before the season starts so uh Jackson gonna do a little talk about the uh roster as uh they have released the updated weight and Heights of the players and there's been some changes since last time it was updated so kind of interesting I'm sure people saw it today all over uh so social media about the the weights being out I I wondered too Jackson if this was also you know you have college football being released uh EA Sports and uh so I wonder how that affected him but anyway some things that stood out to you first off I want to say one thing we're gonna kind of talk about some players here but and we're g to spend most of our time in the trenches because I think when you're looking at weights and where guys have gained weight I think a lot of people go straight to the trenches because we've talked about it all off season that's a lot of times where in ATC specifically you're going to win or lose games so uh Jackson just kind of what stood out to you on on the weights updated weights yeah whenever you talk about the weights Jason you said it we need to talk about the trenches and I think the perfect spot to start is the interior of the defensive line obviously going into the SEC next year it's going to be so crucial you need to have a defensive line that weightwise has multiple guys over 300 pounds in Oaklahoma now I believe it is three guys over 300 pounds in Dominic Williams who is 319 dejon Terry who is at 323 and Jaden Jackson who's at 300 exactly and then you have David Stone who's 294 295 you have Devon Sears who's 295 Grayson hton finally starting to add some weight he's up to 291 right now Jason so you just talk about a defensive line room and these guys are adding weight now I know the majority of SEC teams you know you want to say you want to have six seven to eight defensive lineman over 300 pounds Oklahoma right now they only have three on the interior so I think it'll be interesting to see how Weight Wise they can compete right there and then you also have Nigel Smith and some of these other freshmen that continue just to add weight as well yeah and I think what's to note there I mean n just missed a guy I think got 12 pounds so he's putting on some good weight and you mentioned David Stone uh also Ashton Sanders I mean those guys have put on double digit and weight and the thing is David Stone is so new to the program and he's had one off season with schmidti and look what they look what they've done there look what he's done uh that's impressive to be almost 300 pounds at 294 already I I think bodess very well for David Stone uh and you mentioned Jaden Jackson at 300 guys yeah David Stone and Jaden Jackson they're incoming freshman 294 300 that's where they're at that that that is very good for Oklahoma also you mentioned it uh when you talked about dejon Terry and Dominique Williams I think a lot of people probably think those two are going to be the Bell cows here in the middle uh and looking at their weight and kind of what they can do in the middle I think you know we've talked about off season the opportunity the chances of playing three down linemen I think when you have guys like that then you can do that you you there's you can be a lot more multiple on the defense if you can go three down linemen uh especially with what Oklahoma has in the in the defensive back field and who they're wanting to play uh another you know let's switch over to the offensive line a little bit Jackson there's one name there's one name that just in fact it blew me away when I saw the weight yeah you know I'm say go for it you know who I'm gonna say Fetti weu man 339 pounds yeah up 13 uh that that's a big guard uh and you you know another one Eugene Brooks 336 336 so uh and you know there's a lot of players there on the offensive line and when you look at them just looking at where they were before this update all of them look like they're putting on good way I think it's exciting but specifically fi I think faet is a guy a lot of people thought man that's a good pickup out of the portal but how good is it I I think he is going to be unbelievable this year I think he's going to be the rock of that offensive line I really do yeah and something along the offensive line to me that stands out is Jacob seon right now he's 322 up five pounds this off season with Jacob seon you know he last year I mean and B Camp there's a lot of talk that he was going to be the starting tackle next to Tyler gon last year before he got hurt last year and uh I believe he TS ACL so it was just super awful what happened but you talk about a guy that has a wrestling background that's super athletic Jacob seon I mean at 322 pounds 323 pounds that is an offensive lineman I think I'd be super intimidated to face if you're an SEC Defensive end because Jason I would not be shocked by the end of this year if J if Jacob seon has talks about being in top two or three rounds in the NFL draft we'll see I mean Bill beo has done that before with those guys so we'll see I you know another position group here's the thing we can go through all these position groups and yeah almost every player you can look at say they gained some weight and if they didn't then maybe they were either trying to slim it down or uh maybe they're not work working you know it's not working for them I don't know but I think we you can sometimes overthink it when you look at weights because everybody if that's what your goal is to put on six to 10 pounds whatever it is I think you know you need to be putting on six 10 because that's what Schmid's there for I will say this though that is also because we are in the offseason everybody is so freaking amped up for football and so we could overthink overanalyze every little weight of every little player uh but the linebacker core is another group that uh looks to be beefing up and uh looks to be kind of uh ready for the season I mean Kip again up almost 10 pounds 241 uh monster out there and this one I I want to transition because I'm getting ready to say name and you're going to mention this guy too but I want to kind of go with who do you think out of Team wise offense defense whatever maybe one guy that maybe people are sleeping on that might have a big impact this year more impact than people think the reason I bring it up is you got Sam Samy omo uh up to 236 there at linebacker chances Jackson that he makes impact this year yeah I think Samuel iGo you know Jason you've said it up to 236 now clearly I don't know but he's become Oklahoma Sooner fan favorite on the Tik Tok World Jason uh really bringing a lot of entertainment through that and you can tell someone over this last year year and a half that has definitely embraced the Schmitty bill that dude has completely transformed his body transformed himself uh he's someone Jason that last year we saw get on the field at certain times in very limited roles I I think it might have been the Cincinnati game the first game in conference play where he even got some reps in at cheetah at certain points during the game as a freshman last year so he's someone that I think alongside Lewis Carter those are two guys Jason that I think you know at linebacker that we can see make an very big impact this year and that linebacker room as you said it's gonna be super hard for anyone to get on the field just due to the fact how much talent is in that room right now and that probably that or the safety room are the two strengths of the team right now Jason yeah you know one guy I think might be maybe uh people may be sleeping on uh would be jacobe Johnson defensive back I just think he's got the size he's got the uh athletic ability to go in there and make an impact I just think it's going to depend on the opportunity he gets and when he gets in there how much he makes in that opportunity I think you're GNA have a lot of guys play early and if you can make an impact and make plays uh you're going to stick around and make be playing more so I think uh the first few games you're going to see a lot of guys play and it's time to make your mark you know so we'll see also interesting you know when you go back to Taylor Tatum I think he's up to 210 or 205 205 something like that uh I'm I'm not looking at it in front of me but I was interested to see what Danny AO ended up at but I'll have to look at that when we get off here I don't have it in front of me there's another player too that we didn't say and adab bore he's up to over 250 now Jason so yeah on yeah I saw his name he put on quite a bit so that's good and I think Denny KO is kind of similar to him as far as uh frame wise a little bit uh but we all know Danny koi in high school was a weight room freak I mean so I I don't have any I'm sure he's where he wants to be let's just say that a CO in high school I mean he was deadlifting six 700 pounds yeah so that's all you need know about the kid yeah so uh there you have it guys uh just kind of a roster uh little up on some weights there just to kind of get your uh get your appetite little ready for Oklahoma football because hey SEC media
