Seattle Seahawks WInners/Losers From Browns Preseason Game: Geno Smith, Easop Winston, Dee Eskridge

[Music] the Seahawks have wrapped up the NFL pre-season and they got to be feeling pretty good about themselves so where this team is at heading into 2024 on this edition of Seattle Seahawks today we're going to go over the winners and losers from Saturday night's 37-33 win over the Cleveland Browns the numbers for you man that was offensive fireworks the defense made plays that final score is a bit dece deceptive the defense played much better than what that number would indicate as uh most of those points were given up in the second half with the third and fourth Team guys but this seah orws team I got to tell you I I feel very confident I love the direction Mike McDonald has taking this team what they've done with this defense special teams cleaned up things I don't have Jason Myers on my winners list just cuz we didn't have enough spots but he'd be an honorable mention Jason Myers uh he's back he's back to his old self so that was very good to see uh but overall just you have to feel very strong about where this team is at Gino's our first winner Gino did everything you could have asked went out there touchdown Drive finds DK DK mosses his opponent had command of the offense first time we saw him in the preseason was just throwing darts just throwing lasers out there and I've said it before I'll say it again I think the 2024 version of Gino Smith is the best version of Gino Smith that we're going to see in his entire career his best football is still in front of him that receiving course so good the offensive lines improve he's got a good back field Gino get ready folks Buckle in it's Gino Smith time Sam Hal has shown that he's a competent backup but this is not a quarterback competition this is Gino's team and and I think Gino is going to impress you throughout this season who's a winner from Saturday night's game between the SE Hooks and Browns weigh in give us a name in the comment section that comes to mind we are here all season long here on being caught it's only a matter of time here the next couple of days the Seahawks have no reason to carry three quarterbacks on the active Rost PJ Walker showed you nothing in this preseason numbers are a bit deceptive from what the actual version of PJ Walker was uh did not play well seven completions on 10 attempts really just could not get in a rhythm get in a flow with this offense and that was a constant theme for him throughout the preseason I don't even know if they're going to carry him on the practice squad if they're going to go look for somebody else we'll see ESOP Winston Jr man this guy came through this preseason this was a guy that was on the outside looking in entering training camp to make the 53b roster he's been a practice squad player the last couple years I know his mom his cousin they love this show and they got to be proud of their guy heop Winston Jr leading this team in receiving for this preseason three catches 21 yards I don't know if he's going to make the roster or not but he made a strong case and if he ends up on that practice squad if his name gets called he's shown he's going to be ready to potentially step in Back to the losers list this is where we find Kobe Lewis uh Kobe Lewis man uh kind of a rough preseason for him six carries negative -2 yards on Saturday night um did have a six-yard run but ended up losing all those yards did have two catches for 12 yards receiving but why he's on the losers list too it's not just that he didn't play great but there's just no way Kobe Lewis is going to be on this team here in the next couple days uh Kenny McIntosh outplayed him for all of the preseason in training camp George helani outplayed him for all the preseason in training camp it's just Jo for for Kobe Lewis at this point um you know no no nothing personal but this is just the end all be all for for Kobe Lewis at this juncture in time who's a loser from the Seahawks Browns game wait we've gone over a couple names we got a few more time link is in the comments and description of today's video the Breakthrough performance we're all waiting for from TS gridge finally happened on Saturday night three catches 19 yards ran some really good routes did a good job of getting open also had a punt return touchdown they was really good but it might be too little too late in a competitive receiving room and with the unknowns are the Seahawks going to carry six are they going to carry seven receivers is there a spot for drid and if they do is he going to stay healthy is he worth taking on that risk of the unknowns with his health status over the years and being injury prone we'll see but at the very least if dsrd got cut gets cut here in the next couple days he leaves potentially on a high note where he's probably good a good chance to sign elsewhere and make an AC roster uh for somebody else but at the very least uh dridge solid night on Saturday night which is what we've been waiting for let's uh let's talk to tight ends now let's start with AJ barer uh bner had one target no catches this was a real opportunity for the tight end room with uh not having faal Brown out there not having no Noah Fant and just didn't capitalize on that chance for him to step up uh and show what he's made of to potentially get more playing time in that tight end rotation I expected more from him he was a player that I had my eye on going into tonight and there was just nothing there Nehemiah Pritchett the rookie Corner out of Auburn fantastic performance five tackles one tackle for loss one pass breakup was just all over the football field seahs found a good one here and moving on from Mike Jackson looks a lot better when you had the performance that he put together alongside DJ James too uh who was good in his own right the the the War Eagle Auburn cats these guys are going to be really good for this Seahawks secondary you got some good young Talent there I'm excited about both of them here going forward Brady Russell also on their losers list kind of for the same reasons that we mentioned with AJ Barner he started this game but really didn't do no didn't do anything and remember Brady Russell played pretty good in that game against Tennessee last week he ends the night not even making the box score with starting this game now I know it's not all necessarily his fault but that's a Mis chance in a competitive tight end room does he ultimately get caught we'll see what's your confidence level in the Seahawks right now you scale Foria 1 through 10 how you feeling about this group I feel a lot better than I did before the preseason I I'm feeling very good about where this team is at I got to go with an eight out of 10 give me your conf conf level weigh and let us know K Macintosh it would be very surprising if he doesn't make this 53 man roster now very good training camp I know that people have said that hey George helani has the edge on him when it comes to pass Pro but the way he's played I don't know how you would leave him off if you keep George helani as well then they're both on the 53 man roster I don't think you can cut Kenny McIntosh had the big 56 yard run had a very good preseason I'm excited for keny McIntosh and when you talk about his pass catching abilities that he brings to the table as well had one catch for nine yards on Saturday night that adds another element too and Ryan grub is minute know and he wants to use running backs in the passing game screen passing game that's where Kenny McIntosh can play a key role Mike Morris uh this is a night that he needed to do something he needed to show uh what he's made of to potentially earn a role in this 53 man roster and we know that Mike McDonald's a f of his uh you know obviously coached him at Michigan and we've seen Mike Morris have his moments in the preseason didn't really do anything on uh Saturday night and that might cause him to miss the roster we'll see but not uh the performance we
