Seahawks Rumors, Overreactions On Kenneth Walker III, Geno Smith & Julian Love After Broncos Game

pot of the gold at the end of the rainbow and everything now everything's a okay right H bit of an overreaction yes the defense played very well but I'm not going to sit here and say that everything is fine and dandy now because you shut down a bad rookie quarterback in B Knicks who I have told you for quite some time I was not a believer in and you may recall John Schneider was a big fan of B Knicks in the pre-draft process he had some interest potentially drafting him uh thankfully he was not available when the Seahawks picked at 16 and went to the Denver Broncos at 12 but nonetheless bck struggled uh was not his day but the Seahawks defense really took advantage of it I loved what I saw from Julian love we'll talk about more in a bit he had 12 tackles one tackle for loss and an interception teral Dodson was fantastic 10 tackles one tackle for loss one pass break up Deon Witherspoon was really good seven tackles uh uh with uh one pass breakup ran Jenkins had a solid outing with six tackles uh in his Seahawks debut Jerome Baker played 68 of 69 snaps yesterday nice uh he had five tackles and one tackle for loss I could keep going with the standout performances I mean I I haven't mentioned Rick Wallen yet Rick Wallen who we've talked about all off season looking to have a bounceback campaign in 2024 started off strong to his season with with three tackles uh with one interception that he also had the only thing I could really point to when it comes to this defense you did give up uh over 100 rushing yards but I think that number is a bit deceptive as the Seahawks run defense got a lot better as the game went along here so for me I'm very satisfied with this defense I thought they did a really good job but let's not get over excited over animated about one game against a bad rookie quarterback in B Knicks let's see when they take on an elite offense like Miami here in a couple weeks and then uh get back to that later let's hear from the TW now Seahawks win those W's to celebrate that Seahawks win today number two on overreaction Monday more Kenneth Walker please not in overreaction now Kendall Walker did get a little banged up but we heard Mike McDonald say that they don't think it's that serious that he should be okay so that's very good news there but Kenneth Walker I mean if the offensive line I saw somebody say this online uh earlier this morning if the seaw offensive line was actually decent this guy would be looking like Barry Sanders out there he's that good folks he rushed for over a 100 yards with how God awful this offensive line was yesterday so for him to do that 5.2 yards per carry 103 yards a touchdown had that long at 23 yards I mean he is that dude Kenneth Walker was fantastic yesterday and this Seahawk's team this offensive attack we saw a little bit of everything right they ran a lot of shotgun we saw him run the pistol even the ey formation at times yesterday um whatever they do you got to establish the run to open up the passing game and I know we sold Zack shanet a decent amount as well but this offense for me I feel like needs to run through Kenneth Walker that he needs to be the key piece that this offense is is him folks not in overreaction Julian love with one of the best performances of not just his time in Seattle but really his career yesterday as uh he led the Seahawks and tackles with 12 with one tackle for loss one pass breakup and one interception he was just all over the place and you think about Mike McDonald we've referred a lot about the track record or the players that he's worked with and one thing that you can point to specifically of his time in Baltimore is what he's done with the safety spot with guys like Kyle Hamilton and Marcus Williams and among others Julian love coming off a pro bowl campaign last year no quandre Diggs or Jamal Adams he's been asked to take the Reigns to be that dude and he showed that he is him and I think that Julian love with the contract extension in hand coming off that Pro Bowl appearance he's showing that he can be one of the top safeties in football that Mike McDonald is going to get the most out of this guy that he's going to build upon this from here so nothing was fluky about Julian love last year this is only the beginning of Julian love and what he's about to do and to think that they also got him at a relatively decent cost with the extension what they signed him for last year I mean just unreal what we've seen out of Julian love uh last season and now to start this year and the way the secondary is coming together with Devin Witherspoon with the way Rick Wen played watch out everybody's sleeping time to wake up because uh this secondary is the real deal and Mike McDonald is getting the most out of this group do you believe in Julian love do believe in love who doesn't love love type B for believe D for don't way in the comment section and let us know the passing game is concerning is that an overreaction or not I think right now that is an overreaction look it was a slow start for Gino Smith not going to dispute that one bit but Gino got better as the game went along in the offensive line did him no fa favors whatsoever ladies and gentlemen a 72% completion percentage 171 yards one touchdown and a pick also uh rushing wise had four carries for 30 yards and uh one touchdown score including that 34 yard touchdown run uh that he had on the day look you think about this passing game with Gino Smith and if we're going to be realistic here for a second all right let's kind of reel things in for a moment it is not humanly possible to play your best every single week just not within human nature but how do you respond to your struggles where do you go from there and what we saw from Gino was a quarterback that threw an interception on the second play from scrimmage his first pass attempt of the season and how did he respond oh yeah came back from behind in the second half made the ne Neary plays made the key throws in crunch time when it mattered for this Seahawks team so for me I'm not going to sit here and say wow man I'm really concerned after you know him play great in that first half well the offensive line wasn't playing great didn't put it didn't give him much help and he played through it you play through adversities so for me no I'm not going to sit here and harp on getting off to a bad start because he finished well now let's see where he goes from here but I'm not going to be overly concerned just based on the how things went because of how he finished not always how you start it's how you finish and Gino finish just fine last one on overreaction list a lot of y'all on the internet had some takes on the offensive line and rightfully so the offensive line ain't it that is not an offense not an overreaction um this is one of the that first half was one of the worst offensive line performances I've ever seen in American tackle football I mean it was just that disgusting I mean you you went down two tackles right we didn't have Abraham Lucas on the field uh he's on pus to start the season George Fant gets hurt Stone foresight comes in he didn't play that great uh we saw Anthony Bradford get called for holding multiple times just absolutely atrocious I wanted to see more Christian Haynes out there the offensive line was pathetic all right giving up not one but two safeties in one half as mea kimes ESPN NFL analyst known Seahawks fan points out to the Seahawks own offensive line has scored more points on them than bodex it was that bad it was as big text would say damn brutal uh I mean just horrible and against Denver right this is going to be one of the worst teams you face this entire season and you played that terrible I am hitting the panic button on this right now what are you going to do next from here are you going to go shopping with the injury there to George Fant can Abraham Lucas heal up quickly can we figure out that knee situation what about Bradford does he get benched do we see more Christian Haynes now a lot of unanswered questions here that offensive line was a joke and I got to tell you if anything's going to hold this Seahawks team back from reaching their full potential in 2024 it's that offensive line there is cause for concern um luckily they did get better they get the Run game
