here is good and the Rams have the first points here it's three [Applause] nothing well both teams kind of feeling each other out here and now after three drives we have a with that field goal yeah they're still waiting for their breakout drive to come to them all right they're using the Playbook well they're looking for that extra section that says touchdowns instead of field goals but they'll take the three for now and try and get set up for more later the kickoff team on the field now as they will send this one away taken at about the one and it's a pretty good return here as he'll get this up to the 29 so now we get set to see Houston for their second Drive of the ball game and they'll certainly be trying to do better than that first drive where they went three and out and sometimes the first drive is just simply to settle nerves you know what it's like at the start of a game with the emotion guys's a little bit jumpy you do oh you you understand the same way just like us calling one right making sure we ease into the game let it come to us well you and now they have that opportunity no you didn't go three and out I went three and out on that first drive I'll try to do better [Applause] here SC now on First and 10 a short one going to be taken in here by Schultz I know sometimes we can get fooled when we watch him make catches as we just saw him do there because he really looks like a wide receiver the way he goes about his business yeah 230 240 range yeah not not super huge maybe not counted on to be that inline point of attack blocker that we used to have in the good old days but you can Flex him out you can run wide receiver routes with him you can make him a primary target and that's how he'll shred a defense and he'll be taken down as that will take us to the end of the first quarter of play three nothing after one on EA [Applause] Sports backto back good plays have them on the move on first down Mixon with a first down carry and he's coralled at the 40 but not before picking up eight good yardage there on first down exactly what you want get yourself set up to keep making first downs keep the clock running and if they're smart you're starting to milk the clock no hurry before you run your second down play ball on the 40 now here's second and a [Applause] couple back to throw here's St he gets the this in the hands of Mixon and he's going to get it down to the 33 yd line here seven yds there and a first down the defense was ready for the back to leak out and even had a second player waiting to double him up if you're going to commit to doubling a back you better prevent a completion but give him credit extra determination extra effort turn it into a successful play first and 10 it's St short throw into the hands of Jordan and he is out of bounds inside the 30 that tight end position it just seems to continue to evolve every year in the NFL yeah you're getting really terrific athletes a lot of them maybe were wide receivers at one point they continue to give you speed great hands and big bodies which make them excellent targets for quarterbacks they go back to the ground now with Mixon and he'll lose yardage here going down back at the 28 it'll go down as a 2yd loss and it brings up a third down part of the thinking when you bring in extra tight ends you're hoping that each of your guys gets those one-on-one blocks and creates a crease for your Runner know what the converse is though you've got to win those one-on-one blocks and when you don't that's the result you end up [Applause] with play number seven now coming up on the drive third and five here's Stout work in the middle of the field and he's got a man complete and this is going to be another first down as the tackle is going to be made at the Rams 16 Texans passing game in Rhythm right now picking up another first and that's well executed there on third down and I love the confidence that they had to let their tight end try and find some space in the middle of the field right in their quarterback's line of vision and QBs love to make that easy throw and they hooked up there for a first down so the ball down to the 16 here for first and 10 strad working out of the gun that's caught again by Schulz a minimal gain there on the eighth play of the drive they gave up the completion there but this is what zone defenses count on catching the ball and not much run after the catch here's a second and eight stad looking to throw he finds his Target it's Schulz and this carry terminated at the8 yd line good stick skills showing the power but just not much room to operate call it a gain of six on the play and it makes it third down and two yds to go Brandon Perfect Defense in this situation would have meant that there was an incompletion they would have picked it off okay so they gave up the completion but I really enjoyed watching how the defense stayed in sync stayed in great communication and as he dragged across each Zone you see him pointing communicating there he is and they passed him off to each Defender ended up making a nice play even though it was complete and in a lot of ways that catch is expected Red Zone presence and that one was realized there you've got to find your tight end in that [Applause] [Music] [Applause] situation Mixon and he is going to lose yardage here it's a loss of a yard there and it's second down defense really sold out there to stop the run understandable down near the goal line now on second down you have to wonder might we see play action here and a flip right over the top back at the two now here's second and [Applause] goal