UAB Blazers vs UL Monroe - EPIC College Football Game on PS5

welcome to Monroe Louisiana Malone Stadium home to the ULM warhawks and fans have been getting ready for this one pretty much all week there's just something about the night cap after a day of wall toall football it just seems this is when chaos ensues as we'll see a squad from the AAC the UAV Blazer taking on a team from the Sun Belt the UL Monroe warhawks for EA Sports college football I'm ree Davis joined here in the booth as always by David Pollock and Jesse Palmer guys let's tee this one up the Blazers will kick it away to start and he takes this from inside the five really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the n the warhawks offense will get the first crack at it here here he comes and obviously a defense that's always going to be aware of a quarterback but boy he finds a way to put defenses on their heels all the time David I mean what can't he do he's got the weapons he's got the confidence he's got the experience Jesse these kind of guys are so hard to defend you're right they better be able to find a way to get pressure on him cuz if they don't this is going to be a long day he's Dr drop behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three third down and they'll need five to keep this opening drive moving looking for a man it's Harry how frustrating is that you're that running back and the quarterback goes down at the 11 yd line and that is how you silence this rockus crowd defensively on the road first drive of the game setting the tone getting a huge sack on third down the warhawks will punt this one away three and out they got stuck in Reverse they hope the punt can bail them out he'll signal for and make the fair catch right around Midfield so the UAB Blazers offense headed onto the field our first look at them today here are our impact players for this game and it goes beyond executing an assignment to make an impact in the game yeah obviously we were talking to both coaching staffs this week and we asked them who needs to step up and play while they immediately pointed to these guys right here they are the key for their respective teams yeah and they don't always show up in the Box Score but these are the guys of the leaders these are the guys getting everybody organized and have to play well for their team to [Applause] succeed let's see if the offenses can find a little rhythm as we start the second quarter kept it on the ground on first down now back to the line he wants to pass it on second down pulls it in it's Thomas the offense will have to use its first timeout of the half they have a first down at the 41 yd line he's going to pass fires to the tight end nice quick throw there and it's so important for quarterbacks to be able to find a rhythm and to be comfortable and confident you want to just get the ball out quickly make it an accur an easy throw and you can tell that these two guys they rep that got it and he ran away from the defense to take it in touchdown UAB man I just love the execution by this offense late in the half man you want to take the lead you want to get that momentum on your side and they do it they finish it with the passing game and I tell you what heat that passing game up you can keep this lead keep the momentum and keep putting up numbers lining up to Attack One More onto that [Applause] lead and with the extra point they get the first seven of the game quick work on that scoring drive just four plays and they finish things off with a scoring toss from the 33 he'll start the return inside his five couldn't find a way to create that broken field as he stopped at the 25 guys we'll see what this war hawk offense can get done this time so late in the half this is really an opportunity David maybe to swing the momentum in their favor dang right there's no time to be conservative we're a little bit down listen I just think this is a point with the offense that they can prove like we're here we're going to create something now that we can build on in the second half coach said all week he wanted to be aggressive this is a great opportunity to show that right now at the end of the first half try and generate some momentum score some points before going into half time and now on second down for this offense looking downfield it's Harry it's complete on the right side he's run out of bounds but not before turning in a big pickup and moving the sticks for a first down looking to move it through the air using the quick game that's about as close as you can get to that marker and it will be second and just a few breaths away from the first down running out of time here in the first half they're going to have to be efficient to put some points on the board before the break grab near the marker it's Hill he steps out of bounds but he's got enough for a first [Applause] down he wants to throw fires to the wide out and it's picked off and he's wrapped up after a solid return on the pick and that's the advantage right there of having your dime Personnel on the field you got an extra DB you got an extra guy out there who's really good at covering so for quarterbacks you got to be so good and precise with these passes because they've got speed in the back end they're able to come away with the pick so the offense has had enough they'll take a knee and wrap up this first half as expected they're content to run out the clock and go into halftime we played two quarters here time to go to Kevin Connors in our halftime update fellas you've had yourselves one great broadcast so far today there in Monroe and it's been said football is a game of inches and guess what based on the comparison between third down conversion rate today and the average yard per play how can you argue that I mean the low-lying fruit is to look at some of the explosive plays we've seen in panic but really this game is going to come down to which team is more efficient when they have the ball and how they play when it matters most and just like that let's head back to our team inside Malone stadium and the warhawks will boot it away to start the second half on the move from inside is five good job by the coverage unit to stop the Return Man UAB regains possession of the Blazer offense back onto the field off the play fake on first down wants to throw caught over the middle it's Thomas quick timeout by the defense there trying to make sure everyone has the same call they created a lot of breathing room with that first play of the drive now first down from the 39 able to scr three yards out of that one somehow it's second and seven the defense uses their second timeout of the half as they try to get their act together they'll r the running back and leave it with him the defense going to stop the clock with the timeout they want to make sure they have everybody on the same page and now on third down after that last run to throw it's Zeno got his man quickly a quick tackle made but he's got plenty for the first down and the Blazers have this offense rolling out of the gun the running back has it shotgun fundamentals are so key he was like a short stop hot shotgun snap and right away rifled it out of his hands like he was turning two that was beautiful and he has a solid gain before the defense bottles him up a third and long coming up here the play action fake unloads to the wide out wide open downfield gets enough for the first down but not sure they'll get another playoff here in in the third quarter the quarter comes to a close and UAB is on top three quarters are in the books time becomes a factor both in trying to hold the lead or cut into it as we take a look at the stats so with the late lead they're ready to just drain the clock in Victory formation looks
