so much for blessing of your time and as always say when you come on your ads everyone loves your views and all things Spurs so thank you so much mate for coming back on thanks for having me I thought for the first time ever I would wear some Spurs gear because normally I'm massively outnumbered in my pajamas or something and Lee is normally full kit so I've gone retro because that's last time Spurs signed a player they wearing this hit so in memory of that fantastic guys leave us on a high how we gonna go tonight boys that's how we're gonna go I W up our panel love to have this guy back on always a pleasure George B on always a busy time for George during these times of the window George thank you so much mate how are you yeah great it's great to be back I was feeling a bit rough this evening but as soon as we went live for all those all those symptoms disappeared especially with this this gorgeous panel we've got this evening we see I seem to be attending every time I am with with Adam and Ricky so it's it's an absolute pleasure um you call me a regular guest Rick I'm not sure I quite qualify for uh for that these days but it's great it's great to be back on looking forward to getting to it we're going to try Geor I think for the I don't want to kill you off you haven't been regular I mean iose that's why you're still smiling probably much is it probably why you're still smiling I tell you we haven't started about Newcastle yet that's where the smiles might become a bit more frowny but we'll see how we'll get on um look we are closing in now on the final 24 hours of Tottenham hot Spurs summer transfer window of course many opinions lots of debates lots of feelings about the work Spurs have done some of the work they maybe haven't done during this transfer window but a reminder it does slam shut that deadline in the UK 11: PM UK Tom on Friday to complete any remaining deals Spurs have been busy depending on what you turn busy over the summer finalizing deals with Johan Langer behind the scenes Spurs of secure the signings of Archie gray Lucas bergal Yan minck Dominic sanki Wilson odar and of course reinitiating the loan of Timo verer it means six players have signed for Spurs this summer and look there'll be hope that they still uh as the kid say a bomber on its way between now at the end of the tra window but very very good friend of the show Paul o keer said just to give any this a context bar and a miracle Spurs are pretty much done I think we know that really in terms of what next 24 hours hold it will be a case of trying to find moves for Sergio regulon and juine LEL so as we come into like I say the very very end of the summer transfer window ads you said before the start of the show you're gonna be ranty that's what you told us that was the punch shot you said word ranty why you gonna be ranty what have you made of the window for you in general um it's been massively underwhelming I think you know there's no I don't I don't think you can sugarcoat it I think you can you can put up that nice little picture that you put up of the sort of six players but you know the the the the South Korean kids you know it's irrelevant um you know I I I came on the show I think I was on the show right at the beginning of the window or back end of the summer the beginning of the summer and I said you know the the last sort of Two and a bit years have been good in terms of our signings we've bought and especially last summer we improved our team the January we bought benting her and keski we improved our starting 11 and I said that we needed to really find a number six a striker and ideally a Winger that would be your perfect you know that would be your perfect window we've bought a striker you know and so so we've we've marginally improved our starting 11 potentially the jury is out on sanki you know I'm not going to say either way I'm pleased we got him I'm pleased he was a number nine it seems like an wanted him but outside of that it's like the same again and as much as I like the look of um gray and bergvall on you know on Sunday it's great bringing them on at 4-0 and and I thought they sort of came on and looked relatively decent against Leicester and then I sort of sat there and thought well you know we got Newcastle away the weekend and then Arsenal if we're losing those games you know St James's Park is not a nice place to go if they come on are they really gonna change the game are they really gonna and that for me is the worry um that the new boy o odard OD everyone was getting very I can't believe on this show I'm the one correcting people about idea I call yeah you know I like I like the look of everyone was getting very very very excited on Twitter about him because he was directing his running but you know I'm old enough to have seen the debut of Mido Stefan dalat um reg on putting a cross on his debut and everyone thought everyone was thinking my God Real Madrid are gonna you know claw him back for 25 million Berg Ryan I saw his debut and we've seen how how everything's gone I thought he did okay to be honest with you um he was direct but he didn't really put the ball in Paul Bates is watching and he's just told me I love you I love you too Paul you need to update your picture there because you've got hair in it you don't have hair anymore yeah I love it I love when Adam comes on he talks off off the time to the audience he even you know yeah so so that's I think it's been underwhelming you know I think I think it's been underwhelming and I I don't bergville look top quality young player no doubt about it gray has got a lot of potential I think you said to us in in in in in the pre view have we done enough to challenge Liverpool Arsenal and Chelsea and no we haven't you know we were way off from last season and I don't think we're much closer to them this season you know if we keep everyone fully fit maybe I think the key thing as well Ed uh bring Ricks into this show is that I mean I suppose it goes back to what the Spurs want to be if they're a club that are again are you know in the midst of a project once again and we are you know two or three thingss away from challenging and we're just trying to bring a young CR through maybe would maybe someone would accept this as a deemable fair window but I think again the problem is at times Rick's that as you know um we've got players coming out the likes of Romero and vaner suggest they want to win trophies which again as Spurs fans we want to hear that we love to hear that as we know it's been far far too long without a trophy that's certainly for sure then you had an polu come out and say that in the second season that normally tends to win things I think that's where again it can sometimes Cloud the fan base as to well hold on what is the goal here are we building a squad for the future which is not meant to win right now but is going to be part of an evolution a process over the next two or three years or are we set up a squad to genuinely challenge for this season because when you hear from an POA cogo doesn't want to be second doesn't want to be third doesn't want be fourth wants to be number one so I suppose question to you Rick is from the business Spurs have done this window what do you feel Spurs are aiming and looking to be in your eyes this season oh that's a tough question bro I mean that's a tough question but you know I think the first thing is that they wanted to recycle this squad they wanted to start a new and and on a fresh basis so if you look at a lot of the outgoings um you know perisic Dia you know theyve they've done we've we've done a whole shift Hugo lce we've done a whole shift of players and the the bulk of our new look Squad was done last year now uh alongside what Adam was saying there there was a lot that I was agreeing with because you know that's every the positions that we were after to strengthen the the the first Squad that we already had we identified as fans and it was put out there a little bit but Striker Winger number six so they've gone to buy a striker they've gone to buy a first team Striker you know they've spent money on him you know up to 65 million now would would he have been any of the fans choices when it first come up probably not but if he is the guy that the boss wanted and the club have backed him and gone to that price to bring in a play player in a specialized position you know um you've got the English taxs as well um there's a lot going on there but they they they trusted the boss and the stats and the data analysis to go and pay that amount of money and bring him into the club I think that's a positive you know when it comes down to the tricky Winger now you know uh desire I know you've got his name it was d right there too yes there that one right so so he was another young one that looks super exciting super dribbly Pacey direct and we were after these types of players um you know we're brought in other be now we we don't know if if the whole e thing and I said this at the start of before the even on here he said this on here yeah which was the the the player that we're linked with most we're probably not going to get because it happens every single summer the player that we're linked with most we're probably not going to get it might be a smoke screen or it might be p talk or it might be agent talk or it might be you know just trying to kind of generate a move for him or money or whatever the case may be you know so okay cool you know at this present time e hasn't happened it would have been very exciting for us as fans to have a another statement signing in that particular point but okay cool we've gone with a young one with high potential but somebody that want that does the job that an wants okay now the six this is where I came into it I was like what's happening with the six because obviously our our defensive we play such a high defensive line that we could see as fans last season that that they needed somebody to be in that screening that screening that back line and Screen them right and that hasn't come in but they've spent 40 million on Archie gray who can is almost and I don't want to kind of put a d on him but he's almost the new Emerson Royale in the sense that he will now he's going to be able to play center mid right back you know and and the boss has put out about him playing Center back as well potentially so he's come in as that number six so the six has then gone out the window now the glaring glaring and worrying hole that I feel that is in the squad and a lot of fans feel too is that left Center back stroke that left back uh position we saw what a different side we was without um vaner ven there and then without your doggy there you know totally different side I don't know whether the thinking is they're going to try and get Spence to play both sides but at the same time I would like one of them if not somebody who can cover both positions but at least one of those to come in to help this squad move forward and I I mean I know Paul Kee he is like he's normally bang on the money do you know what I mean whatever he says so you know I I trust what you're saying but I don't know how we can go into the season allowing um you know to be short in two areas where we we know we had problems last year I don't know how you can allow that to go on I think we've refreshed this squad I think that this squad is about growth and I don't think while learning that you can't win something along the way there is