a slow start from the Eagles offense but the Eagles get the win in Brazil we're going to go over everything The Good the Bad the Ugly the I hope I don't see this again ever again and a lot more we might rant we might Rave it might happen so let's get straight into [Music] it a killer bared but not dead Darren we better turn around because I've seen enough horror movies to know any weirdo wearing a mask is never friendly yo yo yo yo what is going on guys I hope everyone's having a fantastic day I hope everyone's doing well okay going into the weekend now we had a Friday night game in Brazil first of the week first uh week for the Eagles and the Eagles win against the Green Bay Packers 34 34 to 20 di okay I already had this being a close game because I just you know the Green Bay Packers are a good team there are playoff implications with this game because this could be a team that we see down the road once again hopefully Jordan love is okay I'm hoping everything's good I don't know what the injury is but I know he got hurt the second to last play um of the game and you know all all hopefully everything's good with him don't want to see a guy get injured now going into this game okay now what is the writing on the wall in this game when it comes to right from the start where the Eagles go on defense okay and I I thought they did a pretty good job the most interesting thing since obviously the cornerback position where um Isaiah Rogers did not play in this game so quinon Mitchell actually played on the outside Avante Maddox on the inside since Avante Maddox is really your only backup um slot nickel corner at this point and I'm actually I never wish injuries upon anybody but I'm actually really happy and satisfied that quinon Mitchell did play on the outside and I thought he played absolutely amazing okay um I thought you know talking crap to you know to Watson you know going up for a couple deflections and you know they aimed at him a good amount of times you're going to win some you're going to lose some with these Corners it just happens uh but quinan Mitchell I got to say uh looks looks very reliable and can't wait to see more from him this season I thought he just really brought some you know just even Nick serani said it like no moment is really too big for quinan Mitchell and I I could totally believe that kind of going into his own and having that first game on outside corner and I I don't know what they're going to do next week but obviously we'll talk about that um you know this week in a few days since our next game is Monday night so I thought the corners uh quinon Mitchell did great um you know Avante mags didn't really have the best day I thought he was going to have I I don't know vonte Max really his biggest Kryptonite right now is facing big tight ends or even big receivers at this point um tall receivers I mean he's already he's already had issues with that in the past but at least he's healthy and he could play and he can at least try to get the stops I don't think he was that good um in this game the reason why quinan was on the outside in this game because really nobody plays on the inside no you know uh you know Eli Ricks doesn't play on the inside key Ringo doesn't play on the inside so and I don't think Isaiah Rogers comes back next week plays on the inside so Avante Maddox H hopefully just gets better as the weeks go on and when we do need him he will be the backup safety the backup uh nickel corner to quinan Mitchell and quinan goes back to that nickel spot if that happens we'll see most likely it probably will and by the time week two happens on Monday night against the Falcons you know I think that nickel spot will be a huge upgrade by quinan just being in there um getting his feet wet a little bit so I thought I thought the corers did pretty good the defense actually did very well in this game I mean it could have been 14- nothing beginning of this game okay the offense with Jaylen Herz what happened the two turnovers obviously backed up to the six um you know on sequan you know uh you know slipping and sliding on this field and it was a mess the field was a disaster it was really bad it was as bad as a 22 Super Bowl or even worse because I felt like we just couldn't really we got a lot of nonp productivity out of some positions because of the slipping and sliding and uh you know Green Bay was affected by this as well as well as the Eagles were okay um you know Jaylen Herz throws a pick there defense comes back holds to three points you had a bad snap by cam Jurgens fumbled snap Eagles defense holds to three points I think where you're really looking at the defensive line in general which I really did like was the DTs I thought Jaylen Carter could could have got some calls on him at least for sub holding you know I thought pressure up the middle was good uh Jordan Davis I thought beginning of the game played really well and you know we got gashed on some runs Josh Jacobs I thought we shut him down for a good amount of time um and then using Wilson you know and then they start going back to Josh Jacobs they start getting some runs on us gashing gashing us up the middle could have been linebacker assignment or something like that whing on a couple tackles at times so um I thought the DTs did good defensive ends I feel like is still a big weakness for this team going forward Nolan Smith didn't do much the 17 million doll man and Bryce Huff did not do much in this game okay now I did see on the re touchdown from Jordan love that big that big pass downfield that one was wide open and I know that Bryce Huff got up you know had pressure slipped got up again slipped again so the defensive ends really had a hard time joshh W actually played pretty good I think he was the best defensive end that played really well obviously know jayx hunt Brandon Graham eh you know okay uh but I I thought I thought Josh wet could have had a few sacks today had a I think I don't know if it was one