Mixon again and he's going to lose yardage again as he is stuffed behind the line give him a loss of six yards and it brings up third down you can almost feel him thinking as he's running the football just one more block anything to get me to the perimeter and around the corner couldn't quite get there ends up getting spilled for a loss [Applause] and back at the eight now third and [Applause] goal a shotgun sna to St got a man and he hits him in stride and able to break one tackle but then quickly brought down but a nice little gain they wind up with six on the hook up there but it's not enough fourth and goal I thought they might take a shot down the field but instead they ran a little drag route there I think they were hoping he could catch it and run away from the defender but a really good job keeping the play in front of them and they force a fourth down now a former kicker at nearby UCLA Cy Fair bar for the field goal try from the right hash at a bit of a tight angle the kick by fair bearon is good and that will tie us at 33 so three points on the board as easy a field goal as you're going to get but I can see you shaking your head I love that peripheral vision of yours partner because to me if it's the fourth quarter and you're up six I get it but now even if you run and don't get in you're still setting them up to go a long field 98 99 yd Drive how do you look at your defense and not give them that opportunity field goal is all we've had so far 33 now as the kick is [Applause] away and Williams going to sit on this one it'll be a Touchback now the Rams offense getting the football back and a methodical Drive last time but they couldn't get that knockout blow they had to settle for three but you got to like what they've been doing along the way right it's almost like the body blows the setup punch as you said they didn't get the knockout blow here but that doesn't mean it can't come later in the game on another possession and the defense on the other side maybe a little gas right yeah a little tired and if nothing else they just feel relieved getting up field only giving up three they don't exactly feel like they've handled the offense they'll fake it now Stafford he's got his man downfield it's Robinson and he'll take this to the other side of Midfield before going out of bounds a very solid gain of 27 well that certainly has to feel good and it's not all the time that the play caller should get all the credit sometimes I think in the Huddle the quarterback just says hey who's going to make a play for me I just need something right here and the end result there nice first down drive keeps moving this offense finding its legs now here's another first and 10 from the gun it's a run for Williams it's a 6yd gain on the ground and that'll make it second and four second corner two minutes to go tie ball game we remind you that coming up at halime we'll take you to Orlando and Jonathan Coachman coach will have highlights and Analysis of this first half one that's featured no touchdowns as of yet on either side so his job's a little bit easier for this halftime need to give the coach some highlights here yes we do and brought down but able to get it to their 30 yd line 12 yds there as they keep this drive rolling it's another first down as long as you go through your proper reads and progressions the drag route can be one of those Old Reliable plays because usually it's good for a good chunk of yardage as we just saw there and those guys like it right they can get the ball with a full head of steam especially against man coverage cuz man coverage are typically running away from someone and not worried about traffic coming out on the other end now a first down throw Stafford going to be taken in here by NCA and down inside the 15 shy of the 10 another nice gain that's now 30 yds between those last two [Applause] plays from down at the 12 it's first and 10 to throw as Stafford now he'll dump it underneath to his running back complete and he's able to work it here to the8 yd line the Rams going to go ahead and use the first of their timeouts as they'll stop it with just over a minute to go before halftime well offensively that's the mismatch that you want you want to force a linebacker to try and cover your back out of the back field out in some open space but linebackers nowadays they run like backs and they take a lot of pride in covering what a nice play he made there in the open field now Stafford and he's left with no option here but to throw it away I'm really liking what I'm seeing from this defense because their coverage has been playing at a shutdown level so far even backed up late they're forcing incompletions and fighting to keep them out of the end zone as the first half LS down seventh play of the drive UPC coming here on Third and six to the air again Stafford and he's not able to get away sacked back at the 22 now the Texans will burn the first of their timeouts as they get the stoppage with a little over 50 seconds to go in the first half so on fourth down Shawn McVey going to send out the field goal unit he connected on his first this time it's 39 yds away and this one is right through and they will take the lead here in this battle of field goals it's six to [Applause] three so we're trading first half field goals no breakthrough on the touchdown front we got a 63 game yeah I know so many people look at a game through offensive eyes right they want to see how the game's played that way you know how I'm going to view it right the defenses to me have responded well in this game like what I'm