an exuberance about youth if you look at someone like the youngster at in the Euros you know Yin Lal who just kind of took the Euros by storm and that and that um Spanish Squad so we don't know what's going to come from those young ones but I'm glad that we picked them up because any top side they they they you know turned down a lot of top sides to come to us and they're of a high level and they could push us forward in the coming Seasons right but we don't know what we're going to get from we might have a poor game a couple of poor touches and then we might have a phenomenal game this year and that's the risk that we take when we bring those in but it's the left Center back left back area that that is the worry for me it's it kind of leaves our Squad incomplete and it's it's that same old argument that we're always one or two short do you know what I mean why would we that to ourselves it's interesting George bringing you a couple minutes there to listen to the boys um you know what this is not a disrespectful way I thought I'm going to bring in one of the really fair balanced shows and panel to this one because I think when you look at it from the outside looking in I'll that go we're getting a bit feedback there on George's mic you got to say George uh I'm off mute but apologies if you were getting something from me there Rick I'm happy to come in now just to chime in actually on on Ricky's point take it take it away um yeah Rick you made you made a really good point there about learning but winning on the way um and I think that's that's always been it's always been a Spurs way really as in trying to punch above their weight uh in order to be successful um especially under sort of The enic Branding that we've had for for such a long period of time I think the the aspect for this window and how how I'm seeing the club now as I compared to what I did maybe two years ago on the the higher wage bills that we had um sort of under when you had thees D parasites end on B on the books uh and who we've replaced them with now playerwise and the lower aspect of the wages that they're on uh is a real Stark difference uh it's a massive change for the club in regards to the salaries paid especially with the youth we're bringing in um and I think it's I read something or I got sent a message earlier this week about how our wag is as per capita is like under 40% or going towards under 40% uh I think the average for for a top top side in the Premier League is closer to sort of 45 50% uh and it's for the first time dipping out of that so it's a complete model shift uh and that also contributes to valuation in a club sense when you're looking to gain investment elsewhere now I wonder if this is part of a larger picture this recruitment drive and the way we're attacking youth in the market rather than going for these high level high value signings um to look at on an optimistic and potential view for what might change in in the en are in the next two years might be to guide in the sense that there is there is going to be a change in ownership or change in the structure of the ownership in the short in the short term um which we might see to come come to fruition and that is why we're acting as we are in the current market and spreading these lower value lower wage signings over a number of Windows refreshing the squad in Angie's image um in a much more structured manner in a datadriven sense that we are doing um and we're changing the image of the club publicly and internally as well so I'm really I'm really Keen to um this is this is a bad window for preparation for this season I'm not going to beat about that bush for in any way shape or form fact we're short in is that how you describe it Joel Just to be clear you you determin as that a bad window that would be your words a bad window a bad window and a missed opportunity I think uh I think could have we could have still we could have still adopted the same structure of incomings and and field cover in the positions that we needed to I think it's I think there's been a shortterm or short maybe a shortterm sort of bull drop this this summer um given the changes that we might see going into the season with potential Financial fair play um permutations for a number of clubs in the league uh and what could potentially be an opportunity for Tottenham um to slide into those to slide into those gaps if and when those permutations occur and I think certainly for for availability sense I mean we we've let a center back a young Center back go on Loan in Phillips this summer for me we're short at Center back but we're adopting a youthful model would it not have been prudent maybe to have looked at that and gone you know what actually if if vaner and doy both get injured Davis can't cover both of those both of those positions you then asking Spence a right-footed right back to play left back orbe it to a good enough level where he's comfortable but it's certainly not going to be at a level where you're matching the likes of Arsenal Chelsea Liverpool who have plenty of round pegs in round holes you're asking players to again bat above their weight punch above their weight in a system that demands so much of you positionally and tactically you're going to get unstuck and at the end of the day it's it becomes a time where you actually you look at yourself and you go you know what actually maybe we did miss an opportunity there and you go back to square one when you go into summer 2025 and go right we've now got to fix all these problems we had in 2425 again with a youthful Squad who yes are learning but you're off you're asking players to do an awful lot for for the bang for their buck so yeah bad window is strong wording missed opportunity perhaps more more accurate wording for my opinion but um it's yeah we're asking a lot of an in the squad for for this season especially with Europe again I suppose the biggest thing of all as come over you is I mean the key thing here is is the manager happy because I mean we've seen it sever many times with Spurs where we bring players in and they haven't always been with the maner once but it sounds like again from what we're hearing from an Posta cogo he is the man ad that signs off in all these transfers and would not say yes if he didn't think they're right so are we of the of understanding that an poao is happy with what Spurs have done this window what do you get your feeling on that yeah I just want to take a step back I mean George makes a load of really interesting points actually and sorry so so Rick in just just sort of listening just think about a few things I think just if if we take a little bit of a step back I think was reading the comments everyone's a bit like sort of saying it's bit moany and negative but I think I think I think we've had an underwhelming window and but again if you look at it City haven't signed anyone um Liverpool have signed one player today Arsenal have signed a couple bar Chelsea who signed 57 players that you know it it it has been a little bit tighter across the board and I suppose the thing for me and I think George made a really good point about the missed opportunity and I understand the point about youth is we've actually spent a lot of money we've actually spent 140 150 million something like that we've spent a lot of money as Ricky said on a striker that by all accounts an signs off everything and he was very strong on the fact he wanted sanki so I'm I'm absolutely fine with if he wanted blank and he was his guy then fine no problem and we've paid the 65 million fine we spent 40 million on a young 18yar old kid with huge potential that's a massive outlay and then we're clearly showing ambition in the in in this youngstar but you know I think you know George's points are really interesting if that's how we're going for the future but you know you look at you you know some of the players we've bought you know your bentina y Kazi basuma Madison you know they're all relatively youngish players van deren for decent money that improved the team so you could have done that again um and and I think you know there is that that missed opportunity because I think over the past two years it's felt you know last season we got the right players in at the right time that that we wanted to and it felt like we were improving the team and we' moved away from this punting on PE people who might be good and then it's like as you say like you we're in this situation where we were really good last season for a period of time starting the season for the first 10 games and then it all fell away with injuries suspensions and so on and we didn't might quite have the depth it may be that an is actually very happy to shift out these players and he may see Spence as an upgrade on Emerson and Ben Davis at right and left back he might be happy with that because my view from people I know relatively close to the situation was Spence was an absolute dead man walking you know a period ago so the fact that he's brought into back in yeah for me shows actually and might well have said you know what I'm okay with that and he might be happy having a fully fit Benton CT a basuma AAR a gray as those Central midfields over Hyer coming on and Skip he he might he might be actually do you know what I've got Benton CIT and I've got um gray I I think personally that as in an that they're an upgrade on H and Skip he may think that I don't know I don't know yeah if he's being honest with yourself there's no way he's GNA be sitting again this is perfect than what I wanted because he would have wanted to improve the starting 11 no no Spurs just F that and I think and I think I think that's the reality I think you know do I think the squad overall now and I look at the squad and the bench do I think it's better last season than last season I do actually because I do think we've got you know bet better players with bervar with um you know a couple of the other guys with bent and kfit and so on but do I think how starting 11 is stronger I don't know I don't know and with slanky already injured you're like okay it's the same team again as last season which was very good for a appears and they could smash out the park again My worry is it's going to be the same are we going to make the same mistakes the back end of last season and getting exposed with the same players I mean also the key thing is R come over to you obviously that we're now in a situation where we're relying once again on having not a lot of injuries to be able to then try and gain a run consistently because I think that's the one thing Rick that we've all touched upon definitely on this show as you know as well that when you've got the first 11 fit first 12 13 players it's not a bad 12 13 players that will get you through games problem is you take out a lot of the spine that team the lights of a vaner then deras Romero you know we lose a b and Cy Midfield and obviously sanki like we're doing now it does really affect the team and they haven't got you'd say the options there that can come in and be as good as what those personel can be so is that yet another worry Rick again that we're playing probably with no disrespect 30 40% more games this season please go we take on the cups and we go and far and progress them and we've got the Thursday to Sunday as well to deal with the Europa League how you feeling about that Rick with the general Squad we've got is it enough manageable with those extra games in there