Arizona Cardinals vs. Denver Broncos | 2024 NFL Preseason Week 3 | Predictions Madden NFL 25

tonight from Empower Field at Mile High in Denver it's a special Prime Time edition of the NFL on EA Sports we'll see Bo Knicks and the Denver Broncos taking on Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals we find ourselves at the foot of the Rockies Denver Colorado for this edition of the NFL on EA Sports Brandon G Charles Davis thrilled to be with you from the broadcast booth and partner before we get this thing started what are you going to be watching who gets off to a fast start in horse racing terms they talk about catching a flyer out of the gate who sets the pace and makes the other team Chase [Applause] and off we go from [Music] Denver taken at the goal line and up to about the 26 yd line just across the 25 the Cardinal now getting set to go offensively and it'll be the Dual threat quarterback Kyler Murray leading the way and now that he's back at full health they're expecting Kyler to get back to being the Superstar playmaker that they drafted make no mistake about it when he's fully healthy there are many quarterbacks are as dynamic as he is and if he's able to stay on the field this team has a real chance to make some noise [Applause] [Applause] First Carry for James Conor that's to about the 28 second down coming up oh that's a real nice job there by the defensive front they just engaged and held their ground but how about the guy who made the play we often talk about whether they take a good first step or not many times you just don't take any step step just get your feet moving get your body going and then once he made the read he was able to make the play second down eight to go from the 28 here's Murray that's into the hands of Pascal and only able to get two here stopped at the 30 the goal of a wide receiver screen is get enough blockers in front to create a wall and let him pick his spot to run the football how about the defense there swarming to it and not allowing that to happen did not let him get down field this defense looking for an early stop this is third down and six out of the gun here's Murray he's got his Target that's complete and past the 40 before he's out of bounds it's a gain of 11 and a cardinal first down that's a play that may get lost in the grand scheme of things but one thing's for sure you certainly don't want to go three and out to start the game so that's a nice job of finding the right play call and coming up with a first down on First and 10 here's Murray and he'll be taken down but not before he works it past the 50 a Nifty bit of scrambling there 12 yds first down partner there's a downside to everything and the danger of man coverage is if you're locking down your target you often turn your back to the quarterback and you don't see him sometimes you open up a big Lane for him to hit you for big yardage and that was an astute play by him to scramble out see that lane and burn them for a first down so a first and 10 now in Denver territory at the 47 shotgun now for Murray finding his Target it's Trey McBride and he'll get this one down near the 20 ydd line just shy of the 20 25 yds there on the catch and run well the first drive here and the first time that we've called a big tight ends name but I I can assure you this Charles it won't be the last no it won't because when he gets going now it opens up opportunities on the perimeter because that'll draw the defense towards him in the middle of the field now your wide receivers will get involved as this game goes on first down Murray and he's got it and out of bounds all the way down at the three that's good for a first down his second catch of the opening drive a lot of precision being shown on this opening drive they've been methodical they've been Crisp And as a reward they're going to be set up with an early first and goal [Applause] first and goal a chance for an early statman here on the road to throw is Murray touchdown Trey McBride from three yds out and the cards will jump on top with a game's first score here this afternoon that's just how they drew it up CD his first read was there got it to him quickly and into the end zone absolutely excellent execution by all involved and the coordinator got to give him credit found the perfect play call quarterback Let it Fly as soon as the target came free and his guy made a nice catch just how you draw it up in practice and then execute it in the game Prater for the extra point and that makes the score seven nothing so that winds up a seven-play drive all told and it was capped off by a touchdown reception from Trey McBride [Applause] after the touchdown out is Prader to kick and this will wind up way short of the landing zone so that's going to move the ball all the way up to the 40 yd line so now here the Broncos to take over on offense Led Out by their rookie quarterback drafted 12th overall Bo Nicks out of Oregon and he really established himself as one of the best quarterbacks in the country a season ago 45 touchdown passes and only three interceptions a Dynamic Athlete processes a lot of information a short amount of time and puts his team in a great position to win on each and every down you don't break the NCA record with highest completion percentage without having all those attributes and I think they he'll translate very