LIVE: Nebraska Huskers Shine; Michigan Horrific; Penn State Scare; Illini Upset

well how are you on this weekend Dylan riola and Nebraska they host Colorado on national TV and put on a show at least in the first half they did and they get the big win a bad day in the big house a let's chop it up Nebraska looking great for the entire first half against Colorado built a insurmountable lead and even though it got sloppy in the second half they get a big win over Coach Prime Dion Sanders and Company what an embarrassment today for Mich Michigan against Texas the Longhorns are for real and Michigan no longer is meanwhile we'll get to all of the action today on a very long day of big 10 action today lot of excitement lot of things to talk about and then we'll take a our first peek at week three on what's uh on board for next weekend so Colorado and Nebraska this series is going back to 1898 I mean just to start off the atmosphere at the beginning of this game the crowd 86 th000 people they were all amped up it was loud it was crazy uh Dion is out there with his gold headphones on and on the sideline and everything and everybody was ready for a Show Colorado started out just a couple of quick incomplete passes and a sack by the Nebraska defense overall Nebraska had five sacks tonight they were getting after it over that Colorado offensive line all night long then everybody came out to see Dylan Rola The Freshman quarterback for NE Nebraska his second career start his uh big game here against Colorado on national TV by the way he ran for a first down on that first third down it took a shot early on Dante Dowell the running back carried the load here tonight at a 12 yard touchdown on the opening drive he had 25 yards on that opening drive seven Place 49 yards evenly balanced right four uh four running plays three passing plays and Nebraska's up seven nothing just like that Colorado gets the ball uh you know they had that kickoff return specialist I was a little bit worried about him the first couple times he touched the ball John Hall had 63 yards got good field position but again shador Sanders sacked Again by Nebraska uh there was that fourth and one on the Nebraska 30 they got stuffed by the Nebraska D so they take over at the 32 yard line but they were forced to punt they got it all the way down to the two yard line so Colorado is way back and that's important to mention this because right after shador Sanders threw a pick six right there at the goal line and all of a sudden uh it was it was Tommy Hill who got in there and got into the endzone and all of a sudden Nebraska is up 14 nothing and those fans are beside themselves it was an incredible atmosphere there at Memorial Stadium Colorado gets the ball again again another sack uh you know and the thing was about Nebraska that was impressive they were getting to sh shador Sanders with four guys they weren't blitzing or doing anything fancy they were just getting to him they did a great job tonight uh that is something to hang your hat on further going through the season so all we're barely into the game Nebraska's got three sacks and they're up by two touchdowns over Colorado at this point of the game Colorado has a negative 27 yards rushing because in college football sacks take away yardage from your your running game but they weren't doing anything on the ground either um so anyway um that's how we go into the second quarter remember uh Colorado had taken over on a drive on the 20 yard line but another sack Jamari Butler getting in there Colorado gets off a punt sets Nebraska back to the 14 yd line but the offensive line for Nebraska at this point I started off by talking about the defensive line of Nebraska now let's talk about the offensive line because they were just pushing Colorado backward Dylan Rola had a 36-yard pass it was across his body and Jaylen Lloyd came back to catch it the one year one yard line everything was going Nebraska's way and then dowall punched it in with a one yard touchdown and that capped off a nine playay 86 yd drive that took almost five minutes all of a sudden it's 21 to nothing Nebraska and we still had six minutes and change to go in the half uh then Colorado finally got something going they attempted a field goal that was blocked literally nothing was going Colorado's way that was their best Drive of the game at that point so still 21 to nothing both teams exchanging punts and it looks like that's how we're going to go into the locker room Nebraska's back at its 30 yard line uh Isaiah ner took a targeting to the Head made a catch uh at this point in the game Nebraska still balanced 16 runs 16 passes perfectly balanced attack uh and then there was the moment where rayola throw the uh the bad pass it looked like it was going to be picked off by Levante Bentley I mean he had it it was interception but then he bobbled it and ramir Johnson just picked it up and went grabbed it basically walked into the end zone for 18 yards for another Nebraska touchdown all the breaks continue to go Nebraska's way quick three play 70 yard Drive 40 seconds to go in