seeing from them both of them hoping to keep it to field goals and not give up big touchdowns so all field goals so far 6-3 our score as the kick is away from a yard or two deep here comes a return and UL cannot get this out to the 25 yd line as he's dropped at the 23 the Texans with the football here late in this first half with his slim deficit closing in on the end of the first half we'll see if they can move this at least into field goal range and try to get three out of this drive [Music] [Applause] they'll throw it with st here first and 10 and the Rams got him they bring him down now the Texans will use one of their two remaining timeouts as the clock will stop with 37 seconds to play in this first half that huge loss on the sack makes this job much more difficult it's now second down and 22 yds to go throwing now is Stout looking underneath he's got Acres now the Rams will signal for a timeout their second as they'll stop it with a little over 30 seconds to go in the first half of play the Rams calling on their nickel set here defensively for third down this time they stay on the ground so instead of giving them another third down they'll decline it brings up four now that's smart football right there you don't even have to really spend a lot of time considering it just know that you're probably going to get the ball back good job declining that penalty the Texans send the punter out as he'll kick it away for the second time so possession goes over here on the punt and the Rams will go on offense here with a first and 10 the Rams about to go on offense one final time in this first half and with time quickly fading here in the second quarter not sure how aggressively offensively they want to play this I think we'll find out just how much they trust their guys in this situation if they decide to take a shot a little over 20 seconds remaining in the half as they'll line up here first and 10 now it's Stafford and that is incomplete 16 seconds now on the clock right up to that point I was about to say he's had a pretty good half catch in the football but let's just be honest about it he should have caught that one and he knows that that was one right in his bread basket and one he normally catches now a second and 10 we not wanting to take a chance this time they'll keep it on the ground and he'll push forward here for a good little run as the clock continues to run the Rams going to be forced to use their third and final timeout as they'll stop the clock with 12 seconds to go in this first half here is third and [Music] five they stay on the ground this time it's Williams and good Vision there as he's across Midfield and down to the 45 yd line a good pickup but it will come on what should be the final play in this first half so if you like field goals this is your game 6-3 welcome everyone to downtown Orlando and our EA Sports halim report this one's been as good as advertised just a field goal separating these two teams as they've already made their way back out of the locker room so to bring you the story of the second half let's get you right back out to Brandon God okay Coach yeah adjustments likely going to play a big role in this third quarter in what's been a tight contest so far [Applause] [Applause] the Texans down on the scoreboard but they do get the first crack here as we are back underway in the second half and they'll start this drive just across the 30 pretty nice work on the return so here's the Texans offense now they get set to start this third quarter Charles it'll be interesting to see what adjustments this offense made in the locker room haven't really been able to get anything going offensively virtually nothing in the ground attack either so certainly something has to change here in quarter three and I'm pretty sure their friends from the defensive side of the ball told them exactly that because those guys the stop troops they've been playing pretty well and they've kept them around in this game now they got some time the running game struggled in the first half position knows how to focus on defending the pass here they've got to re-energize that ground game and maybe open things up for a comeback here in this half give him a couple on the carry there second and eight oh that's a real nice job there by the defensive front they just engaged and held their ground but how about the guy who made the play we often talk about whether they take a good first step or not many times you just don't take any step just get your feet moving get your body going and then once he made the read he was able to make the play st's throw taken in by Diggs and pass the 40 before he's out of bounds that his first catch so far they've held him under wraps but he's got a first down there now how about this throw right here had to throw it to the left sideline and you know the timing's got to be correct on this one Ball's got to be right where it needs to be and it was that's because he had great arm strength on that one able to drive the football quarterbacks love it when they can show off their arms so the completion good for six yards and it's second down just about every quarterback is trained to really look downfield first before you come back and make a nice safe throw and in this case that's exactly what he did found his running back let him create some space and it turned out to be a nice play for the offense slotman moves right on second down here's Pierce and he's going to take this one across Midfield and into RAM territory a threey pick up on second and four now they'll need to convert here on Third