for you for for me it's like I know we've bought a lot of young ones in and and let's remember that we bought Lucas in January and he's arrived now we haven't bought him this year all right we haven't bought him this Summer window we bought him in um January and he's and he's arrived now exactly what Adam was saying there about the seniors the seniors that are already there they are going to be the ones that are the experienced lot you know Sonny Romero uh benen Kulu like these players that were there and they've been embedded and they've had a year under an they become the experienced players right now this is the the the idea that I'm trying to see what an is doing then he's brought in youth to bring in almost like unpredictability and you know SP spontaneity from from players right so like I said we're going to get fantastic performances and then we're going to get in the middle performances as they grow into totally toally but that but that can be that that that can be exciting and I can go for it because I I always like a young one in a sense of like you just don't know what you're G to get there's so much potential there's so much hope you're like if they can build on this and they can build on that then they could be this you know and having that type of excitement I I I kind of enjoy right but this is what I'm saying the most worrying glaring thing going into this this this season and with Europe and with Cup games and with the ambition that not only the boys are speaking about right but the boss is speaking about so that that transfers to the fans that we leave ourselves in a position where exactly what Adam was saying there left Center back left back if one of those go out you know what I mean we're already scratching our heads right great we've got drag Us in right so there's there's half a rumor because Mickey vaner wasn't featured in the training videos that he might be out okay so so it's already gone crazy on X it's already gone crazy all right cool we we we'll bring would it really of but of course right so we can bring in dragas alongside and a lot of us are kind of happy with that right but then what happens if we have one of those anomaly games where everything happens at the same time like that Chelsea game we got two free injuries we got two sent off do you know what I mean like there was the whole team the whole spine the whole everything that got decimated right in that in that moment and to be fair to the boys that that came in they gave their best and they tried to keep it going Romero Davies at Center back you know what I mean pairing like we were we were putting it together I just don't see why you would make why you would go into another season having having experienced that short in two very important areas great point you know I feel that Spence is far more effective on the right as a right back than he is as a left so when he goes on the left we we're accepting that he's not going to be at his best but he's going to give it his best right he's not going to be at his best we're not going to see the best Spence but he's going to give it everything and kind of go all right and cool but why would we do that you know so that's what baffles me yeah add one teeny teeny Point sorry please why would you do that be short and then whether you like them or not sell your only two defensive Midfield players as well you know we sold H and Skip they they're the two actual naturally most defensive players but I think as we know I hear you on that I just I totally agree with on that but it's been clearly toos to Cog that those two players do not fit the system but I will totally 100% agree with you on that point that you know I'm stunned Geor come over to you that Spurs didn't bring in a player like a gallager or like somebody of that profile that would be looking to run that Midfield as an engine and from what we only hear coming out of the club and coming back to us as a fan base is that they feel very confident in Archie gray that they've got a player that they've got really high potential in higher hopes that you know behind the scenes he's very much excelling I mean I suppose it goes back to that question I said earlier George you know what does spurs want to be if we're a club as you've touched upon earlier in your point that maybe we're looking for the next three four years to be part of a project then that's no problem but I think the problem is there there's a real miscommunication piece we're hearing an come out and say that in the second season we win things you know he's a man that doesn't want to hang around he wants to see Spurs being first not second third and fourth you've got players coming out and saying we want to win trophies I think that's where again you feel that's like disconnect where you're paying the highest ticket prices in the country and yet you look at the squad that we've got and you do feel as we've touched on the show in this happening half an hour we are two or three injuries away from again a team crumbling and which is a real real shame I mean I asked the boys the question George I'll ask you the same question how happy do you think an poao is with a bit of Spurs have done this window do you think in his mind he's got a better Squad at his disposal for this well obviously rest of the season to come I think yeah to even Echo Adams's point I think he probably looks at the squad we have now and sees it much more In His Image than he did last season naturally um whether whether it's at full capacity and can run Full Tilt that's obviously not the case right now at the moment um I do I do still think it leaves opportunity for excuses to be made um which is a which is a real shame and I I look at I take I take Arsenal squad for example their their their strongest 11 is is up there with up there with cities for for experience for for a youth blend uh for tactics Etc it's it's by far sort of top top two top three in the league outside of that I I I think they have a very similar issue to Tottenham they're just a few more years down the line in regards to the club being beded in tactical aspect uh experience of going for the League titles but I think think if if if one of Gabrielle and CBA get injured or both as we had with with vanen and Romero last season they they will have similar issues to ourselves Chelsea uh who knows what what they're going to do this year but I I think I honestly think Tottenham would have looked at the market this summer and and been quietly confident that there wouldn't be an awful lot of of big movement elsewhere um the frustration from where I stand is that Spurs had more of a means to do so than a lot of other clubs did yeah great great financially super so I think so I think as a foundational Point that's that's already rooted in a frustrational aspect for for fans who knew who had been given this not false promise but certainly a press rhetoric that had come out of Spurs having the means to spend this sort of money of which we did so to an extent yeah um but then we still fed them we still fed the line halfway through the window that we had to sell to then buy again so we there's two different narratives running here there's a sacrificial narrative where we're looking to cleanse the squad of the of the highest paid players in our Squad but also the narrative where actually we've got all these free funds at our disposal that we don't need to wait for that to happen and we can take the risk to grow the team in in Talent with each other so I think an being being the public face of the club will have to have to give a message of guarant of of almost guaranteed success as in we are ready to be competitive behind the scenes I'm sure they would have had very heat discussions about what what decisions were going to be made and when um as we understand the lanky move was was decided upon towards the end of June as as potentially the data driven aspect of the striker that an wanted being Premier League proven um as the there the most important aspect really especially for that sort of price level we were going for I think there's a reason that the likes of for example Ivan Tony is is still at brenford and perhaps about to move to Saudi yeah um for for about for about 20 25 million less there's there's naturally something besides obviously his past 12 months there's something there that a lot of clubs Arsenal included for example who who apparently the meeting he had with them didn't go particularly well who just aren taken the gamble on so that in in tottenham's point of view with him I mean I can completely understand why they went for it if if we were if we were coming into the season say we signed a center back but no Striker I think that the voices would be a lot louder um than they than they currently are the striker was imperative for an son just wasn't wasn't able to cut it for the season and especially with Euro I mean Sor slanky plays every game for Bournemouth last year and gets injured in his first match for us but that's um that's beside the point I think I think we had to make that move for the price level we did I think to be honest with you the data often doesn't lie with with signings if you're if you're signing if you're signing a player off data and data that's derived of five plus years of performance it's likely that that player is going to come good at your club and then the value unfortunately is the English tax that Ricky touched upon adds between 5 and 15% to player value anyway which is probably what Chelsea were thinking when they value Gallagher to us and then sold him for 15 million less to Athletico in the end but I think the same the same sort of storyline applies so yeah to answer the question Rick I think he will be more content now than he was 12 months ago but he's been quite open and honest in saying this is a multi- window thing and perhaps that sort of nurturing his narrative a little bit go Ricks yeah you you know what it was just like as you sitting at speaking Georg I was just thinking as well it's like you know we all have a an ideal signing right that could be great for Tottenham like even in the six position you know I would have loved yugar from PSG who's just signed for Man United tough tackling short passing he's a rockweiler of of a DM right and and I was like I would have thought that that would have been exactly what we needed but if you look at the way that Andre started this season and the the the little tweets that he's made within the squad you know even if it's something as simple as going from a kind of zonal marking to a hybrid of a zone or and a bit of a man marking there's things happening if you look at the rotations what was happening and who was the deepest in Midfield and and the way that they're overlapping and exchanging different positions and stuff like that I don't think that's what he wanted I don't think he wanted a tough Rock Wier of a midfielder I think he wants an energetic uh composed tackler who can drive the ball for the one big the biggest glaring problem with hyberg goes back to pre-season last year when we were playing Barcelo I think it was Barcelona sha at home was it don't stop stop playing stop kicking it out stop kicking the ball right right so so it was against Shak he kept doing long balls he kept he kept relieving the pressure and an went mental right and it was at that point that I knew however much I appreciate what hyberg brings to the team that he the one for an do you know