what is up sooner Nation uh let let me just open up Jay with I think what needs to be be said and and that's this obviously uh a sad deal what happened tonight this is not the place where we're going to talk about it if you want to talk about it I guess find a different channel of someone who's going to talk about it I am not saying that to downplay it by any means I'm just saying this is not as well I mean uh this isn't a political Channel this is a sports channel uh like Jeremy said so let's talk sports baby uh football is getting closer and closer uh you had the roster updated at Oklahoma today with the new weights uh and I I did a video earlier Jeremy we were talking about it and I think it's funny I think there's some overreaction to the weights in in one part because I think if if these players don't gain weight and get their goal then it's like well what are they doing because that's Schmid's goal is to get these guys where they want to be so I think we can overanalyze it a little bit but I do think there are some numbers to look at overall when you look at defensive line and offensive line that's where it's one or loss in the trenches and uh you look at defensive line just some real good numbers there I think Weight Wise uh specifically 319 uh Dominique Williams 325 believe dejon Terry and then 300 pounds Jaden Jackson I thought it was interesting you know David stones at 294 he's up 11 or 12 pounds I think so looking at Jaden Jackson and David Stone as freshman they're both almost one's 300 one's almost I get that boods really well for o Clum and then one guy I gotta mention offensively offensive line Fetti wayu 339 uh up 13 pounds I I think Fai wayu is probably one of the most gon to end up being one of the most underrated portal gets maybe in the SEC I think he's Zach good of an offensive lineman I think he's going to be that good for Oklahoma now for Oklahoma I think for sure he's going to be the best portal guy do you not I mean you can say Burks if you want but I just think he's gonna be mean so much to that offensive line I I think Fetti uh is going to be a huge uh great expectation of of this season because I I know people were high on him when he came in Jay now you look at that weight that's gone up he's got got a veteran he's played so there's that I think he's going to be uh maybe the best piece on the offensive line and that's actually saying a lot because I think BR you know Hickman is really good too played a ton of games this offensive line Jay what I'm saying is may be better than what a lot of people thought and hey Kobe McKenzie 241 241 he's a guy that Jay could push up and get on the edge some yeah I thought it was interesting when you look at the overall the linebackers another guy samel Migo uh I I think he was up like was it nine or 13 but he was up quite a bit so um I just it's so hard to know defensively right now what they're GNA do we talked about it a few nights ago I I think they got multiple guys at multiple positions is going to be where they going to do rotation wise to get all these guys some action we'll see yeah Monty this is a whole another topic we can talk about it's very interesting uh Jeremy have not talked to you at all today I know you were so busy I talked to Hunter and Jackson a little bit about this and then a little bit on the Discord personally this is my opinion I'm not an Insider I don't know anything this is my opinion I think this pretty much says that caned is not going to be at Oklahoma that's my opinion I know a lot of people out there even though you people think well they're gonna still get canedy maybe I just don't see it happening my opinion uh I have been busy today Jay doing a a lot of yard work at dads uh and doing some other things I've been busy and I'm actually disagreeing with you I don't think Sam Landry coming to OU has any bearing at all on what go ahead yeah I'm sorry I just gotta ask you a question about that real quick and then you can finish but listen before you finish because I forgot to say it before but if they knew they were getting cannedy would they have signed got Sam Landry if six is the magic number Jay Jay they had six last year uh with you could argue two Aces but at least one ace uh so I'm just saying for for for people to say ced's not coming for sure I don't think that's accurate easy either will she I I don't know yeah this is interesting Charlie go look at her numbers she's a really dang good pict good she's really good and she's experienced I think it's in fact it and I don't think they're going to land Kennedy um I think Landry very well has a possibility of being the Ace of the staff I mean right now I think the the ace is kirston deal but I don't know it could be Jay I know I love I kirston deal I think is amazing I think she's gonna be really good I just think look at experience between uh Sam Landry and Bella Smith so look I do think that obviously if Kennedy doesn't come here there's a lot of people who want to see U Win without her anyway uh so we could see and Jay I want to talk about what uh I believe someone said in the chat about the o line and you know the three guys that plugged in last year McCade Mat toyer made significant improvements from his first year to ow you to his second that's kind of G to be interesting to see H how these guys can play their first year and I know what John is talking about a lot of rumors of her going back to Stanford and maybe she does Jay yeah Nolan thanks for joining tonight you're right very TI tied of Highly tied of a high school Landry was and on a good travel brawl program she's a really good pitcher I mean 2.12 career ER that's good last year 24- 10 record I mean that's a really good performance