Intro oh my God Eagle fans get my blood boiling and not you guys but Eagle fans do get my blood boiling on certain things that are posted and certain things that are just not true going into really this last week of preseason and where this whole situation is going I want to go into that um I want to go into specific players today um that really have done a good job and there's a lot of what if situations between this year and next year what can happen this season I think it's really exciting um so let's get straight into the [Music] video a killer buried but not dead Darren we better turn around because I've seen enough horror movies to know any weere to wearing a mask is never [Music] friendly y yo what is going on guys I hope everyone's having a fantastic day I hope everyone's enjoying themselves so obviously this is the last week by the time you're watching this I think today is the last practice apparently they were supposed to practice today tomorrow and it looks like they're going to be they're they're going to do walkthroughs on Thursday okay apparently so I think to today is the last training camp day is the last day I think it's the last day open to the beat Riders I guess and that's really it and we're coming down full circle past training camp past the last preseason game this week and it's our countdown to the regular season now a few things I definitely want to go over yeah some of the highlights from day 16 but really we know the positions are a lock right now um the competition's pretty much over everywhere we talked about rumors with trades at wide receiver 3 if they feel like you know this is a position where they really have to upgrade but I think one position that we have to be really thankful for I think one is that it's going to take us a long way and it's really up to the Eagles not to screw this up um in the future is really the Quinyon Mitchell Philadelphia Eagles with quinon Mitchell okay quinon Mitchell today started basic defense as an outside corner and then switched inside to nickel this is one of the very big opportunities that we have as a secondary and for these coaches to really get right since you've put more of your compensation your resources into the secondary going into this season quinan Mitchell is making plays on the outside quinan Mitchell is making plays um on the inside as of right now so there's a lot of really good things to take from it like this could end up being a lanon Dickerson situation where I really hope this doesn't happen if quinon Mitchell is so good at nickel this year what if they keep him there and say you know what maybe they'll extend Rogers maybe they'll draft another Corner next year there's so many Endless Possibilities that could happen and it makes me like I said it makes me a little nervous because this is an opportunity where a firstr talent in quinan Mitchell that Vic fangio took a big gamble and put him in a different position that he's never played and it seems like the coaching aspect is really working on a lot these players that are adding more to their into their toolbox and because fangio sees the potential and knows that there is potential from some of the changes he has made to some of these players became a really a big bright spot you know and I think that's been one of the biggest things that we've seen this offseason program he's done it to a few players already but with quinan Mitchell though to have a guy that can play inside outside God forbidden the year's future where you have injuries to the secondary um you have a hybrid guy that can move to the inside if you really want him to because we really see quinan Mitchell being that starting outside corner by the 25 season but God forbid you have injuries this year he can always kick out to the outside and that's always a good thing to have so I don't want this to turn into another land Dickerson situation like I said and I and I hope that you know I don't think they're going to do that I think they have done enough where they have put him at both spots and I think he's going to be a big highlight for the future of this team going forward and I'm excited to see what quinan Mitchell does he had a pretty crazy day today him and Devonte Smith were going at it head-to-head I know he was beat by AJ Brown down the field today but he Lo he did a good he had a good rep on Devonte Smith he got beat by Devonte Smith on a couple but he he's not getting beat by five to 10 yards barely even that I would say like maybe two yards he's being beat barely at that point um he's always had close coverage he's never been beaten by over 15 yards where he's just getting burnt like crazy um you know but iron sharpens iron guys quinan Mitchell is just going to get better because of I think anybody in the secondary is really going to get better especially from a coverage standpoint you know of what you're facing in this offense which is a Powerhouse uh so quinan Mitchell for this year and his future it's looking really good right now now Jordan Davis had a lot to say in the press conference or really after the practice the 16th day uh practice um so Nolan Smith & Nakobe Dean really they asked him like you know who we think thinks we'll have