well in [Applause] Denver a first Carry now this is Williams and not much to speak of call it a one yd gain up to the 26 Brandon to me what's important right here on this drive is for them to get at least two first downs they've got to give their defense a chance to settle down catch their breath a little bit after they give up a touchdown on the opening drive the last play got just a yard here's second and nine from the 26 [Applause] Nicks to the air that's complete it's Greg doul call it a gain of six on the play and now it's third and three we'll see what kind of mindset they have here offensively after giving up the touchdown on the opening drive and based on our time with them you know prior to this game I feel like they've got a good mindset going in in fact the discussion that we had with the coaching staff was you know we may give up some points in this game so our offense has to be ready each and every time to either equal or try and get us ahead and try and keep us ahead this is their chance to respond to that first touchdown given second catch for him today and it'll wind up a first down and already down seven to nothing after the touchdown a minute ago so a three and out here would not be ideal for them nice job finding his receiver there and they get the first down [Applause] Nicks on first down he's got his 65 receiver that's Tim Patrick and he has a big gain inside the 40 before being dropped the rookie from Oregon on target with that one it leads to a first down give the rookie another one on this opening drive and a first down with it a nice start Charles for the first year passer he's come out made a few plays nice plays to begin this contest he certainly has and if he finishes off this drive with a touchdown pass I bet we don't call him rookie anymore we'll move him right to veteran and continue from there so into Cardinal territory now it's first and 10 at the 39 yd line on the counter here's Williams and a very determined run there as he'll take this all the way down to the 27 good effort 12 more yards there and another first down give every member of that unit a ton of credit for ripping off such a big gain there because you don't get free for that many yards on a counter or misdirection without everybody selling the heck out of it [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] they stick to the ground game on first down it's Williams he's able to get six a nice pick up down to the 21 consecutive positive runs for him on the last two snaps he certainly appears to be trying to put the offense on his back and just move them down the field when his number is called the way he's running it I keep going back to him here now second and [Applause] four here's Nicks he'll get this one to Patrick and able to get him down but he does reach the five that one good for 17 yds and now they've got it first and goal after one seven nothing on EA Sports second quarter about to begin from Denver it's the Broncos in possession of the football as they go to work on a first and [Applause] [Music] goal they'll try and run this is Williams and he'll go backwards losing yardage to the five that's going to go as a loss of a yard and it'll be second down I have a feeling they'll stay committed to running the football especially on their early Downs they just haven't had a whole lot of success just yet back at the 5 yd line now second and and [Applause] goal now it's Nicks he shakes him off he throws it on the move but can't connect as that falls incomplete boy that was lock down coverage there he's scanning for someone to come open that was great work to blanket everyone and in the end he's just got to throw it [Music] away big play coming here it's third and goal babying [Applause] baby they'll try and throw here's Nicks and that is incomplete not only did he have a chance to scan the field there it felt like he had a chance to scan it twice the protection was that good unfortunately for him the coverage downfield equally good now Lutz for the field goal try from the right hash and this one just a chippy the kick by Lutz is good and they are on the board but still trailing it's seven to [Applause] three so a long drive gets him down inside the five but ultimately they settle for just the field goal and I have to think that if maybe they were a yard closer that would have made their decision tougher and I think they likely would have gone for it but in this situation they just decided to take the three and I think it was a smart [Applause] move following the M field goal Luts to kick it away and this is not going to wind up anywhere near the landing zone so this will be blown dead and they'll move it up to the 40 now Kyler Murray ready to get back under Center five for five that last Drive touchdown pass as well he was clicking receivers I don't want to be cliche but running really solid routes too and what I love about it is when you look across any team all right the body types of the receivers are usually different the way that they get open different as well some of them use power to get open some of them use those head fakes and subtle moves some of them just use pure speed and the really good ones when they're established they not how a push off at the end of a route too and they'll begin by running the option and up to the 35 before they're able to knock him down