what I mean so now he's got hopefully hopefully a rejuvenated and a refocused puma right who who it it might work out that he made the biggest mistake right at the right time to kind of wake and Shake him up and have him prove something if you saw the reaction not only of the way that he played with the with discipline and I know it was only for that one game but with discipline with the goal with the sorry to the fans to his teammates and to the manager trying to go up and get a cuddle as well this might be the shake wake and bake that we've needed to see from basuma to get his head in order because we all see he's got the ability and he could be a pivotal Diamond he could be the best number six that an wants in his in his system now to back that up as well we've got somebody who is a who is a bit of a like you know in tight spaces bentle in tight spaces great passer of the ball really good Vision then you've got Archie gray who could be the master of it all do you know what I mean given his growth and given how much game time he gets and given how much confidence he he he he kind of gains and and and the improvements of working alongside those other midfielders that are in that position like it we could really see a jump there so there are positives there you know and keski as well I think kesi had the he was the best in preseason I've said for a long time I thought Kulu was better in the in in the center as a number eight stroke number 10 he creates chaos in there and he's been doing that and maybe him coming into that system already having the an way in his head but coming into that that advanced eight stroke 10 alongside Madison that could be genius for us that that could be the reason why they didn't spend the money on E now I don't know of course I would have loved the sign in myself I'm just trying to find and trying to look at and kind of go all right cool what was you think here or what are you imagining here in in this in this instance and May and you know I always look to the positive so maybe if it all works out we've got it though I just wanted to give some positivity we need that we need it we need it I love people people are coming into the chat thinking what the hell is going on here I know just just the chat room thinking what is going on if if you took the chat in isolation of this show forget the show just look at the chat you would think we are fighting some for of relegation battle I mean it's it's like our Spurs fast lose our mind and lose our red what this fan back what this club's done to us over 20 years the schooling nature of it all and boys we have to got Newcastle in a second hope that'll be a bit more positive let's get a final round up then in terms of the window in terms of judgment and scores and what we're going to give it rick if it ends like this what do you give it out of 10 if it ends like this I would like to give it like a 6.5 stroke seven and I'll tell you why one is because they brought in the striker uh um but a lot of the outgoing we needed we needed them to go uh for a lot of different reasons whether that be wages attitude or like just just not right for the squad or or the way that we want to play right now and it's been one of the hardest things that we've had to tackle over the last couple of um transfer Windows is getting those players out on good wages you know what I mean some that just wanted to sit there and get paid which you're entitled to do but like you know some disruptors we we we've got two more that that technically from what we know uh the the club would wouldn't mind saying goodbye to in Reggie and and um who else is it Gio Gio Gio as well you know I I I think n has gone down to the last day that they're gonna be holding out for the bottom prices do you know what I mean like the clubs that are in for him they're going to try and get him as low as they can because it's you know deadline day but fingers crossed we've got a clean slate so I I give them a 6 6.57 for bringing in the striker cleaning the slates and bringing in two really good young talents you know uh for the future and for now yeah now listen thank you so much that Rick I say sometimes I laugh in the fear of what's going to be coming at this football club we've been doing this show for seven eight years and you just quite never know what's goingon to happen next you just never know what's GNA happen next which is why sometimes I laugh in the fear of what is going to be coming next on this show and suddenly me and R we going to get a cool singing he 10:00 at night right something's got to happen here we got we better get on and do this what's you know it rick you know it this is the same man that wore the suit for the Antonio Con in remember and the champag every time the sh on this show oh de and at of 10 what we say so far the window you've been fairly outspoken actually I think more than what I probably imagined you to be because um I've known you mate for a long long time you are fairly calm level-headed guy so I think when somebody like you comes on here as he not to influence anybody else can I just say and you are saying we've not done enough then that really hits it home for me because I mean in general for me I think I've been people might think I've been negative but I think I think it's hard to see what Spurs want to be I think that's goes back to my point that we do need that communication piece there you know if we understand this is Again part of a rebuild part of a project that we're in for five six years and okay then maybe you understand some of the signings if it's to win in the next year or two then I think that needs to be adjusted and aligned because I do look at what we've done so far this summer and I'm happy to be proven wrong always happy to be proven wrong but I don't think the likes of City Liverpool Arsenal are looking at what Spurs are doing right now thinking oh my God they are coming ad give me your thinging on the window ver it for you you're on mute go you're onute not blame him his not mine that's his Ricky muted me um not you not you yeah so look I think I think you know RI Ricky made a good point just now you know in terms of like the squad shape and I think if I look at the squad now compared to what two years ago and you look at all of the players that have gone out you know bar obviously Kane I don't think anyone's really bothered about any of the ones that have gone out I think if we're looking at the squad now overall compared to last year or the year before I think it's probably stronger and more complete I think in terms of as we say what I I I keep going back to this and I've spoken about it a lot since the January window where we signed benon Cur and keski we made generally really good signings nearly all of them have been good signings yeah all improve the team and we we just we we it's like we just at this point of like gone back to what we did before where we not we haven't quite done enough and you make a really great Point are our Rivals around us going to be thinking oh my God Spurs are going to be there no overall I'm struggling to get up to five I'd say in I'd say five you know we've bought a striker great but not great overall for me Utopia nine out nine out of 10 as I said you know beginning of the summer was Winger number six Striker we've done we've done one of those really well well we've done one of those key starter yeah someone just call me a happy Clapper gez you want to see me you want to see me when I'm not happy just com to a five out of 10 I happy he's got SC five out of 10 you think he'd be doing that he's Danel in his back pocket come on five out of 10 for a TR you crazy let's come to you man let's close this subject to the show G way over Bard on this of this topic it always GNA be overb this subject George what you going for mate you've been very honest in terms of maybe your feeling about the approach of Spurs this window maybe they are looking to more of a long-term view of a takeover there what's your feeling on it George him yeah I'm I'm not going to Buck the trend of of rates of what we what we've had from Ricky and Adam um between the FES and sixes is probably an accurate representation I I think just going back to the missed opportunity point that I raised that's really the governing aspect of of where I rate the window um and my personal opinion prior to it is what I I thought we might do which is more than what we have done so I think the how I'm going to rate the window is a disappoint end um but in know I suppose if you're going to look it in a perspective sense a building block but it won't make us competitive enough this season so do do you think Lads that we're missing the parii effect this year I think he's been a lot more distant we haven't had a lot of links with Italian clubs and you know those those player season the 10 players the 10 players linked at once rcks but get yeah I know he's Consulting but do you reckon Langer is almost like gone I've got this n job and kind of distance himself a little bit because we haven't really heard those links and that's what he was doing or since he took over like like you said there kesi Romero Benton Co you know like we was bringing in good players that that were that that had an effect on his first team so what do you think what do you think George for you on that point let's bring George on that George I mean like you've seen many windows at Spurs and I know again from from your perspective I think the way you like I say do talk about the window and G you've been on here you've been very honest about Spur's approach do you feel it's been a positive influence having youran Langer as part of that technical setup now I think in the restructuring aspect yes I think it's it's too it's far too early to tell it entirely depends on on on how the younger Lads that have come in this window perform um the data driven aspect is obviously his a lot of his brainchild and the team that he's built around him um alongside scotman uh effectively driving that the partii effect I think it's will be it's impossible to know naturally we're talking in hypotheticals um there's no there's no necessary guarantee that his targets or his negotiations would end up with signings um that's just sort of his branches that he had in Italy and how he was able to get sort of dirty deals out of out of various clubs at various points and it actually ended up benefiting us down the line but he may have he may have missed shot at some point and ended up costing us more than it was due so I I don't know Ricky I mean it's we've We've Ended up reaping the benefit of him unfortunately he he sort of spread his hands slightly too far on on a couple of pies and things and uh he's he's now buy and buy I think as far as I understand it he's got a non-direct connection still with with Levy but uh in far as an overreaching influence on our transfers that doesn't exist anymore um but yeah would I don't think we can look at that and gone our window would have been a 910 if Pari was still in the seat I think that would that would perhaps be some dreamy thinking we we also signed you know Vicario van Deen Dragon Madison last season and as well as an that they were all massively influenced including the manager by data so you know all of them including the manager yeah but you know it's interesting those points you make there a lot of it not all of those that you mentioned that individuals were part of the base aspect to an element