a big season and obviously he really had to back up both of his Georgia teammates noobe Dean and Nolan Smith um he thinks that everyone is going to be shocked by what they do this year now I have to agree niobe Dean we were very you know from 20 22 where he came in for some games he flashed you know when when the Eagles had a couple touchdown leads and he would come in at the end of the game and really be like man we can't wait to see ncoe D in the future then the Eagles went to 23 saying hey you let's we have ncoe Dean who cares what we have other than that they they got some mediocre linebackers around him and then you know Zack Cunningham was pretty much the good signing really the only good signing out have a bad group of linebackers ncoe Dean ends up getting you know ends up getting hurt two times on IR once and he misses almost the whole offseason program and only makes I think the last preseason game you know so uh he had to deal with an injury last year but now this year we've seen him turn it up slowly every single day that open practice where he got destroyed verbally by every Eagles fan including myself where he had his ankles broken twice could him get an angle tackle or cover um you know Kenneth gainwell on a couple of these wheel routes or just regular dump off passes and he just couldn't get it done it really comes down to instinct when it comes off of you know getting to the spot you could be in the spot but making that tackle is just really Instinct and the Eagles can't really teach that you just got to have that within yourself but really sense that open practice niobe Dean from from the Ravens game to the Patriots game the work ethic um I think it's been phenomenal I think it's been absolutely phenomenal he's looked more aggressive he's looked more solid and like I said I I think this linebacker core is really exciting going to this year like I want to see if noobe Dean beats Zack Bon out of his job if Zack Bon is the teachers pet of Vic Fango that he likes so much but can Zack Bon you know play well you know is he fools gold you know we know Devon White's going to have a big year this year he is playing play fantastically downhill but noobe Dean is really the only question is his coverage I feel like if he has to move backwards into coverage I think that's really one of his weak mind his weak sets of his play I think Vic Fango needs to play him more downhill because even some of his blitzes and fangio believes in the blitz what they've seen from him it's been amazing it's been really solid and uh ncoe Dean is trending in a really good direction right now now Nolan Smith we talked about this a million times I fight with eagle fans every day about the situation is that I don't think Nolan Smith has much in his toolbox right now like I feel like now he in Camp today he actually did really well he had a or the other day um he actually had uh one of the receivers covered I think uh going out to the right sideline uh it was overthrown by Kenny picket of course uh Taran mcke ended up getting hurt by the way I just want to let you guys know but um I don't know how serious it is we don't have no idea but I just want to let you know on that but no but Smith had some good coverage there I think his athletic ability will take him far when it comes to coverage but because he doesn't have much technique and I feel like if Georgia lines him up outside as a wide nine and he could find that crevice give him more space between him and the tackle I think when he has a little bit more space in front of him he will find his Niche he will find that little crevice I think he has to work with a crease not bull rushing a tackle because when he bull rushes he goes absolutely nowhere obviously that gave dur the Patriots where he bull rushed the tackle the Patriot running back pretty much chipped him into the lane and gave him a pretty much pushed him into the lane and got him a free sack pretty damn much I didn't take much from that play at all so noan Smith I don't think has been trending upward I feel like they need to use him significantly different on the defensive line as a more of a wide nine technique that's just me more space more speed work you know skinny his body through a crease I think all of those attributes and that skill set will start to flow out out of him but because they're not using him that way straight up like one-on-one close up to a tackle he's not going to do much of anything I hope Jordan Davis is right and for himself he's got to have a big year too so you know he's going to back up his teammates we know this I think ncoe Dean I think there's a good shot he's going to play good this year but Nolan Smith is still a big question mark right now everybody's still a question mark because we really haven't played our first game but all we can go on is what they have done at training camp so far and where this process is rolling right now now there were some idiot Eagle fans Stupid Reports! Slay Trade or I don't know there's been a couple reports coming out and it's very sparingly like it's I'm here to shut it down I'm not here to to spread rubers about it but I'm here to really shut it down that there was some Darius Slay trade