hi it's Mitch from picd do.com here with your free pick in the Ohio State versus akan college basketball matchup on Saturday August 31st 2024 of course it's my favorite day of the week during my favorite time of the year it is college football Saturday if you like all the free picks we do at piic dogs you'll love our premium picks my Best Bets and Best Bets from the world's best handicappers get them at piic dogs.com under the premium picks tab I got a link directly below in the description as well if you're looking for VIP type packages you bet a thousand or more per game you have like a 10 ,000 plus bankroll looking for a long-term winning package we have that as well it's our VIP our regular premium though we have daily packages single games all the way up to yearly so that's really something for everyone I bet mine every day but let's get to this one Ohio State taking on akan one of these interesting opening day games because we have a giant against a real also ran and what you have also is a gigantic point spread which has been hovering around in the 48 and a half to 50 and a half range for Ohio State the home team the favorite and of course one of the teams that is considered to be one of the better teams in the country Ohio state has a pretty tough schedule this year including you know those teams moving from the Pack 12 over to the Big 10 making the Buckey schedule well going ahead a little tougher so how much will the Buckeyes actually put out there on the field for this particular game which should be a cakewalk against akan or you know do they really want to out go out there and prove a point because coach Ryan day has been a little bit under the hot seat not necessarily because you know he's had bad Seasons just hasn't beaten Michigan in a while and if you're an Ohio State coach well that is a problem it's an expectation of a coach at Ohio State to win those games against Michigan the thing is is you know when we look at Ohio State they bring in Chip Kelly to run the offense I mean he was the head coach at UCLA a team that would have been in the Big 10 this season you know and are in the Big 10 this season meanwhile he he gave up that job to be an offensive coordinator my guess is they threw a tremendous amount of money his way to take that job but Ohio State taking it that serious quarterback a little bit of a question mark here with Will Howard coming in you know he transfers in from Kansas State and the thing about him is he's kind of on his way out at Kansas State to be honest with that ay Johnson had kind of taken over that role as a starting quarterback so that's never a good sign and to be honest I think you see these transfer portal seniors it's rare where you hit a home run I mean most of the time it just seems like uh you know it doesn't work out as they had planned of course he's got a ton of talent around him does not have to worry about much has a powerful experienced backfield and of course wide receiver Ohio State just is basically becoming wide receiver you in the NFL some of the top receivers just seems Ohio State or LSU right just across the board in every different direction akan won two games last year they're not shouldn't be a heck of a lot better this year I think you know one of the things about the transfer portal is is that for big programs a lot of times they get to use these smaller schools as almost a farm system but some of these small schools ah some of those guys at the big schools that don't get the playing time they thought were going to get they transfer in and we see this at akan especially in the running back spot in this game the thing is is that I think Ohio State clearly wins this game I think they have it well in control and I think they dominate all the way from start to finish but um at the same time with a new offensive coordinator I think this game tends to go to the to the Lower Side uh makes it a little bit tough tougher to lay all these points it's a lean at best I'll take the bucke eyes and lay the bundle and that's going to be my free pick of course while you're doing your picks putting your bets in use our free betting tools at sportschatplace.com 100% free and they'll help put you on the most favorable bets on the board today
