San Francisco 49ers Draft Steal Rising Up The Depth Chart

if you had to give more responsibility San Francisco 49ers fans more playing time more offensive snaps to one player on the offensive side of the ball who's it going to be who do you and know this is not like we're on a deserted island and we need to you know figure out who's the most valuable player I mean who would you realistically want to give more offensive snaps to this season it's an interesting question Christian mcaffry would be an interesting one of course because of his incredible talent and what he can bring to the team so it's hard to argue against the offensive player of the year best running back in the league but we know that KY shanan wants to protect him and has at least said that he wants to utilize him a little bit less to try and increase that longevity makes sense Brandon IU could be a good argument if he got a big money deal done maybe you'd say Hey you know you're you're going to do 150 plus snaps this year or excuse me Targets this year cuz you you have to that's the money we paid you for right I don't think that's going to happen but we'll see Debo would be another good argument cuz he's coming up on his big trade summer if you're going to trade Debo it has to happen next summer or need to restructure his deal again um although the hit is not as intense from a salary cap pers perspective next year you also have those two void years following next year and so you'd want to see a trade happen where a team could take on some of that leverage in a different offense maybe George KD would be a good argument to be more utilized we've seen that in offenses in the past it's not exactly the way that um kle Shanahan likes to run his scheme but you could see that argument if you if you wanted to use the tight end in the game but I got something interesting for you today one Sho in the dark seventh round draft pick has risen up the depth charts I think you know who I'm talking about and is now getting more and more recognition welld deserved recognition I should say now being called for getting more offensive snaps this season in this video I'm going to tell you who it is and one analyst case for more offensive snaps this season lie after hearing this I think you'll feel even more pumped about Joan Jennings maybe not huge surprises in here but all great points comment below though is there anybody in this team that you want to see getting more snaps than Joan Jennings this season well let me let me rephrase that is there anybody on this team that you want to see getting more snaps than last season other than Joan Jennings it's an weird way to phrase that question apologies obviously I understand the argument for piol cing coow you want to see what you got in these guys right I get that that's fine whatever but they were they're rookies so I mean they didn't really fit factor into the offense last season I don't know that's a weird one for me and maybe you don't want to protect Christian mcaffrey and you just want to say this is our Super Bowl window we're just going hard I don't I don't care if he gets injured he gets injured here's the interesting take from 49ers web zone in 2020 the 49ers offense front office excuse me selected Tennessee volunteer wide receiver Jan Jennings in the seventh round picked 2117 with a very minimal chance to make the roster Jennings was given an opportunity to prove his worth and that is all he needed Jennings would go on to post a career 78 receptions for 963 total yards and seven touchdowns since his draft selection while the statistics don't seem promising because let's be honest it doesn't sound promising when you say it like that it truly does not explain the bigger picture the 26-year-old has carved out a role for the 49ers offense and has displayed a very clutch likee ability when his number is called upon earning the nickname third and Jan Jennings was a huge difference maker in the team's postseason run then talked about divisional match up against Green Bay Packers NFC Championship game against Detroit Lions big ones for sure of course he got that twoyear extension which is an interesting one considering the pickup of Ricky peaw and other offensive weapons currently on this loaded 49ers roster he wants to make the case going for more offensive snaps for Jennings in 2024 here are the reasons why and I just it just makes me happy to read it like yeah you hear it you're like oh yeah I kind already knew that but it just makes me happy proof in production since entering the league in 2020 there has been no other NFL receiver more clutch on third Downs than Jennings in the postseason just this year Jennings caught eight first downs on 10 receptions and gave quarterback Brock pretty a 133 passer rating when targeted PFF of course we talked about this recently uh had Jennings tabbed as the eighth best wide receiver in the open Target metric number two super strong work ethic again should not be a surprise to you this guy goes out there he balls hard every single day some some uh videos of him working out running routes all that good stuff Shanahan was asked if Jennings was the most ferocious run blocking wide receiver he's ever coached probably he said what he did driving that guy into the Gatorade is what he does every day at practice our defense tried to fight him last year because they thought he was going above and beyond that's how vicious he is as a blocker love it not going to hate on that at all number three experience in Shanahan's offense this will be the fourth training camp for Jennings and his experience in Shanahan's offense is the last reason why he should be earning more reps pea will need to adapt to the NF lifestyle and atmosphere while Jennings already has experienced it for three years having this experience is a very crucial as Shanahan's offense Demands a lot out of its athletes being able to properly block block route running being an art and understanding where to be and how to find voids within his own defense or beating man-to-man coverage are different aspects of the game that Jennings is used to and has done very effectively finally oh that was it that was the finally so my question to you guys is what do you think about that how do you feel about it are are you on board with that I love it because we talked about it when Joan Jennings was signed we've talked about it a couple times since then but JJ is like a crucial part of this team and he's often overlooked because of the other stars on this team because of the incredible talents on this team but he should not be understated how valuable he is to this football team and it was so cool when he got signed to see him uh to that extension recently it was so cool to see him just be so pumped on a 2-year $15 million deal which for a wide receiver of his caliber is probably under selling his value but because of his low production because of this highflying offense and having so many incredible targets that's where he Stacks up that's what his value is at and I love it I love that he is feeling like he's made it in this league earning seven and a half million whatever the math