the half that's how we go into um the locker room we learned uh so 28 to nothing at that point we learned that Shiloh Sanders um he's the other Sanders kid shador is the quarterback shilo's the defensive back unfortunately looked like he broke his arm in that and so he was done for the day uh we come out into the second half and I must say Nebraska did not keep its intensity up they had a lot of penalties on the night 12 13 penalties I lost track after a while and uh they didn't score in the second half but the lead was so big and the game was in hand Nebraska came out with the early field goal to make it 28-3 at that point uh Nebraska had a punt blocked by Colorado and then shador Sanders was able to hook up with um lante Wester for a 5 yard touchdown so they did get a touchdown the night to make a 28-10 capping off a six play 58 yard drive and basically it was run out the clock penalties back and forth no more scoring that was your final score but at the end of the day if you're in Nebraska and look it's it's hard it's hard to keep that kind of intensity going when you're up that big that early so I'm sure that's something that matter Rule's going to want to work on and um you know try to keep that intensity level going throughout the entire game and cut down on the penalties they had a couple of big plays break it for big yardage and even scores that were called back because they were Silly holding penalties some of them were weren't even necessary weren't even near the play so you got to clean that up but Nebraska is two and0 Husker nation is excited about it let us know what you think I'll get to some comments in just a little bit uh by the way couple went on to win a National Championship fast forward to 2024 where Texas visited the big house on Saturday afternoon and blew out Michigan so both teams were up here last year Texas is still up here Michigan is not that is clear if you were watching us live last Saturday or even early in the week on lockdown Big 10 you know we had some big concerns that Michigan struggled for three and a half quarters against Fresno State now they started to look more like themselves in the fourth quarter and got the win but they fallen off they are not the same that is the most honest assessment right now and they got problems in a lot of areas but 31 to2 was the final score the game wasn't even that close it's because Michigan got a late touchdown um Texas beat Michigan on the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball that used to never happen Texas stuffed the running game and suffocated the pass game Quinn ERS threw 246 yards at a couple of touchdowns and the longhorn offense did whatever it wanted against wink Martell's defense all day long Davis Warren started again for Michigan 22 of 33 on the day 20 yards one touchdown he did throw a couple interceptions including the one late uh the Alex orgy situation I mean he's barely a change of pace quarterback just like he was last year and and here's the problem Alex ory now when he comes into the game everybody in the stadium knows he's going to run the ball that that was the case today he had two carries for negative one yard Texas knew what was going on so Michigan's got a lot of work we're gonna focus on them on Monday's podcast Wolverine fans you can commiserate we'll kind of figure this out Monday's lockdown Big 10 podcast we almost had another embarrassment in the Big 10 on Saturday big 10's uh Penn State's uh home opener against Bowling Green now the nly Lions won that game 34-27 by the way that's where everything seemed to be going right Nicholas Singleton and KRON Allen both rushed for over 100 yards Tyler Warren caught eight balls for 146 yards we've been dying to have somebody do that for for Penn State this game should have been close but it was so what happened the defense was the problem they couldn't get off the field when they want to bowling Ken was 7 to 14 on third down uh Penn State had no answers for Harold Fon Jr and Malcolm Johnson Jr who combined for 19 catches at 218 yards and two touchdowns that can't happen that's not Elite defense that Penn State is used to not by any stretch so uh some problems some things to work out there at Penn State Iowa LED most of the day for the shawk trophy you know started off kind of fast even did five wide outs on one format I'm like this is Iowa football what are we doing but then it got into the usual mud of well not literally because it was a nice sunny day but it got kind of grinded to a halt there and Iowa was just kind of hanging on and keeping the lead a little bit and Iowa state was hanging on and then they got the 54 yard field goal five seconds to go and Iowa State wins 20 to9 and wasted a great day by Caleb Johnson who had 187 yards on the ground today Jay Higgins got an interception too congratulations to Michigan State 27 uh um they got a win today over Maryland 27-20 Jonathan Kim uh had a 37 yard field goal with one second to go it's 272 24 now you miss 2724 game the game was tied game-winning field goal one second to go Aiden Charles what an up and down day for