what's going on everyone Chris from pick dogs.com here with your free pick in the Florida versus Miami week one college football matchup going down Saturday August 31st 2024 just a reminder if you haven't already make sure you're subscribe to our Channel and smash that thumbs up and if you're looking for my Best Bets the games that I love including my daily $19 best bet head on over to pick dogs.com and click the premium picks tab at the top of the page but let's get to this one between the Florida Gator and the Miami Hurricanes Florida coming in off of a disappointing year last year they went five- seven overall under Billy Napier and it was just not what the the Gators were expecting but they still had some solid quarterback play from Graham mer he completed 73% of his passes through for over 2900 yards 20 touchdowns to three picks still has some decent receiving options coming in from the transfer portal Ricky piol is gone but Eugene Wilson's back he was second on the team with 61 receptions had a team High six touchdowns you still got Montell Johnson in the uh in the running back room Trevor etn went to Georgia but still some decent options for the uh the running backs in in Florida but it was the defense that was a major issue last year I mean there were certain teams they could hold down they held down Vanderbilt Charlotte teams they should even beat up on Utah to start the year when Utah went to the swamp and don't get me wrong Gainesville is a tough place to go on the road and win but you also had teams like Georgia LSU Missouri they went all went crazy the run defense wasn't very very good and now you take on a Miami team that you know went seven- six last year it was a a step up in the right direction for Mario Christ ball they lost in the Pinstripe bow of ruter but this is a Miami team that's gotten a lot better they got better at quarterback they shift they they shift out Tyler van djk and they bring in cam Ward who was probably the best quarterback in the transfer portal dual threat quarterback that can make a lot of big plays they got a lot of that receiving room coming back as well they got some great running backs as well in uh in uh in in Miami with uh you know Damen Martinez coming over from Oregon State he was fantastic so what I think this boils down to is I just trust Miami a little bit more with these new pieces coming in I trust the defense to be Miami to be be better than uh better than Florida is and even though the uh like I said the swamp is a tough place to go on the road and win the reality is is that you know I think that Miami is just flat out the better team and I think it's going to show through here so I'm going to take the uh I'm going to take the the Miami Hurricanes in this one lay the two and a half points might the line may change as we get closer to kickoff but either way it's going to be Miami for me in this one and that's going to be my free pick but just a reminder if you haven't already make sure you're subscribed to our Channel and smash that thumbs up and if you're looking for my Best Bets you can find those a pck dogs premium while you're pic dogs check out our betting tools they're 100% free they're the best betting tools in the business and tools that you want to make sure that you have in your back pocket when you're making your Best Bets for the day's action thanks for watching see you guys soon