give him 10 yards there and about by the nose of the football he's going to have a first down well partner for a few years there we thought this read option play was going to take over the whole NFL it seemed like everyone was using it but it has been scaled back considerably in the last few seasons mainly because people worried about their quarterbacks getting hit but when you called it the right time time and you use it properly you see the type of gains you can get a nice chunk of yardage there by the quarterback throwing on first down is Murray [Applause] incomplete 4 y now a second and 10 Murray going to throw oh heck of a move man and he'll be taken down but not before he gets into enemy territory I guess no need to force it when you can do that instead first down 18yd gain he's been making himself a weapon as a runner and the results they've been welcomed by his offense my question is about the defense we're watching right now partner even after he got him with a scramble earlier this drive they still aren't devoting enough attention to him I would expect that after that carry they'll do a much better job going forward spying on him on passing Downs so a first and 10 now in Denver territory at the 47 they'll bring a receiver in motion left Oh They'll run it here on the Jet Sweep oh and this one that may need to go back to to the drawing board he's going to be swallowed up right away two yds on the pickup there it'll be second and eight brings up second and eight at the Broncos 45 yd line now Murray throw left side complete that's Harrison and this is going to be another first down as they'll make the tackle at the Broncos 34 yd line give him 10 yards there as this offense is on a roll this drive continues to plunge forward and it's easy to see why he was a top ranked receiver coming out of the draft better than 1200 yds and 14 touchdowns in each of the last two seasons at Ohio State no one does it better than him and he gives Kyler Murray a chance to be special he'll get five out of the scramble it's second down his running ability has been an extra dimension of their game plan thus far for once though he doesn't create any magic against the front that's prepared for him to try and take off [Applause] from the 29 here's second down at five they'll fake it to Conor now Murray and he's going to lose a yard or two taken down behind the line it's a loss of a yard so they'll wind up crediting him with a sack and it brings up third down and this is a quarterback who's already had success on the ground of this first half but this time they're able to H in and it's always different when you rush a mobile quarterback as opposed to a guy you know will be right back in the pocket in this case you got to make sure the inside pressure and the outside pressure match and maybe even a second wave to make sure if he squirts free you've got someone to tackle him [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] two minutes to play in this first half 73 our score a reminder that when halime rolls around Jonathan Coachman will have all the highlights and Analysis of this first half of play from our Studios in Orlando they need to get this to the 24 on third down from the gun Murray and he will slide to a stop he does have the first down it's a pickup of six and good enough to move the chains no shortage of impressive moments from him thus far now he's halfway to the Sentry Mark and we're still in the first half there's been no answer for his running ability so far by the defense I can't wait to see what adjustments they'll have to make during the halftime break Murray's throw complete to McBride so just three yards on the completion there at it's second down they gave up the completion there but this is what zone defenses count on catching the ball and not much run after the catch they'll come up second and seven Murray now that pass completed to dorge that one good for seven as this long drive continues and the chains move again this has to go down as one of the simpler routes in the Playbook but oh so effective nice completion there keeps the sticks moving the Cardinals going to use the first of their timeouts as they'll stop it with just over a minute to go before [Applause] halftime here's a first and 10 at the 14 yd line here's Murray and that is incomplete oh the coverage a little too good there and it's second down he did a fine job there of not hitting him before the ball arrived and I've got to tell you you can often mtime that play because of the angles of approach when you're going to get him sometimes you panic as well and think I've got to be there right now instead in this case time to perfectly and knocked it free touchdown Cardinal Trey McBride a beast in the Red Zone with his second touchdown of the game and the Cardinals will extend their lead in the final minute of the half and that's certainly an important score right there because they gave themselves a two-score cushion heading towards halftime now you got to force the other team out of their comfort zone and it changes the way you approach the second half as well how you want to do things on offense and your defense feels much better too having that lead extra point good by prer and that pushes the lead up to 11 so that drive 12 plays in length and it was capped off by a touchdown reception from Trey McBride [Applause] [Applause] after the touchdown out is Trader to kick this taken in at the goal line and he brings this out past the 20 to the [Applause] 24 the Broncos going to go on offense now late in this first half Charles your down multiple scores less than a minute left here but with that deficit they've got to try to at least work their way into field goal range to try to muster something out of this drive and I'm going to go ahead and date myself one more time cuz I'm going to quote an old smokey in the Bandit L they've got a long way to go and a short time to get there but they still have time to get it done so I'm looking forward to watching them Mount this drive and see if they can get some points out of [Applause] it on First and 10 here's Nicks and this will be incomplete yes sir how about an out of boy there on first down got his hand in and knocked it away [Music] second and 10 throwing Nicks pressure comes and the Cardinals bring him down now the cards going to call another timeout their second as the clock stops here with 46 seconds remaining in the first half [Applause] how to approach this third down and 16 yds to go up the middle it's Williams and they'll get him down here at the 23 the Cardinals forced to burn their third and final timeout as they'll stop it with just over 40 seconds to go in the first half [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] on fourth down it's Riley Dixon on now to kick it away for Denver Greg George deep for Arizona he'll send this one into the mile high air and it's a good one so possession goes over here on the punt and the cards will take over first and 10 well the Cardinal offense going to take over late in this first half and with a 143 Advantage already we'll see how much they want to try to push things if at all just over 30 seconds to go in the half they've got it first and 10 49 49 Murray now to throw open that here is Benson this will be stopped about two yd shy of the marker 8yd gain second and two and his play caller does a nice job of giving him an easy throw to start this drive and he takes advantage of it the completion sets up a manageable second down second and a couple to throw it's Murray and this will be swung out here for conter and he'll be brought down right at the 45 yd line so we have reach halftime with the visiting Cardinals out in front as we send you on out to our Studios in Orlando here's Jonathan Coachman at Rea sports halime report all right Brandon thanks very much welcome every everyone to our brand new studios here in downtown Orlando in the EA Sports halime report all right coach thank you very much as we welcome you back for quarter number three [Applause] [Music] [Applause] ready for the second half 14-3 our score as we are back underway on EA Sports and we will not see a return to start the half as this will be a Touchback here comes the Broncos offensive unit here as they'll have it first to begin this third quarter and there's still very much in this game although they do Trail what's the game plan Charles for the second half it might be a little counterintuitive because most people will think losing equals passing the ball more but I'd establish the running game game they kind of went away from it in the first half I think if they get Back in Balance it'll help them when they put the ball back in the air throwing on First and 10 is Knicks and oh that nearly their first pick of the game but it falls down to the ground incomplete that certainly appeared to be a play call where they were just trying to make second down second and short I think they thought the coverage was off a little bit more than it was nice job there pressing up on it and forcing the incompletion on second down Williams and he's brought down getting this one up to about the 35 a 10yd pickup and it's enough for a Broncos first down those are the typ of runs that we did not see from him in the first half but a good start to the third quarter and I know what everyone's thinking that's watching this they did a great job adjusting it the half often times you don't make adjustments you just dial into your game plan a little bit better and maybe they're starting to make some [Music] [Applause] Headway ball up to the 35 now as they come up on First and 10 they run it again with Williams takes it to about the 37 not much on that run Charles no that's exactly the way to execute a run blitz there they guessed correctly that they would move the ball on the ground HED in on it and stopped him marked that down for a win in the defense's [Music] [Music] column here's a second and eight to throw is Knicks the cards get to him here he's brought down for a sack BJ oari getting in there and dropping him so one quick easy analysis about why they've struggled so far they keep putting themselves in third and long situations they just took another sack right there and the offensive film session tomorrow maybe a little long than it normally is not a lot of positive grades will be handed out thus [Applause] far this offense in desperate need of a conversion as they come up on third down to throw here's Nicks and this is going to be in complete well that play was certainly a little bit different because on the previous play he was sacked this time protection a lot better had time to survey the field and still couldn't find an open receiver here's