and a little more than a yard that's some good tackling there to keep him short of that yellow line yeah and defensively all I'm thinking is that on that play get me to third down get me into a position where I can make one more play and get my defense off the field here now third and a [Applause] yard a hand off here to Ogen ball and boy he is very close to a first down but from where they're spotting that football he's going to be a foot or so short they tried their best to pick up that third and one but their surge wasn't enough to counteract what came back at him from the defensive side was it offensive line especially in the middle looked like they were on skates a little bit when that one started so now we bring up fourth and inches this would be a critical call [Applause] the Texans send the punter out as he's on to kick it away only 29 yds on the punt there definitely not as best and the offense will come back out deep in their own territory now the attention turns back to the Rams offense as they get ready for their first possession of the second half Stafford and the Rams come up first and 10 at their own 14 yd line they'll try and start this drive in the air and this nearly an interception but it's incomplete well a turnover really would have helped him there but not to be that's certainly appeared to be a play call where they were just trying to make second down second and short I think they thought the coverage was off a little bit more than it was nice job there pressing up on it and forcing the incompletion second and 10 Stafford again and he works it across the 25 before being tackled a gain there of 12 yds and a first down LA and that's a more than acceptable read right there because it's Zone coverage so timing is everything this time he waits for his man to come open puts it right on him and they pick up a first down on first down Stafford here that's complete to his tight end higgy and he takes this up to the 40 yd line before being coralled back to- back nice gains that one for 14 15 yards and another first well that's always a good place to throw it just because he's one of the biggest targets not only on this team but in the National Football League and you and I both know the quarterbacks love these large body tight ends and why not nowadays they're really wide receivers who are just taller and have a little bit more weight these guys catch the football make big plays down field in the old days we wanted them to block now coaches want to catch the football first another strong gain on the last two plays they've moved it a combin 33 yds they're making it look easy out there another first down so so far on this drive let me do this a little bit of math here four plays three first downs that's pretty good recipe for Success so a first and 10 now in Houston territory at the 41 they run off tackle right with Williams oh he sheds himself free and he's got this down almost to the 20 before he's dropped 72 yds for him on the ground now as he has been terrific here this afternoon a good run there off right tackle in an old school NFL football the right side of the offensive line often known as the nasty side the left side usually the technical side kind of reminds me of the old Atlanta Falcons 20092 10 that's how they constructed their offensive [Applause] line now it's Stafford off the boot leg this is caught a good pick up there of 22 just picking up yardage in bunches here these last few plays they have moved right down the field and just like that they're going be set up with a first and goal might we see our first touchdown of the game here's first and goal Williams and that'll hurt the average a bit as this time they're able to get him behind the line that's going to go as a loss of two and it'll be second down that's a really alert defense there because they saw the heavy look come in from the offense countered it with extra linebackers who brought a little bit of speed and heft and able to really make a big time play for their defense three Red Zone trips have yielded just two field goals for them to this point so they'll be searching for something more on second and goal here now a battle for the football it's caught it's a touchdown Davis Allen a two- yd touchdown grab and the Rams are able to widen their advantage this is where as a tight end you've got to really sell that this is a run they're going to fake the give hope the linebackers bite and here they do just enough that Split Second that's all it takes for that tight end to leak out into the end zone touchdown extra point attempt to come [Applause] here and it's up and good to make the score 13- three so that drive goes eight plays and the result for the Rams a touchdown [Applause] the Rams kickoff team on the field and here we go with a ball in the air this taken in at the goal line and a good return as he'll be stopped just shy of the 30 yd line and the Texans set to come onto the field they're in a 13-3 hole here now as they come up on first down [Applause] they'll start on the ground with Pierce a short gain here maybe a yard to the 29 they'd love to just strike back with a touchdown right here and if it's a long play so be it but the main goal get a couple of first downs run some plays run some clock allow their defense to get a chance to catch their breath settle down and relax a little bit after they just gave up a score here's a second and nine now from the 29 St to throw it looking for his man on the out route and he's got Diggs and he goes out right around the 39 that'll be a pick up of 10 as they try to recover from