to which I think is why again you saw a lot of excitement around the potential signing E rich because again he's a base client and the fact that I think it was wildely reported he was at spurs in a box last season um and to be fair on this point had a number of journalists that have been on the show and they've been fantastic I think the key is that as they've all said um they weren't really expecting Eber rich as to move this window what I feel is clear from really the again seeing Angel these last couple years is that he's not really one for Marky statement signings I think he's one that likes players that have got a real Point approve the likes of sanki the liks of araria the liks of Ven and and I think again it's it is important also to bear in mind the fact I see obviously again that aspect to it just bring a bit of balance to the show it took Arsenal four years to get to where they've got to now so it wasn't all done overnight but at the same time I think again you it's when you put into perspective the fact that Spurs as a fan base where're spending some of the highest ticket prices in the country to go and watch them every single week I think that's where it goes back to a cable what is the ambition of the club and I think again that's why it's very hard to judge a window or give a rating until you really know what the Club want to be what do we want to be do we want to be a club that's in around the top four because that's normally what the manager is judging upon why they're sack let's be having it let's be true about that or are we a club that is genuinely trying to compete with the likes of City Liverpool Arsenal and trying to narrow that a gap and it goes back to that point I said with no disrespect to the business Spurs have done this window I don't think the likes of City Arsenal Liverpool are looking at Spurs feeling my God totam are coming right now maybe a year or so but maybe not now yeah Ian I think I think there are two just listening I think there are you know can flipflop behind I go back to being a happy club that I was called before but I think again I think I think it depends on what Spurs you get if if you get the Spurs of the first 10 games of the Season that were a well-oiled machine and that is there in this squad and all of the younger players a year further on a lot of them had only been there a year in this team and they all improved because people always say you know oh we haven't improved the team but players improve as well players get they develop they get better to agree yeah so you can't so I think you know if we can get that team back then I think we absolutely are a threat because we were a threat to everybody we played yeah yeah my worry my concern is the will we found out a bit the back end of the season or not I'm not quite sure and I think that for me is sort of the unknown yeah um I had another point to make but I have forgotten and it was quite a good point actually listen I'll let you come back that point one point I make about the window in general is that I think when you look at the age profiles Spurs PA are trying to sign I think they signed players that I think on average were around 21 years old 21.8 was the data stat and I think when you look at the graphic this is for our listeners that are watching the show live on um YouTube but for those on audio I'm just a SP a graphic by the wonderful Rob Daly of course that was at the ground at the weekend this graphic shows that essentially you've only got vaner and Romero in spurs' half and everybody else is in the Everton half attacking in what I believe to be the second half of the game and I think what is key about this image that I'm Shing here is that it's sometimes very very hard to ask nine 10 players to really buy into a concept that you are going to be playing such a high line which goes back to the point Rick's made at the start of the show to really show that willingness that belief that desire that you can play such a game like that and not get caught and I think the key is when you look at what supp have done over the window they brought a young young young players which the key of young players is they're Fearless they'll run for you they'll give everything and probably won't question as much and I do Wonder with the players like the Hoy beers of this world and the players supp have let go the parage of this world were they questioning more about the way Spurs want to play under an po Cog I think that's a really key point to really think about there ad if you want to come back in on that because I look at what we've done I think a lot of that is trying to bring that Squad down to a younger profile and age that will definitely give the manager the legs for what he wants to do with the squad because I do feel like when you look at the back end of last season the options that he had maybe that's a key to it the liks of gray Berger they're younger they'll give you legs the same as S as well and I think maybe that's a key point to bring into the fact that white Spurs have done their business in the age profile they have done ad yeah and I think you know you there are two good examples of that I think Arsenal are a good example of that and I think Spurs and Pino were an example of that when you ship out the Deadwood that are maybe a bit problematic or aren't bought into to what the manager wants and you bring in younger hungrier players it improves you instantly it everybody then Buys in it makes training a bit more intense it makes everybody a bit more focused it makes everybody a bit more together and that transforms onto the pitch with a bit with a bit more so that that that actually I I actually believe in that quite a lot what I was going to say before it's just to go back to the eay thing sorry I I um I I hate conversations about we should sign him I wanted to sign him it's like I don't really no I don't care who anybody body wants to sign because it's not got anything to do with me but with e as an example I think I didn't realize he's actually quite old not old he's 28 I think he's got quite bad hamstrings and I think Palace wanted possibly 50 million up front you know so when you look at that that is an unattractive deal for any club because again you go to like the Ivan Tony one he's still there E's still there no one's gone in for E because people have probably thought you're going to sign him a four year deal lump up 50 million up front up front out your pocket no resale value on him if you sign him for four years at 32 and hamstrings are going to get worse that that that's that is a big gamble and I can see why you might walk away from that but I think the youth team I I I do think there's a lot in there because I think Arsenal arteta did that he transformed that when he got that rubbish out and brought man and poino did at Spurs so I do think there is that element there and I and I hope that we do have much more of that buy in and and and you know with the younger players and we might see that youthfulness my my biggest fear is still the number six you know Ricky s of champion just it's going to be the new basuma and so on I hope it is I still worry because when you just showed that screen of of of of you know those players I'm sitting there thinking I don't want to be set up like that against Arsenal and we set up like that away to Newcastle which we're going to come on to in a minute like that last season we got pumped and that's the bit that Wes me against good teams yeah list we shall see we're GNA end the transfer window seg there wasn't it it was a good segue there seg was a great segue we are going to go for our first break of the show that should have probably happened about 45 minutes ago it's always the one last one of Spurs nearly four 4,000 of you are watching us live got to say again incredible support for last one of Spurs you guys are amazing we love you we do we dra a wonderful Ricky J nor back back back back cups are coming soon rck is ready strap in you know what's coming rck you know what's coming um we got Adam asper over at sports Finance join us on the brilliant George ban back on the show on cups a reminder Spurs of course are in the draw for the Europa League which takes place on Friday so keep an eye on that and obviously the team Spurs may possibly draw we'll be bringing that obviously of course to you tomorrow and where obviously Spurs do end up and how that does work out of course but different way that draw has being done this year so yeah keep an eye on obviously all things that and again um Spurs in the cups as we said they have drawn commentary City away in the League Cup no I'm not terrified yes I bloody am I am absolutely [ __ ] myself I'm not gonna lie and I've got Jason MCG going to me cometry city they're not real Madrid Rick we can't even be CEST I went I I went when we lost 40 away to centry Once Lee MC at Center back oh you know centry City you know never even like I say remember back in the 90s that was never an easy game for Spurs commentary I remember Darren hakabe just absolutely haunting me hakabe that might yeah that might been went I went Boxing Day 12 o'clock lunch once it was nil nil pouring with rain and I sat like in like Row three like with no shelter absolutely horrific I play the kids against Co just rookie don't you dare play the kids against Co just for rookie I would say for me you you guys know that watching L the show religiously that for me you know game-wise I say all the time most important games of the Season Arsenal home Arsenal away and the cup games for me every time we go out a cup I'm absolutely devastated so caribo cup is so high off up our list and I think it should be we've been so long without a trophy so keep an eye on the cups and what Spurs do whether you C on last one on Spurs right we have got to look ahead to Newcastle United now you would have heard for listen audio there the wonderful Matt catch um friend of mine who was at my wedding bless his art big big Newcastle fan um they're actually I think going into this game of a little bit of concern because it's been a again not to re back to the transfer window I think the Newcastle has not been the window maybe they hoped for and wanted I mean they're going into the final day of the window am and Ain are they gonna get Mark gah are they not gonna get Mark gayy um that price we've seen with Spurs before seems to be going up by the day I think they're looking at now 75 million it will cost them secure him on the final day so Newcastle are running around for a a center back um but I know look for those that are adoring and watching Arsenal Spurs week upon week this is not a easy game it's obviously the start of a double header to come for Spurs that will be a real test for an POA cogo in his Spurs side to see if they really genuinely learn from last season and are they going to show the character and the mentality the belief that there might be times in this game there your hate to remind you through last season the adversity where they're going to have to show some real character and belief to come for it none than Mickey vaner then bless him we didn't have the greatest day at the office as you remember against esack and we hope of course there'll be a reversal on that this coming Sunday boys what's the general feeling about the upcoming two fixures for Spurs Newcastle is never an easy game away from home there was a p for Spurs that and George is again agreeing with that and shaking