or two holding calls but I thought he played really well um linebackers man dude I mean the you know obviously no Devon white in this game okay Zack Bon the one player I was like ah you know I think he's just fangio's favorite at this point and I got got to say I mean 15 tackles two sacks um for two sacks for Zack Bon was amazing this is going to be our best coverage sorry our best coverage linebacker and the guy can Blitz the guy's physical the buy the guys is I I I'm I'm just I'm seeing why fans you'll like this kid so much even on the Reed blankin ship interception he moves so good even moving backwards like he could start at linebacker and just start covering on the back end so well in coverage which really covered that up re it comes up for that big pick later in the game so Zack Bon man I really really enjoyed watching him play I think honestly he's the best that we have and I can't wait to see more games you know he's on a one-year deal so he's working for that bigger contract um after this year and statistically looks really good and um he was all over the place making tackles all over the place Zack Bond tackles that I mean he's I mean he could he could he'll beat you in a straight line he could run east and west sideline to sideline make tackles I mean athletically wow I mean I didn't see much in the you know he only got a few steps in the preseason games like a series barely that those two preseason games okay the last one I don't think he played so it was nice to see him nocoe Dean wow okay the one thing went to Kobe Dean I think the Eagles have to use him a specific way as a downhill linebacker remember that big hit on on the running back the pick six the almost pick six that he had and you know getting pressure on the quarterback van Fu did a fantastic job with these linebackers really dialing up that Blitz when we really needed it and it worked it looks like we know how to Blitz even going to the first game here compared to last season when we were blitzing and literally it looked so ugly we just couldn't get any pressure whatsoever but yeah it uh linebacker I know I I think Devon sorry I think dcoe Dean played very well um the only problem like I said is that his backend coverage if he has to chase somebody I I feel like that is a big weak this uh to his craft unfortunately you know this is what fangio does with his linebackers and if he can't do it then you know he might give up bigger yards than we expect but from a downhill standpoint and maybe they just have to use him that way to be honest with you I thought nioby Dean had a really really good game so Props to him um and you know apparently he's been looking even the last few weeks of train Camp you know he was looking really good the last few weeks of train camp and practice n Kobe Dean looked really good so was really happy for him um going forward now the safeties I thought chony had some good tackles he had a hand injury I know trishan mccum went in for him later in the game um it seems like Reed blanket ship is still going to be sidelined until the weeks go on till he gets more practices under his belt because realistically I if they're putting Christian mcau in at safety and they didn't put Reed BL ship for that chony Garder sorry they didn't put in uh Cooper Dee for that re uh for the chony Gardner Johnson injury then I'm really expecting Deen to be probably play some nickel honestly uh that's where I kind of have him right now if if Trisha mcom comes in over Cooper Deen I'm expecting uh dein to really be in that next uh maybe to move into that backup role um I really want him to play there's no way as a I mean I think he's a first round Talent the guy should be you know just sitting as a backup I know he'll get some play uh at some point we'll see what happens uh during the next week into the next few days you know when the Eagles Rest up get back to practice and see what happens there um but you know defensive side of the ball really that's I I I felt like they really held up well okay you you you know when the offense is getting three and outs and things are happening and and things we're not we're not really love seeeing with this with this offense the defense held their own I feel like the cornerbacks played the quarterbacks played really fast got off their blocks you had three or four helmets to the football defensive line they had some pressure okay but the edge like I said because of the field conditions and I feel like we have to wait another week uh to see if you know if this continues with the edge rushers you know jayx hunt didn't playing this game either or um you know if this happens again where the you know Bryce Huff is not doing much like you're paying this guy a lot of money so you know there's there's a lot that really has to connect together but for a first game for the defense I felt like they really held up for the offense to you know say hey we're we're we're we're making these stops we're waiting for the offense to make some big plays um and that's where we're at with that situation defensively saw I thought they I thought they stuck together I thought they played really well and and that's where we're at um offensively okay I I'm not going to put too much into a first game but I will because that's just who I am and if people are going to just be pissed off of me for S certain things then the hell with you um because let's talk about the positives here saquon Barkley holy crap I I the last Philadelphia Eagle to have a three touchdown debut he's the second Eagle in history okay right behind Terrell Owens with a three touchdown debut good offensive line good weapons saquin feels like he's not even on the he doesn't even feel like he's on The Scouting Report for a lot of teams going forward because there's just too much to look there's there's too much as of right now when it comes to who you have to watch out for Devonte Smith AJ Brown Dallas gotd Dallas GD you know got his catches when he had to