him 363 yards three touchdowns but three interceptions Billy Edwards threw for a couple of touchdowns for Maryland and Ty Felton had 11 catches for 154 yards and the loss of a touchdown Glendon Miller had two interceptions the Washington Huskies beat Eastern Michigan 30-9 Will Rogers Through 261 yards and uh touch and four touchdowns that was after a slow start Jonah Coleman who was a very formidable running back ran 11 times for 104 yards Huskies had seven sacks Zack def had two and a half the Wisconsin Badgers Tyler Van djk Well he threw a touchdown pass it was chz Maly that really helped him out rushing for a couple of touchdowns Wisconsin beat South Dakota 27-3 elsewhere PJ Flex Golden Gophers they got their first win of the Season uh 48 to nothing as a matter of fact over Rhode Island okay a win is a win Max brosmer threw for 271 yards with two touchdowns in the win now he was a star at the FCS level last year at New Hampshire before before he transfer to Minnesota and they were taking on an FCS opponent today he was very good can he do it against FBS opponents and power four opponents Still Remains to be seen the Gopher defense held over Island to 135 total yards and hauled in three interceptions on the day it has been a tough eight days for akan they got pounded by Ohio State last week this week they got crushed by ruers 49- 17 I love talking about cman young guy last year's leading rusher in the Big 10 carried 27 times for a career-high 208 yards and three touchdowns in the win he's got 373 yards in two games so far aan ciak Manis threw for three touchdowns including a 58- y to Chris long saquon loyel had an interception and Ruckers now has a byee before taking out Virginia Tech Ohio state had a night game tonight cruise control against Western Michigan beat him 56 to nothing Jeremiah Smith at five catches for 119 yards at a touchdown in the at the half quinan jins rush for over 100 yards and two touchdowns and the game was such a blowout good move by Ryan day and Chip Kelly they put Julian San in there the young freshman Phenom quarterback and he scored his first career touchdown on a 55 yard touchdown pass so that was good the upset of the day 19th ranked Kansas went into Illinois and Illinois comes out with the win 2317 love the all orange uniforms by the way Xavier Scott had a pick six for the Eli uh they gave him a 13-10 lead miles Scott free safety had a nice interception down by a score um with about a minute to go to third that was a good Turning Point as well Illinois scored 10 points in the fourth quarter for the win so congratulations to Brett be and Company um Friday Night Lights we had Indiana case you missed it scored 77 points against Western Illinois 77 to3 Curtis Rook a couple of touchdown passes that was a scoring record for the hooers by the way they went scored 76 in 1901 they're at UCLA next week in the Rose pole they might look Indiana in the past I know who I know you gota look at the opponent Western Illinois probably the worst team in college football but in years past Indiana would have won that game like 35 to 20 now they win it 77 to3 I think they got a little something going there with Kurt cetti I'm going to be real curious to see how they do at UCLA and the Rose Bowl next week and then also Northwestern ah they they lost in double overtime to Duke at home you know it kind of looked like a Friday night High School game because they were small little Stadium their temporary Stadium on campus 15,000 people at night was a uh stiff breeze blowing in from Lake Michigan they lost the game they had the lead they lost the game 2620 was your final score there and then uh late at night of course as we're going live with this um I'm watching a couple other games Oregon was up 14 to10 over Boise and it looked like USC just underway up three nothing on Utah State so a lot of big action going on in the Big 10 we're gonna take a look there at Oregon's going to be upset and it's going to be a rockus crowd PR View A&M at Michigan State at 3:30 on the Big 10 Network good win by Michigan State today Minnesota good win they've got the Bata next it's at 3:30 on the Big 10 Network Saturday Washington state is at Washington another formal rivalry of the blown up Pack 12 again but that one's at Washington so it's a home game for the Huskies 3:30 on peacock Troy is at Iowa Iowa's gonna have to bounce back from that that big loss today a hurtful loss was a last second field goal but a loss is lost to your rival like that 4M on FS1 Indiana is at UCLA at the Rose bow uh Southern C just got a touchdown Quint and Joiner that'll put him up nine nothing over Utah State see we are live um UCLA uh and Indiana NBC Peacock that's the national game on NBC we will go live after that one again as I mentioned a minute ago I'm at Indiana grad this counts as a rose bow right I've never seen my school in the Rose Bowl Northern Illinois or Northern Iowa rather at Nebraska 7:30 on the Big 10 Network Eastern Illinois at Northwestern that's another the 7:30 game on Big 10 Network and Maryland is at Virginia at 800m Eastern that's on the