rubers and I don't know why these I don't know why people have to make up stuff okay if slay was going to be out of the building at this point he would have been gone but let me tell you something slay has been a big part as well as you know I didn't like the things that he said last year when the guy was really falling but slay has had a really good time uh teaching the young guys he's not he's a very selfless man that wants to teach the young guys before he leaves whether slay is here after this year whether he gets traded or he is pretty much going to retire from the some of the I guess some of the rumors that have been coming out veteran players make a huge difference for the young guys and because you have so many young faces especially at the cornerback position I think key Ringo's been a dog I think Eli RX has had a has his chance at times um and I think you know quinan Mitchell has gotten the best you know we gotten the best out of quinon Mitchell because of you know some of the veteran leadership from Darius SLE and willing to teach him things and wants this position to be okay when he does leave it's the same thing with Bryce Huff talking about Brandon Graham today like you know Bryce Huff is still a young player you know I'm coming off a 10 sack season getting paid a lot of money and you know BR Brandon Graham is always keeping the you know keeping the quality of practice at a high level when it comes to his vocal leadership and obviously being very positive during practice and keeping the guys mentally right so this is the year to have a veteran player on a defensive line like that and you know Bryce Huff can learn a lot from him too so veteran players make a huge difference I I didn't really want to I never went into the 24 off season saying we need to trade Darius slle okay never went to the off season even saying that I figured Bradberry would be the one out and not slle because I feel like if they're going to double down at cornerback they really need him in the building okay and with Bryce Huff yeah this is a crucial year for him this is his first year where you know now you're not some rotated you know rotational type guy that's getting paid no money to be a third down defensive end for the Jets at 43% of the snaps now you're getting more snaps now we're really C on to make plays in coverage that I feel like he's been very good from what I've been hearing in the last week and a half he's been very good in practice when it comes to his coverage um and going after the quarterback has been pretty good too so like I said when I heard those stupid rumors about slay traded it would never happened if it was to happen like oh yeah they're just waiting for SLE to teach these guys get them prepared and then they're just going to trade SLE if you trade SLE it's going to be like a 4 it's $40 million against the cap I mean it's almost impossible to trade him it's impossible and what are you going to get for slay realistically at the end of the year if they want to trade him if he doesn't want to retire and they feel like ke Ringo needs to jump to that number two spot yeah they're going to you know that it'll be a lot lower than what it is I don't know what it looks like for next year at the end of you know at the end of this year going to the off season next year what the money's looking like but it's too much of a big dead cap hit and plus the Eagles would never do it so like Eagle fans man I tell you like I don't I don't get it like trust me I'm very I'm very I don't on hls when it comes to these players but that just annoys me uh sometimes but that's where we're at right now so veteran leadership is huge for these other guys the new signings and obviously young guys coming in Devonta Smith Far From done Devonte Smith you know we don't really talk much about agj Brown Devonte Smith because we we know what we expect them to do during these these practices during training camp you know haven't played in preseason but Devonte Smith I feel like is going to have a bigger year than we've ever seen before since Kell Moore is really putting in uh not just go routes and not post Corners barely even that and you know throwing 70 yards downfield and relying on these guys to catch it you're going to see Devonte Smith you know work middle of the field and you know take it take an example from last year the last game against the Tampa Buccaneers in the playoff game that was the first time we threw a slant pass twice and Devonte Smith was literally from our 30 yard line 25 yard line to the Tampa Bay 3540 I mean it literally took one play with Devonte Smith in open space to get to the other side of the field AJ Brown we know what he's going to do Devonte Smith it's always been one half of The Season's AJ brown one half of the season is Devonte Smith Devonte Smith I don't think we've seen the ceiling of and that's really scary because he have shown us a lot just imagine with the crossers hot route Slants and just using things like that just Devonte Smith I think and I need to see more of Devonte Smith throwing to him in open space and see what because we don't really see we see him contested catching has always been a big thing that we never thought Devonte