so I have another update for you on the Ricky peol incident this after the press conference at San Francisco General Hospital involving mayor London breed Police Chief William Scott and district attorney Brook Jenkins according to the sfpd the suspect in this case is 17 years old he's from Tracy for those of you not familiar with California geography Tracy is about an hour to an hour and a half east of San Francisco in the Central Valley the suspect is also like Ricky peol at San Francisco General Hospital right now because according to the sfpd both he and peol sustained gunshot wounds during the course of the altercation Brooke Jenkins the da said that a charging decision has not yet been made from her office but that we can expect one on Tuesday or Wednesday Jenkins added quote at this time those charges will be filed in the juvenile court end quote obviously that stems from the fact that the suspect is 17 years old now some more information that's come to light Ricky peol was at a card show signing some autographs at the Cow Palace before this incident the Cow Palace is where the Golden State Warriors or the San Francisco warriors back then used to play it's not too far from Candlestick Park it's south of downtown San Francisco it's on the border of San Francisco and da City technically outside of San Francisco city limits and without traffic you can get from the Cal Palace to where Ricky piol was on the corner of giri and Grant downtown and about 15 to 20 minutes the one of the questions asked of sfpd Chief William Scott was if pierceall was Target it because he's an NFL player and sfpd said that they have no indication that Pier sa was targeted because of who he is they said that this was just a armed robbery attempt downtown so that there has been some wonder about okay did somebody follow Ricky peol from the Cal Palace up to downtown San Francisco but sfpd today uh has said that they do not believe that that was the case they believe that this based on whatever evidence they collected so far that this was a random robbery attempt downtown there was a lot that William Scott said that he knew but couldn't share at this time he did say that Ricky peol was talking and we've seen video of Ricky piol walking to the ambulance with a clear wound on his right chest up near his right shoulder uh but William Scott did not disclose whether or not Ricky piol had uh former given an interview to the sfpd detectives uh in their research on this case he did say that he was talking but it it does sound like he's still undergoing treatment at San Francisco General Hospital and the interview might come later although uh William Scott was not clear about that one more piece of reporting Matt mayoko at San Francisco General Hospital uh did say that he saw John Lynch there on Twitter so 49ers general manager John Lynch is at the hospital checking in on his player Ricky peol all right the updates will keep on coming we'll talk to you soon