you know for a season so I think they're getting a good one and I think you're probably going to roll into the season with these five and see what happens now we'll see if something happens with kedy I'm just I don't think it's going to happen personally um what else was I GNA bring up tonight there was something else Jeremy I was going to bring up I I mean do you think maybe the weight stuff is overanalyzed a little bit does what about you guys in the chat do you think it's looked at is it because we're so ready for sneaking football I think that's part of it I never goingon to say it's look I mean most things in July for U football are are embellished a little bit and talked about too much just because there's not a lot to talk about but I will say why I don't think it's really too much overanalyzed is the fact that to be SEC ready Jay there's been the talk that U's got to get bigger and they have I looked at the o line chart Jay measurements I mean they're three 300 Pounders all over the place and on the D line so and Zach I agree I think for the line it's huge I do think that but I what I mean by overanalyze is I think how many of us on here I think a lot of people thought well off season I hope they I mean I think you expect that to happen with Schmitty right I think it matters Big Time John I think it's huge I think it very much matters hey J I think personally I think with Schmitty there that's kind of what I expected and I just think and now we're seeing it I think we're all like yes this is awesome because it is awesome I mean two guys specifically Dominique Williams and and Terry at 320 or above I think is huge when was the last time that happened two possible starters at that size I was just getting ready to ask you when was the last time you had a 323 pounder and 319 pounder I don't know that they've ever had that start they can start I don't know if they've ever had that on the dline Jay well they're getting bigger I I think that bod bodess well uh and Zach I agree with this comment too thanks Zach it's a good comment the wide receiver we I think any if you hear EMT Jones talk if you watch the way he coaches he wants to be a very physical unit and to be physical you also got to be strong you got to put some muscle on so I think they're doing that and be in the pudding you're right was there a weight that stood out to you on the wide receiver room I don't have it in front of me nothing crazy I mean I I think look at Deon B you know that he's uh a weight room guy I mean he's he's built very well there was a weight there was a weight that stood out to me and it wasn't the receiver room it was Taylor Tatum at 205 yeah I some people on here I think what maybe a few weeks ago we're thinking that Taylor Tatum will play some this year I what do you think Jeremy Jay he's 205 I I think physically he's probably ready uh it just depend depend on probably how he looks I hope he gets a chance at kickoff return for sure right around the corner Bobby Bobby is Tatum going to play running back a lot or do you think it's GNA be mainly on special teams return game I'm leaning toward kickoff return so running back wise who do you think who do you think he Jay if he plays running back I know Jimmy says running Jimmy saying he's gonna play Bobby says then then who's not playing does that mean Caleb Hicks isn't playing does that mean samel Franklin's not playing for first off you got to clarify something when you say play does that mean uh are you talking about playing an immediate like impact moments or you just talking about at the end of a game I I don't know that's why I'm asking them I think he'll play I think he's gonna play there's gonna third and fourth quarters he come in and get a lot of action I think but will he play when it gets into the SEC action or I am very interested to see what Seth L Trail does because I do think that was one problem that I think that Jeff leby had a big issue on and that was Jeremy in the in the two seasons he was there who do you think the best running back was two seasons he was there who was the best running back under Jeff Le I mean that's arguable Jay well I I what do in your opinion who do you think it was saluk was the best last year yeah but what I what I'm trying to get to is this Jeff leby could never get a r like stick to a running back and give him the ball beat him you can't say Jeff leby though why can't I because it came out last year that DeMarco Murray was this is the one problem I have about DeMarco Murray everyone wants to talk about DeMarco Murray how great of recruit he is I get it everyone wants to say this guy could be ready to call his own offense whatever his Personnel decisions and they were his he decided that Jay and we're kind of we're kind of getting it here I think this is kind of my point is we've had gray I think a lot of gray gray two years ago was the best back but last year last year Walker looked really good at times you have Sala Barnes was injured I get it but it seems like they can never be like okay this is the guy we want in the third or fourth quarter give it to and they're going to get the ball 20 times this game and and they're the running rb1 I mean even going into this year I mean rb1 is who I think it's got to be Sal right so if he's rb1 I still feel like people are talking about other guys it's like if he's rb1 let's go with rb1 hey and Monty says hit the freaking like for Lori that's right Monty please do it hey Jay uh we we were just talking about running backs and uh DeMarco Murray and all the backs that they're having we don't know yet if they're going to play two backs we don't know if they're going to use two back sets these are things kind of up in the air that