his head that I think Newcastle away Spurs didn't have a terrible record there favorably but George what's the feeling going in before we go into Newcastle the double header how big do you look upon the next two games for you in the course of spursy season the way I the way I I frame it like that is that I feel with the fan base um that the some that are absolutely un rightly 100% behind an Pogo and all that he's doing they can 100% see and believe in the long-term project there are some fans out that I think still need to be convinced that we are still 100% on the right track that we've learned from last season around the set pieces again the adversity we go back to that that when the team are struggling can they conjure up find a way to swallow that and come back and deal with that what's your feeling about how big these next two games are in spursy season yeah they are big I I look at they are big Rick but I look at how early we are in the season I think it's it's difficult for for these two games to maybe gauge how the season's going to be in May um I think to to separate the two Arsenal Arsenal at home is I mean last season was was chaos and it will be probably the same way again it's it's an anything goes game shoots out um my main concern is actually this weekend to be honest um I don't think Newcastle have a massive amount of head of steem certainly certainly not the same that they did last season when we went up there um I I do think as as Adam touched upon we went into that slightly naively um and just got just got picked off the park we didn't learn any lessons from the season before we got TR 61 um and I think we made we made a lot of mistakes that game which I think we probably learned from quite quickly um but they I'm I'm confident in the sense that they don't have the same they don't have the same confidence and form that they did going into that I think they got a couple of injuries and niggles as well um tali's only obviously just coming back for them to in the middle of the park but we need to be much more mature in our performance there than we have been recently um I think it's it's such a unique place to go uh against such a unique team I say they're not in formed but they play with a lot of energy at home no matter who they play against yeah and it's difficult it's difficult to play you say you don't want to you see us playing that way R against Arsenal with the massive High Line I would put Newcastle in that exact same bracket uh playing playing at their place and certainly the pace they have in behind um I am I am concerned but I I want to give the glads and an an opportunity for them to show me that they have leared and they know how to play these different atmospheres and the different games that they need to there not a one-size fits all tactical approach um that we can afford to play um so it's going to be a really good gauge of how we are differently and the different tactics they've adopted to last season both offensively and defensively I think it was really interesting to see the the changes that we made uh against Everton in the sense that it wasn't always about going down the wings cutting it back crosses low crosses into the box there was some variance um in overloading sort of the various aspects of the pitch certainly from from my vantage point in the ground was really interesting to see the deeper line basuma for most of the game was sat sort of within our center circle area only ventured forward as and when the opportunity arose but yeah in the image exactly you can see there there was a lot there was a lot more of an anchor role for him across the back two or three depending on how lopsided we are in our attacking approach um which we didn't have last season it was all gung-ho and pretty much load the Box loow crosses in the Box force it out wide go again um and I think that was actually a stereotype of of Andre's second season at Celtic as well um the first season was very much implementing his tactics in graining them in the players making sure it becomes second nature and it's not being requested as as he said countless times in his presses and then the second season becomes more of a tactical development aspect both defensively and offensively um even at set pieces I've noticed something slightly different in in the fact that we're less less sort of zonal marking space now there is some there is some um sort of cohesion to to the Tactical aspects of of Defending set pieces which was such a massive sting in our tail last year um and again Newcastle are a massive as well in height uh so that'll be that'll be really interesting to see so I'm full of intrigue Rick I am I am I am slightly concerned but I I'm intrigued and hoping that the lads can prove me prove me wrong you wouldn't be Spurs GE if you weren't concerned mate you wouldn't be Spurs if you weren't exactly as coming over to you George mentioned about the Tactical variation I think one thing that has been picked up upon is that it was quite evident on Saturday I know you were there as well n Montgomery seem to be barking out ERS actually from the uh bench where he seem to be quite involved in terms of the arrangement of set pieces and how that was being done um I think to touch up on what George said there there seems to be more of a hybrid approach to the way Spurs are managing their set pieces which I think again is interesting because as we saw back in the last season this was one of the games where Spurs are believe conceded two goals to go away to Newcastle Dean because of set pieces I suppose again before I dive into Newcastle and real de uh deeper detail how big are these next two games to show to you that this team is learning from last season because these were definitely two games last season that were very low points for us Spurs fans yeah no no I I think you absolutely hit the nail on the head and I think you know I think I tweeted after the the the Everton game you know bar bar 15 20 minutes in the two games this season we've actually been pretty good you know overall you know Leicester weren't great the second half it was it was a 15minute period where they where they saw scores for five minutes before we were rattled until we made some changes so overall we've actually been pretty good however we've played against substandard opposition and some of the two worriors from last season I.E not putting teams to bed when you're one nil up and missing chances and two conceding soft goals are there my my other I don't know if there's a worry my other thing that I've just noticed in the first two games is when it gets to around the hour mark everything seem to sort of drop off a bit energy and and and and stuff and I don't know if it's because we come out wear ourselves out and then just go a bit plateaued and then he makes a couple of changes but I think you know these are two tests how good we are in set pieces don't know Arsenal scored I think two set pieces possibly three set pieces against us no it was two set pieces against us last season and they counted us for one on a on a corner didn't they so all of the things that we're talking about have we learned we will find out you know Arsenal are a big big team as well uh I agree with George I don't I've said this for two years I don't really rate Newcastle I don't think they're particularly good every time I watch them I think they're pretty boring I think they're quite a defensive team that hit on the Counterattack that've got a couple of exciting players um and that's just just to come on that point let you come back the problem is I feel that we are absolutely made for them is it and I think that's exactly the point that George makes we last you know what if you could make a still right now Adam is looking like he's just seen Rick is trying to come in there Adam is he's just seen the sixth goal go against us I promise you go afterwards you look like you were just on a thought part ride as that just pulls absolutely brilliant please carry on you all went there you just F yeah I think you know Newcastle will absolutely tail made they literally just sat sat theyve done it again it's fine I'm still laughing sorry you all disappeared all four of us went black it weae there four half thousand watching you disappear but didn't carry on please carry on yeah they you know we were really naive against Newcastle last season you know they didn't do anything special against they literally just sat in and pumped the long ball o over the top and it was really easy to get him behind I think um an did say in an interview you know this season is more about implementing tactics and so on he did he did I I'm you know people spoken on the chat we spoken that he doesn't like a natur number six I think time will tell whether that is naive or not because I think most teams have some sort of thanks mate I mean I'm I I'm five foot seven so I'm probably as good as most of our they they've upgraded the height in that team now there's a lot of six Footers in there to be fair to I was on the post the old classic that we don't do anymore I was on the back post so you know just watch just watching them going my head I me you're right I mean for you just what you just said there you feel these next two games are GNA tell us a lot about where we're at def yeah and how we handle the pressure of New Castle coming out energy of their fans and stuff like that I'm still my my my jury is still out on basuma massively um my thing about bassum because I I wanted to make this point I thought he had a really good game on on against Everton um he made one terrible pass which he does sometimes which was never on um Midway in his half and you think again if that's a good team the trouble that puts you in yeah my big thing about basuma my big thing is he plays well when we play well I've never seen him have a good game when we've been crap and he's dug us out but I think that's the key for a lot of this team ad that I'll probably come on to with Ricks now is that I look at this team Ricks and we know disrespect the Spurs when it's all going well like the Everton game everybody looks like a six seven eight out of 10 when you've got a dig deep all Leicester away and they've just equalized where are those players as Adam comes on to there that are going to dig in and really pull us out of a hole and go again and get us that winner and I that's why these next two games I if you agree are very very key to us okay how much have we learned because I'm L not to be negative I think it's John to be as real as I can in these next two games there are going to be periods in both of these games where we are going to have we're going to struggle and that's not to say the results going to be struggling but there're going to be periods where we're not going to have all the ball and we're have to fight to put our stamp on the game and that is where it's going to show me okay are we learning have we got over the the points of last season is that what you're looking at Ricks now for these next two games to see are we learning are we impen like Adam said they the tactics are we growing as a team absolutely bro absolutely like Adam was saying there and Georgia as well it's like they are great tests and it's a great opportunity to put a marker down it's a great opportunity to get excited to kind of go let's show everybody what we're about right now let's show everybody how much we have learned now when you learn a lesson sometimes