what's going on everyone Chris from piic dogs.com here's your free pick in the Charlotte vs James Madison week one college football matchup going down Saturday August 31st 2024 just a reminder if you haven't already make sure you're subscribe to our Channel and smash that thumbs up and if you're looking for my Best Bets the games that I love including my daily $19 best bet head on over to pick dogs.com and click the premium picks tab at the top of the page but let's get to this one between the Charlotte 49ers and the James Madison dukes and Charlotte coming into this one you know didn't have the best year under Biff pogy in uh year one of that era 3- n overall 2- six in AAC conference play and you got to remember this is pogy's first job outside of high school in his career 64 and this is his first crack at a at a college program and it didn't do too badly you know didn't have a whole lot to work with Trexler Ivy's back but you know Ivy had issues with turnovers last year he threw 10 interceptions so it's probably going to be Max Brown transferring over from Florida to lead the race for quarterback one out of the gate you got carius Newton CJ Stokes it transferred over for Charlotte jerus Mack is back to lead the 49ers receivers so you know there's some pieces coming back for uh for Charlotte at least on that side and you got some decent pieces on the defensive side of the ball but uh there's also a ton of transfers that's going to need some time to come together more likely but you want to talk about transfers I mean that's James Madison a nutshell right now I mean JMU they had a great year last year you know 11-2 overall 7-1 in sunbell play they won the sunbell East because of their transition from FCS they weren't initially eligible for a bowl game but because of a lack of bull eligible teams they got an invite to the Armed Forces Bowl they lost to Air Force 31-21 but the kurts Signet era now over in James Madison as cetti took a job at Indiana but you know Bob Chesney coming over from Holy Cross and chzn has been nothing but a winner you know in his first few years he took Holy Cross to four straight FCS playoffs appearances and now he takes his talents to JMU and he's got a lot of pieces coming with him now yes like I said it's very transfer lad in team you got Dylan Morris he's going to probably be the quarterback under chese from the start mostly a backup at Washington but he's going to be given a chance to be the qb1 right away lost a lot of running back depth but aoad comes over from North Texas he had over 2200 yards in the last three years for North Texas at running back Tyler py comes over from holy um comes over from Holy Cross to join us former offensive coordinator Dean Kennedy he rushed for just under a th000 yards last year now it is a fairly green JMU receiving core and defensively there are some pieces that you know need to uh you know need to need to learn to gel as well but the thing for me here is that you know there's a lot of turnover happening within both sides but I just trust what JMU is doing a lot better than what Charlotte's got you know Biff pogy comes out a press conference a few days ago and says that half of his starters are banged up so that they may not even play is that a deoy is is is is there something there we'll have to see closer to the game time but even then I still think that just JMU is just the better team here so I'm going to roll with JMU in this one I'm going to lay the points with the Dukes on the road and that's going to be my free pick but just a reminder if you haven't already make sure you're subscribe to our Channel and smash that thumbs up and if you're looking for my Best Bets you can find those at pck dogs premium why your pck dogs check out our betting tools they're 100% free they're the best betting tools in the business and tools that you want to make sure that you have in your back pocket when you're making your Best Bets for the today's action thanks for watching see you guys soon
