how y'all doing I'm good can you just talk about what excites you about this opportunity and and and what you feel you can do here after you kind of get your feet on the ground and get in full shape after not no Camp yeah um obviously I feel like this is a great opportunity for me to come in and help a greater organization know win football games and you know as I look around and I know I look at the running back room you know it's a bunch of guys in there you know I can go in there and run the football with you know obviously Zeke Rico you know you got Duce in the room you know some guys that I could I could go help out and you know push those guys and we could be a great room together so how how much you still have what you had in Minnesota I got it you got it it's right here I got it how how much is Zimmer being here play a role in you coming here everything to be honest um you know um the way I feel about Zim you know you know he's I appreciate him for everything and you know he accepted me like I was his own when I came into in so is the same way when I got here so you know nothing but hats off to coach them and you know I appreciate them did y'all talk about this throughout the offseason I mean why did it take so long I don't know I was just working man I let I let the business take care of the business that's just how I am man I could control you know my legs being ready me being ready to play fully ready to go um so that's what I control and I let the business do the business how disappointing was last year considering you feel like hey I I still got it yeah it was it was different i w to say disappointed I learned a lot you know for me I always take things into lessons for me and um that's just how I take it um but you know no hard feelings or nothing that I just I grow from it what's up like lesson that you learned from just keep your head down man no matter the circumstance you still got to work hard cuz you know I I stuck to my to my routine throughout the throughout the season and then know when I got the ball tomorrow I was ready to go um I was ready to get the ball have many times they needed me to just unfortunately I didn't get it that much but you know I was ready to go and I felt like that so know just just stick to your routine no matter what and that's what it pretty much really taught me what's it like playing with for Mike Mike McCarthy he said he had many games where you ran down the sidelines and you stand on the other side in Green Bay yeah I'm still getting used to it it was some fun times man I'm just happy we together now um know I think the world of Mike too man um you know hell of a coach um you know just just a lot of respect for him a lot of respect for this building and the people that's in it so you know I'm just happy to be on this side now you both you think both it's kind of you're at a phase of your career now where it's not that to lead back as many touches as you got earlier has that been an adjustment and can you talk just about being part of a committee versus like a clear Bel house in the back I guess yeah um my years in Minnesota um it was it was ding ding diving just give him the ball he go and you know now you know just a little adjustment um you know help everybody be productive and that's just my mindset you know I'mma I'm going to be ready to go and you know being around Zeke you know I can obviously learn a lot from him he's older than me so you know just just soaking up the game still man learning from the young guys too so just being a part of this group I feel like you know we going to push each other you say you still got it you have anything to prove to people nah um my resume speak for itself to be honest um but I just had a son he just turned one a week ago I got everything to prove to him to be honest and not old a world to him and you know every day I put on my P every day I wake up you know that's my that's my why what's his name junior he D what do you say to people that take well rning backs to get 29 30 they not the same you know how do you come back that uh I can give you um only I can tell you man is you know in this league you know running backs we obviously take our bodies through so much but you know it's a it's a point where you got to know all right I'm getting at a certain age I got to start upping the stuff off the field and that's for me I just picked up a certain routine and I just ran with it and I just feel like it's got me to this point point where I'm I'm healthy and ready to go so just just stick to a routine man no matter the age man if you got it go get it so that's my mindset coming up this show to surg going in last season how much healthier are you now than you were going into last season yeah last season I wasn't really able to start working out until like almost the end towards the end of the offseason cuz I was having the rehab my shoulder so much but this offseason I hit the ground run as soon as the season was over with and I've been working out ever since and know I'm ready to go what did they tell you about the opportunties it really didn't tell me about nothing you know I just for me it was about you know being in the building with familiar faces being around people that genuinely you know care for doin cook and you know his wellbeing and I'm going take care of the rest know if if somebody said opportunity is given to you I wouldn't want to take it to be honest you know I I would want to physically go out there and you know earn my earn my rights to go out and play on the field for the Dallas Cowboys you got the job here DC you thinking oh this might be destination or I got the big eyes I did man like I said I think the worlder co them and you know um you obviously some familiar faces in here with EK you know Lyall you know some guys as in here that I know and it's been it's been good man how much does it mean to you Jerry said he obviously listened to what Zim had to say about you before signing you that he kind of probably went to B for you to get you here that's the boss boss boss boss so it's like you know hearing that from from him man I I was a kid you know you know watching the Cowboys and seeing Jerry on TV so you know hearing those words from him you know that that mean a lot to me you know as a person and you know I genuinely genuinely appreciate it as a player in this league for so long what was your impression of the Cowboys on outside for me my whole family well half of my family know they dolphins and and the other half is Cowboys so you know I've been watching the Cowboys since I was a kid so you know I always knew this this was a Prestige organ organization and you know you come in here you willar that start with with pride and and that's what I'm going to do I know you said you learned a lot from the last year but was that tough kind of going from what you had in Minnesota bouncing around to you know New York and then Baltimore and kind of getting into that mode it was it was definitely an adjustment and it was something that know I was having a hard time you know adjusting to but you know just having the right people around me you know leaning on my family my brothers I lean on my little brother actually a lot you know just for a lot of advice and it was it was it was those moments you know just just leaning on my family and they kind of pushed me through it but you know helping Bree giving Bree as much knowledge as I can giving those guys in the room as as much knowledge I can you know just giving them everything and you know that's what I went to sleep and lay my head on the pillow knowing that I you know I'm I'm giving and that's that's all what was your brother's reaction to you signing and getting back in the league when I came on my visit and I was I had went back to Houston um for for a day to go get some stuff and he was he just kept asking me you signing I just wouldn't say nothing to him and then I signed the next day he was like man you could have told me you was signing I like bro I had to keep it down lad so you but we we got that type of relationship man where we we just every day we talk on the phone you know I pick his brain and we just go outou your off season home um yeah I just I just moved to Houston a year ago yeah did you catch any of the Cowboys this preseason yeah I watch I watch football all day who was who was somebody in the running back room that stood out to you uh Rico why I feel like you know he's one of those underrated players that kind of do the dirty work um knows the Playbook inside out um he helping me with the Playbook right now so um he's just one of those players man don't get enough recognition but put his head down and just work just for me being around him you know for the day I can kind of see how he go by his business so just send him on the TV and see how it translate to how he in the building is is as well said you you said you watch a lot of football obviously when you're not on the field playing so you likely saw that the Cowboys offense last year was number one but it struggled with the Run attack with you coming in Zeke you talk about how Rico can be impactful what do you feel like this offense can be if he gets the rushian attack on yeah I feel like we know pretty much you know who Dak Prescott is so we know he going to throw the throw the ball around the yard feel like we got one one of or if not the best receiver in the league so you know us establishing the Run game and you know taking the load off them guys a little bit you know we kind of know what what we up for and you know I don't think there's no better guys for the job than us call you lied with the Jets was it just a backup thing or what I know too much I don't really want to know speak on the situation but you know when Aaron went down play forward I think everything was just a little different um it wasn't it wasn't no emergency plan it wasn't we didn't know Aon went down play four and it was just kind of like what we do and that's just what it was right thank you appreciate y'all thank you