this 10-point deficit and that's one of the better plays we've seen this offense put together so far they haven't been able to get on track much at all but listen they're only down a couple of scores with the rest of this quarter and the entire fourth remaining so stranger things have happened flushed out right it won't be a sack but it's no gain and it brings up second down he certainly did his best to find something on that run but there just wasn't enough time to make it happen nice effort there avoiding the sack and getting back to the line of scrimmage that one certainly could have ended up worse second and 10 thanks for tagging along with us here from Houston Texas St out of the gun here got his Man Down it'll go down as a gain of six and now we've got a third and four one thing hoping for when you run drag routes you're able to hit a receiver in stride and he can pick up a lot of yardage after the catch but in this situation the defense was effective able to stop him before he could get a good head of steam going this offense in desperate need of a conversion as they come up on third down he's got his Target that's complete and this is going to be another first down as the tackle is going to be made at the Rams 42 12 yds that time for number 12 as they move the chains that's a play that'll likely be forgotten when you talk about big moments in this game but plays like this are critical to keep drives going and if points result we'll call this play significant still in search of their first touchdown of the game but they're on the Move first and 10 first and 10 it's Pierce and they went the Long Way There losing yardage back at the 43 yd line he'll lose a yard there and it's second and [Applause] 11 come on and as they come to the line they will not be able to get off another play as time has run out on this third quarter we'll return with more after this this is the NFL and it's on EA [Applause] Sports second and 11 stoud and the Rams got him they bring him down Bobby Brown able to drop him for a loss of four from his defensive tackle spot and you hate to say it with a rookie quarterback he's done some good things but overall looked a little bit overwhelmed back there hasn't he he certainly has but in his defense he hadn't had a lot of time to throw the football you like the way I said that in his defense in his defense I got it you see what I did there yeah he needs better protection that's for sure [Applause] thirdd and 15 here after the first and second down plays went in the wrong direction operating from the gun St a short one going to be taken in here by Schulz and a good job on the tackle there as they get him down shy of the first on the 35 yd strike it'll be a gain of 12 but it will also lead to fourth down he wasn't the primary target but I think it was almost like a a check down situation wasn't it yeah Hing he can break some tackles a big tight end but he couldn't do it yeah get it to that big frame and hope he can scatter some bodies unable to get it done so a big one coming here for kyy faar it'll be spotted on the right Hash a 52 yd attempt Fair bear able to put this one through and they will cut the lead back down to a touchdown now at 13- six all right so they needed two scores to get back in the game the field goal there maybe not exactly what they wanted but the necessary First Step there's still time remaining and there's enough time to get it done they've got to get at the least a three and out epitome of what we call the move tight end a guy that you can line up anywhere in the slot out wide in tight doesn't really matter because he has such great skills you want to utilize him in all aspects of your passing offense there he was in the slot for the catch Stafford on first down that'll be caught it's cup and they'll wind up getting this one all the way down inside the 20 23 yds the final tally these guys are running offense like you drive the pedal is down stomp down how about that backto back completions they are rolling so much for being conservative and running that football so from the 17 now here's a first and 10 they'll fake it on the Jet Sweep and instead a hand off up the middle and he's heaten up at the line of scrimmage might have gotten a yard down to the 16 boy tight game like this fourth quarter personal foul penalties a no no yeah we know the emotions are running High the tensions are the same who can control them best could ultimately win [Applause] it so now after the face mask penalty here's first and goal Stafford and this nearly an interception but it's incomplete or a turnover really would have helped him there but not to be I think he's taking an awful chance with the football right there you've got a lead you've got to protect it and he's taken chances putting it out there in a little bit of Jeopardy especially in a spot like this fourth quarter as you said trying to cling to that Advantage yeah that one probably should have been picked huh a quick throw there there is incomplete great coverage there all around really didn't have many options to throw the football very little chance that that one was going to be completed every receiver was locked up a lot of tired bodies on that field but this is a big play Third and goal again it's Stafford they'll wind up losing a full 10 yards on the play and that'll bring up fourth down so on fourth down out trots the kicker in a big spot here this to make it a two-score game and his kick is good and that one makes this a 10-point game it's 16 to [Applause] six so that's CD an important one here in the fourth quarter and