MLB DFS Pitchers to Target and Fade for DraftKings and FanDuel 9/5/24

good morning and welcome to the DFS Army YouTube channel I am Raz 11 and you can find me on x risle 11 grinds going to take a look at pitching for today the 5th of September it is Thursday we do have four games on an early slate and five games on a main or evening slate um pretty quick video I hope um just throwing out some options for us first look at pitching again I'll be looking at DraftKings as that is where a majority of my action is if you're on fandu I'd cut my pitcher pool into about a half today uh as we don't have to be as creative pressing isn't quite as tight and the scoring system is slightly different with that said let's just jump into pitching I don't believe there's any weather issues at least I have not seen anything yet so we can take it for what it is at the top we get Blake snow against a hot air a squad struggled against him the first time he faced him uh but he's pitching in a ballpark that I absolutely love pitching in a park that he's been extremely strong in the ball's back after a rough outing against Seattle um strikeouts have been there uh I'm GNA have to play them I will be stacking the Arizona side a little bit but uh definitely Blake snow has the the highest upside on the Slate Hunter Brown definitely going to be in play but I do have some worries uh he's been rough on the road and pitching in Cincinnati is not an easy task strikeouts have kind of come down a bit uh but he's been pretty consistent uh there are some ks in the Cincinnati lineup but there are also home runs to be had so I think he's a perfectly fine option obviously um this slate actually has a lot of pitching options for us which is both good and bad um it's tougher for us to get some leverage in spots just because there are so many possibilities here um Pablo Lopez struggled against AF Bay the first time but his overall numbers on the road have been stronger than at home hasn't allowed a run over his last three starts K's haven't been as strong this season uh or at least recently um but we know that I've been picking on Tampa Bay so Pablo Lopez is definitely going to be somebody that I'm utilizing his K props at six and a half which is the second strongest K propop on the Slate behind uh Blake Snell so uh certainly somebody we're going to go with Brian woot somebody I want to utilize as well he shut down Oakland in two starts hasn't been as strong on the road overall he not a huge K guy but he does have some random K upside um coming off a rough start where he allowed three home runs he's kind of allowed five home runs over his last three starts uh that's a trend to pay attention to considering Oakland uh hits a plenty of home runs but they also allow some strikeouts so um his K props also at six and a half which used strongly on the under though Taj Bradley somebody I'd definitely like to utilize um probably use him here but he he's coming in with some pretty bad Trends over his last five start six starts um three plus runs in all six starts high of 6K in that stretch um he might be the guy that I end up fading out of this group just because I mean I'm a Minnesota guy so but uh there are reasons behind it not just because he's taking on the twins uh obviously those Trends are an issue um he is a home dog game total is sit at seven so that his low enough to maybe he makes make sense but still um I think I'd rather play Marl Kelly even though I don't really love the idea of playing Marill Kelly he hasn't looked very good either um in fact I probably won't play Marill Kelly which is really tough considering I love pitching in this ballpark I don't know how many times I say that but I will continue to say that San Francisco is a great place for pitchers uh Day games aren't as inviting as the night games are San Francisco but still uh it's still a big ballpark Rett louder uh first rounder made his debut last week looked pretty solid went just four Innings 77 pitches I'm not sure if they're going to keep him around that or not um he's obviously uh a little nervous along four walks uh not much of a walk pitcher so um yeah this I mean this ballpark is just not ideal for him at least just for taking pictures I guess a game total of nine right now but a tap off of just three and a half as well so probably going to end up off of uh ret louer as well Joe esis has been pretty solid of late takes on a team that he's crushed against he's two and0 um and this team also Strikes Out plenty he is just a slight dog at home so I think there's plenty of upside and Estus uh for this slate so you know it's it's really looking like for sure we're going to play five of the eight pitchers and maybe six but um you know that's quite a few pitchers on a small slate sliding over to the main slate we get Ronaldo Lopez uh should be the chalk pitcher continues to look pretty strong out there uh I still contend that his upside isn't quite the same the same as other pitchers but it's also a short slate um and it's the pitching matchup that we pick on left and right uh have to pick on Colorado so minus 285 home favorite uh K propop sitting at seven and a half with juice on the under uh Rangers Suarez somebody that I will utilize just because I think he's just a really strong pitcher overall uh hasn't been great in two starts against Miami but he has been at his best one on the road um hasn't been overly sharp uh since his return from the I uh but again it's a pretty strong matchup and obviously that last start was against a difficult Atlanta Squad uh I have no problem going to Ranger K prop sitting at four and a half with juice on the over he's a minus 238 favorite as well uh Jake Irvin against a team that was just no hit last night tall task uh but he has been at his best one on the road coming off a pretty bad start um kind of a bad stretch of starts in the second half I'm going to leave this one up in the air for right now um he is a slight Road dog can't out a five and a half juice on the under um I do have a little bit of interest but I'm not sure if he's going to end up in my pool or not Cody Bradford somebody that I really like as a pitcher uh pitching at home where he's been at his best uh he's been really strong the Angels offense just exploded against the Dodgers last night uh I think Bradford is in such a solid spot now K prop a 5 and a half jues on the under but he is a minus 166 home favorite probably going to be one of my favorite pitchers on the Slate to be honest Martin Perez uh had been pretty solid with San Diego his last three starts haven't been all that great um but it is a solid matchup against Detroit in San Diego he's a minus 162 favorite krop just four and a half juice slightly on under not a huge K guy uh but he does have mid 20s upside and that's kind of important to us generally what I'm looking for is you know 25 plus upside out of my pitcher position so Martin Perez is probably going to make the pool Austin gber no thanks Bailey falter um maybe he is favored in this game but his performan have not been good either um his K props just three and a half he has aus1 20 favorite I think I'd rather gamble on the upside of Jake irvan in that matchup but uh we do need pitchers to use but I mean I think we can get away with keeping a pitcher pool at four uh maybe slide in a fifth um K chanowich coming off of his best Major League start only reason I'm debating it is you know Texas putting Seager on the iil um maybe there's some weakness in their lineup even though they were completely fine against the Yankees last night um I could see some people talking about him and making him an option I'm just not sure I'm going to get there uh I think we're going to stick to a four or five man pitcher pool on this slate for our mme uh which is totally fine with me because it allows us to focus on getting more combinations uh that we like uh which is always a good thing for our upside so but there we have it