which was great calcatera had a wide open a wide open catch in the second half okay tight end wasn't bad Sequon Barkley 109 yards three touchdowns two rushing and one receiving fantastic you couldn't ask for a better debut I I didn't think seon Barkley was going to do that much in this game cuz I thought we were going to spread it a little bit more but the Run game worked you have a talent you have a guy that you're paying $12 million a year to Tote The Rock for you and to be in the receiving game as well to 20 some over 20 carries gainwell had lot less than that way less than that I don't even know how many rep I don't even know how many rushes gel had gel went out for a couple passes he actually played pretty good too where it really mattered not many rushes for you know and I got to say this the end of the second quarter I thought was great um whether you agree with this or not they took out Barkley at the end of the second quarter they put in Kenneth gainwell um towards the end of the first half just to give maybe give saquan some rest whatever happened there um you know whether you agree with it or not it seems like they just want to give saquan a rest going into the half and then you know kind of coming out fresh okay um so sequan giant fans are crying they're they're upset and we have a legit three- down running back that's getting paid and we're treating him well okay um what I'm not liking so much and I thought the offensive line relatively played really good I think Makai beckton looked good um I know Mada gave up on you know there was one for Lane Johnson when he thought there was a penalty and then he just unblocked somebody and it wasn't a penalty and uh it was a free sack on Jaya Herz can't do that I don't care if the whistles you know you want the whistle to be blown for a guy going off sides never do that um but I thought you know meat gave up I think one two pressures something like that so for a first game guys not yelling together and trust me we're going to get into the meat and potatoes of this video because I got to say this Jaylen Herz okay it was a rough start from the beginning the defense held up like I said okay throwing a pick two picks for Jaylen Herz there probably should have been four picks because of AJ Brown wasn't playing cornerback on top of the Green Bay Green Bay Corner that was trying to get the ball from him pretty much almost pretty much had it in his hands and AJ had to knock it down the sideline throw in the second half uh right to the sideline that I was almost picked up you know picked going up field that would have been a pick six probably um it's really hard for me to say that some of these plays that I did see the other night looks exactly from last year I don't know how many game I don't know how many times they ran under Center sorry they they passed under Center or whatever they actually had plays under Center there was pre-at motion a lot uh especially with Briton cvy but to be honest with you like I didn't see much of it a lot of the same plays from last year tight end screens why are they still doing that okay the read option keeper I I'm I'm done with it teams already figured this out the read option keeper the QB draw stop stop using Jaylen Herz like this it's apparently it's not working and they're going to keep using it going forward I don't think it's going to go away and Jaylen Herz didn't look fast in this game and primarily I don't think he looked like he had speed because I think he was still contemplating I think he was undecisive on times where he was running with the football in his hands and was you know worrying about slipping worry about sliding because everybody was slipping and sliding this game for both teams it was a horrible matchup this field was not playable okay I'll say this for both sides okay why am I still believing that Nick serani has so much to do with this offensive Playbook still you're in the second half okay and let me tell you something Jaylen Herz won the game Jaylen Herz won this game okay I'm not going to put any disrespect on that but I feel like when they ask Herz to do way too much he makes mistakes I can't lie about it I saw it my own two eyes last night okay you're literally in an you're you're literally on a third and second and two you're not even running the ball second and two don't run the ball throw a stupid pass third and two don't run the like I I don't get why you just make it so difficult for Jaylen Herz why are you making this so difficult for this offense you scored 34 points last night okay on good play to subpar play I thought some sequences to this offense were just really ugly really ugly especially the end of the second half at least into the fourth quarter okay you get a big run from saquon Barkley big run all the juice you know there's energy into the offense and then you run an empty back set two times you throw that almost pick to the sideline and then you extend a play no safety blanket no running back empty back set for the second time and he throws a pick into the end zone and almost double coverage or double coverage I have to look back at it again you know AJ Brown I guess slipped on that play I don't know from what I saw I guess he did slip would he have had that I'm not even sure you give your quarterback weapons let him use these weapons because at the end of the fourth quarter Devonte Smith couple good catches really good throws by jayen Herz okay Devonte Smith looks stronger he looks faster breaking tackles going up field getting these first downs the short pass game is working out so good how many times see Devonte Smith catch a ball and get those extra Yak yards how many times do you see AJ Brown catch some short ones for extra Yak getting that first down a few times in this game the short the short yardage game is what I really like the short throws to obviously the big Yak big yardage after that because you have the receivers to do it okay you have the receivers to