THE LATEST HIT FOR THOSE IN THE BAND THAT ALREADY LOST GAS SERVICE. >>LESLEY: LAUREN POZEN LIVE WITH THE LATEST ON THIS SITUATION. >>REPORTER: LESLEY, THE CITY SAYS THIS IS A BIGGER CRISIS THAN RANCHO PALOS VERDES ITSELF. TONIGHT WE HAVE PEOPLE WITH NO IDEA WHERE THEY ARE GOING TO SLEEP OR WAKE UP IN THE MORNING. BUT OTHERS ARE SCRAMBLING TO FIND GENERATORS TO HAVE AT LEAST SOME POWER ON TO STAY IN THEIR HOMES. >> MY FOUNDATION IS DAMAGED. I'M IN THE PROCESS OF MOVING OUT AND HAVE NO IDEA WHERE I'M GOING. >>REPORTER: 140 HOMES IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD WHOSE GAS WAS SHUT OFF A MONTH AGO, NOW DON'T HAVE POWER. THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON WARNED RESIDENTS THIS COULD HAPPEN ON JULY 31. BUT AFTER A POWER LINE FELL EARLIER IN THE WEEK SPARKING A FIRE, THEY SAY THERE WAS NO OTHER OPTION. >> WE HAVE MADE THE VERY DIFFICULT DECISION TO DISCONNECT POWER AND DEFINITELY TO PREVENT THAT EQUIPMENT FROM IGNITING WILDFIRE. >>REPORTER: RESIDENTS WERE TOLD THE POWER SHUT OFF SATURDAY. >> EVERYBODY MUST ASSUME PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN RANCHO PALOS VERDES ARE INFINITELY WEALTHY. THAT'S NOT THE CASE. ESPECIALLY FOR ME. I LITERALLY DON'T KNOW WHERE I'M GOING. >>REPORTER: OTHERS ARE SCRAMBLING TO FIGURE OUT A WAY TO STAY INSIDE THEIR HOMES. >> I JUST CAME BACK FROM HOME DEPOT BUYING A FEW THINGS I N NEED. ORDERED A GENERATOR YESTERDAY FROM COSCO THAT'S GOING TO TAKE A FEW DAYS TO ARRIVE. >>REPORTER: THE SHERIFF SAYS THERE WILL BE EXTRA PATROLS WITH DRONES WATCHING FROM ABOVE TO MAKE SURE THE NEIGHBORHOOD STAYS SECURED. >> THEY ARE READY TO ARREST YOU. YOU'RE GOING TO GO TO JAIL IF YOU COME HERE TO STEAL ANYTHING. DO NOT THINK ABOUT IT. >>REPORTER: A SUPERVISOR SAYS THE COUNTY IS USING AN ADDITIONAL 5 MILLION TO HELP RESPOND TO THE DISASTER WHILE CONTINUING TO ASK FOR STATE AND FEDERAL HELP. >> YOU FIGURED IF THIS WAS AN EARTHQUAKE AND IT HAPPENED QUICKLY OR IF IT WAS A FIRE OR FLASH FLOOD, I FEEL LIKE WE MIGHT HAVE GOTTEN A DIFFERENT RESPONSE. >>REPORTER: RESIDENTS ARE WONDERING THE SAME THING AND CALLING ON GOVERNOR NEWSOM TO TAKE ACTION. >> PLEASE COME HELP US. WHY DO YOU THINK IT'S OKAY TO IGNORE US? WE HAVE LOST EVERYTHING, AND WE ARE NOT RICH. WE ARE WORKING PROFESSIONALS. >>REPORTER: GOVERNOR NEWSOM GOT UP SPEAKING WITH RESIDENTS AND SUPERVISORS ARE TOLD EVERYONE SHE IS ACTUALLY REACHED OUT TO THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE PERSONALLY AS RECENT AS YESTERDAY. THAT WOULD BE SATURDAY, ASKING IF THE GOVERNOR COULD COME DOWN HERE, TAKE A LOOK AT THE SITUATION FIRSTHAND, SEE IT WITH HIS OWN EYES AND MAYBE THAT WOULD REALLY HIT HOME THE POINT HERE THAT THEY NEED HELP. IN THE MEANTIME, THE CITY SAYS THEY ARE HELPING RESIDENTS THAT PURCHASED THREE GENERATORS TO HELP KEEP THE SEWER SYSTEM GO GOING. THE CITY INSTALLED THEM YESTERDAY, AND THEY ARE ALSO TELLING EVERYONE THAT THE BIG MESSAGE THEY WANT EVERYONE TO HEAR IS THAT THEY WANT YOU TO BE READY TO LEAVE ANY TIME BECAUSE