Riley Dixon now as he'll putt it away for the second time he'll send this away into the rocky mountain night and it's a good one and here's a fair catch taken at about the 24 yd line it'll be a 39 y punt no return and they will take over first and 10 the Cardinals offense now ready to get their first opportunity here in the second [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] half Murray and the Cardinals with a first and 10 at their own 24 four he'll start the drive with a give to Conor looking for a scene but finding none he'll get back to the line of scrimmage and that's it Cody Barton there to bring him down this defense could use a few more plays like that right now it certainly could but think about it from an offenses perspective right now they've got a lead but they don't want to Throttle Down too much and stall themselves still want to move at a nice pace [Applause] second and 10 now third quarter action in Denver here's Murray as he sets to throw it now he's forced out [Applause] left and he will slide down with the first down for the moment but a penalty flag on the field so apparently some grabbing there in the middle of the o line I've often wondered why that doesn't happen more often for guys that play center having to snap the ball and then trying to get your hands into the proper position that's difficult to do he got caught that time they'll come up now on a second and long after the hold Murray a give this is Conor and he's going to be taken down with a marker on the field so let's see about the call so a decent gain there on the play but that all gets wiped out with a penalty well that's a setback but all the good play callers they just move on they find something else in the Playbook they can attack this defense and they go right back on the offensive on this play second down Murray sets to throw this complete to Jones so eight yds on the completion there and they're going to face an uphill battle here on Third and long well if you do read man coverage Brandon the drag route's a pretty good one to run against it because you're running away from people on it oh a tough situation to overcome come here third and 17 throwing now is Murray he's got Harrison left side complete and he's not going to sniff the first down here he stopped at the 25 so they'll get eight out of that completion and that's going to make it fourth down one Hallmark of good defenses it's understanding the game understanding positioning and tackling immediately in the secondary after catches I think we just saw that that on display right there got to him before he ever had a chance to think about turning it up field here comes the Cardinals punter now and the way this offense has moved the ball he hasn't been needed till here in the third taken from just outside the 30 a nice return that time of about 14 yds and the Broncos take over first down and 10 here's the Denver offense now as they get set to take over here defense got the better of them last series forcing a punt see if they make a few changes in the game plan here and try to get points out of this drive first and 10 [Music] good starting position for the Broncos here as they come up first and 10 at the [Music] 45 they'll try to get this running game going with Williams and he'll get it across Midfield and down into Cardinal territory 43 yds rushing for him now in the ball game now that's a run that warms a play caller's heart because you're actually set up to do whatever you want on offense you come right back and run essentially the same play because you have momentum or you can fake that running play and throw something deep over the top or you now feel like you have an extra down to play with because if you go ahead and just throw it and you don't get it come back and try and pick it up on third down first Target First Catch and a first down that was a route run not just with dexterity but with intelligence found the hole in the zone made sure the quarterback saw him and was able to make the short catch and flip the down marker back to [Applause] one now a first down carry it's Williams and dropped at the 35 but able to display some strength on the run it's a 6yd gain on the ground and that'll make it second and four you know what really fires up offensive lineman when the guy that is carrying a ball behind them can create his own space and break a tackle along on the [Music] way from the 35 back to work on second and [Applause] four now a 10th carry here's Williams and this play will be blown up he'll lose yardage back at the 38 it'll be a loss of a full three yards there and it also brings up third down I know they'd love to take some heat off of that young quarterback but so far not much in the running game and this won't help things either a loss on that play Nicks throwing on third down and it's going to be incomplete he was able to catch it there on the right sideline but out of bounds says the line judge and it's going to bring up fourth down welcome back now to Denver it's the Broncos trailing but they do have possession of the football as we begin quarter number [Music] four so now on comes the field goal unit and wow this is no ordinary try here this officially a 55 yd attempt and this is offt Target to the left didn't get there anyway it's no good and they will remain two scor down as the difference holds at [Applause] 11 Arizona getting ready to go as they take the field there two scores on the plus side still time here in this fourth quarter but maybe you start thinking about playing keep away yeah I think here's the situation you're not thinking touchdowns anymore you're just thinking first downs to keep up with your theme there playing keep away first downs they can't touch the ball Arizona's offense at the line ready to get their Drive started their defense was able to hold serve albeit With a Little Help from that missed field goal as they settle in now first and 10 and this nearly an interception but it's incomplete a turnover really would have helped him there but not to be how good has he been throwing the football though despite that incompletion that's just the third time he's been off Target this entire game and Brandon I've been on the other side of this equation trying to defend a guy who's been this hot and it chips away at your confidence and when you're not confident when you're trying to defend it makes you slower to the football and it leads to more completions for them after the incomplete pass here now is second and 10 looking to throw Murray and he can't find anywhere to go with it and he goes down DJ Jones breaking through to get him to the ground it's a loss of seven now Charles dealing with a third and long they'll have to try to go back to the air again and this time avoid the sack certainly hard to try to establish momentum when all you're doing is going backwards not protecting the passer and he gets dumped on his [Music] [Applause] [Music] backside that last sack puts Murray and the cards in a tough spot third and long looking to throw a quick throw there is incomplete critical play in this football game because if they pick up the first there that clock keeps rolling has to be a little frustrating for them because they know that if they pick up a first down there and continue to either away at the clock really increases their chances of closing this one out now they're likely going to have to give the football up and sweat it out on the sideline here comes the card punter now as the drive goes backwards so he's on to putt it away 44 on his first Punt and this is a good kick as well it's a return of four following a 42 yd Punt and coming out now the Broncos their defense was able to force the punt that's the good news but this is still a two-score game and they need points on this drive and in a relatively quick manner [Applause] they begin the drive with Williams and not a whole lot of room to operate there on the first down run he gets maybe three three I if they want to start getting back into this game it behooves them to get better on first down yeah certainly not what they were looking for there out of the opening play of this [Applause] [Music] drive here's second and seven back to throw Nicks looks to the sideline and has Mims who makes a catch they had three yards on first down just one yard there as a defense you're more balanced when you're in zone coverage because you're able to keep your eyes on the quarterback and see the play develop in front of you they're able to keep the Quick Pass in front of them and stop it right at the line of scrimmage the Broncos on third down just one for five to this point this will be third and five operating from the gun here's Nicks able to find the open man that's complete and he will have a Broncos first down as they're able to get the third down conversion this possession means so much for them they've got to focus on this drive and find a way to make this a one possession game got to get a score yeah so good with a field goal don't necessarily need a touchdown [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] so here's a first and 10 at the 38 Nicks from the shotgun got his man it's doul and this will be good for a pick up of nine to the 46 they're given those short little routes tackled him in bounds too they're just not want to get beat over the top yeah and if you can't really get down field take the short routes but now you got to have guys who can actually break tackles and increase those gains from the 46 here's second down and one they'll stick with the passing game as he looks to throw outright this one goes to Patrick and he's able to take it across Midfield before going out of bounds that one a first down pick up of eight clock management definitely critical here if they want to get back in this game absolutely agreed they have to up the tempo in this case down a couple of scores want to make sure they have a chance to win this ball game so into Cardinal territory now it's first and 10 at the 46 again he'll drop to throw throw over the middle taken in by dolage and he's going to get a solid gain of nine before being brought down second and right at a yard and that's staying ahead of the chains really really good pick up on first down hitting the tight end there now brings up a second and manageable just found a hole in that [Music] [Music] [Applause] zone ball on the 36 now here's second down and a yard here's Nicks once more same connection doul once again fifth catch of the game for him there yeah and the tight end position is now becoming a volume pass catcher used to be occasional right safety valve throw one to him every so often but mainly they want him out there to block nowadays an