changes things if they're going to throw out a two back set 30% of the time 15% of the time yeah I it means a lot uh it's going to change how they approach that so I think that's something to take notice of early on is seeing if that's gonna happen yeah great God good point that's the name we didn't mention earlier PJs put it on uh I think he's up 11 or 12 pounds uh should be should vode well for him for sure um the other thing uh you were just mentioning it oh with set with Trail offensively do you think they will slow it down more this year we've said this it seems like time and time again for one here here's what I think is going to be interesting on the rule change Jay defenses are and same with offenses once 15 seconds is on the play clock uh it's going to be uh no communication to the helmets that doesn't mean anything though let me finish does that favor the offense or defense it you see what I'm saying here may maybe some no you don't okay I don't see what that's has to do with slowing it down or not well maybe you want maybe you want to make it more difficult on the defense so you're GNA wait till maybe 15 or less I think we may be overthinking the communication thing because I'm wondering they've done it with no communication forever so I'll tell you what I'll tell you what I mean Jay in the communication on the helmet let's just say Seth Latrell says all right when the play clock gets to 13 I want you to audible to this play and get the defense off guard if the defense already set up what's that to do with anything it has to do with a lot Jay audible whenever you want any other year it's not that big of a deal I think it's over talked about okay we'll see what the communication think communication is great for whoever's talking at the quarterback but I also think all the other players will also be looking at Sidelines for a call I I just well yeah the receiver coach to be giving them Jay I'm talking about defensive the defensive middle linebacker who who's wearing the helmet yeah I I don't know we we'll see uh and and this is true I think this is a good point Zach on the road environment uh that that may be more it might be a big deal I just I don't know if it's maybe over talked about or not I don't know uh I think they're talking about good for a Young quarterback and also people are saying maybe if you slow it down for a Young quarterback too that might be good I mean the thing that drove me the biggest it was so drove me nuts and crazy is when they would hurry up there and you felt like well they just kind of wasted a play because they were trying to get a quick playoff I I hated that uh Damon I don't think Xavier Robinson is gonna get much PT this year that's just my personal opinion especially if there is no HB I don't know if you're going to see much of him Jay there are two guys I want to see this year uh and see what they do it's those who are four four mentioned earlier towi Walker with Wisconsin and marus major with Minnesota we'll see I hope major I want to see major I just hope he can stay healthy I really do hey Bobby here's how I would rank the running backs rb1 Sawchuk rb2 Hicks rb3 Tatum that's how I would rank we haven't even seen Tatum yet five star I mean pretty much so I think I think Barnes could be ahead of Franklin I Jeremy I think I I like Barnes but I think the injury I just don't think he can be up there I think those know four I don't know what he's like yeah Zach we we've said it on here we'll say it again and and this might be a good time Jay to talk about uh tickets because he's asking which games we're going to go to but here's what I'll say the U Missouri game I will be at Jay will be at a lot of sooner uh the team will be there uh and I think a lot of Serge holls are going to try to make that one that's one I'd love to go to Old Miss 2 Missouri is November 9th right November 9th Missouri I will be at and then of course the home games a lot Billy Bowman's draft stock will increase because I think that uh he knows where he needs to improve and if he's if he just uh nails down a couple of those areas where it was was maybe something LA aasal or got beat I mean the guy's phenomenal with the when he he's phenomenal attacking the ball he's phenomenal when the ball's uh in play he's like a center fielder he goes and gets it uh I think he's gonna have a phenomenal year Karina uh Jimmy says there were some yes hey do you think that I think sometimes we forget it's crazy to me that Billy Bowman Danny studman Ethan DS Woody Washington it's crazy that their career is about to be over and they were in all of it they were in there with Lincoln Riley uh they were in there with Brent benol there's not many of them that stuck through all Michael says he'd be playing Corner if he was any faster uh I I don't know I don't know what their 40 times are so it's hard for me to uh hard me to figure that out yeah Tyler I don't know how that works bro uh I don't know what Kennedy Brooks for to time he wasn't slow dude go go look up his combine Jay maybe some maybe Hunter someone on here can look it up what are you saying when you say slow always stands out because he was drafted what sixth round it was one of the best yeah but Terrell Davis played behind probably the best offensive line for a few years in NFL I mean is is Billy Bowman a a first top two round guys Jay I do think I think I I think more like I think it's hard for a safety to get drafted that high Jeremy it's very hard he's a 90 overall in Thea Sports pretty dang good uh but I just I think it depends I just you don't see safeties getting drafting that high though right it says 44 n for Payton Bowen I'm talking about Billy Bowman Bowman is a 91 in EA overall