especially on the football pitch sometimes even though you've learned it they can still happen Okay but it's about reaction I felt Leicester it was about reaction there was an emotional reaction we went after them when it got on top when they scored our reaction was more emotional and aggressive rather than it was what the boss was saying in preseason in that little clip which was what's the next action what's the if we lose the ball what's the next if they score a goal what's the next when we score a goal what's the next action just keep thinking what's and they didn't they got wrapped up in it and they got W in the beef and in the emotion of it and all of those things and they lost their heads for that that 10 15 minutes we then tried to implement a controlled way of playing again but it was like this that's why I think that that was a great game for the lessons because having a preseason and then getting to the real business end of something and it meaning you know all these boys are ambitious they're all talking ambitiously so to get it start the season like that against a a poor ler side but you know they've just come back up full of beans back in the Premier Premier League you know um back with the stadium vard's back he's a red ball you know what I mean every everything's popping you know you can understand how that energy can kind of carry you through for a little bit but it was our reaction so I saw a massive reaction against Everton again Everton you you you could argue Poor Side but at the same time they are as Sha D side that lover set piece where free kick Corner routine they had fre actually in a gr L and to be fair there was a little few moments of words but we we dealt with we dealt with it rick we dealt with it and but that that's the thing as well so we so we dealt with it well we also scored from a set piece in that game and I think that we need to because negativity always screams louder than positively right and all I'm saying is balance so when we do do it well let's give them boys credit for doing it well regardless of who the opposition is give him credit for doing it well and then now the big tests are coming exactly what Adam said there exactly what George was saying there the pacing behind tough they like us at peace as well we got done by them last year okay cool okay so now thear has got a year under his belt where he saw that last year that that he could be bullied and he was like well where's my foul and he didn't get that foul so now he's a little bit more kind of ready for that type of fight he's stepped up his game same as the boys it's an opportunity it's an opportunity to lay a marker down not only from the lessons from last year but the lessons from this year and continuing because there are going to be many lessons we're not we're not going to have a 100% uh exam result at the end of the year it's not going to happen doesn't matter how good we are it's not going to be 100% it's about reactions it's about growth and then it's about that unpredictability and that fearlessness of Youth you know when they do get chucked in when they do come on like Georgie was say it was Adam saying there 6065 minutes you see the energy tapering off well that's because of preseason none of them got 90 minutes in preseason you know only like maybe a handful um and and they're still finding their feet but they when we play 100 Mil mil an hour nobody can touch us nobody can touch us so it's a great opportunity to go out there against two big sides and you know what Georgy also you said you said we we had a missed opportunity during this transfer window and I totally agree but Newcastle if we had a Miss I don't know what they they miss true they are their fan base is not happy they're not happy at all going into deadline day they've got all the money in the world right they got all the money in the world and and they have not been able that's a massive missed right they signed anyone they signed anyone they signed lad at sheffi Sheffield Wednesday they signed cheff Wednesday they got Lloyd Kelly in yeah on a three I mean look to be fair they have pretty much spent the whole summer chasing around Mark Gay haven't they and I think they are in a situation now where I think I let Rick come back in on this they've got they've got fourth bid that was rejected and it looks like they're g go that deadline day looking for a center back but again you know as we know in this window and you leave your business that late on deadline dates or always hit and miss I think Rick goes back to what you're saying there a really good opportunity to show what we can do forget about newcast show what we can do because at the end of the day we can start well there that fan base will get on top of them they will no absolutely bro but it's about us it's all you know it's my it's my thing don't worry about your position worry about about us yeah our our chaos our aggression our want our desire our drive you know we've got we've got to want those three points and we've got to win so badly into that very last second of that very last minute of extra time we've got Go the whole way and we're building we're getting there but great opportunity to to show everybody what they're about totally agree certainly do um just to bring a bit of team news into EMP if I can before I ask the boys for predictions and how the game will play out um we obviously we saw the late TR from Spurs that dropped what that was on Tuesday Wednesday now so forgive me it was before that point feels like it's been a very very long week on here with the transfer window and Rison wasn't in the latest trading video that Sami add obviously we'll have an update from an later today for since an audio going into that Friday a busy day for Spurs far they've got the Europa League draw they've got deadline day and they've got an poo holding that pre-match presser so bear that in mind so Ron not in the latest training video as also was not in that latest training video was Dominic sanki 65 million pound signing Dominic sanki we knew before the Newcastle game or before Everton that it was going to be very unlikely he may feature he was expected to be back for the Northland Derby against Arsenal so those are two players that yeah we' obviously got our concerns over and also bearing in mind we had the news that Mickey vaner was also not featuring in that video but has been in around hot spur way over this last week thankfully Christian Romero is there it maybe opens up the possibility does Ru dragi maybe come in for a start we'll have to wait and see we will get a full update from an POA cogo in that press conference of course on Friday in which we've said is a really big cutle of weeks for Spurs of course International break in between there as well we've touched upon it boys it's not always a happy Hunting Ground you look at the aggregate scores of 10-1 over the course of the last two seasons it feels like something has got to really change and you know again Newcastle to be fair to them they edged that game in their first home game of the season against Southampton who were down to 10 men if you remember at the time or newcaster were down to 10 men they got themselves a win they went away to Bournemouth um of course that game ending in a real controversial draw and of course they got through in the carabel cup late last night to a oh God Ione seen that penalty from aani is it a give me God Absolut abolute Skydive wasn't it Skyrocket honestly you know you could tell there it wasn't confident at all and um it did mean Newcastle did progress to fourth round of the carabel cup but look the focus will be of course on how Spurs do go to Newcastle and if the boys have really said apply themselves mean again we've got decision to make does Rodrigo Bor coming for E basuma Adam touched upon there basuma will we get a period of a game where he will control it away at St James's Park crowd that will be boisterous you then got the likes of course Pape matad does he come back in D kesi to be fair I was stunned he didn't start against Leicester on that opening day again you have to we up does he come back into this game James Madison although like I say James I think we've seen I think some real hopefully periods of progression in these opening periods of the season and again it will come down to does Wilson OD bear get a second start in the space of a week what do we think boys very quickly for AR your predictions are we expecting like a mass change to the lineup we come to you Jorge what are you expecting lineup wise do you think and to shake it up at all for that 130 on Sunday no I don't think so I think he'll he'll stay pretty much the same the only change um perhaps he might do is is to bring Richie in up top um especially if sanki is is still out I mean naturally obviously if senan's fit he'll come straight back in but um I think that there'll be a keenness given another week's training for Richie that he might he might be fit enough to now start the game and give us more of a focal point um up top against yeah against against the new team that we know can commit in that sense so I think that might be the only one he'd be forced to do it the middle of the park is going to be the the conversation point the whole season um there's there's so many different variables in that area of the pitch that we can we can look towards um I'm not s sar's a weird one for me he he had he had so many good games last year but actually preseason and and so far this has looked a little bit off it uh might just be my opinion um I think have General consensus with s I've I've seen many with their starting 11s that have not put s in there whereas last season George let you come back in sort of cut you there I think what we've seen last season I think s was in everybody's first 11 right yeah and that's that's yeah sort of the point I was Raising so he's he's so dynamic in that role and gave us so much energy a lot of last season in in games where we needed it you talk about sort of taking games and bringing that energetics sort of sparked to Midfield he was really really good at that and and and should have loved that aspect of his game but he seems to be lacking a little bit at the moment so I'm not sure he he'll come in um so and then it leaves Benton cor obviously back from from his concussion protocol which I think will have will have been cleared by the time the weekend comes along so the suppose the toss up between the two is are are Bon C and basuma too much of the same and therefore you'd stick with DEC and and Madison Advanced at basuma um I think that's a fair argument to be had especially in in the sort of game where we're likely to have more of the ball um probably and then be sprung on the counter obviously going the other way but I think I would I would stay with the same lineup the only caveat being up top where where Richie would come in for for um yeah for for son obviously in in the forward position thank you so much for that Georgie adds come around of you the M what's this doing Ricky be like what the hell is going on with that microphone because we're getting to an hour and a half for it I know you can see I'm twitching I'm twitching I'm twitching this a really stupid question I'm going to ask you because I know my viewers and listeners or our viewers and listeners on the Australian side of things gonna think what am I even talk about asking this question at second season in for this game under range