dozens of Red Lobster restaurants in the US are shutting their doors with Rumblings of a bankruptcy now a reality the chains all youin deals ate into profits and caused a Cascade of problems here in Canada the fate of its more than two dozen locations remains unclear ctv's Heather Wright reports for decades Red Lobster has been a restaurant staple and a lobster fist but now its future uncertain as the company shutters nearly 50 locations in the United States amid reports it plans to file for bankruptcy protection at some point this [Music] month hi and welcome to Mrs cotton candy Starling life hello there my darlings I hope you're all doing well and having a lovely day thank you so so much for joining me here today I hope you're all doing well and I'm so happy you're here we're here to celebrate every moment big or small with our valued guests dear guests you may be aware that Red Lobster filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection we'd like to take a moment to explain what this means for our company and for you our valued guest for more than five decades Rock Red Lobster has been a part of your family's life we've been there for your celebrations big and small we may be the place that you first discovered Your Love of SE food or were you met the love of your life on a first date birthdays graduations anniversary and yes weddings we've been here for them all and Red Lobster is determined to be there for those moments for generations to come and that's why we filed and that's why we filed for chapter 11 Bank bankruptcy protection bankruptcy is a word that is often misunderstood filing for bankruptcy does not mean we are going out of business in fact it means just the opposite it's a legal process that allows us to make changes to our business and our cost structure so that Red Lobster can continue as a stronger company going forward as many of you know we recently made the tough decision to close a number of our restaurants the truth is some of the world's best beloved Brands like Delta and Herz have used this same process to protect their F Futures and their customers stood with them and rooted them on and because of that they emerged strong together we have a lot worth rooting for we've made we've made delicious high quality seafood accessible for Generations many of you tried lot many of you tried lobster for the first time at our restaurant we've brought you Lobster Fest and crabfest over the years and of course no no meal is complete without Cheddar Bay Biscuits we are here and ready to continue making memories with you join us dine with us us root for us together we can write a new chapter Red Lobster so my darlings we're at Red Lobster and it is Monday night so we're here for the well I'm here for the $25 the ultimate endless shrimp Monday deal and I know in the states it's like $20 so here it's 25 those are the ones those are the other Deals they have Tuesday snow crab legs Wednesday fish and chips dinner for two on Thursdays and then steak and shrimp on Fridays so my darlings I've got the shrimp Caesar to drink look it comes with the bean and that big shrimp on there so I got a Caesar salad here and of course Robert's eating the biscuits the famous biscuits and I got the salad so Robert's having um scallops with bacon Yum Yum Yum and cream of chowder soup I CH you and then this is the ultimate endless ship we get to pick three this chowder oh clam sorry clam chowder and this is the ultimate um endless shrimp on Mondays so I got to pick three so I picked the um shrimp Linguini garlic shrimp and then these little ones here are Walt's favorite shrimp so yes so I got some grilled shrimp there's six on here so I've had 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 31 shrimp I had for the ultimate endless shrim it's a little pasta with the pasta so that's kind of took but it was really it hasn't always been smooth sailing for Red Lobster in Canada it left the Quebec Market in 1997 due to financial losses and never attempted to open in places like British Colombia we reached out to Red Lobster for comment on these recent closures and have not heard back Heather ra CV news Toronto thank you so so much that's it um I hope you enjoyed and um remember what I always say believe in yourself I believe in you and you truly vocal far to the L for now and thank you all so so much for your love and support I truly appreciate each and every one of you and if you enjoyed the the video please give me a thumbs up and subscribe if you haven't yet I'd love to have you till next time T bye toodles [Music]