integral part of the passing game and they create such great mismatches that they often become the leading receiver Micks to throw on first down and he will find his man on the outside two minutes left to play in this football game here on EA Sports so it's Bronco football as we get you reset here and let's see what they've come up with offensively after having time to talk it over now second and four they'll look to throw again on the slant completes to Sutton and they're going to have another first down as a tackle's made here at the Cardinals 13 yd line of course remember you need a touchdown here and a field goal doesn't matter the order but they have to get it done and get it done fast all three timeouts remain but they've got a score quick it's first and 10 escaping the pressure right and he'll slide to a halt here still a little shy of the first down marker I certainly like what he did right there because he smartly wanted to avoid forcing anything down field because nothing appeared to be open nice harmless slide there to avoid the big hit and he gets a small gain on the play they'll come up now on second down off the play fake here's [Applause] Nicks and it's caught and inside the five here before he's out of bounds right at the three here we go first and goal looking to throw Nicks to the end zone but it's incomplete that's certainly not the worst thing it stops the clock and let your offense catch its breath and lets us exhale a little bit now I expect them call a couple plays in the Huddle so they're ready if a tackle happens in bounds they'll go again from the three here on second and [Applause] goal back to throw Nicks and this is caught now for a late touchdown so hold everything here this one's not over yet I'm not sure win-win is the proper term here but it certainly felt like it they got the touchdown they needed but if I'm on the defensive side of the ball okay you you got the touchdown but it sure took you a long time yeah cuz offensively there you're probably hoping for a one to five play drive that one AE up a little more time than they were hoping you're exactly right and if you have that one to five play drive you actually build up momentum and even more hope when they had to slog their way downfield they got the touchdown but it's almost like ah yeah you know feel right exactly they'll look to throw and now the pressure gets there and he goes down so he couldn't get rid of the football and that deficit stays right where it is tried to roll out make a play outside of the pocket but couldn't get it done when you don't have a lot of space for your receivers to operate and down there it's really condensed when you're snapping the ball from the two yd line rolling out you extend a play but you don't necessarily open up better avenues for people and on that play there's just nowhere to go with the ball and you end up getting sacked [Applause] so the clock shows 55 seconds to play as they line up for a critical onside kick and the Cardinals have got it so that should just about put an end to this one and that's why you have your hands team out there on the field those are the best guys ready to make that play and let's face it it was executed well it wasn't a bad kick it wasn't anything like that just that the normal outcome actually came to play analytics will tell you it's a very low possibility of getting the ball for the team kicking it an outside kick situation you're all about the numbers aren't you all about the numbers baby it's a new game now they don't lie we got to have two hands on the football here as they run on first down now a timeout called for by the defense as they get the stoppage with just under 50 seconds remaining in the fourth here's a second and five he's going to get it again just looking to get forward and protect the ball now the Broncos going to use the second of their timeouts as they'll stop it with just over 40 seconds to go in the game [Applause] down to a knee here's the Cardinals look to let the clock roll now the Broncos will use their third and final timeout and as the two teams talk it over on their respective Sidelines we take a break [Music] and they will take a knee here I don't know about you partner but watching them take the knee there and finish this one off I feel like I'm going to be sore tomorrow this was one bruising Affair low scoring but my kind of football not a work of art but maybe in your world a little bit of a work of art you like the defensive side I thought it was pretty I can't help myself I thought it was pretty and it ends in a knel down as the clock rolls down to [Applause] zeros well you really can't ask for much more than what we just had here not only a close game that went down to the wire Charles but a clean one too no turnovers in this contest and I think you're exactly right about that to me this is just a pair of offenses trying to find the slightest bit of separation from each other and they were both hoping that the other side would make the big mistake first but today neither side made that mistake and what we got a very entertaining game throughout [Applause] so that'll just about do it for Charles Davis I'm Brandon Garden you've been watching the NFL on EA Sports for more log on to easports.com enjoy the rest of your afternoon everyone as we say so long from Denver [Applause] [Applause]