are we going to show any sign of change in the way we're going to set up that might be crazy for me to ask you but surely we're not going to deploy the same high line to isach and the players at Newcastle got the liks of golden where as we've touched upon you said it yourself they're not a great side Newcastle but the way Spurs set up really plays into newcastle's hand so I'm not saying we go there Ultra defensive and Mourinho Style part the bus but is there going to be a little bit of maneuver in terms of the way we set up there you'd like you'd like to hope so otherwise we're gonna get pumped 40 again um I think it's I think the interesting one is the benting cup I like a lot but i s in a 433 you s oh my g again you just took to this one was even better stitching me up here is stitching me up watch you're watch this back this is I'm going to that Tottenham away that's that's what it is isn't it you know what he said to me said to he said to me tonight finally I'm gonna finally get a few moments to speak on this show and he's and he's still twice he can't make it up go onhe please um yeah with S I think if when you play a 433 I'm not quite sure where he fits because he's like almost like a box tobox midfielder almost like a central with a two yeah so I think that's why was a little bit of an anomaly um I'd be in it's very rare managers change formations you know when um when when you win 4-0 it would be quite interesting to see whether he he he dropped in Ben Ander next to basuma for that bit of protection um for me I I'm a massive keski fan um I think yeah Le pelters here I think um I think kazki has to start I think keski starts every game and I think in a game like Newcastle where you need to keep possession of the ball I think he's probably the best at doing that and carrying it if Rich Aron's fit and you know I don't know I I wouldn't be adversed Dey played you know number nine didn't putting son out wide I wouldn't be adverse to seeing him through the middle what was that Adam sex face you don't want to see that James you do not want to see that trust me not not on this show anyway yeah no not at all to be honest with you we're we're not pass yet on God we haven't got to that yes I don't I don't I I don't I don't reckon I don't reckon there'll be too many changes I think we were pretty Punchy against Everton in terms of our lineup I don't think we'll be as attacking I I probably would see one of the Wing is going out and Sonny moving maybe wide or and keski coming in okay it'll be interesting to see if he went with you know with like a which I think he did possibly against Leicester you know W with um you know basuma and bentinger slightly deeper yeah we're gonna come on to Bri in a second Rick let me bring you in I tell been such a fun into this show it's the outakes that make this show what it is it's not the Spurs chat it's what goes on I was GNA praise you for your Sensational tonight use of imagery whilst you've been talking but you done this got the freeze frames of me looking like a dick clearly he's gonna he's gonna carry on that that that that level of work and taking those images ad and turning it into the thumbnail for tonight you know one like this and one you know and he he's not even going to put a title on the YouTube video know mean this is why I think of the transfer window Lads these two images yeah no I at the end go that GOI no I think uh I think we're probably gonna go with the same lineup um as against ever and the only caveat that I would say would be maybe Mickey vaner having a little bit of a rest um if he has had a bit of a hopefully it's just a bit of a you know it's just swelling and it just needed a couple of days to go down or something along those lines but this is what a squad's about right so if they do have a knock instead of like continue playing him and increase something small a small injury into a major injury like play play Radu like play the man you know what I mean let's see what he's got about him and and I'm sure that he's been bursting for a chance to to to start a game so you know if that's that if that's what's happening depending on Mickey's um Fitness and even if you got just a slight knock I put put him on the bench and go right and call R you you play you can start the game and then we can bring we can bring Mickey on if and when he be but that's what squad's about right so that would be my caveat um for that I like I love Dei in the middle I just think he's pure chaos he loves to ride a challenge he loves to battle he loves to hold on to the ball he doesn't mind holding off the player while he's holding the ball he is D the way that he kind of uses players back in into him to turn and like almost lose him you know they're like where did he go you know and he's not even fast and the way he does that is I love it I think like you say there Rick I think he's finally found that position isn't he I mean that that's the key now and it's I mean for you Rick like you said for you you should be starting no doubt oh yeah yeah and and and I think Kulu is one of those players I mean ever since he turn out I I just feel it in him he's he's one of those that drives for more he's going to work for more he's going to seek to improve he's going to he he feels like one of that a bit like Harry Kane that would and I imagine I don't know this but would stay and do shooting drills afterwards and do you know what I mean or do Crossing drills or just free or he'll be doing something extra to make sure that he's he's improving every single day and I don't think we've seen the best of of Dey yet I've I think we've seen you know the first couple of chapters we haven't hit the Middle where he kind of you know Jets off he's still a young guy but I think this is definitely the making of him being in there and I would go with the same team just been made captain of the Sweden team I saw for this next International break and yes and and and this is what important as well it's like if you look at what we're doing there Darren Hart you have to ask Darren Hart about it the har man because he was the one that broke it down to me and I'm GNA paraphrase horribly but ask him to break it down but with Dei being there dei's the most decorated Swedish player right now right yes there's ebra but he's the man right now playing he's been either around the country now Berg's coming and he's he's he's the poster boy of the country now you've got two of the best coming out from a country that are working together in this team that are bringing each other on and and are helping each other kind of develop and get more do you know what I mean it's the one thing that I would have wished that we would have done when we got rev bro was bringing chef chenko at the same time and they would have grown at the same time do you know but I feel so sorry you Ricky sorry man what happened Ricky's just pissing because of one of the comments and youting away and I can see he's barely able to hold together volume that I'm just gone I when I start rting I just go like you know but yeah let's keep it moving I think I think de is gonna be amazing for us love it I'm terrified to a prediction to think what can go wrong next on this show given what's after these last 15 minutes we'll start with Georgie George thank you so much mate buture having you back on oh I you say you're not a regular George but we think you are because you've been used to this chaos what we going for mate Newcastle away are we going to change the record do I have to whisper no is that no you're fine you're abely fine you do you you're amazing uh I'm GNA go I'm going to go 32 Spurs um and I think we'll go something like 2 N up and it'll be kamakazi chaos for for most of the second half but we'll end up sneaking three points and a 3-2 win um I do I I was reflecting on the question you asked Rick about how important these games are I mean I'll be I'll be at the Arsenal game um in a couple of weeks time but this this weekend I think is such a time to put a put an old sort of what's that saying thing on your back to bed um and and really get a result there monkey monkey on your back there you there you go um so yeah I'd I'd love to see three points I'll be done I'll be done the boo of watching that on Sunday afternoon before I it's a big game 4:30 on Sunday as well is it uh United Liverpool so that'll be that'll be a nice a Daya so I hope we kick off that with h with a tasty three points and a 3-2 win oh man amazing I love the humor on this show car Geor I love the human show George been amazing George where can everybody find you for those that love and love your outakes what we do on this show where can I find you yeah find me on X George ban often chatting nonsense or ring up some um some other fans with different opinions I enjoy I enjoy our chats on there so yeah come come and join me lovely mate listen always a pleasure we look for to you back on with us I know you say hasn't been not it's not soon enough so we'll definitely get you back on soon Jo thank you so much ads thank you for everything just just everything just everything my pleasure VI le le least you got more at least you got more than at least you got more than a word in tonight a word you got more than a word better bet when Le and Patrick don't let me get a word I think it's it's been a lot of fun tonight guys we were being told that we're miserable at the beginning of this show I I know I know I'm I'm cry I'm crying probably us your wh Spurs I'm crying that was funny Ricky was chatting away and I could see you like strugling desperately to hold it together I I hate I hate doing this prediction because we could get pumped 4-0 on Sunday and I really hate thinking I really think we're gonna win which I hate doing because I think that I'm gonna get all excited and then we're gonna be two-nil down um I I I think we're gonna win I think we're gonna win two asked you say two1 Faz asked the question there should Brandon Johnson start versus Newcastle um I don't I don't know I I the front three sorry I just got the front three is a really interesting one because I think I I don't think you can start Johnson and O debart in a game like this who are both relatively young and a little bit maybe naive just don't we're gonna start will fall on the floor yeah so yeah I I think I think kesi need needs to start possibly in that front three because you know he can hold and carry the ball um I'm not quite sure who that's instead of okay ad you're amazing 2-1 there from ads and can I just say apart from the general outakes he's chatting about Finance I think it's pretty hard to believe on his last down half but he does generally do Finance on his show I happen his last down half he's all got a bit chaotic with roller coasters and certain scenes be on the water shed but he nor is here talking about five ads but we love him we do ad thank you so much we'll see you soon guys been a lot of fun always a pleasure Rick thank you mate Rick be back before he knows it rick where can everybody find you everybody knows where you find me 3-1 that's what I'm feeling I'm feeling a 3-1 I'm just you know we're going to go into the first half 3-0 up and then they're going to score one in the second half there'll be 10 minutes of chaos but we'll finish a game 3-1 big fre points Revenge taken and come on you Spurs my friends I love that I always guarantee you Rick she always get such a positive I love him we do we do love Ricky Jord Rick
