Rookie's Braelon Allen And Isaiah Davis Share The Feeling Of Playing In Their First NFL Game

Isaiah Davis 1-on-1 here with running back Isaiah Davis Isaiah your first game action in the NFL how did it feel awesome uh at first a lot of nerves at first uh help you know special teams uh going out there running around but it was fun got to celebrate the guy make a couple plays and we end up with the dove so we saw you a couple plays at returner couple plays making a big completions for that touchdown Drive in the first half what was working well for you today uh um really everything went pretty well a running game returning I wish I would got my my Fe and myself a little bit more uh first time playing on Turf in a little while and first time being out here on the field so um just get my feel on myself I think it's going to get better and better and just kind of sack days was Bree hall or Tony dues giving you any pointers throughout the game uh I mean yeah uh just believe in yourself um I mean everyone knows how your first game goes you're nervous uh so that can kind of affect your play so just stay on your keys uh being detailed and Trust the process we've been doing the same thing for for months now um so we're prepared for the moment and just go out there and play hard play fast and have fun what do you think of your teammate brillan Allen and how he did today dog I mean I think he had six for 54 uh I mean it's great to be in the backfield with him uh you know I feel we learned a lot from each other and uh you know I'm excited for the season how excited are you for next week to get another go at another preseason game in Carolina it's going to be a blessing like every week's a blessing every day especially getting to play you know here with the Jets uh you know I'm excited uh ready get to work awesome thanks for your time yeah thank you here with brayan Allen how did it Braelon Allen 1-on-1 feel the play in your first professional game uh it was a lot of fun um dream come true of course you know pulling up to the stadium put on the uniform and everything like that you know it was uh um an amazing feeling just like I said just a dream come true you know you never know how how it's going to feel till you know it actually happens and um wasn't as nervous as I had you know thought I was going to be so I guess I helped a little bit but um you know at the end of the day you know my first after my first few plays you realize it's just football um so it was a lot of fun when you see in one of your first carries kind of a hole open up and you know that you get a full steam ahead and finally get to hit somebody how nice is that of a feeling for you oh that's I mean that's exactly what you want you know I think the old line did an amazing job today of um creating space you know I feel like everyone that I had um if it didn't go for Touchdown it was my fault I was getting tripped up or something and um they just made it real easy I mean even my first uh First Carry um you know we had a toss and everything got stressed out and I was ready to get vertical on it and slipped a little bit um so I was a little disciplined in that one you know we practice on grass so it's a little different playing out here but uh uh it was awesome you know like I said those guys up front did did them amazing job feels like the Run game has been an emphasis at least in today's game how do you feel like the chemistry has been between the running backs and the offensive line at the beginning of Camp to now oh I think it's improved a a tremendous amount um you know those guys are so good I think you know even um when you get to the twos and threes I mean it's you know loaded with with talent and um those guys just did a great job moving moving everybody out the way and creating a lot of space for for all the backs today I know that you haven't watched the film obviously but what's your knee-jerk reaction of something that you did well that you want to carry on to next game or something that maybe you want to improve um I think uh you know like I mentioned before a little disappointed about uh you know my footing on a couple of plays you know I think if I would have stayed under myself a little bit you know I could have had some more explosive runs just um was kind of slipping and you know tripping over myself a little bit but um you know I felt like I ran the ball hard and um was decisive and you know that's been my biggest point of emphasis you know since I got here it was you know no matter what I what decision I make make it at 100% so I felt like I did that but other than that you know just trying to improve in in every single way awesome bril congratulations thank you appreciate it Will McDonald 1-on-1 here with Will McDonald first preseason game under your belt what did you think of your performance I feel like it was pretty good you know I came out uh expecting to make an impact uh from the uh from the first place into my last play um I definitely feel like I made an impact to help the team out but you know I'm I'm just out there playing ball having fun they showed a really nice spin move on the broadcast that you had and then afterwards Germaine Johnson was talking to you about it what was he saying about that yeah cuz I landed they said like I landed on him intentionally which I probably did but like I was trying to slide off on the on on the left side of him but he's just a heavy dude he fought he F heavy so I mean I don't think that was my fault but I mean it is what it is though I was already focused on the next play I was trying to get another one so I mean it was just it was just unfortunate I ain't really going to worry about nobody else's pains but um uh yeah he just he basically just told me uh next time that happen just roll off just act like you know that you care about him so you know they don't they don't really blow the flag was was he or any of your other coaches kind of giving you pointers along the way that were helping you yeah I mean it was it you know it obviously was a mistake but you know they uh definitely Co me up on on uh what I could do better on that um you know with the tackling now they got a whole bunch of rules with the QB so you know you just got to be careful with it what do you think of the defensive performance overall for your guys first game back in action like it was good you know we got a lot of dogs out there um on dline you know lbs you know everybody we got a lot of Playmakers on there uh we got we got all starters you know um and we got everybody's you know killers on the team and so you know I'm just I'm just happy for the rookies you know especially me you know uh to just uh just be along on the journey just making plays and just having fun if there's one thing you're going to take from today's game and you're kind of going to work on it for next week in Carolina what would that be uh I mean I I I'll probably say just uh just continue uh to just play harder you know just continue to make plays I do what I need to do for the team and uh just go ahead get some sacks too awesome appreciate the time will Adrian Martinez 1-on-1 appreciate y Adrien your assessment of how you played today and what steps forward you hope today day matters in terms of impressing this coaching staff trying to make this team definitely well for starters it's important that we win the game and that's what we were able to do and that was our main goal coming out and I think you get too busy trying to worry about yourself as an individual you you end up playing worse you know so really it's about the team it's about how can we move the chains and feel like I did that today we had a couple three and outs but uh we were able to bounce back not get sidet track and and find our Rhythm there late in the game for a Young quarterback still you played 5 years in college you've been in this league for a little while but to be in a room and at practice every day with someone like Aaron Rogers has meant what to you over these last few weeks it's it's nothing short of a blessing a true honor and a blessing to be in that room not only the players but if coach Todd Downing uh we have Billy we have uh coach Hackett guys who have a ton of experience who have been around some great quarterbacks and then maybe the best quarterback of all time and Aaron Rogers so just being in the room it's very cool I try and pick up on anything I can and um it's a great opportunity take me through a couple of those touch throws that you made as well you made some plays with your legs but even more importantly you know in this league you have to be able to make plays with your arm to play quarterback on the move and also couple of deep balls on the mark with touch um chemistry with some wide receivers you probably didn't even know before you came to Camp with these guys so the importance of being able to show that those plays are possible yeah there's no doubt I think you hit it on the head it's it's showing that that's possible and being a a dual threat type quarterback you need to be able to throw the ball I mean that's what being an NFL quarterback is so feel like I was able to show a bit of that today still have a couple more opportunities here to do some more and um you know you're right I I got here I think today makes two weeks so I wasn't here at the start of Camp I'm just starting to get to know the guys so uh I think having some success helps with that it was fun watching today thanks appreciate it [Music] [Applause]