that's pretty good so Bobby I agree I think second round pick not bad for an extremely slow guy and here's a deal hey at safety you don't have to run a 4-3 at all no I he's not extremely slow as my point uh BR the best safety to come out of Oklahoma Roy Williams Tony Jefferson was probably higher draft than Roy Williams W he uh I think Roy Williams is the best safety to play in in the NFL I don't Braden I don't know if U's getting Kennedy or not but I don't think it's GNA be Texas personally I think Florida probably has the best chance uh still recruiting 59 defensive acts uh yeah that's what a lot of them are unfortunately Zach I agree Tony Jefferson last a while but I'm taking impact of the game Roy Williams had a had a FL a a rule change because of him the horse so Bobby says Bowman was 449 that is not extremely slow uh John Hunter who is on the sooner surge as you know he is also a massive Eagles fan you guys would get along well I do like the move it's Forward Thinking uh Matt says kenedy's taking too long I think they're going to keep recruiting yeah it was interesting Jay with the noo Boomer tweet today that was very interesting to not have that tweet go out before yeah he looked slow because it was a 100 yards uh he was gassed but he did still scored and that's all that matters and and Bobby I think Gavin is super duper fast I think he's a kind of like a sneaky fast Jay there's people that said Gavin saluk slow last year I was on the lives during games when people said Gavin Sal needs to be benched he's slow they don't know what they're talking about Jason I've had several track athletes that look slower slow as can be and they're they're just running past people they look like they're not even running that's how you know you're someone's fast here's the thing I think no effort at all Jeremy to a lot of fans who say that I think what they mean by slow is I I don't think they mean true speed I think what they mean is he's looking for a hole he's being patient instead of just barreling through a hole running backs are different some just go flying through there and they may just get smacked some people are more patient waiting on blocks if if you line him up and just have him run yeah he's stinking fast I think but a lot of people just base the patience on being slow yeah and I agree with K the the high elevation there it is different uh for people if they haven't played there that's not over that's not over embellished sawchuck smoth to Eric uh Bobby says people mention uh misinterpret good Vision I agree and and Brenan Brennan Thompson Chief T-bird Chief tbird you and I have been on the bryndan Thompson train for a long time and I agree with you I think he's a 4-3 guy and I think Brennan Thompson is the fastest guy on campus on that team right now I'd go three Brennan Thompson's number one I think jentre Williams would be two and at three i' I'd probably go Gavin Sala or maybe bur maybe Zion reagin is a name j Ragin is fast you're right Ragin is very fast Jayden row used to be really fast uh and I don't know if he still is with all the injuries I'm sure he's still fast but he's also put on Jay some of the even jentry Williams they've muscled up a lot you you can lose some of that speed uh that's true I forgot about pedway he's fast he's quick yeah the U softball schedule I think is October when it comes out Jay big of a difference the guys that run a 4-3 get drafted they just jump up the draftboard if you run a 4-3 instead of a 4 five it's a big difference hey I also whatever that is big difference I also say this I also say this because I am on a track I'm watching track all the time and I'm on the track listen not just is when you're talking 4.3 and 4.5 it's a massive it's a massive difference because you're looking at in the 100 meter dash when everyone all eight lanes are running 10.4 to 10.5 I I it's crazy uh what I'm saying is that's a lot in a race that's a lot uh it's also a lot at running at running back in the NFL four5 and 43 you get paid a lot more money if you run a 43 I don't care what else you can do uh look at the receiver from Texas worthy how much did he jump on the didn't matter you give him the ball nobody's catching him no nobody's catching him he's gonna score every time and he it's not like he was that much faster than everybody else but even a little bit basketball let me ask I heard this on the radio and I think we should end it with this I don't watch basketball in the Olympics I I think we should end it with this heard this on the radio as a discussion when I was driving today and I thought that's that's kind of a good topic as a fan would you rather like I'm talking professional sports so if NBA would you rather the Thunder win a championship or USA win gold I mean I would way rather the Thunder win a championship majority a lot yes it's the same thing with golf those golfers in the Olympics do not care about the Olympics more than the Masters I know but a lot of the sports that matter in the Olympics are those where there's like swimming that's their biggest thing it's not the biggest thing for basketball it's not the biggest thing for golf that's kind of where I was getting of the you the swimmers and stuff you're rooting for to me that's like the true Olympic feeling because that is their that is their Super Bowl when you look at um but a lot of people say you got to be rooting for your country uh but you can even go in soccer I mean soccer is a little different soccer they play for their country it's more of a country sport than it is uh look GRE grey got says he wouldn't mind Canada win the whole thing because SJ but Jay you're right A lot of these guys play together too during the year so yeah it okay a