that importance cannot be overstated all eyes on both Sid lines were staring that one down all the way the significance is that they made it a two-score game still lots of time left to go but likely that was their goal the start of the drive get three points make it a two-score game and they were able to get it done set now to kick this one away and off it goes and the tackle going to be made right there at the 25 yd line and now out comes Houston and the complexion of this one has changed a fair amount that last field goal made it a two-score game so they need to get points out of this drive relatively quickly [Applause] ready [Applause] ready St to the air on First and 10 that's out to the flat for acres and this will be a gain of five as he gets it to the 30 this possession means so much for them they've got to focus on this drive and find a way to make this a one possession game got to get a score yeah so good with a field goal don't necessarily need a touchdown ball on the 30 they'll come up with a second and five as stoud now to throw Acres backto back catches and he'll be taken down but not before they work it across Midfield good work after the catch going to net him 23 and a first a great job there and that old cliche taking where the defense gives you comes right into play nothing too out theordinary about the throw just a little dump off over the middle but what is out of the ordinary is what he did with it after the catch not only did he grabbed the ball but how about the significant yardage he picked up after he pulled it in so from Rams territory now it's first and 10 at the 47 now St and this is intercepted and that should do it travius white with a pick down the left left sideline and he will bring it back it's an interception returned for a Rams touchdown and that pick six that was the first turnover forced by the defense in this ball game CD and what's even betters when they finally forced one they kept the effort up and were able to return it for a score they could hear their defensive coaches saying to them hey getting the interceptions great can you do more with it turn it into a big play and they did exactly that no going for two they'll kick the point [Applause] after and that'll make this a three-score game as the lead moves to 17 a heck of a play there defensively getting the interception navigating his way into the end zone for the touchdown so they throw the pick six they'll get another shot at it now as this one's in the air this taken in right around the goal line and he'll get it up past the 20 to about the [Applause] 22 heading out as the Texans offense as they get set to take over here and remember they were just out here a moment ago through the pick six so we'll see if they can take better care of the football this go round and sometimes partner I think it's almost better that you you just throw the pick six and you come right back out on the field you're not over on the sidelines dwelling for it for very long you're not hearing everyone say hey you'll get them next time hey don't worry about it all that stuff just goes right out the window you're right back out on the field with a chance to atone St coming right back after the pick six it's complete to Diggs and he gets this up just shy of the 30 to the 29 before he's out of bounds decent start to the drive but let's face it they need a lot of things to go right in a short amount of time down three scores yeah they're going to run their two-minute offense here in this game but this is for future games can they get better and be ready for the next time hopefully with a chance to win and there's a completion to the tight end and look at the size of these players nowadays at that spot 6'4 65 and up a lot of guys used to be basketball players somehow came back to football and that's really good for the game of football you're getting better athleticism great hand ey coordination guys who know how to control their bodies when they run their routes and this is going to be another first down as a tackle is going to be made at the Rams 28 Texans passing game in Rhythm right now picking up another first those are the types of plays they probably wish they had made more of in the first three quarters and this deficit going to be tough to overcome here in the fourth but a nice first down and a pickup on that throw yeah and this is where as coaches you're looking for effort and execution even though the scoreboard is going against you you want to find out who's going to fight who's going to scrap who's going to keep their heads up and continue to play now the Tex will burn the first of their timeouts as they'll stop it with a little over 30 ticks to go in the football [Applause] game so second and four from the [Applause] 22 they'll go play action here with st and it's in complete took a shot couldn't connect even with such a big lead late the effort hasn't lapsed one bit if the offense wants to score some points in this one they're going to have to earn it these this game no exception they didn't turn the ball over at all and they go on to Victory they look like a smooth operation in this one didn't they because you look at every facet of the game they handled their business offense took care of the football converted it into points defense took the ball away gave it back to the offense special teams right there with them that's the type of game a coach is going to really love and value and when they show the film they have to be careful not to give out too many Kudos and kill their motivation going forward so that'll just about do it for