do that but the question I have is that why are you making it so hard on this QB give him no help in the backfield putting it all on him he's I feel like every time he extended a play in this game it went nowhere he extends a play he goes to the right side like I don't know if he's being handicapped for some specific reason remember I think it was the third quarter where he rolled out to his right and there was all this patch of grass in front of him and he still threw that stupid pass to Johnny Wilson that literally was going nowhere okay all that grass in front of him could have ran for I don't know six to eight yards maybe more than that if he wanted to get some contact with it and then there's other times where Herz is in the pocket I think I think Green Bay what Green Bay did really well was they they they really contained Jaylen HZ they really didn't let him escape the pocket okay you know ran up the middle a couple times you know for a few yards get the yards and slide protect your body don't take unnecessary hits but when you throw those short passes God life is so much easier when you're throwing those short passes and your receivers are doing all the work for you let the offense work for you is what I'm saying why make it so much harder third and two second I mean you have that big run with saquon Barkley keep running the ball I don't even care care if they' used the different back at that point for a play or something like that keep running it with saquan but yet you do this stop the read options with saquin sure sure it's going to trick defenses you don't know if Jaylen Herz is going to run with it himself keep it for himself or he's going to hand it off to Squan Barkley it's a it's a really good tactic to use okay but defense as soon as Herz has the ball in his hands it's it seems like teams just read it so well and the Packers were prepared for this because the Eagles did that [ __ ] last year Non-Stop and no one's tricked by that they have to change that around going forward okay so I think Herz will be bad if they keep doing that they're putting him in a bad situation and I don't know when he extends a play and he's in the pocket how many times have we see him in the pocket and he had like 8 Seconds of protection nobody open runs to his right and on the progression extending the play and looking at his progression I just feel like either he can't read it you know so it it really comes down to this coaching staff making things easier for Herz because if he keeps doing this he's going to be a pick machine If he if if there's nothing wrong with an empty back set or anything like that but you did it two plays in a row near Red Zone okay you need to score you need to tire out the defense you need to I don't know do something run the football run the football man that that's you know what I mean like it's it's not rocket science why make it you know I understand like if you spread out the offense you spread out the defense you're by yourself and now everyone's either in man coverage or playing Zone depending on what the matchups are Herz could pick his poison sometimes it's not going to work because if there's pressure and you have protection you end up getting pressured it changes the whole play automatically once you roll out to the left you roll out to the right you stay in the pocket and there's guys in your face you can't throw the football because you got guys jumping in front you know what I mean so it's it's a really it's it's a really tough sequence they had some really bad sequences in this game why the hell guys are you not playing in preseason I've said this over over 200 passes for Jaylen Herz in training camp no picks I'm like I thought it was a joke I thought it was a joke why how did I know that this was going to happen in this game I feel like it was the I thought it was vice versa I thought the defense was really going to struggle and the offense was going to be just on fire but I have to be realistic with myself and say wow you know no this is what happens when you run an offseason program and your guys aren't playing together in preseason don't count one joint practice one joint practice okay and then you practice against each other every day practicing against each other only goes so far because everybody knows each other there's not an offense that you know your own team can't give you different looks to a certain extent it's not the same when you're in a you know you're not getting tackled on game day the quarterbacks don't get tackled in joint practice like it's not real game like situations for certain positions joint practice has value and then when Nick's pissed off on the sideline in this game like what am I like am I supposed to feel bad am I supposed to root W agree with him that we look like crap why do you think we look like [ __ ] it's because of this head coach so I'm hoping they don't ruin jayon Herz theoretically and ruin his season this year because of these horrible sequences and they're trying to get cute with plays and the read option keeper and the QB draw and unnecessary [ __ ] that they don't need to have in this offense right now to tush push fumble just run the ball in the end zone a tush push fumble you know I've like lost my voice today we won thank God but but this is one week in the books okay my main concerns is the coaches putting Jaylen Herz in a successful situation make it easy for your quarterback when it comes to keeping sequa on the field running the football and let those receivers work for you Johan doson obviously needs a few more weeks because you know he's he hasn't been here long I didn't expect him to have no big game but maybe it would have been a match up I don't know they use a lot of double tight end sets as well today cuz kellmore loves his tight ends okay this was their this was their preseason game in a playoff implication type game that they could run into down the road defensively I can't really complain whatever