Smith could do um you know and he's done that really well for a small as small as he is he he catches those big boy catches he does uh but when it comes to open space I feel like the eagles haven't done enough of that because they never got the chance to really really had the for really they couldn't they didn't know how to scheme Guys open like that in open space and find you know make adjustments non-stop during a game and seeing what the weaknesses of the defense whether it's injury in game or just in general straight up what you have on the defense um so Devonte Smith like I'm expecting way bigger things we know AJ Brown always has both these guys always have big years but Devonte Smith I'm hoping he has more yards than AJ Brown to be honest with you and I think he will have more yards than AJ Brown this year um I think he'll have more yards I uh I think it really depends last year I had AJ Brown um having more catches Devonte Smith having more yards so I think it could be almost the same thing because I think Devonte Smith will do a lot more with the size that he is in open space making guys miss and getting more of those chunk yards up field so very exciting time I just wanted to talk about Devonte schi and just how crucial he is and I don't think he's hit it because of the play calling we we haven't hit the huge trademark of what all of these guys could do it it's that scary going into this year and lastly I Anias Smith + WR3 want to talk about annias Smith he actually had his best practice one he had did a lot of One V ones today he did really well this is just a good starting point he probably will play a crap ton this week um I'm not expecting much honestly it's been a very big disappointment from annias Smith and unfortunately this is just where he's at when it comes to his progression I don't know if he's thinking too hard there's a lot going on in his life is there something that he's dealing with off the field in real life maybe it's affecting him on the field I honestly don't know because I had him winning this wide receiver three job because I think he's the perfect size I think he's got the toughness he's uh I called him the open the open field demon because that's what he is at 58 180 190 pounds like he's he I think he's perfect size for that position and figured you know he would have turned up and unfortunately it hasn't happen um he goes to practice squad we'll see if anybody picks him up off our practice squad if somebody like really does like him and think that they could produce him but I think the Eagles have done as much as they possibly could for him um and we know what wide receiv receiver 3 looks like right now it's either K Moore has said and this is what K Moore said today that he he might he's going to use a diverse type you know different type of guys for specific plays okay so they might go into the season saying we like Paris Campbell Britain cvy Johnny Wilson screw it we're going to use those guys we don't have a prime wide receiver three we're going to start a guy and then we're going to rotate guys for certain plays keep the defense on their heels and keep guessing what they're going to do having to deal with different receivers so that's a whole different thing they could do going forward um with the wide receiver three position um or they go out and make a trade which we've talked about John mey and we Hunter Renfro we've talked about all the crap that's been going on Jan dots and we talked about it all um so that's all I really want to say about the wide receiver three position a Smith and where you know what Kell Moore said today at his press conference before practice started as of that position because the Eagles have said even how Rosman said before training camp started that this is the position group battle that they're going to be looking at Daily and for me I feel like I've seen enough from a you know if you want to use these guys and Mo and you know if you want to use a mixture of these guys in a game that's fine but if you're looking for that number one guy that's going to get the most reps and then sub a little bit in game for specific plays I I don't think we found that guy unless Paris Campbell is already the number one guy in secret and we don't know that yet and then kind of use the other guy Paris Campbell was pretty much the best receiver in Camp um before he had this groin injury and now let's see if he plays this week I don't know if Paris Campbell sits Thursday night sorry whenever the game is this week Saturday th I forgot when it is if he sits if he's not even dressed then then I think he's the starter I honestly think he is is we'll see some of the other receivers who who's dressed who's not we had to cut this team down by next Tuesday so it's going to be interesting Outro so other than that guys that's pretty much it that is the 16th day of eagles training camp we have one more day which is today and then I think that's it apparently they were supposed to have two more practices and I think they canceled the other practice for tomorrow and I think it'll just be straight walkthroughs and then that's it we're not going to be hearing anything during practice what's going on and that
