IT'S HARD TO BELIEVE THAT FRANCINE IS JUST OFFSHORE BECAUSE IT'S BEEN BEAUTIFUL HERE, AND I THINK IT'S GOING TO STAY THAT WAY. WE MAY NOT GET MUCH, IF ANYTHING, FROM FRANCINE IN THE COMING DAYS. THE STORM IS HEADED TOWARDS LOUISIANA. STILL EXPECTING LANDFALL THERE SOMETIME TOMORROW AS A STRONG CATEGORY ONE HURRICANE. MAYBE A STRONG OR MAYBE A CATEGORY TWO HURRICANE. ALTHOUGH THE UPDATED ADVISORY KEEPS IT AT A CATEGORY ONE. WE'LL CHECK THAT OUT. COMING UP. ANOTHER NICE DAY HERE, FRANCINE. IMPACTS ALONG THE COAST INCLUDE DANGEROUS RIP CURRENTS, HIGH SURF AND COASTAL FLOODING. AGAIN LOUISIANA LANDFALL TOMORROW. WATCHES AND WARNINGS MAP I KNOW THIS IS A PRETTY COLORFUL MAP, BUT JUST SHOWING YOU THAT RIGHT ALONG THE TEXAS COAST THERE IS A TROPICAL STORM WATCH IN THE GREEN, MAINLY FROM JUST SOUTH OF CORPUS CHRISTI, UP TOWARDS GALVESTON, AND EVEN SOUTH OF BEAUMONT. THAT IS A COASTAL FLOOD WARNING ALONG THE LOUISIANA COAST. THERE IS A STORM SURGE WARNING AND A HURRICANE WARNING THE STORM SYSTEM IS NOW MOVING FARTHER TO THE NORTH AND NORTHEAST. WINDS AT THE CENTER OF THE STORM AT 65 MILES AN HOUR. SO STILL A STRONG TROPICAL STORM, BUT IT WILL LIKELY BECOME A HURRICANE. A CATEGORY ONE HURRICANE LATER TODAY COUNTERCLOCKWISE CIRCULATION AROUND THIS, YOU CAN SEE PRODUCING SOME RAIN BANDS AS FAR NORTH NOW AS SOUTHEAST TEXAS. EVEN SOME HEAVIER RAIN BANDS REACHING CENTRAL LOUISIANA AND CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI. CHECK OUT ALL OF THAT MOISTURE THAT'S MOVING TOWARDS THE EASTERN AND SOUTHEASTERN PART OF LOUISIANA. HIGH PRESSURE IS IN CONTROL HERE, AND THAT'S WHAT'S GOING TO HELP TO KEEP FRANCINE AWAY FROM OUR REGION. HERE'S THE FORECAST TRACK. SO CATEGORY ONE HURRICANE LATER THIS AFTERNOON INTO THE EVENING. LOOKS LIKE THE STORM WILL BE ABOUT 100 MILES OR SO AWAY FROM TEXAS. AND A CATEGORY ONE HURRICANE AS IT MAKES LANDFALL TOMORROW AFTERNOON. TOMORROW EVENING. SO THIS IS SHOWING STILL REMAINING A CATEGORY ONE HURRICANE ONCE IT INTENSIFIES TO A CAT 1ST MAY NOT NECESSARILY INTENSIFY TO A CAT TWO, BUT WE'LL KEEP WATCHING FOLKS THERE ALONG THE LOUISIANA COAST SHOULD STILL PREPARE FOR POTENTIALLY A CATEGORY TWO HURRICANE. IT WILL WEAKEN OVER LAND. HOWEVER, IT'S GOING TO SPREAD SOME HEAVY RAIN ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE DEEP SOUTH AND UP INTO THE MIDWEST. LATER TOMORROW, AND ESPECIALLY ON THURSDAY. I THINK WE'LL START TO SEE SOME HEAVIER RAIN ACROSS THE SOUTHEAST TEXAS LATER TONIGHT INTO TOMORROW MORNING. THERE GOES THE CENTER OF THE STORM, NOW EXPECTED TO MAKE LANDFALL JUST TO THE WEST OF NEW ORLEANS. AND NOW WELL EAST OF LAKE CHARLES. MEANWHILE, THIS IS WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE ACROSS OUR AREA. FOR THE REST OF THIS TUESDAY, WE'LL SEE MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES IN THE EARLY EVENING, WE MAY SEE SOME MID-LEVEL CLOUDS JUST BECAUSE OF THE INCREASE IN MOISTURE. TROPICAL MOISTURE FROM FRANCINE WILL CLIMBING CLIMB UP TO ABOUT 91 DEGREES. THE HUMIDITY WILL BE A LITTLE MORE NOTICEABLE. I HAVE A 10% RAIN CHANCE THIS AFTERNOON INTO THE EVENING IN THE EASTERN ZONE. MEANWHILE, A 20% RAIN CHANCE CERTAINLY DRIER WITH SUNSHINE ACROSS THE HILL COUNTRY AND THE WESTERN ZONE. SEVEN DAY FORECAST TOMORROW. A 20% RAIN CHANCE. THAT TOO IS IN THE AFTERNOON. SOME ISOLATED SHOWERS COULD MAKE THEIR WAY THIS FAR WEST FROM THE COAST, BUT IT WILL BE VERY ISOLATED IF ANYTHING. 30% RAIN CHANCE TOMORROW FOR THE EASTERN ZONE THURSDAY FRIDAY PARTLY TO MOSTLY SUNNY. IT DOES WARM UP EVEN MORE, UP TO 94 BY FRIDAY. THIS WEEKEND WILL CERTAINLY BE A LOT WARMER AND MORE HUMID.
