Christian McCaffrey Really Worth the First Pick?

welcome to Fantasy Football Buzz giving you the sweet Edge in your fantasy league today we're talking about drafting Christian mcaffrey with a number one overall pick is it install loock or is it others you should be considering spoilers in my league I drafted him number one it was pretty clear to me but we'll go over there some of the reasons why you might consider some other players as well so let's jump into it so Christian mcaffrey last year if you guys remember he was number one RB by a mile he scored over 100 fantasy points over the second person he had 357.50 point2 so definitely moster we loved him because he scored a bunch of touchdowns but overall CMC that usage you just can't ignore so even though that he was used a bunch we didn't really feel like that would be 100 points over the last RB uh and that happened and it was definitely because of a whole mix of things obviously he had 14 rushing touchdowns making him number two running back to moard who had actually 18 he actually also had seven receiving touchdowns which made him the number one in that category for running backs they just definitely used him a bunch so here's a number one reason why you should draft him inst lock him in for that number one pick he was involved in the passing game a ton he had 83 targets if you just look at all the running backs that was number four um from all the running backs out there which you kind of don't really think about all that often because you're just so used to him uh running the ball but he has definitely been targeted a ton from Brock py a huge part of their offense that is accounted for 17.8% Target share making him number two so if you compare them to uh the number one which is Alvin Kamar which is a huge part of that off offense just kind of crazy considering all the weapons that the 49ers have with Debo Samuel Brandon auk George KD having 70.8% Target share is awesome 83 targets uh I think that was like just bonus for all their uh fantasy users out there every time you saw Ball come his way you're definitely uh excited he definitely has a high completion rate as well his Red Zone usage was one to two Targets a week which was crazy I thought that was really awesome it's kind of like a bon is for your fantasy owners uh out there every time you saw him get a pass thrown to him again with all their different weapons out there it was great to see that hey we either handing the ball for a run in or being able to do a quick pass uh he no matter where he is if he's on the field he's definitely going to get high chance he's going to get the ball again that crazy 77.8% Target share um so definitely using him a ton um and the number three reason why I think that you should uh definitely get him with the number one one pick is who else is there obviously we talk about different teams uh there's a lot of question marks especially if you think about someone like the Dolphins is it Devon aain is it moard but with the 49ers it's pretty Crystal Clear who the running backs is if it's not uh Christian mcaffrey who the heck is it uh they have Elijah Mitchell Matt breida you know that Christian mcaffrey is always going to be there he's the one that's going to be uh running the ball majority of the game it's not even a question there is no RB committee and unless something drastically happens uh I don't see that changing uh for the future he's a huge part of their success ever since he joined the team he's been a huge Focus for everything that they do running passing defenses have to consider him at all times so again definitely those are the type of players that you want uh as a foundation uh for your fantasy team so so I guess one of the reasons why you would consider not drafting him uh would be some injury concerns he did have a calf strain but coach Shanahan is not concerned with that um he is missing sometime but that is pre-seasons and training camp he'll be ready if this was his first season with the team I might be a little bit wary about that but he knows the Playbook he knows that he's the focus of this he knows what to do he has rapport with um you know his teammates Brock pie um he'll be ready I don't care if he misses all the preseason games even if he did miss a game or two in the beginning like I said he is 100 points difference last year from um everyone else he will make it up regardless of if he does Miss time uh and I do foresee uh it's just the nature of things that he might miss a game or two not because of this calf stream but throughout the season but I still think that's going to be um you know no cause for concern about drafting him number one overall I don't really have a good reason to draft someone else um and I guess that would be the number two reason um for not drafting him is trying to draft another running back um I guess number one on the list that I see a lot is Bree Hall obviously with him being on the Jets and the Jets having Aaron Rogers back uh brieze Hall did a lot of great things last year with not a great quarterback um and I do think he's definitely ascending I think he'll have a great year um but I still do think that there's a lot of question marks uh with that team they didn't have a great passing game last year they had to rely on him a ton um and now with Aaron Rogers back and all the weapons that he has at wide receiver like Wilson you know you just never know obviously that could definitely help in bree Hall's favor and that's why people are hyping him up uh and he did have an awesome year in general uh but I just you know I think there's less questions about chrishan mcaffrey and then the other people who have been um hearing have been going the number one or people considering number one is Ban um you know like I said I don't think he had the best season last year obviously he was a rookie uh but he's just a name that um I wouldn't drafted number one it's all about if I have the number one pick I'm I'm all about um making sure that it's as um successful as uh foolproof as possible and Christian mcaffrey kind of does that if he does miss one or two games like I said I think he'll definitely bounce back I think the overall points will still be there but if ban miss a couple of the games and he gets behind and everything he's doing uh I would have more concern with that again a lot of question marks um with that offense or with a new quarterback um so again I would still go with CMC um then number three reason I guess would be would you draft a wide receiver in a half PPR League I would still obviously go with CMC um but I think in PPR leagues people have been thinking about people like CD lamb or Tyreek Hill who have awesome um awesome Seasons who are going to do awesome this year um obviously there's some drama with CD lamb I don't think I wouldn't even consider that uh I think he's going to get paid or I think he's still going to play for sure um he's gonna have a great season I think he's gonna probably do better than he did last year but I still think Christian mcaffrey still the safer uh safer bet there for sure Tyreek Hill again uh Miami Dolphins is um you know going to have a solell in year I think Tua and Tyreek I think just that relationship and that chemistry is just going to continue to be better uh I don't see like they're pretty much the same team that they were last year so that sure they got like obj but I don't think he's taking any Targets away from Tyreek they're definitely going to involve Tyreek more in the offense um I think Tyreek is just so explosive I think they'd be you know I think they'd be a Miss if they didn't use him as much as possible but still not for my number one pick again if I have the number one pick and like I did I'm still getting CMC he's just so important to the 49ers and he's continued to be important for not only this year but you know the many years to come uh he's pretty much Irreplaceable and I think that he's going to have an awesome year maybe even better than last year those 21 touchdowns uh I thought was amazing maybe this year we'll go for 2530 and have a record year who knows uh but Christian mcaffrey should be your number one pick um let me know in the comments um who you drafted if you had the number one pick or if you did have the normal pick who you'd be drafting um again I'm going to kind of be going through where I would be drafting certain people at different spots who would be drafting at the second third slot um I guess if you'd be happy if Chris McCaffrey did drop down to you I think that would be um amazing but no matter what league you're drafting I think still think it's Christian mcaffrey all the way in theck um but yeah let me know what you guys think um
