SWITCHING GEARS NOW, IN LESS THAN A HALF HOUR, THOUSANDS OF RUNNERS WILL BE RACING THROUGH SOUTH PHILADELPHIA AND CENTER CITY, FOR THE FIFTH ANNUAL PHILLY 10 K. "EYEWITNESS NEWS" REPORTER MATT PETRILLO LIVE AT SOUTH AND EIGHTH STREETS THIS MORNING, WHERE PEOPLE ARE GETTING READY, MATT, GOOD MORNING. FINALLY START TOO LONG GATHER AT THE STARTING LINE BEHIND ME HERE AT SOUTH AND EIGHTH STREETS IN SOUTH PHILADELPHIA. ABOUT 5,000 PEOPLE ARE EXPECTED TO PARTICIPATE, IN THE PHILLY 10K. THIS RACE IS LITTLE DIFFERENT THAN MOST STARTING AT THE PARKWAY, SCENICS I CAN ROUGHLY MILES MILE STRIDE THROUGH PARTS OF SOUTH FILL ANY CENTER CITY AFTER THE RACE A BLOCK PARTY IN QUEEN VILLAGE WHERE RUNNERS GET TO ENJOY BEER FROM THE PHILLY BREWING COMPANY AND SHAKE SHACK AND FEDERAL DONUT CUSTARD PLUS LIVE MUSIC. SO RIGHT NOW WE HAVE GROUP OF GIRLS JOINING US, LIVE, THEY CAME FROM DOYLESTOWN. CHRISTIE, YOU GUYS ARE ALL, HAVE, LIKE A M ON YOUR HAND, IS THAT RIGHT? YEP. WHAT'S THAT STAND FOR? THAT STANDS FOR THE MILES FOR MOLLY. WE ARE RUNNING THIS RACE IN HONOR OF MOLLY TIBBETTS, WHO PASSED AWAY ON OUT ON A RUN, SO WE'RE DEDICATING OUR MILES TODAY IN HONOR OF HER, AND THE FACT THAT SHE COULDN'T COME HOME SAFELY FROM A RUN. HOW IMPORTANT WAS THAT WHEN YOU GUYS WERE KIND OF DRAINING , I MEAN, TRAINING FOR SEVERAL MONTHS, WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO KIND OF, AND IF YOU COULD SHOW OUR CAMERA, WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO PUT THAT ON YOUR WRIST. WELL, WE STARTED OUT THE SUMMER REGISTERING FOR THIS RACE, AND WE LOVE RUNNING THROUGH THE SUMMER. IT IS NICE TO HAVE A RACE ON YOUR CALENDAR TO GET YOU THROUGH THOSE HOT DAYS OF THE SUMMER. BUT HEARING ABOUT HER TRAGIC STORY, MADE TODAY ALL THAT MORE IMPORTANT TO JUST LET HER FAMILY KNOW AND OTHER WOMEN KNOW THAT WE ARE THINKING ABOUT HER AND ALL OF THE WOMEN OUT THERE THAT WE WANT THEM TO KNOW THAT YOU CAN GO OUT AND RUN SAFERLY, AND WE WANT ALL WOMEN TO GET BACK OUT THERE AND HONOR HER AND EVERY WOMAN THAT GET OUT THERE EVERY SINGLE DAY, GET OUT THERE, RUN SAFERLY, HONOR HER AND EVERY SINGLE WOMAN THAT GOES OUT AND RUNS EVERY SINGLE. I THAT'S A VERY STRONG MESSAGE. AND THIS IS RELATIVELY YOUNG RACE THAT'S GOING ON FOR ABOUT FIVE YEARS NOW, YOU'VE DONE IT BEFORE. TELL ME HOW BEAUTIFUL ALL OF THE SITES ARE AROUND HERE? OH, MY GOSH, WHEN I RAN IT LAST YEAR, IT INSTANTLY BECAME MY FAVORITE RACE OF THE YEAR. I KNEW I WOULD DO IT AGAIN. THAT IS LITTLE DIFFERENT THAN ANY OTHER RACE I'VE DONE IN PHILADELPHIA, I'VE DONE MANY MORE, AND IT JUST IS GREAT TO RUN THROUGH THESE NEIGHBORHOODS, THEY'RE BEAUTIFUL, AND IT IS REALLY WELL ORGANIZED. AND IT HAS A VERY GOOD NEIGHBORHOOD FEEL. AND I WOULDN'T WAIT TO BRING ME THREE GOOD RUNNING BUDD THINKS YEAR OUT TO DO IT WITH ME. YES, WHEN DOING THIS WITH COUPLE OF FRIENDS, AGAIN, THIS RACE STARTS IN ABOUT A HALF HOUR FROM NOW, NOW, A LITTLE LESS THAN A HALF HOUR AT 7:30, AND WE SEND IT BACK TO YOU, REPORTING LIVE IN SOUTH PHILADELPHIA, MATT PETRILLO,