touchdowns they gave up whatever that was going on in the game today I you know they were on the field a good amount I thought they were going to tire out I thought they were tired at a certain point in the second half because they were gashing us with the Run game okay I think athletically we look good defensively I love the linebackers I love the cornerbacks I think your deep at corner it's going to get better even next week sorry in couple weeks Monday Night Football and when it comes to turnovers we have to capitalize we had that one pick with Reed blanket ship that was it Reed had a great game you had a fumble SL slay had Jacobs I don't know if it was against a tackle on Wilson or Jacobs but he had him fumble the football we couldn't pick it up you know the pick six from the Kobe Dean man so close you understand if Dean gets that pick six they don't score on that drive so things happen for a reason guys and I think this was a nice first step to the season this was the offense's preseason game as sad as it sounds I'm really afraid that they that Nick has gotten involved a little bit because there are plays there that reminded me of last year and the last thing is obviously the edge rushing position that we need whether it's the field conditions it could have been because I don't think Bryce Huff would be this bad today Josh wet got held a few times had some penalties against him which was good you know the DTs have no issue with we get jayx hump back next week um so like I said I was really dog on Herz in that stream because of course he throws a pick I'm going to get pissed off that's just how it goes but I blame the coaching staff okay there is no reason to pay a12 million running back and not have him still in the game and give Jaylen Herz two empty back sets with no help no safety blanket and you you know what I mean screw the tush push bro because if kel Kelsey's not here we know this they did run it once really good and and I think you could tell that they need practice all this talk about the Eagles being the offense clicking there there was no clicking they clicked at times in this game but some sequences were God awful God awful okay and obviously less amount on those penal the penalties on both sides were really I mean that game went really slow because you if you have a penalty on every single play whether we're on the offense or the defense whatever the case may be it's they gota they gota you know deescalate on the on the penalties a little bit so that's really my review of the Eagles versus the Packers in Brazil I'm glad we're out of Brazil I'm glad we're coming back home we actually have our actual home opener on Monday night next week okay I'm not killing Jaylen Herz because it's the first game I'm not killing Jaylen Herz because a lot of this has to be the coaching staff too A lot of it the more you put on jayon herz's shoulders by himself I think the worse he's going to get obviously when he scrambled to the left side had that R had that rushing first down by himself you know he he used all what he had to get that first down and then he scored and then we made it count for what it was obviously the AJ Brown touchdown didn't discuss the 67 yard touchdown was amazing on Jer Alexander in coverage which was great the receivers did good did really well this coaching staff needs to do better in the off season and they need to they need to give hurts they they need to Herz Herz needs the help the the guy can't do it by himself and all those in an empty back set Mo it can't do it you can't do it these games not like this run with saquon Barkley throw short passes to these receivers make things simple the weapons will do the work for you so Jaylen Herz doesn't have to do all this extend the play and run this way and run that way and oh read option I'm going to keep it I'm going to run slow I'm gon to slide you know I he doesn't need to do all that like that's what I'm that's what I'm saying if he continues if the coaching staff says this is what you're going to do he's going to throw a [ __ ] ton more picks this year and he's going to be one of the worst quarterbacks this year if he does this if he keeps doing this like I said not on Herz on the coaching staff putting him in that position okay that's where I'm at with this whole entire thing with Jaylen Herz was pissed at Jaylen hers obviously it's ingame emotions are running High we're pissed off why' you throw that I get it but when you don't have anybody in the back field when things just don't when you're not running a specific play a run play on third second and two third and two and you're just like running I mean seriously you're running a keeper a quarterback draw come on now he he gets he gets he's getting hit already it's the first game of the season so hopefully they've learned from this hopefully it's going to get better next week when we Face Atlanta in at the link in Philadelphia I know I've been going back and forth in this video but it's true okay um I think Herz is going to have a great season but the coaches have to do right by him otherwise that's what he's going to look like every game that's what he's going to look like you know I had a lot of people in the comments a lot of people in the live chat were saying oh he stinks BL I said that was a trash play that he just did that was a trash play couple of those picks K would been picked like two more times to be honest with you but we survived and we're going into week two and for the Philadelphia Eagles and Jaylen Herz they better figure this out quick first game's under their belt now now they got their feet wet this was their preseason game the sequences somewhat good and a and somewhat a lot of deja vu from last year which makes this even more scarier by the day so sorry for the long rant but this is where I'm at with the situation let me know what you guys think about the game in general what what are your biggest fears going into week two um what did you like
